"Good morning everyone! Its been a tough week so I took us out of rotation for the day. Just finish up your paperwork." Voight stated as the team relaxed for the day. It had been a tough week so the whole team was thrilled for the extra time to relax. The team worked on paperwork as Kims phone rang. She didn't recognize the number at all but it was from the area her parents lived in. "Detective Burgess speaking?" Kim answered confused but interested. "Kim my name is Hailey and you have truly upset my daughter. How could you!" The women screamed. "Um who exactly are you? And how exactly could I have upset your daughter?" Kim was calm but very confused as were the team. She placed her phone on speaker phone just in case.

"You sent Halloween gifts for the boys but not my daughter!" Hailey screamed again. "Um again Im confused as to who you are. And how you knew I sent gifts to my great nephews." Kim replied getting more than annoyed. "You know who I am! Bailey told me he talks to you all the time and that he told you about us." Hailey was frustrated. "Oh well yeah we dont talk. Havent in months. What happened to Christina? Wasnt that her name? Anyway I dont know you or anything about you or your daughter. So let me make this very clear. Dont ever call me again! You obviously snoped through his phone to get my number. Im not sure what trailer park he pulled you of but let me give it to you straight. He will never put you first! He will waste money on all things unnecessary. He cant pay his bills. He mooches off his family. He likes popping out kids. And if he breaks up with you he will sell your shit online. Plus hes a cheater. Good luck!" Kim hung up quickly after that. She was beyond frustrated.

"Well that was interesting. Are you okay?" Adam asked. "Im good. That was just bullshit. And petty. But blocking that number now." Kim shrugged. "I looked into it and he does have a girlfriend who is named Hailey and she does have a child. Not with apparently. But yes block her. Last thing you need. So lets get this day finished." Adam hugged her tight knowing that had to have bedn frustrating for sure. "Yes lets finish this day. We have to get home to the kids and plans for the weekend." Kim smiled knowing it would be a fun weekend ahead. "Im so very excited to get the Halloween costumes with the kids. Its going to be so much fun." Adam was excited to be picking out costumes for his first Halloween as a dad. "Me too! The first as a family. Its going to be epic." Kim smiled using his verbiage. "That is for sure. Hopefully after this Mia will be less grumpy about Winter coming. Shes a trip but its going to be a long winter if she doesnt come around." Adam smiled but gave her a very knowing look. "I agree. But I feel the same way. Just dont show it like her." Kim laughed remembering the foot stomping and the pouting.

"Maybe if we show them the fun of fall and winter it will bring them around?" Adam offered as a compromise. "I highly doubt that but we can try. My girl is all summer, all the time. Im surprised she doesnt try to turn the heat up. We are so lucky she loves a cozy blanket." Kim knew it could be worse. "So very true. Lets get this done!" He returned to his desk letting her finish up her work. The whole team decided to do lunch at noon as a group. They all walked to the local diner to enjoy a lunch together. "So how are you feeling after that call this morning?" Erin asked. "Fine! She got off easy. I love making stupid people cry but it wasn't appropriate at work. Just another entitled piece of garbage." Kim shrugged it off. "Lovely. She sounded like a treat!" Jay laughed. "Oh lord shes got to be stupid for falling for his crap. And personally I dont think its good for the kids to have a revolving door of trash walking through. But all he sees is free labor." She rolled her eyes.

"What did you send in the gifts?" Adam asked unsure. "Um halloween masks, lightup skull necklaces, play dough, craft projects to paint, sun catchers, some candy. Nothing too crazy. They wont say thank you so Im not sure why I bother. But apparently Im a glutton for punishment." Kim smiled knowing it was true. "Hey its not the kids fault their parents are assholes. I thinks its nice you still try." Al knew that it was probably hard for her to draw the line with the kids. "I agree. But its still hard. Especially when they act like its never enough. The youngest I've never even met. I was sick when he was born and then they didnt bring him to Christmas Eve because he was too new which I agreed with. Turns out that was a lie since they took him to his fathers house the next day. But what got me most was the hospital wasnt allowing anyone to visit since Covid broke out again. But the parents were letting people visit with just washing their hands. That seemed reckless." Kim shook her head.

"How old is the kid now?" Kevin asked. "Um 2 on December 17th." Kim answered thinking back. "That does sound reckless. What did you have?" Antonio asked. "Upper Respiratory Virus. I let them know I was sick and wouldnt visit and they never responded. Just ignored it like I said nothing." Kim shrugged a bit. "So that was the Christmas disaster right?" Adam put the time frame together. "Yup!" Kim sighed. "It was the right call. Always remember that. They dont deserve you." Adam hugged her knowing her mond was spinning. "Change of topics. What are the kids going as for Halloween?" Kevin asked. "Oh lord I think they are trying to kill me. Mia wants to be the cartoon cat from Instagram and Milo wants to be the galaxy cat from Instagram. How they even know about this baffles me. But really its just two black cats with different characteristics. One has a white face, chest and feet. One that has a body covered in what looks like shooting stars. Oh and dont forget the dog needs a costume too." Kim shook her head as Adam laughed.

"It could be worse! At least its not Disney characters!" He laughed poking her sides. "Okay thats very true! That would be pure torture!" Kim shuddered thinking about it. "I cant wait till next year! We will have own little own to dress up." Erin was excited to have them here already. "The first one is fun but they don't remember it. So take lots of photos. And you get to keep all the candy." Kim smiled thinking about it. "Exactly same with the first Christmas. You dont have to make a huge deal with the gifts. They would rather play with the paper and ribbon anyway." Al added knowing lots of first time parents over do it. "Yes! And others will over buy for your kids anyway so dont stress over it." Antonio added. "So very true! My sister got 15 presents for Greys first Christmas. It was dumb." Kim shook her head. "Yeah thats too much. For any kid. I really dont get that." Adam was shocked. "Well she was kind of like Bitchinia, buying love." Everyone stared at her. "What?" Kim asked confused.

"Who is Bitchinia?" Kevin asked cracking up. "My grandmother. She was horrible, hence the name." Kim shrugged. "Gotcha. She still alive?" He asked as a follow up. "Nope died in September 2020. She was the last one." Kim shrugged not caring about it. "What are we doing for the holidays?" Adam asked as everyone broke into seperate conversations. "I dont know. All I know woth 100% certainty is that I dont want to be driving around all Christmas day. I want the kids to just enjoy the holiday without rushing. I dont even care if we all just sit in our jammies all day in front of the fireplace. Just sounds like the perfect day." Kim smiled thinking about it. "Sounds like the perfect day. I agree with you. So thats how it will be. Just us and the crazy kids." He watched Kim beaming with happiness.

"Maybe we invite my mom, sister and nephew over for Thanksgiving?" He hoped that would be okay. "Yeah I like that idea. It will be nice to spend time with them. We dont do that enough." Kim agreed as they finished eating. "Sounds good. I will make sure I invite them now so we can get it all planned." He kissed her head and sent the message hoping it would work out. "You ready to head back?" He asked knowing they needed this done. "Yeah Im ready to be done today." They paid for lunch and started the walk back wrapped together. "This is comfortable." She rested her head on his chest as they walked. "Yes it is. Tonight we rest just like this." Adam wanted this for the rest of the day. He needed the break from the crazy week. "Sounds perfect!" Kim smiled leaning into him more.

They all arrived back at work finishing up all the left over paperwork. Thankfully it wasnt too much longer till they were all able to head home for the weekend off. The couple was happy to head home for a bit before getting the kids. "Should we pack some before we get the kids from school?" Adam asked. "Yeah we can do that. We can at least get the summer clothes packed. And maybe weed out the stuff we dont like anymore." Kim suggested. "Sounds good. I think thats a good idea. Clear through some storage too. We did merge two homes earlier this year." He watched her smiling knowing they rushed the move. "Im sure we have lots of things we could get rid of. So lets start the purge. We can drop it off on the way to get the kids." Kim knew they had a lot to move but they had a team to help get it done.

The couple arrived home shortly after letting Gunner run around outside for a bit. "Should we start in the basement?" Adam suggested. "Yeah Im good with that." Kim moved towards the basement knowing there was a ton to move out. Kim started with a box from Queens. She opened the box seeing a bunch kitchen items that were supposed to be donated already. She moved it towards the stairs. She opened the next box seeing several books. She took each out looking them over places them to the side. Adam joined her watching her from a far. "What did you find?" He asked seeing her smirk. "See for yourself." Kim handed the book to him. "Oh wow! How old were you here?" He saw a photo of her with a bunch of other kids in what looked like the cafeteria. "Senior year of high school." She smirked. "Interesting how you are laying on several guys laps." He looked at her somewhat confused. "They were some of my best friends. Lost touch with most when I moved away." She looked at the photo.

"This one still lives next door to her parents which is next door to her brother. And this one died from Cancer." She watched him smile looking at the photos. He looked further through the book finding a piece of paper towards the back. "Oh what did I find? A love note?" He laughed seeing the overly folded piece of paper. "Nope but that is embarrassing." She laughed but turned bright red. "Oh this has got to be amazing to have you turning red!" He was laughing as he opened the piece of paper. "Top 10 Senior Bodies?" He read the list before his eyes went wide in shock. "Seriously! Holy hell girl!" He hugged her tight laughing as was overly embarrassed by it. "Thats great! I love it!" He was still laughing but she was over it. "Lets keep looking through the boxes." Kim smacked his chest softly. "Okay whats this book?" He showed her the book.

"Thats the kids baby book. From the moment I got pregnant with them." Kim smiled fondly looking at it. "Wow look how tiny they were when you found out." Adam looked at each page watching his kids growing. "Was this right before you went into labor?" He asked seeing how large she was. "Yeah. That was 36 weeks with twins. It really wasnt that bad. Labor was so painful. It lasted for hours. I never thought it would end. I hated feeling that helpless. But it was worth it in the end." Kim turned the page showing him the first photos of each child after they were born. Screaming covered in blood. But in her arms as she cried tears of joy and love. She looked up to see him crying softly seeing his children just born. "Absolutely beautiful. Like nothing I have ever seen before." He kept turning the pages looking at each photo. He found photos of her breastfeeding the newborns. He cried more tears of joy. Kim could see all the emotions crossing over his face.

"This is absolutely crazy! I love them even more. I love you even more!" He hugged her tight as they cried together. "This is what I wanted. Feeling loved. Having my children loved." Kim cried ugly tears as Adam held her. "Next time you will have it all. I promise." He held her till they both stopped crying. "Ready to continue." He asked seeing her nod wiping her eyes. "Alright we still have some time." Adam moved to his boxes to start clearing out the clutter. It was insane how much stuff they needed to actually get rid of. They moved the 10 boxes to the car to donate to charity on the way to pick up the kids. It felt like a relief to get rid of all the stuff, the clutter. Not just the clutter in their house but in their minds. They felt lighter as they picked up the kids from daycare. It was almost like the happiness was radiating off them. The couple moved closer to the school getting the kids. "Hey babies!" Kim called out. "Mommy! Daddy!" Both kids yelled as they ran to their parents.

Kim hugged both kids and Adam scooped the kids up hugging them tight. "Lets get home so we can keep packing for the new house." Adam knew the kids were excited for the new house. But they had no idea how much work it was. They arrived home moving right back to the basement. The kids were playing happily in the basement as the couple continued to sort the boxes. "Kiddos look some of your baby clothes!" Kim opened the box further showing them all the items. "This was the outfit you two wore when you guys came home from the hospital." Kims eyes watery. Both kids looking at the clothes as Adam watched from a far. He loved watching her in these moments. He could see her processing the future by reliving the good times of the past. They only moved on after the kids grew bored. Adam took them outside to play in the leaves with Gunner as Kim cooked dinner for her family.

He knew they had a lot to talk about later but for now they were all happy. Both kids laughing hard outside. Adam was loving this. He was scooping up arm fulls of leaves dropping them on the kids heads. They were loving it and laughing. Even Gunner was get in on the game trying to bite the leaves as they fell. Kim had been watching from the windows enjoying the scene before her. It was what she always wanted. She stepped out to let them know dinner was ready. "Dinner is ready!" Kim called out seeing her family running for her. "Wash up please!" Kim reminded them as they headed in. "Baths for them tonight. Sorry!" Adam laughed as he kissed her. "Its all good. They were having fun thats all I care about." Kim kissed him slightly harder before moving to the kitchen. "They had a blast! I doubt they will make it to bedtime." Adam laughed as he washed his own hands. "Agreed!" Kim smiled putting dinner on the table.

The kids were placed in their high chairs to eat their dinner. Adam plated their food and cut it up in to small pieces. The kids dug in right away starving from playimg so hard. "Im not sure they are even tasting it." Kim laughed watcing them. "They played hard. Im not surprised by this. Are we doing more boxes after this?" He asked unsure how she felt about it. "Maybe a few more. Not sure we have a ton more to pack from down there. This weekend we need to get boxes so we can get this done." Kim continued to eat her dinner. "Sounds good. Since we move next weekend." Adam smiled. He couldn't wait to get it done. "Oh I know. Its crazy how fast this has all gone." Kim couldn't believe it was moving so fast. She would have loved for time to slow down. "Kids would you like more?" Adam asked. Both kids nodded. Adam gave them a small bit more not wanting them to eat too much.

Once dinner was finished Adam took the kids up to wash them while Kim cleaned up the kitchen. She could hear the laughter coming from upstairs. She could only imagine how messy it was up there but knew Adam would clean it up. When she heard the tub draining she headed up the stairs to the bathroom. Kim waited outside the door waiting to catch her son. The door opened giggles filling the hallway with Adam already holding Milo who was partially dressed already. "Perfect! Lets go little miss. We need to get dressed so we can play games before bed." Kim followed her daughter to their room. Kim helped Mia get dressed in her jammies while Adam dressed Milo. "So I think taking Milos pull ups right go the bathroom before bath time will prevent the streaking. As soon I put his pull up on he stopped trying to run." Adam explained. "Good to know. How dirty was the bath water?" Kim asked. "Gross! Brown! But it was so worth it." Adam laughed loving that time with the kids.

The family moved back down the stairs pulling out a game for the kids to play. "So this weekend we need to pack for moving to the new house. But we also want to let you kids pick out some new clothes for winter. I know yoi both have your own fashion sense so we think you can starting picking out your own clothes." Adam let the kids know. Mia seemed excited, Milo not so much up. "Then next weekend after we move we can go get pumpkins to cut for Halloween." Kim explained knowing the kids would be thrilled. "Love!" Mia yelled loudly. The couple laughed, shaking their heads. "Maybe we could find a corn maze? Ive never done that." Kim asked Adam unsure if that was a thing here. "I think we can find one here. I will look into it." Adam wasnt sure where to find one but he would look. Anything to give his family every experience he could. Kim smiled as they continued to play the game with the kids.

When the kids started to crash they were carried to bed. Gunner following them as always. He always slept next to the kids. "Alright my babies. Good night my loves." Kim gave them both kisses before Adam followed suit. "Good night kiddos! Love you both!" Adam whispered. "Love you mommy and daddy." Milo whispered with his eyes closed. "Night mommy and daddy!" Mia whispered as she was falling asleep. The couple left the door cracked as they headed out the room. They headed to their room to pack their suitcases full of summer clothes. It was just easier to move later. It was only an hour later before they headed back down the stairs. Adam grabbed two drinks from the fridge then moved to sit with Kim.

"Tell me how you are feeling seeing all the baby clothes again?" He knew she was feeling a lot. "It was crazy seeing them, holding them, smelling them again. I felt flooded with emotions. Mostly love. I remember being so overwhelmed in those first months. But I loved them so much. No matter how tired I was, no matter how overwhelmed I was, it didnt matter. I just loved them so much." Kim looked up seeing his eyes filled with love and understanding. "Watching you looking at them, I dont know. Gave me hope that we will get there." He saw her smiling. "Seeing your face as you looked at the baby book, melted my heart. Showed me whats possible. Showed me that you would truly love any other children we have. Still not sure Im there. But today was big for me, for us." She finished her drink, moving into his lap to kiss him passionately.

"Bedroom! Now please!" He whispered as he kissed her neck. "You need a shower first. The kids werent the only ones who need a bath." Kim laughed. "Well lets shower then. I will wash beforehand. I know thats a thing." He watched her getting flustered. "Lets go then!" Kim jumped up heading to the bathroom. She grabbed a few pieces of clothes heading in to the bathroom. She started the shower waiting for Adam to arrive. He had cleaned up their drinks before joining her. He found her under the water already, her back arched but not getting her hair wet. She heard him growl. He striped his clothes jumping in behind her. His hands wrapping around her, pulling her against him. "Let me wash quick." He wanted to be buried inside her but he knew he was dirty from being outside in the leaves. As soon as he was clean he lifted her into his arms.

He pushed her up against the cold tiles. He kissed her madly. Pushing her inside her hard and fast. "God damn." Kim moaned as Adam pounded in her. "God I know baby!" Adam groaned loving her legs wrapped around him. He groaned louder when she clamped her core on him. Making it tighter and harder for Adam to thrust. "Darling god that feels amazing. So crazy hot!" He groaned out kissing her hard loving how her mind was working. Her arms wrapped around his neck. One hand on the back of his head. The other on his back digging her nails in. Kim broke the kiss biting into his shoulder as she came hard. Her body shaking against his body. He groaned loudly as he came right behind her. He slumped against her feeling her core releasing its hold.

He helped her down still holding her tight. He couldnt break the hold. He could feel her tears on his chest, it had been that emotional for her. "Crazy good darling. Love work Kim showing herself tonight." He kissed her hard as they continued to stay attached. "Bed time?" Kim winked as she started to get out. He jumped out turning off the water quick. He higged her tight though she bad a towel wrapped around her already. "I love you so much!" He smiled watching her in the mirror. "I love you too. So so much!" She smiled back her arms holding his. "I feel like today brought us closer together. Like the wall came down further." She watched his eyes process her words. "Completely agree. Now hurry up with the lotion so we can get this Top 10 Body into bed!" He winked kissing her cheek as he seperated to dry off before heading to bed. He knew she would take a bit but that was fine.

When she exited the bathroom he smiled brightly. "I love the smell of that lotion." He mentioned as she got into bed. "Well then we are screwed. It's discontinued and the company no longer sells products in the US. Might need to take a trip to Canada." She laughed s bit. "Well that sucks! They dont ship here?" He asked shocked. "Nope! I tried! Im freaking out! Ive used thos company since I was 13 for my hair and body care. And I know Im being dramatic but I have no idea how to handle this!" She laughed though she was bummed. "You are not being dramatic at all. I know how much you love these products. Especially since they are not tested on animals. But we do have to figure out a back up plan. Not sure going to Canada is going to be a financially smart option." He watched her pout but she knew he was right. "Technically Michael is closer to the right part of Canada." She smirked but laughed knowing he would deal with this level of craziness.

"Yeah I doubt he will go. Im sorry but I think even he will call you nuts for thinking of heading to Canada just for shampoo and conditioner." He hugged her tight chuckling softly as she pouted against him. "We could take the kids to Niagra Falls! One is literally across from the falls on the Canadian boarder!" Kim tried to bargain with him. "We can talk about it more when its not late at night. Im afraid I might go along with this crazy plan if we stay up much longer." He tickled her a bit loving her laughing against him. "Fine! Good night! Love you!" She still pouted. "Love you too. Night my love." He pulled her into his arms settling her against his side as they fell asleep together. It had been a crazy day but the wall finally was crumbling. They were excited to how far it would fall.
