Hello, my amazing friends! So, today's prompt is a part 1 practically, part 2 will be the proposal chapter. But that prompt is later in the month, though I promise you'll see how Callum proposed. Just not today sadly. Hopefully you enjoy it!

Day 4 prompt: Wedding
DRAGON PRINCE
Callum loved Rayla, so much that she did as well. It was a well-known fact amongst all the kingdom, many of the villagers begging him to finally propose. It really didn't matter if she was an elf, and although some people were hesitant to have a moonshadow elf as their princess, they could all see the love in their prince's eyes.
It enough to pull them over
So finally on September 9th, the young prince proposed to the moonshadow elf. It was a joyous day, filled with many tears. Both from the couple and the surrounding people watching the encounter. Everyone went to bed satisfied that night. Stories were told to the children that night, about the gift of true love.
And although it was a cheerful occasion, it was also a complicated one
Planning a wedding was far from easy, or at least that's what Rayla was currently learning. Callum tried to help plan it as well, but he really didn't know what they wanted. So, the moonshadow elf kindly told her fiancé to go help elsewhere.
Of course, the young prince had let out a relieved sign, kissed her gently before going to help the rebuild efforts. Luckily Ethari and Opeli were nearby, and by some miracle, had a good chunk of knowledge on how to plan a beautiful wedding.
"How many people do you want? The whole village?" Opeli grabbed a nearby parcel of paper, while also grabbing a quill.
Ethari frowned. "I know it's a royal wedding, but I know you and Callum also don't love huge crowds. Maybe you want a smaller toned-down wedding?"
"I see you're point," Rayla nodded. "And me and my fiancé have decided that we want a more small wedding, with just family and friends present. Simple as well, minimalist."
"What are you hoping for a cake?" Opeli asked.
"What about flowers?" Ehari added on.
"Oh! And what of the venue?"
"Why not have it in the castle?"
It was almost too much for Rayla, she didn't have any answers sadly. And at the present moment, the young elf didn't really want to plan anymore. Even though Callum hadn't really helped, she realized just in that second that she needed her fiancé to help plan.
In reality, Rayla didn't know what she wanted either
"I need a breath of air, excuse me."
Standing up, the young elf quickly walked to her fiancé's study. As that's where he always happened to be. And even if he wasn't, Rayla needed a reminder of him.
She opened the door, silently hoping that Callum was where he always was. Luckily it seemed that luck had been in her favor.
"Ray? What's wrong?" Callum asked, twirling around to see her worried face.
Before she could stop herself, the young elf came crashing into her fiancé, clinging to him as she took in several breaths. His heartbeat, touch, all brought her to silently sob.
Who knew that planning a wedding was so hard?
"I couldn't do it; it was too much." Rayla took in a sharp breath. "I'm sorry love, I just couldn't handle it."
"Oh honey, it's not your fault. I should've been there." The young prince gathered his lover in his lap, gently stroking her back. "But I'm here now."
"What if I'm never ready? For this? What if I screw it all up?"
"Ray, look at me," she raised her chin to look at him. "A wedding is a wedding; it's just a celebration. What matters is that it's the celebration of two people connecting with each other. I don't need a wedding to tell you that I love you so much Rayla, and I always will. No matter if everything goes wrong."
He leaned up, gently leaving a soft kiss. Rayla looked up, wanting to steal another one, all to which Callum happily gave. Then, she rested her head on his shoulder, letting a relieved sob.
Rayla hadn't truly realized how stressed out she had been. Or how much pressure she was putting on herself to make it perfect. Which in reality, didn't need to be.
As Callum had said it, a wedding was simply a celebration. All that really mattered was the people involved and the love that they felt for each other. When put into that perspective, nothing else really mattered.
"Can we have it at Slivergrove?" Rayla asked quietly.
Callum nodded. "Of course, my love, we can have it anywhere you please. All that matters is you standing next to me through it all."
How did she get so lucky? Maybe it was because fate had a weird way of letting her down, then showing her that even if the mission went wrong, there was still an opportunity to embrace her happiness. Callum was her heart; she couldn't see it any other way. And she was his one truth.
"I love you so much Callum, you don't even know." The young elf whispered. "Thank you for loving me."
"You say that as if you got lucky, all you got was an idiotic prince who tried to defend herself against a moonshadow assassin."
"Maybe…."
"Well Rayla of Slivergrove, I love you to. So much." He peppered her with kisses, leaving the young elf to squeal and try to escape. "Thank you for loving me."
"I already said that!"
"Well then, I'll just copyright you. It was my thought first," he grinned. "Then again, I got it from someone."
Rayla wiped at her eyes, giving him a loving gaze. How it all happened, she really didn't know. But all she could do was count herself the luckiest girl on the girl. And no, it wasn't because he was a prince, and no it wasn't because he was so stinking handsome. Although that last one might be false.
It was because Callum had a good heart and was raised by such an embracing mother. And because he always put others before himself. And maybe yes, it was because he was stinking handsome.
So maybe their wedding wasn't going to be perfect, but at least they had each other. And that's all that counted.
