It was night time once more for the Ketchum family, as we see Amari sleeping in his room.
After days of being tormented with insomnia and stress, he was able to get some much needed rest.
Unfortunately, that was all going to take a drastic turn...
He opened his eyes to a red, dark, gloomy void, its atmosphere giving a dreadful-like feeling.
His mind felt disoriented, like as if he were falling endlessly.
He felt drowsy, yet not completely tired...it was a weird feeling.
Of course, it still woke him up abruptly.
'Mmn...what...?' The boy opened his eyes groggily, before they snapped open in realization.
He looked around, his surroundings very unfamiliar.
'Where...where am I...? Why am I here...?!' Amari exclaimed, his tone a mix of fear and confusion.
Hello, mortal. A deep, booming voice echoed throughout the void, making Amari tense in fear.
It sounded familiar to Arceus' voice, but with a much more menacing, threatening tone to it.
Do not be afraid, I have no intentions of harming you. The voice spoke, as it revealed itself.
A large gray draconic-figure with three gold half-rings on each side of its long neck.
It's head had a gold crown-like object surrounding it with two large horns pointing sideways, a thick black stripe running vertically along its front with five red horizontal stripes.
I am Giratina, the God of Death and Afterlife. The figure said, staring at Amari with it's glowing blood-red eyes.
Amari panted, unable to speak as he looked at the godly figure in front of him.
What was he supposed to say?
He had never seen a Pokémon like this, at least besides Arceus, but at least he looked trustworthy.
This...thing looked like it would kill Amari just for breathing incorrectly.
He took a deep, shaky breath, looking at the draconic god dead in the eyes.
'What...do you want from me...?'
The figure stared at Amari for a while, before speaking once more.
I only wanted to meet the child of my father.
Amari blinked, realizing what the draconic was referring to.
'Arceus...of course...' Amari said, sighing.
It explained a lot, as much as he wished it wouldn't.
Why else would this presumed "God of Death" want something with him?
I would like to ask a simple question, Amari. The Pokémon spoke.
Amari looked at the Pokémon uncomfortably; He knew that this was going somewhere.
'W-What is it...?' He asked hesitantly.
Do you truly believe that you are Arceus' child? The draconic figure asked. 'Answer truthfully; Do not lie in his name.' It said sternly.
Amari froze, unable to respond.
It was a really good question, and a important one at that.
It's the same question that plagued his mind since the day he met Arceus.
The same one that caused him so much distress and confusion.
He took a deep breath, looking at the draconic god once again.
'I...I'm still trying to figure things out.' Amari said. 'I want to say no, I really do..., but...'
But?
'I don't have any proof that denies the possibility.' Amari said, frowning. 'From having dreams about him, to actually communicating to him...there isn't anything else I can say has happened that denies my relation to him.' He continued, fidgeting his fingers anxiously.
...You are correct in your explanation; Though you two don't have physical proof of your relation besides DNA, you have experiences with him that under normal circumstances, would be impossible to conceive. The draconic Pokémon explained.
His ability to directly address you from your subconsciousness and talk to you in your dreams is proof that you two are indeed, related, as these are special permissions Arceus grants to those he deems worthy or needed to him. The draconic spoke, looking at Amari with what seemed to be a expression of agreement and understanding.
'I guess I understand, but...why are you asking me this...?' Amari asked hesitantly, looking at the draconic with a look of confusion.
I was only curious of your opinion, nothing more. The draconic god said dismissively, almost as if he were trying to avoid the question.
Amari didn't believe the draconic god's intention for a second, but he knew better than to prod a god for information; last thing he wanted to do was to anger it.
Now that my curiosity has been sated, I will return you back to your world. The god said.
Amari's eyes widened in panic.
'W-Wait, I still have questions, you can't just-!' He tried to say, as he felt himself becoming drowsy.
We will meet again, sooner than you think...I look forward to our next meeting...
The draconic god said, chuckling almost villainously.
Light blinded the boys vision, as he opened his eyes to see that he returned back inside of his room, the time now being morning.
He looked down to see his Eevee, looking at him with a confused expression."Eevee...?" Tera chirped, tilting her head.
"I'm fine, Tera...just...had another weird dream..." Amari said, sighing as he rubbed his temples.
His thoughts were immediately popped when he say a pink fuzzball of joy pop into his face, it's blue eyes gleaming brightly.
'Amari! Delilah says to come downstairs; breakfast is ready.' Mew said, startling the boy.
"Knock next time, please...?" Amari asked, taking a deep breath to calm himself down.
'You know I won't~!' Mew said, floating back downstairs.
Amari sighed once again, getting up from his bed.
"C'mon, girl...let's go." He said.
"Eevee!"Tera chirped, trotting behind her owner.
Amari meets Giratina, and he's met with more conflicting feelings.
Things are becoming more intense for the boy...AUTHOR'S NOTES:
