Harry Potter belongs to JK Rowling. I am not her, obv.

Severus:

Severus Snape was sitting in his study in Spinner's End when there was a knock at his door. The man was both annoyed and curious; not many knew where he lived after all. Expecting either Narcissa or Albus, Severus opened the door.

"Hey, Snape." It was Tonks, who looked like she didn't quite know why she was there.

"How did you find my residence, Tonks?" Severus asked the witch testily.

She gave him a cocky grin. "I asked my mum, who overheard Narcissa telling her husband."

Severus felt his eye twitch. "Why are you here?"

Tonks looked around nervously. "May I come in?"

"No." Severus was about to slam the door in his previous student's face but she stuck her foot in the door.

"It's about Harry." She explained. "He and Hermione are hiding in London, but they are going to need more than that to hide from Albus."

"And why, may I ask, should I care for that pam-insufferable brat?" Severus knew Potter wasn't pampered now, but he was most definitely insufferable.

Tonks rolled her eyes, which were a bright shade of blue, similar to Moody's. "Because the minister is planning something to get rid of Harry, and I need to find out what."

Severus debated with himself for a moment. "Fine."

A few minutes later Severus did what he never thought was possible; he was drinking tea and having a friendly conversation with a hufflepuff. 'I have gone 'round the bend, it's official.' The man thought to himself.

"Harry and Hermione are hiding in the Bloomsbury hotel for the time being, hiding from Albus, who is determined to keep Harry ignorant of the order-" Tonks explained.

"Albus will find them, he has plenty of devices tracking Potter." Severus informed the young witch.

"-Tomorrow they will be going to Diagon Alley and Gringotts to get married." Tonks spoke over Severus as if he had not spoken.

"Potter and Granger are getting married?" Severus asked, unable to hide his shock.

"Yes." Tonks explained. "Hermione will get political protection and will be able to enter Potter manor that way."

"Where they can hide from Albus." Severus finished.

Tonks smirked. "Yup."

"Must I say, that was very Slytherin of you, I didn't think you had it in you." Severus told the witch before he registered what he was saying.

Tonks raised an eyebrow. "Thank you, sir."

Severus felt his cheeks heating up and he hurried to occulade. He was not attracted to his former student.

Obvious to her former professor's internal struggle, Tonks continued. "I am going to have Harry add Minerva, me, and you to the guest stone and remove everyone else."

Unsure of what else to say, Severus corrected the -surprisingly cunning- witch. "You, Minerva, and me."

Tonks rolled her eyes. "I want us five to meet up at Potter manor on Friday to talk about any future developments."

Severus rolled his eyes. "I doubt Potter and Granger are going to be okay with me in their home." He said shrewdly.

Tonks rolled her eyes. "Harry doesn't have a problem with you when you're not being a 'stingy dungeon bat.'" She laughed.

Severus sighed. "I suppose I can control myself for one night."

Tonks winked. "How come you're agreeing?" She asked. "Not trying to stop you, but it's unlike you."

Severus sighed. "When I was a child, I experienced how horrible Tuney could be first-hand. No child should be subjected to that; not even Potter."

"But what are you helping him now?"

"If Albus finds Potter, he will return him to Tuney and her husband. I could not live with myself if I didn't do anything I could to stop a child from being abused."

Tonks smiled. "You've gone soft, sir."

Severus scowled. 'She's not wrong,' Severus mused. 'I have told her more about myself than anyone else, besides Lily.'

"Out." Severus ordered to cover his now pink cheeks. "I will be over at one o'clock Friday, please inform Potter and Granger."

Tonks smiled once more. "Ok I'll inform the Potters."

Severus thought about that comment for a while, much longer than he dared admit. They reminded him of another young couple, one smart, another an arrogant show-off.

It wasn't for another twenty minutes that Severus saw three letters Tonks left behind. He opened them and saw three letters addressed to him from Potter, Granger, and Minerva.

Severus-

Hopefully Nymphadora only left this with you if you agreed to help Mr. Potter and Miss. Granger.

I talked to Miss Granger before she left her residence and I think you deserve to know the truth of what happened. I assume that you would only agree to help Potter and Granger if you saw Potter's home situation for yourself, so I will not spend too much time on that, however I do have some insights into young Mr. Potter's personality, which will hopefully help you accept him better.

Firstly, Potter is not arrogant. I don't know how you could even think of him in that way knowing Petunia Dursley. The boy's self-esteem is very low and you do not help it by berating him every moment of the day. I think both of you could benefit if you stop getting onto him about his, and Mr. Longbottoms, potions when they are not too far from the desired result.

I must also stress upon you the importance of secrecy, obviously you cannot tell ALbus anything, as you likely assumed so there's no need in mentioning that. However, I do not wish for you to mention this to me ever as ALbus is totally unaware and you and I are not known for being best mates.

Minerva

Severus rolled his eyes. Minerva could be so extra, he was the head of Slytherin afterall.

But maybe Minerva was right about Potter. Maybe he wasn't arrogant. Living with Tuney cemented that thought into Severus' head and, try as he might, he was unable to shake it.

Severus sighed and picked up the letter from Potter.

Professor Snape,

Firstly sir, I would like to apologize for how I have treated you. I understand that you are a professor, and should be treated with respect. However, I also wish that you minimize the vulgar comments aimed at me and Hermione on Friday. I couldn't care less in class, but I do not wish to be insulted in my own home.

Furthermore, I wish you to bring with you any information you have with you about my mother and father's rings. I believe you have some information as you obviously knew my aunt and she grew up with my mum. I would not ask you unless it were very important.

Thank you,

Harry Potter

Severus thought Potter's letter was quite… respectful considering what Severus knew to expect from the boy.

Severus did have information on Lily's wedding ring, although he didn't know what it was.

After Lily's death, Severus was left three notes from Lily. One was for himself and two Severus was told to give to Potter 'in due course.' One was said to contain information on Potter's and her wedding rings, and the other was a personal letter. Severus didn't know how to approach the letters with Potter, but it appears he didn't have to worry about it as Potter was -for once in his life- taking initiative.

Severus picked up Granger's letter last, expecting it to be full of questions on various potion's topics.

The professor was mistaken; Granger's letter was not full of questions, but threats.

Professor Snape-

This letter is not full of questions, as one would expect, but a threat. Harry does not know I am writing this, and I wish it to remain this way,

To start, I am appalled by your teaching ability. You write the recipe on the board and tell us to get started! Not only do you not help us, but you ridicule the other students and me for your own entertainment. Neville and Harry have it the worst by far, but all Gryfindors, and likely Ravenclaws and Huffelpuffs, suffer from your ire.

Now here is my threat: I have blackmailed Rita Skeeter, who is an illegal anigmus, into not writing lies about Harry and me in the paper. If you continue to ridicule Harry in our meeting five days from now, I will help Skeeter dig up all the rubbish she can on you and you will be nothing more than a convicted death eater wasting away in Azkaban.

Your student,

Hermione Granger

To say Severus was surprised would be an understatement. Granger was capable of blackmail, who would have known?

The professor was not surprised Skeeter was an animagus, she had to be getting her information from somewhere.

It would also not surprise Severus if some of the students who were directly quoted, such as Draco, knew about the reporter's illegal form and didn't care.

Severus didn't sleep at all that night, thinking instead of hot ex-students, blackmailing know-it-alls, and abused boys-who-lived.
