Coruscant (Jedi Temple: Analysis Rooms)

After Anakin and Padme were dropped off at the Port District, Obi-Wan and Dylan set off towards the Jedi Temple to start their Investigation on the Bounty Hunter. Their first stop was the Jedi Temple Analysis Rooms, they hoped the Analysis Droids can identify something from the dart that could help them with tracking down the Bounty Bunter.

Right now Obi-Wan was sitting in a chair with Dylan standing behind him with his arms crossed. They were in front of a window with Analysis Droids on the other side, the analysis droids were JN-66 droids.

One of the JN-66 droids rolled up to the window. "Place the subject for analysis on the sensor tray, please." JN-66 asked.

Obi-Wan took out the dart from his pocket and carefully place it in the sensor tray. "It's a toxic dart." Obi-Wan said. "We need to know where it came from and who made it."

The JN-66 droid took the dart and inspected it for a moment before looking back to Obi-Wan. "One moment please." He asked, he looked over to another one of the JN-66 droid's and motioned it to come over to him.

The other JN-66 droid came over and took the dart. The Droid looked at it for a moment before going over to one of the machines in the room and placed it in it. The machine started up, glowed and started spinning around.

"This may take a slight moment, please wait." JN-66 asked.

While the two Jedi waited. Dylan pondered over something that has been bothering him for a while.

Why would some random Bounty Hunter want to kill Padme. If there is a reason, what might it be? Is it something personal? Possibly... but what could Padme have done to provoke someone to try and kill her. There has to be more to this puzzle then we realize.

Obi-Wan glanced at Dylan and saw that he seemed to be starring off into space. "Is something bothering you, Dylan?" he asked.

Dylan blinked. "Huh?" He muttered, his mind being ripped from his thoughts. He turned to Obi-Wan, who was regarding him with a quizzical eyebrow raised. "What did you say, Master?"

"Is there something troubling you?" Obi-Wan queried.

"Oh, well I was think about this Bounty Hunter. Why does some random bounty hunter want to kill Padme so badly, why her out of every person in the galaxy. Why is it specifically her?" Dylan asked. "From just a brief moment I've talked to Padme I can tell she is a kind and selfless person, I've also heard from somewhere that Padme was queen of Naboo at one point and her people loved her. What could she have done to make someone so angry at her they try to kill her?"

Dylan turned to Obi-Wan. "Master, are you aware of anyone who might hold a grudge against her?" He inquired. "I remember during my history classes, I learned that you were present at Naboo a decade ago and fought in the Battle of Naboo."

Obi-Wan nodded. "I did fight in it, and I know of someone who has a grudge against Padme." He revealed, "Nute Gunray. Padmé defeated him during the Battle of Naboo. He was behind the Naboo Invasion and tried to force Padme into signing a treaty. But despite all of this, after he was arrested the Republic Court found him not guilty. A few years ago, he joined the currently growing Separatist Alliance, and he hasn't been heard from since."

"Could it be that he's the one orchestrating the assassinations targeting Padme?" Dylan suggested. "Not the bounty hunter, but rather the person funding them."

Obi-Wan reflected on this; Dylan's theory seemed plausible. Nute Gunray had harbored a grudge against Padme since the Battle of Naboo. It's conceivable that he is the one financing the Bounty Hunter to kill Padme. Plus Padme is from the Republic, which is currently at odds with the Separatist Alliance.

"First, we need to uncover the identity of this Bounty Hunter before we can discover if there is another person involved." Obi-Wan said.

The computer before them emitted a series of beep's, prompting Obi-Wan and Dylan to glance at the monitor, where they observed data being transmitted.

"Markings could not be identified." JN-66 revealed. Obi-Wan and Dylan looked at the monitor with surprise. The droids couldn't be right... could it? Though Droid's are never wrong... from time to time.

"This can't be true." Dylan exclaimed surprised. "Can it?"

"As you can see on the screen, subject weapon does not exist in any known culture." JN-66 revealed. The other JN-66 droid came over and handed the droid the dart. "Probably self made by a warrior not associated with any known society."

"Well this could be a problem master." Dylan said, looking at Obi-Wan who stood up from his chair.

Obi-Wan nodded. "Yea." He agreed quietly.

"Step away from the sensor tray, please." JN-66 droid asked.

The sensor tray popped open and Obi-Wan retrieved the dart from inside. "Thank you for your assistance." Obi-Wan said.

The Jedi Knight examined the dart with a contemplative expression. "This might pose a problem, master." Dylan remarked. "How can we track down this Bounty Hunter if we can't figure out the dart's origin?"

An sudden idea struck Obi-Wan's mind. "I know who can identify this!" he declared. He gestured to Dylan, inviting him to join. "Let's move!"

As they left the Analysis room, Dylan looked confused about whom Obi-Wan was talking about. "Master, who are you talking about." Dylan questioned confused.

Obi-Wan looked at Dylan with a smile. "An old friend of mine." He revealed. "His name is Dexter Jettster"

(Coruscant: Collective Commerce District/CoCo Town)

Obi-Wan and Dylan strolled through the bustling streets, walking past other pedestrians and zipping speeders. "The fact that the Analysis droids couldn't identify the dart is surprising. The Jedi Temple is filled with thousands of years worth of knowledge." Dylan exclaimed.

"The Jedi don't know everything Dylan." Obi-Wan said.

"I know I'm just saying, i-it's surprising." Dylan replied. "I hope this Dexter person can help us identify this dart."

"I have confidence that Dex will be able to assist us. He has experienced and witnessed a great deal throughout his life." Obi-Wan remarked.

"Who is this Dex person anyway?" Dylan asked curious.

"Dex is an old friend of mine who I met back when I was a Padawan, he used to run a diner on a different planet before relocating to Coruscant to establish it here." Obi-Wan added, "I even brought Anakin here a few times when he was younger. The food here is great."

"A diner and it has great food?" Dylan remarked, a smirk creeping onto his face. "I should definitely tell my buddy Cameron about this place, he eats a lot of food. It's amazing how he stays in such good shape despite his appetite."

Obi-Wan chuckles. "I can imagine." He said. He looked up ahead and noticed a familiar building in the distance. "Looks like were here."

"Okay, lets see if Dexter can help us identify the dart." Dylan said.

(Coruscant: Dex's Diner)

Dex's Diner was packed full of different people, ranging from all types of species across the galaxy. The waitress that was serving food and drink's to the customers was a pink WA-7 droid.

The WA-7 droid spotted Obi-Wan and Dylan as they walked into the diner. Recognizing their distinctive attire, she called out to Dex. "Someone to see you honey!" She yelled. "Jedi by the look's of them."

In the kitchen, preparing meals, was Dexter Jettster, a male Besalisk, he had four arms, light brown skin and yellow eyes. As he gazed out the kitchen window, wondering what WA-7 was shouting about and quickly identified Obi-Wan, although he was unfamiliar with the other Jedi accompanying him.

"Obi-Wan!" Dex gasped.

Obi-Wan greeted the owner of the diner with a smile. "Hello Dex." He said.

"Take a seat with your fellow Jedi, I'll be right with ya!" Dex said before walking away.

Obi-Wan and Dylan walked over to a nearby empty table. "He seems, cheerful." Dylan chuckled.

"Indeed, one could say he has quite a colorful past." Obi-Wan elaborated.

"You wanna cup o' jawa juice?" WA-7 questioned rolling behind the counter.

"Oh, yes. thank you." Obi-Wan answered.

The two Jedi approached the vacant table and took their seats in the chairs, but not before rising to acknowledge Dex as he made his way towards them.

"Heeey, old buddy!" Dex exclaimed, arms wide open. Obi-Wan grinned, approached, and embraced the Besalisk. As they shared the hug, Dex laughed while Obi-Wan gave him a friendly pat on the back.

As Dex stepped away, he spotted Dylan just a foot away, observing the the two of them greet each other. "Greetings! I'm Dex, the proud owner of this fine establishment." he said as he walked over to Dylan.

Dylan smiled. "Nice to meet you, I'm Dylan Shan." He introduced himself, shaking Dex's hand.

"So are you Obi-Wan's new apprentice? I thought you were still teaching Young Skywalker?" Dex questioned.

"Oh I'm not his Padawan, I'm a Jedi initiate working with Master Kenobi on a case." Dylan divulged.

"Ah, alrighty then!" Dex chuckled before gesturing over to the empty table. "Come on sit, sit!"

Obi-Wan and Dylan approached the table and took their seats. Dex walked over and sat across of from them, though struggling a bit to fit in the chair due to his considerable size.

"So, my friends, what can I do for ya?" Dex asked.

Obi-Wan reached into his pocket and grabbed the dart, he then showed it off to Dex. "You can tell us what this is." He asked before setting it down in front of Dex.

Dex looked down at the dart and gasped with surprise. "Well, whattaya know!" He gasped. He grabbed the dart and started inspected it. "I aint seen one of these since I was prospectin on subterrel, beyond the outer rim."

The WA-7 droid came rolling over with 2 drinks on a tray. "Can you tell me where it came from?" Obi-Wan asked before glancing at the droid for a moment. "Thank you."

Dylan reached over and grabbed his drink. "Appreciate it." He said. He took a small sip from the drink. His eyes went a little wide. "WOW this is a good drink."

"I know right, one of my favorites." Dex laughed before returning to the discussion at hand. "Anyway, this baby belongs to them cloners. What you got here is a Kamino saberdart."

Obi-Wan looked puzled. "I wonder why it didn't show up in the analysis archives." He questioned.

Dylan nodded. "It's like you said Master Kenobi, the Jedi Order don't know everything." He said. His eyes narrowed a little. "But the Jedi Order has been around for thousands of years. Surely we would have picked it up."

"It's these funny little cuts on the side that give it away." Dex explained. Showing off the dart to Obi-Wan and Dylan. Both of them looked closely at it. "Those analysis droids only focus on symbols. Huh!"

"I should think that you Jedi would have more respect for the difference between knowledge and... wisdom." Dex chuckled.

Dylan shrugged. "You got a point." He muttered.

"Well, if droids could think, there'd be none of us here, would there?" Obi-Wan joked, he reached over and picked up the dart and looked at it. "Kamino. I'm not familiar with it. Is it in the Republic?"

"No, no. It's beyond the outer rim, outside the Rishi Maze." Dex revealed. "Should be easy to find, even for those droids in your archives."

"These, uh, Kaminoans keep to themselves." Dex said. "They're cloners. Damn good ones too."

Obi-Wan nodded slowly. "Cloners. Are they friendly." He asked.

"Oh, depends." Dex said smirking.

Obi-Wan looked a little confused. "Depends on what, Dex?" He questioned.

"On how good your manners are." Dex said.

"That's great! As long as we stay polite, everything will be fine." Dylan remarked, taking a small sip from his cup.

"However, there's something else young Shan." Dex remarked.

Dylan appeared somewhat puzzled by this. "What are you trying to say, Dex?" he inquired.

"It also depends on how big your, uh, pocket book is." Dex said chuckling.

"Ohhhhh." Dylan muttered.

Obi-Wan smiled and looked at the dart. "Hmm." He hummed. He put the dart back in his pocket and looked over at Dex. "Well we appreciate your help Dex. How much do we owe you?"

Dex let out a light-hearted chuckle, waving his hand dismissively. "No need to worry about it, it's on the house. I'm happy to help out a friend, whether they're an old buddy or someone I've just met," he said.

"Oh, that's great, because I don't really have any credit's." Dylan confessed, feeling a bit embarrassed. "I've spent most of my life training as a Jedi and never had to worry about having money."

"Welcome to the galaxy young one." Dex laughed.

20 minutes later

Coruscant (Jedi Temple: Jedi Temple Library)

After saying goodbye to Dex and leaving his Diner, Obi-Wan and Dylan headed back to the Jedi Temple, currently the both of them were in the Library.

Obi-Wan gazed at a bust of Dooku, deep in thought, while Dylan wandered off in search of a book on planets, hoping it might provide some assistance.

Jocasta Nu walked over to Obi-Wan and stood next to him. "Did you call for assistance?" She asked.

"Yes. Yes, I did." Obi-Wan replied before looking back at the bust of Dooku. Jocasta looked over that the bust and sighed, reaching over and placing her hand on it. "He has a very powerful face, doesn't he?"

"He was one of the most brilliant Jedi I've had the privilege of knowing." She said.

Obi-Wan frowned. "I never understood why he left the order." He said.

"Well, one might say he was always a bit out of step with the decisions with the Council." She said. She looked over to Obi-Wan and smiled. "Much like your old master, Qui-Gon Jinn."

Obi-Wan smiled and a little at the mention of his former master. "Really?" He asked.

Jocasta laughed a little. "Oh yes they were very individual thinkers." She said, she looked over at the bust and gave it a look. "Idealists."

"In the end I think he left because he lost faith in both the Jedi Order and the Republic." She explained. "He disappeared for nine of 10 years and turned up recently as the head of the Separatist movement."

"Hmm, I still don't quite understand" Obi-Wan said.

Jocasta laughed briefly before recalling something important. "However, I believe there was one other reason for his departure from the order." she disclosed.

Obi-Wan looked at her with a curious look. "What is it?" He questioned.

"He was annoyed at the Jedi Order, he was constantly getting backlash about his Padawan who broke the Jedi Code, but that didn't bother him, it was something else. Something Dooku told me."

"What was it Dooku said?" Obi-Wan asked.

"I still remember the exact words he said to me 10 years ago." Jocasta said. "Dooku said, The Jedi Order abandoned Noah Shan."

"Dylan's father." Obi-Wan said.

Jocasta nodded. "Yes, while Noah broke the Jedi Code by having a relationship with a woman named Naomi. He was loyal, kind and powerful, more and more trait's that are popping up in Dylan." She said. "Just like Qui-Gon and Dooku, Noah was unorthodox."

Just as she was ready to elaborate on her thoughts regarding Noah, Dylan approached them, carrying a book that explored star systems and planets.

"Master, I sadly haven't found anything related to the planet Kamino." Dylan said placing the different books on the table. "I've skimmed through it and found nothing. Not even a mention of it."

Obi-Wan pondered for a moment, stroking his beard thoughtfully. He then turned his gaze back to Jocasta and explained, "This is precisely the reason I sought your assistance, Master."

He walked over to one of the computer terminals and sat down in front of it. "We're looking for a planetary system called Kamino." He said. "It doesn't show up on the archive charts."

Dylan approached Obi-Wan and took a seat beside him. "We even attempted to trace a dart used by a bounty hunter in a murder. Unfortunately, the Analysis Droids couldn't help us identify it, so we decided to consult someone that Master Kenobi is familiar with to see if they had any idea to what it is. It turns out the dart originated from a planet known as Kamino.

"Kamino." Jocasta muttered. "It's not a system I'm familiar with. Are you two sure you have the right coordinates?"

Obi-Wan nodded. "According to the information given to Dylan and I, it should appear in this quadrant here, just south of the Rishi Maze." He explained pointed at a small part of the screen.

Jocasta leaned over and pressed a few buttons on the Computer terminal. The screen zoomed in and it showed no planet.

"That's impossible!" Dylan gasped. "There's no planet? Then where did the dart come from."

The Librarian looked at the Jedi Knight and initiate with an apologetic gaze and sighed. "I hate to say it, but it looks like the system you're searching for doesn't exist." She revealed.

Obi-Wan wore a puzzled expression. "Impossible. Perhaps the archives are incomplete." He speculated.

"If an item does not exist in our records." Jocasta Nu said. "It does not exist."

She turned around and walked away to help a youngling who was standing a few feet away. Obi-Wan looked back to the computer and placed his hand on his beard. Very puzzled.

"This cant be right Master, I could sense that Dex was telling the truth." Dylan said leaned back against his chair. "This dart is from Kamino, yet Kamino doesn't exist, this is very strange"

"Yea it is." Obi-Wan muttered.

'If only we could talk to someone who would know many things about the galaxy.' Dylan pondered.

Not even a second later an idea struck him in his head. 'Why not just go talk to Master Yoda! No offense to him, but he's very old so he's witnessed countless things over the past 800 years! So he could know what Kamino is!' He thought.

Dylan looked over to Obi-Wan who was still starring at the Computer terminal in thought. "Master!" He said.

Obi-Wan looked at him with an eyebrow raised. "Yes?" He asked.

"We could ask Master Yoda! He has been alive for almost 900 years, so he has seen many things over the years. Maybe he could have an idea of what Kamino is!" Dylan explained.

The Jedi Knight nodded at him. "That's a good idea, lets go." Obi-Wan said.

Dylan and Obi-Wan stood and walked out of the library to talk to Master Yoda, but Dylan needed to return to the library because he forgot to put away his books.

Obi-Wan and Dylan walked through a large open area, passing by several other Jedi. They eventually reached the location where Yoda was at. Turn's out It turned out that Yoda was engaged in instructing a group of younglings.

"Reach out. Sense the Force around you." Yoda instructed.

"Use your feelings, you must." Yoda said. Both Obi-Wan and Dyln walked into the class and stood in front of the group of younglings.

"Younglings." Yoda said. "Younglings!"

All of the younglings deactivated their lightsabers and took off their training helmets aka WJ-880 blinding helmets and looked at Master Yoda, including the two guests that were in front of them.

"Visitors we have." Yoda revealed. "Say hello to Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi and Initiate Dylan Shan."

"Hello Master Obi-Wan and Initiate Shan." The Younglings said simultaneously.

"Hello." Obi-Wan said smiling at the group of kids.

Dylan gave a small wave at the group of kids. "Hey there." He said smiling.

Obi-Wan and Dylan turned to look at Master Yoda. "We're sorry to disturb you, Master." He said.

"Yea sorry." Dylan said with a slightly embarrassed smile.

Yoda shook his head smiling. "What help can I be, Obi-Wan, Dylan? Hmm?" He asked.

"We're looking for a planet described to us by an old friend of mine." Obi-Wan explained. "I trust him, but the systems don't show on the archive maps."

"I even looked it the planet in some books about star systems and planets, but nothing came up." Dylan recounted crossing his arms in thought.

"Hmm. Lost a planet, Master Obi-Wan and Initiate Dylan has." Yoda joked glancing at his class. "How embarrassing. How embarrassing."

The kids giggle at the joke. Dylan rolled his eyes and had a playful smirk on his face. "Very funny Master Yoda." He said.

Yoda chuckled before looking at one of the younglings. "Liam, the shades." Yoda instructed.

The kid named Liam walked over and pressed a button that closed the shades. "Gather round the map reader. Clear your minds... and find Obi-Wan and Dylan's wayward planet we will." He said.

Obi-Wan approached the map reader and set a small orb on its surface. The orb illuminated and displayed a multitude of planets and stars throughout the room. As he moved around, Obi-Wan scanned the surroundings in search of the location of Kamino.

"It ought to be... here!" Obi-Wan said pointing at an empty spot. "But it isn't."

"It's really strange, it's not in the archives either." Dylan revealed.

"Gravity is pulling all the stars in teh area towards this spot." Obi-Wan explained.

"Hmm. Gravity's silhouette remains, but the star and all the planets, disappeared they have." Yoda said making all the younglings look at him. "How can this be?"

Yoda looked at the younglings with a thoughtful look. "Hmm? A thought?. He said. "Anyone."

"Master?" A youngling named Nicky said. Obi-Wan, Dylan and Yoda looked towards the boy. "Because someone erased it from the archive memory."

Obi-Wan smiled at the youngling. Dylan leaned over to Obi-Wan. "Smart kid." Dylan whispered to Obi-Wan. The Jedi knight shook his head slightly with a smirk.

Yoda chuckled. "truly wonderful the mind of a child is." He chuckled. "Go to the center of gravity's pull... and find your planet you will.

Yoda, Obi-Wan, and Dylan made their way to the room's exit, with Obi-Wan using the Force to draw the galaxy projector towards him and stowing it away in his pocket. As the shades retracted, the room was illuminated once more.

"Hmm. The data must have been erased." Yoda said.

"But, Master Yoda, who could empty the information from the archives?" Obi-Wan asked. "that's impossible, isn't it?"

"Dangerous and disturbing this puzzle is." Yoda said. "Only a Jedi could have erased those files. But who and why, harder to answer."

"This is worrying Master's." Dylan said. "But... I have a feeling its connected somehow."

"Hmm? Explain, if you can." Yoda said.

"A Bounty Hunter dispatches assassins to kill Senator Amidala. Then the Bounty Hunter eliminates one of his own assassins using a dart crafted from a planet known as Kamino. However, both the planet and any related information are not in the archives," Dylan recounted. "If the youngling's assumption is true and details regarding Kamino have been removed from the Archive, and if true a Jedi was one to delete the information. Then this suggests that there is a more to this mystery then we truly realize at the moment."

Yoda and Obi-Wan listeen and nodded to what Dylan was saying. "That does make sense." Obi-Wan agreed.

"Hmm. Meditate on this I will." Yoda said before walking back into his class.

Both Dylan and Obi-Wan walked away.

"So I guess we're going to do what Master Yoda said, and go to the location where Kamino is supposed to be?" Dylan suggests.

"Yes, we are." Obi-wan replied.

Dylan nodded. "Okay, lets get going, we've got a missing planet to go to." Dylan said.

Authors Note: Hey guys! Sorry the chapter is shorter then my usaully longer chapters. But I feel like this was kind of needed. I wanted to include Obi-Wan and Dylan going to Kamino in this chapter, but it felt right to include them going their in the next chapter. Anyway I hope you have a good rest of your day or night and see you in the next chapter!
