So…today's story prompt is very very short and I'm very very sorry. I've had really bad anxiety today and this was the best I was going to do. Hopefully tomorrow's is better.

Day 9 Prompt: Fluff

DRAGON PRINCE

Ezra missed big brother time

When they were little, their parents mandated a required 'big brother' time session. They thought it brought the boys closer together, and in an odd sense, it very well did. So much that it was almost expected.

That was…until the whole Aaravos issue

Now the young prince sat at the large window, praying that his older brother could sense his pleads. Ezra changed, that he knew. It was a good prospect, as everyone grew to be older at some point. But this time brought distance. Distance that separated him from Callum, and Callum from him.

All he really wanted was his little brother…was that too much to ask?

Almost on command, Callum opened the door. Ezra knew the footsteps perfectly; it was a common perk growing up with someone their entire life.

"Ezra?"

Usually, the young king didn't keep his emotions unchecked, kept calm under pressure. Even if inside, he felt so lost, abandoned and teared apart. But he could really be anyone in front of Callum, that including the small boy that was his inner child.

Ezra stood up, then ran over to his older brother. Wrapping his hands around Callum and burying his head in his shoulder. It felt comfortable and familiar, just how his mother and father had been to him.

"Oh, little brother, it's going to be alright." Callum soothed, picking up the younger boy and placing him next to him on the bed. He rocked back and forth, as it was something he knew that Ezra was raised to know. Raised to care.

"I c..can…can't do i..it," Ezra whispered. "I fa..failed."

"You didn't fail Ez, you tried your best."

"Do you think mom is proud of me?"

That stopped Callum in his tracks, his breathing stiffened. But his form did not, his hand continued to rub circles on his brothers back. Of course, mom would've been proud of them, she would've been jumping with joy.

He embraced his younger brother tightly. "Of course, Ezra, I bet she's here right now. Smiling at the young man you've become."

Ezra laughed, nestling deeper into his brother's arms. Callum just held him, because for once, that was all he could really do.
