Title: The Monster They Made
Part 10: The Wrath of a God
The ruins of Shanghai smoldered beneath the weight of death and destruction. The once-thriving metropolis had been reduced to ash and rubble, its towering skyscrapers now nothing more than twisted steel and crumbling debris. Fires raged uncontrollably, their orange glow flickering against the darkened sky.
And then… the air changed.
A low, unnatural hum filled the devastated landscape, a deep vibration that sent shudders through the earth itself. Quest's body began to glow.
It started at his chest, pulsing outward like the slow beating of a monstrous heart. The glow spread along his arms, down his legs, crackling with raw, untamed energy. His massive dorsal plates burned with a neon blue, electricity dancing along their jagged edges.
And then…
BOOM.
A violent shockwave exploded outward from his body, tearing through what little remained of the city. The force of it sent flaming wreckage flying, toppling any half-standing buildings left in the aftermath of his atomic beam.
The Nuclear Pulse had been unleashed.
It was a force of pure devastation.
Any aircraft still airborne? Instantly fried by the electromagnetic surge. The remaining jets and drones patrolling the outskirts of Shanghai fell from the sky like dead birds, their systems overloaded in an instant.
Surviving structures? Reduced to dust. Even reinforced bunkers beneath the city crumbled under the sheer energy wave that radiated outward.
The very air itself shimmered with the aftershock.
And then, silence.
A silence so deep, so profound, that even the distant crackling of fires seemed to vanish in its wake. The world stood still. No screams. No movement. Just death.
Quest tilted his head back and let out another roar. Not as ear-splitting as his last, but still earth-shaking—a victorious bellow that echoed across the ruined land. It wasn't just a roar…
It was a warning.
To the nations watching. To the leaders cowering in their bunkers.
To the world.
The monster they made was not finished.
He had just begun.
End of Part 10.
