"Mom!" Viol yelled as she rushed towards Lute's still body.

Lute had a huge bump on her forehead and ichor ran from it. Her eyes flickered, trying hard but failing to stay open.

"Mom! Wake up! Please!" Viol kept on pleading until she noticed the lizard Sinner grunting nearby them. She held her breath and ducked, hoping he wouldn't notice them.

"That stupid bitch!" She heard him mumbling and headed for the open road. Fortunately for them, he seemed to have given up on the idea of killing them.

He hadn't gone that far, when a spear pierced through his body. Viol recognized the Exorcist who committed the deed and rushed towards her to ask for help.

"Wait!" She waved her arms.

It was too late and the Exorcist has already taken flight to find more Sinners to kill. Viol was about to turn and tend her wounded mom, when she felt a pair of arms grabbing her and lifting her up.

She kicked and punched his arms but to no avail.

"Oh my! What a sweet child you are. Betcha the Vees are gonna take an interest in you. They surely pay me well" he smirked, showing three sides of dirty yellow teeth.

The specific Sinner resembled a shark, just like those Viol spotted on her drawing books, from the grey skin and snoot, down to a produtred vertical tail. She recalled that these animals were often described as "nasty predators" and Viol was in no mood to deal with one at that moment. She made a last effort by biting his arm, but that only resulted in him holding her even tighter and placing a gun on her head.

"Bite me again, kiddo" he hissed. "And I'll have your fetus-shit brains splattered all over the wall"

Viol could only quiver as the Sinner dragged her even further from the backstreet to even darker and grittier pathways. He turned different directions, he zigzaged° it was quite obvious that he was familiar with the place and knew exactly how to reach his destination. Viol's heart beat even louder and faster° even if somehow she could get herself out of his grip, she couldn't find her mom. Except if another Exorcist found her first...

He suddenly stopped on his tracks. Viol hopped that he had changed his minds and that he would let her go, but then she saw what has gotten his attention: a series of colorful fireworks blowing in the sky. The spectacle was impressive but deep down she felt it was up for something bad.

She turned out to be right, when the shark Sinner jerked his face towards her and said with a smugly look: "The sign. Extermination Day has officially ended and all Exorcists return back to Heaven. Except for you. Looks like you are gonna get stuck down here for a long time"

He kept going for a few minutes when he stopped again on his tracks, this time because he finally reached his destination: a large luxurious building with an unaccountable number of floors with a huge flashy sign saying "The Vees".

The Sinner kicked in and made a big entrance, raising horn fingers on the air. "What's up, fellas?!"

A good chunk of weird-looking Sinner in... skimpy outfits (some in no outfits at all) turned their exasperated faces at him. Among them, a terrifying tall moth, dressed in a red fur, a top hat and a pair of heart-shaped sunglasses. The Sinner made his way towards him and tried to act cool.

"Hey, Valentino. Long time no see. How is V' and V'?"

Valentino's eyes narrowed. "Don't try to pull that mierda on me, motherfucker. I haven't forgotten that you still owe me money"

The Sinner let a nervous chuckle. "Of course and I haven't, dude. But I offer you something better"

He placed the confused Viol on the floor. She wanted to run or fly away but she was surrounded. Furthermore, she didn't know if these Sinners were armed and she wasn't planning to find out in an unpleasant way. She examined the place better: she room looked like a film studio, with the camera, the microphones and the whole crew taking care of their equipment. A large bed with soft pillows and a handful chains was located in the middle with a pink Spider Sinner sitting atop it.

"An Exorcist child! Isn't that way better than some crap cash?" The Sinner said in an excited tone. "You can advertise her like this: "Tired of the murderous shit the Exorcists put you through? Relieve yourself through that Exorcist girl! Fuck her up just like these bitches have fucked you!""

Viol grew more and more uncomfortable with each word that Sinner spat.

"Oh, you don't say" Valentino mused and approached the terrified child. Viol hid behind her wings in a frail attempt to shield herself.

The shark Sinner waved bye-bye and closed the door. Valentino turned to one of his sexbots: "Notify Vox to have that Sinner killed before he gets too far away". The sexbot nodded and did as she was told. Valentino turned his gaze again on Viol: "Say niña" he gave her a wide unsettling smile, which didn't exactly easied Viol, "would you be interested into becoming part of my brand?"

"What..." Viol was about to ask, but she was cut off by his finger.

"Don't rush it, niña. I'll explain it as simply as I can for you. I'll put you on the phone lines and all you'll need to do is answer some calls. Sencillo, isn't it?"

It wasn't as simply as Valentino thought. Viol had caught the whole "answer some phone calls", but she couldn't exactly fathom what "these phone calls" would be about. She was about to ask, when the moth Sinner cut her off again.

"You just need to sign this contract and your soul will belong to me" he pull out of thin air a purple piece of paper and place it near Viol, along with a pen. "Your co-workers will explain everything to you shortly after"

He pulled a menacing smile that sent shivers down her spine. She may be young, but she was familiar with the whole "sell your soul" concept and the evil implications it came with it. She raised her gaze from the contract and caught the eye of Spider Sinner. How long had he been staring at them? He had white fluff all over his body, a normal eye and one with dark sclera, four arms and two long black legs.

Something in the pained way he stared at her made Viol's fears justified. She knew there was something wrong with that moth man and she wasn't willing to sell her soul for him.

"I don't know how to write" she lied.

The same fluffy Sinner let out a sigh of relief, which assured Viol that she had made the right choice.

Valentino's face flushed before it returned to its usual calm endeavor. "No prob, chikita. It doesn't have to be your signature. Just put your thumb print".

All of sudden, the lights went off and darkness engulfed the room.

"¿Qué carajo acaba de pasar?" Valentino exclaimed.

Viol felt herself being lifted again - how many times has this happened to her today? She had lost counts - and being dragged outside of the room and, judging from the direction, outside the building.

When they finally reached the outside, Viol recognized her "savior": it was the Spider Sinner. He let go of her and gave her a slight push: "Come on! Go! Before he finds out!"

Viol wanted to follow his advice, she wanted to rush back to her mother, back to Heaven and relax after that exhausting day, but there was one problem: "Sir, I don't know where to go!" She said as tears strolled drown her face.

The Sinner was taken aback. "You don't?"

Viol shook her face.

The Sinner lifted her up. There was something tender in the way he hold her and easied Viol's stress, something that reminded her of her mom. He started running down the street.

"That's ok" He told her between his breaths. "I know a good place where you can stay. I'm Angel Dust"

Angel Dust? At least his name contained the word "angel" in it.

Viol was about to introduce herself, but kept her mouth shut. She didn't feel sharing too much information with a stranger yet.

As they kept going, they left the crowded populated city and emerged into an open hill. At the top of the hill, there was large noticeable building with huge flashy letters going "Hazbin Hotel". It looked almost similar to the Vees' studio, but it felt more... welcoming.

Angel Dust knocked the door. "Guys, it's me! I'm baaaaaack!" He announced with a singing voice.

A grumpy anthropomorphic cat with big eyebrows, pants, top hat, bow tie and a set of red wings opened up. "I swear to fucks, if you don't stop that crap..." He then noticed the angel kid.

"C'mon, Husk-y. I know deep down you like it" Angel Dust teased him, causing a small smile to appear on his face, before returning his gaze back to Viol.

In an instant, the rest of the residents of this "Hotel" - a blond woman with rosy cheeks, a lady with long ashy hair and x in the place of where her left eye should be, an one-eyed woman with skimpy clothes, another one-eyed woman, but shorter and in maiden's clothes and sharply dressed red Sinner with deer ears - approached them.

"Is that... an angel?" Said the one-eyed tall woman with a mix of confusion and disgust on her face, which didn't really help Viol's current sense.

"Seems so..I took her from Valentino" Angel informed them. "He wanted to put her in the sex lines. He almost convinced her to sell her soul to him. And... I just couldn't let her repeat the same mistake I made. She's too young!"

"What a sicko!" The same woman shook her head.

The woman with the ashy hair examined the kid. "She's too young. Don't tell me... I can't believe they decided to recruit kids!" She said disgusted. "I had a feeling things were going pretty fucked up for them, but not to that point"

"Are we sure she's an Exorcist?" The blonde Sinner said.

"It's pretty obvious from the halo and the plumage" The Feline Sinner said. "But, I don't think the Exorcists would be dumb enough to recruit kids"

"I have to agree with that" the Red Sinner said with a peculiar voice that striked Viol. It sounded... distant and off-putting as if it was coming from an old broadcasting device. His smile unsettled her even more, for it seemed everlasting and plastered on his face. "I would this dear young lady will make a lovely dinner!"

"Can I take the first bite?" The dwarf Sinner laughed and pulled a knife from behind her back.

"No!" Vaggie said and placed her hands protectively around Viol. That gesture filled the little girl with relief. At least there was someone in this place who cared for her in some extent. "We can't kill her! We won't! It won't make us any better than them!"

Any sympathetic feeling Viol had for Vaggie quickly vanished. Why did they hate them so much?

The gray-haired Sinner turned to Viol. "What's your name, kiddo?"

Viol didn't answer. She didn't want to. She felt totally unsafe there, even though she knew that it was still much more preferable than being outside. She just shoved her head into Vaggie's chest.

"We won't make progress this way" Vaggie sighed.

"Maybe she's just stressed" Cherri Bomb proposed. "Hey, kiddo. Wanna some beer?" She stretched her arm to offer her her half-empty glass.

The Sinner with the red tuxedo approached the angel and took her in her arms. She placed a loving hand on her cheek, which helped calm her down a bit. There was something... motherly about her that she couldn't quite explain in words. "Guys, don't you see? She's scared to death!"

Viol wanted to protest, but she knew she wouldn't convince anyone. All she could do was say: "Wait till my mom discover where I am! She's gonna kick your butts 'cause she's the best!"

That's the first time she talked ever since she arrived there.

"So your mom is an Exorcist?" Charlie asked. "Who's your mom?" Charlie kept asking, though she didn't get an answer from the angel kid. "Are you tired? Do you wanna go to sleep?" She asked shortly after.

Viol simply nodded.

Charlie caressed her hair. "I'll put you to sleep. We'll discuss what we'll do with you tomorrow morning. Ok?" She climbed the stairs and headed for the first door on the right. "These rooms are primarily for our customers, but we're running out of business these days" she chuckled.

The inside of the room had a gothic and dark decor, similar to the lobby. A bed, large enough to fill two adults was located in the corner, along with a wooden bedside table with a heart-shaped telephone and a lamp. A TV was fixated on the opposite wall and fancy closets filled the rest of the place.

Charlie opened one and a mountain of cutsey stuffed toys fell on the floor.

"Here are some stuffed toys to play with" Charlie said in an excited voice and was disappointed to see that Viol didn't rush to pick one. "Oh, I get it. You're a grown woman. You are too old to play with them" she was about to pick them up and shove them back to the closet, but then she noticed Viol slowly approaching and picking up a pink stuffed rabbit with buttoned eyes and a bow upon its head. "Suit yourself!" Charlie said. She placed her upon the bed, caressed her hair and wished her "Good night" before closing the door.

Viol curled into a ball, squeezing tightly the stuffed rabbit in her grip. That blonde lady seemed nice. And friendly. And approachable. Maybe she could trust her. Maybe she could help her. That didn't change the fact that she was separated from her mother. Were was she? Has she returned to Heaven to gather another team and rescue her? Did she believe that she lost her forever?

A handful of tears rolled down her round face, before falling asleep.

"Mommy!"

I want to apologize to all my Spanish readers for Valentino's dialogue. Spanish isn't my native language either. I'll gladly accept any correction you make in the comments.

Thanks again for reading. Small warning, but I might delay the publication of the next chapter, due to Real Life stuff going on. Be patient and I might finish the story. At least I hope to. I have trouble staying focused on long fics and for that, I prefer to write one-shots.
