Harry Potter doesn't belong to me , but to JK Rowling. Harry Potter characters, settings, ect. are not my property. I'm only borrowing them!

Rated for mild language and child abuse. I don't condone the abuse of children (or anyone) but this is how I see the Dursleys.

Sirius Black was sitting on his bed in Grimmauld Place thinking. He was worried about Harry but he knew Minnie would contact him if there were any problems.

Just as he thought that, there was a soft knock on the door. In came a disheveled Molly with tear streaked cheeks and glassy eyes.

Sirius immediately stood up, he knew of Molly and Minnie's plan and wanted to be part of it so desperately. But that wasn't his main concern right now, "Is Harry okay? Where is he?"

Molly shook her head, "He's okay now, but they were planning on killing him! Had me and Minerva not been there, he would have died…"

Sirius paled, he didn't think it would be that severe. He stood up and grabbed his cloak from its spot on the chair, "St. Mungos or Hogwarts?"

"Hogwarts. He should be awake in about ten minutes."

Sirius nodded and apparated to Hogsmeade

Harry looked terrible. His entire torso was covered in bruises, cuts, gashes, welts, and whip lashes. Sirius didn't even look up when Poppy and Minnie entered the room, not even registering he was an Azkaban escapee and Poppy didn't know he was innocent.

Minnie sat in a chair next to himself, her eyes wet.

Molly turned around, "I am going to inform Aurthor Harry's condition," she said before exiting the room.

Sirius knew it was likely because she didn't want to deal with the initial conversation. Sirius didn't either but he knew it had to be done.

Sirius sat there for another minute before Harry's eyes fluttered open, "What happened?" he asked weakly

Minnie looked at him, "What do you remember of your summer break?"

Harry cringed, "My uncle was angry Dumbledore sent him the letter about Voldemort's return so he took it out on me, I wrote a goodbye letter because I thought I was going to die."

Harry looked down at his hands, "I 'glared' at him while cooking breakfast so he beat me. When I woke up again there were two guests, they sounded familiar but I couldn't place their voices,"

Minnie nodded again, "That was Molly and me, we were worried about you so we came to check on you," she explained

Harry looked at her, "Thank you, I would have died. He was going to kill me."

Sirius felt so bad. He thought maybe Molly was overreacting, but based on Minerva's lack of surprise to that statement, she wasn't. If Molly hadn't told him the monsters were in jail, he would have killed them himself.

"After you heard us, what happened?" Minnie pushed

"I was in a lot of pain and I fell asleep. I woke up a while later, but I don't know what time it was when my uncle came in. But I was still in too much pain to even think of reacting. He hit me a lot and told me he was going to kill me that night for burning breakfast and asking a question…" Harry trailed off

He was about to continue his tale when Sirius found his voice again, "He was going to kill you for asking a question?!" he yelped, "What did you ask?"

"It was my fault, I asked him why I was being punished,"

Sirius lost it. He grabbed Harry by the shoulders and shook him before realizing what he was doing, "It. Was. Not. Your. Fault. Harry. Potter. Never. Say. That. Again!"

Minnie was on her feet in an instant, grabbing him by the shirt, she yanked him back.

"You moron!" She yelled, "This is not the time!"

Sirius knew she was right and that it wasn't his godson's fault he was brainwashed, but he was angry just the same.

Sirius turned back to Harry, "Continue," He growled

Harry didn't respond. He was staring at the foot of his bed muttering apologies.

Sirius felt terrible. He was going to apologize, but Minnie beat him to it, "Are you alright? Sirius is sorry, he was upset with the Dursleys, not you." she explained

Sirius nodded and Harry looked up at his eyes, searching for some sign of anger. When he found none he continued, "He hit me with a belt then carved my arm with his knife," I fainted again and I assume he left.

Minnie nodded and Sirius thought of all the things he would do to Vernon Dursley if he ever escaped Azkaban.

"That night, I don't know what time it was, he and Dudley woke me up. They had whips and were hitting me with them for about two hours when Professor McGonagall and Mrs. Weasley, who looked different at the time, entered. I lost consciousness at that time because I knew I would be safe," he finished.

Sirius moved to put his hands on Harry's shoulders but stopped at his flinch. That's when he saw it: A word carved into Harry's arm in messy writing. Motioning for Minnie to follow him, he left the room.

Minnie watched as Sirius lost his composure, "His arm d-did you see his arm?"

Minnie nodded, "Y-Yes. He has the same inscription on his thigh. It was too deep for s-scar cream,"

Sirius buried his face in his hands, "So he will have that scar forever, anytime he looks at his arm he will see a reminder of his horrible childhood?"

Minnie nodded again, "That's not even the worst thing," she handed him a letter written on muggle parchment and read it over.

"He-he blames himself?" he asked, he had to have misread. It was in no way his fault!

"Y-yes. He thinks he is to blame for Diggory's d-death and thinks that he has done something wrong because the elephant was treated c-correctly…"

"What do we do?"

"I don't know, but he can't go on blaming himself"

Minnie's eyes were full of tears. Sirius had never seen her cry but it made sense if she ever would, it would be now.

Sirius was always an optimistic person, it's how he dealt with his own parents and rejection, "At least the Dursleys cannot harm him anymore. They're already in Azkaban,"

Minnie shook her head sadly, "For now. Albus is trying to release them,"

Sirius was shocked, "Why!?"

"He wants Harry to live with him so the blood wards can continue to work,"

"That's ridiculous! They would kill him!"

Minnie nodded, "What we need is to find a new family for Harry before Albus finds a way to release him, we both know he will,"

"I wish I could do it but the documentation must be official, what about the Weasleys?"

"They already have too many kids,"

"Tonks?

"Narcissa would find out and the entire wizarding world would know within a day,"

Sirius thought he knew where Minnie was going with this, but he wanted to mess with her for a bit longer, "Augusta?"

"She holds her grandson to high standards, imagine the boy-who-lived."

She did have a good point, "Amelia Bones?"

"She already has her niece, plus Amelia's schedule is so tight she would never have time for him."

Sirius sighed, he had yet to suggest her because he was trying to get her to do it herself, but he didn't know that many other people, "The Grangers?"

"Muggles. The family has no way to defend themselves,"

"Neither did the Dursleys,"

"Fine, then let's send him back there."

Sirius smiled sheepishly, "Hagrid?"

Minnie burst out laughing, "Firstly, he's still in France, and secondly, he lives in a one-man hut on the edge of the forest, makes friends with dangerous animals, can't cook to save his life, and also cannot do magic! Harry would die before he turned 15!"

"Snape"

Minnie stared at him, "Neither of them would ever agree!"

"Plus he lives in the castle for most of summer, so he wouldn't have much extra time…" he had her now.

"Well that's not an issue, just not him."

"Dumbledore then?"

"You're messing with me now!"

Sirius grinned, "Just admit that you want him and we can move on."

Minerva looked at him sheepishly, "I don't."

"Okay. Filius?"

"Fine I admit it, I want Harry…"

Sirius grinned. Maybe this was going to turn out okay.
