.So first person is off the list, I think I'll stick to third person. Again, I'm trying to experiment with different writing styles, some will be better than others :). Anyhow, this chapter is a conversation between Callum and someone (whom I will not say), I want you to guess on your own who that someone is. Thank you so much for reading!

Day 5 prompt: Honor

DRAGON PRINCE

He stared back at me

I stared at him

It was irreversible, something that was meant to be. His hands reached out against the mirror separating him from me, a wicked smile reached his eyes.

I refused to let him win

I wasn't him, nor would I ever be. Yet something deep inside told a different story. He was just every part of me as I was every part of him. This was his story to, and in a weird way, it was his turn.

'You need me'

That's what he said, what he assumed was supposed to make sense.

'I get it, you hate me. But we know the truth to. That only I can save them all."

It wasn't true, but then again it really was. Dark magic had been used, and my soul is no longer free of that darkness that I worked so hard to rid myself off. And even worse, Rayla didn't know. She couldn't know.

Blinking my eyes, his form didn't change. Not that I expected it to, but it was still disheartening to know it wasn't a dream. The cracks in his eyes showed their history, how it affected him. Just how it might as well affect me.

"I'm not you," I pointed out. "You're different, more confident than I ever was."

"Funny, isn't it? How fate has turned on me, on you. Really Callum, it's not a real shocker considering our history." He chuckled. "You can't ignore me forever."

My teeth gritted together. "Well, that's where you're wrong. I've avoided you for years, I can surly do it again."

"And do what? Seven years isn't a long time, young mage. He'll be back before you know it, and when he does. You'll be begging for me to return."

"I WILL NOT!"

A crack formed in the mirror, then another one. My eyes averted to the many different cracks in the mirror, but I couldn't stop my rapid breathing.

"Stop, just…just leave me alone." I begged. "Don't do this!"

He grinned. "Oh Callum, can't you see that this isn't me? It's all you."

The cracks stopped spreading, and a still mummer filled the space. Sweat dripped down my brow, mixing in with all the tears. Not just for me, but for everyone else.

"Your honor…"

I looked up. "What about it?"

"It's sad really, you pride yourself on staying true to helping other people. But in reality, you're a coward. Scared of using the only real solution that could help you restore your honor once again."

"I don't need you to do that," my voice broke slightly. "I can do that myself, without you I mean. I don't need you."

He smiled. "Fine, but you'll see. In seven years, you'll be begging for me to return."

With a final grin, he turned around leaving the mirror. To where he truly went, I'll never really know. But what he said about honor had really seemed logical, though not entirely true. I didn't need him, that part was correct.

Instead, I needed someone of whom I could clearly trust.

DRAGON PRINCE
