"Dammit!" Zatanna shouts, clenching her wand in her fist.

"Struggling with something?" Dick asks, emerging from the zeta tube in the Watchtower.

"Dick," Zatanna says in greeting. "I've been trying this locator spell since Mary left. But Apokolips is in a whole other dimension. My magic can't travel through universes to find her."

"At least we have her partner in crime, all de-evilified and everything."

"How's she adjusting?"

"Not entirely sure. I haven't asked Conner much about her and the rest of the Team is trying to leave her to the Kents. Let her get to know her family before overwhelming her with all our questions about Darkseid."

"Must be hard living on a whole new planet where you have to relearn everything you already know," Zatanna inquires. "Though it would be nice to know a bit more about Apokolips. God knows my magic isn't helping."

"You're doing everything you can," Dick reassures her. "There's nothing else we really can do short of Boom Tubing to Apokolips ourselves, but unless we've rebranded as Waller's Suicide Squad…"

"Not an option, I know. I just wish I could do more."

"You are. With your students."

"Right. So why the visit? No one else is even here right now. Everyone's out on missions."

"I can't drop by for a quick hello?"

Zatanna smirks at him. "You didn't even know I was here."

"Touchee. I was hoping to pull up some files on the League of Shadows. It's been two weeks and Tim is still their prisoner."

"I would've thought the Batcave would have more information on them."

"The Batcave is rather crowded at the moment. I don't want Steph or Cass to know what I'm doing."

"How come? I thought they were involved."

"Yeah, and we went to Santa Prisca a week ago, but there wasn't anyone there. The entire island had been deserted. M'gann even did a scan of the place and couldn't detect any thoughts."

"Where do you think they went?"

"My first guess? Infinity Island. It's the only other known location of the League. First logical place to check."

"But you need more intel first." Dick nods. "You know, my magic might not be able to track Mary on Apokolips, but I can find Tim if he's on Infinity Island."

Dick puts a hand on her shoulder. "You're amazing, Zee. Really."

Zatanna smiles. "I know."

"I still need a plan to retrieve him. A team."

"Maybe bring a few people with powers this time," Zatanna suggests. "Not that all you Bat-folk aren't perfectly capable on your own. You've all got the stealth thing down pat, I'm just saying for Tim, some reinforcements could come in handy."

"I know. And believe me, I've had volunteers."

"Like who?"

Dick sighs. "Cassie for starters. I don't think she's slept properly since she found out he was abducted."

"Poor girl. Must be hard not knowing when he'll get out."

"Steph is the same way. There's this unspoken tension between the two of them. Another reason I don't want to involve many people. I know Cassie and Tim have a history, but I just wish the two girls didn't need to butt heads over rescuing him."

"Come on," Zatanna says. "I know he and Steph are together, but it's not fair to ask Cassie to stop caring just because they broke up. You of all people know what that's like."

Dick smiles slightly and somehow he and Zatanna end up locking eyes. "I guess I do," he tells her, then walks past her and halts.

"It's hard to worry about all your team members at once," Zatanna says.

"Again, why I hate being the adult."

Zatanna laughs. "You're far from the adult, Grayson. Sometimes when I look at you all I can see is a thirteen-year-old kid who disappears on his team."

"Yeah. How the hell did we get here?"

Now standing beside him, both staring out the window at Earth, Zatanna folds her arms over her chest. "No idea."

"So the Kryptonian just isn't an issue anymore?" Virgil asks. "The girl who destroyed a city block and took out four Outsiders, two Bat-kids, three members of the Team, and a member of the Justice League?"

"Apparently not," Garfield responds. "Conner said she's living with his folks in Smallville."

"And we're just supposed to trust that she's not going to go all evil on us again and blow up Metropolis or some other big city?"

"Look, I don't trust it either," Jaime adds. "I know Miss Martian did that mind wipe thing, but what if there's like a failsafe thing put in her brain?"

Garfield raises an eyebrow.

"Look I don't know how the telepathy thing works."

"Uh, I don't think like that," Gar tells him.

"You really think that just like that Supergirl is on our side now?" Virgil asks.

"Supergirl?" asks Jaime.

"I don't know. Superman, Supergirl. Seemed fitting."

"I do," Gar says. "I trust M'gann. If she says Supergirl's mind is clear then it is. I don't know about on our side though. She's not against us, but doubt she wants to become a superhero and join a team while adjusting to a new planet."

"She should," Vic says from the couch. The others turn to look at him. "What? I just think our team could use some more muscle. Imagine us with a Kryptonian."

"Yeah, ain't no way she's joining this team," Virgil says.

"Really, Virgil?" Gar asks. "The things she did weren't her fault. We can't blame her for them."

Jaime cuts in. "I think what he means is none of us have met this new not evil Supergirl. It's hard to trust what we haven't seen."

"Oh come on. It's not like she's flying around in a cape anytime soon. And even if she was, shouldn't she be able to? Jaime, you know what it's like to be under someone else's control."

"Which is why I'm skeptical. Sometimes you don't even know you're being mind controlled until you're blasting your teammates into space."

"Well I agree with Gar," Vic adds again. "Mind control sucks and this team is pretty crash."

Garfield sighs. "Why are we even talking about this? And where's the rest of our team?"
"Pretty sure Cassie is with Batman Inc. trying to find a way to rescue Tim," Virgil tells him.

"You know Batman Inc. isn't a thing anymore, right?"

"You got a better name for all those Bat-themed heroes running around doing what Batman says?"

"We're not all Bat-themed," a new voice says, emerging from the zeta tube.

"Dick," Garfield exclaims. "Got any missions for us?"

"Well, some of you," he tells them. "I need a few of you for my own gig."

"What kind of gig?" Virgil asks.

"One that's gonna get Robin back. Blue, Gar, you up for it?"

"Hell yeah," Gar says. "Could use some action."

"Yeah, well, hopefully there won't be a lot of that. We just want to get in and get him out. No unnecessary risks. We'll meet later in the Watchtower to discuss the plan, but right now I gotta go get the rest of our team."

"Sounds good, ese," Jaime says.

After Dick leaves, Virgil says, "He knows we have pre-formed teams for a reason right? We're not just a collection of superheroes he can pick through to take on his special missions."

"Eh, we kinda are," Vic says, still sitting on the couch staring at the TV.

"This isn't just some mission, though," Gar begins. "It's high stakes, rescuing Tim from an island of trained killers. Nothing can go wrong."

"Yeah, yeah. I get it. It's one of our own on the line," Virgil says.

"It's his brother on the line. And after what happened to Jason, I doubt Dick is willing to take any chances."
