My eyes snap open, escaping another unusual dream. While they cause anxiety, they aren't all that scary. Looking around my room slowly calms the tension in my chest and arms from my beating heart. I reach over to check the time from my phone and turn off the noise machine i use to keep most of the darkness from my thoughts while attempting rest. My eyelids open slightly wider when I look at the date. It's my 40th birthday.

Since it is early afternoon, I still have time before going to dinner with my mom. I decide to relax a little and after a half hour i get up and take a relaxing shower. While under the water, my thoughts drift to a creative fantasy. This is done to fight off depression and works fairly well when rested. I usually give myself super powers or solve complex personal issues with less effort than they truly require.
Hearing a knock on my bathroom door, I experience a jolt of fear as my roommate should be at work. I grab my towel and cover myself before grabbing a heavy bottle to use as a weapon, just in case it is an intruder. Breathing quietly yet deeply, I call out, "Trevor?"

"Nope!" is the response from a higher pitched, friendly and sounding women's voice. Opening the door, She continues, "I am terribly sorry, but i have no time to wait. I'm already 27 years late." Some frustration and self-admonition leaks through her tone.
"27 years late for what?" I ask before i can stop my impulsive nature, "Who are you? How did you break into my apartment?" While I am saying this, I am quickly taking in her lithe and muscular body language for threats. After I see none, I calm a tiny fraction and take in her appearance. She is clothed in a white sundress, flowers and ladybugs depicted on it. Her hair is a fiery natural red and is tipped in pink. Vibrant blue eyes and a faded cheek scar bring my attention to her face.

She sighs, taking a short yet deep breath and answers my questions, "Your death. Just past 13 years of age I was supposed to ensure that one of the blows to your temple was accidently full strength, thus killing you. To answer your second question, I am your Jump-Chan. I am here to take you on your jump-chain. It took me this whole time to search the multiverse for you. Timelines are tricky like that. I teleported in using magic"
Looking at her face, I see her body language suggesting she might be waiting for a response, so I nod slowly and ask, "You have any proof?" To which she lifts up both hands and simultaneously each palm gains a ball of magic, one is fire and the other is water.

She continues without truly calming my anxiety "I know you read stories like that, so I am authorized to give you a modified jump in recompense for the extra 27 years you were forced to deal with. Rules for your jump-chain are as follows: 1) All pre jump gift values are doubled/reduced by half (starting cp, pp, sp, cp-pp rate, cp-sp rate). 2) For your first two jumps, you cannot bring companions from Your Earth. 3) You can not pick your first two jumps. 4) Companions from your first two jumps are placed on Your Earth at timelines appropriate to their in jump age so they are of a similar age from their jump and with proper identity. They will gain their jump memories on your reinsertion. The rest can only join you if you pay for them to have a stasis pod. 5) After returning to Earth, B.e, my bosses, will approach you after 50 years or upon your death for a second jump run with harder difficulty. You will get a new jump-chan then as well. 6) After returning to Earth, the timeline will be reset to your 10th birthday. 7) You will retain current memoriesjump memories. 8) You will regain 1 set of powers from your jumps per year(first on 13th birthday at 8am, ending on your 23rd since you will only have ten jumps this chain). 9) Your Earth's timeline will remain the same as your memories up to your reinsertion. Do you have any questions, or can we get started?"

"Give me a moment." I say with one hand up, palm facing her. Thoughts and adrenaline fly through my head and I sit on the edge of the tub, ignoring the notice my brain tells me about my towel getting wet. Slowly breathing deep, I try to calm the rising panic. After a few minutes of silent contemplation, I stand back up with a determined look on my face and smirk falsely. Responding with, "Let's go, Jump-Chan."
Darkness overtakes my vision. My sense of gravity dispels and I feel almost weightless. A moment of time passes that I am unable to figure out the length of. Anxiety bubbles up again as I panic more, fearing that I made a mistake. Smooth stone floor is under my feet at the same moment that I am suddenly able to see again. She is standing calmly approximately 200ft in front of me, an understanding and patient look on her face. Taking slow, deep inhales and equally slow deep exhales, I calm the panic that rose and look around. I smile and ask, "So I get a cosmic warehouse? Does the cp for the list of redecoration items get doubled initially as well?"

Her gentle smile turns to a smirk, "Greedy, much? Just kidding. Yes, that is doubled since it is your first jump. You will get to keep your warehouse after ending the chain, but won't have access to it until you unlock the first jump's abilities." After the sentence she was speaking ends, a screen appears on a wall. It looks similar to a blown up Game Boy Advance. Almost like the fight communicators from Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door.

I walk over to it, continuing to look around. This place is huge. I read the jump document for the Cosmic Warehouse and learn that it's 20,000 sq ft, Was empty and I would need to spend cp to improve it. There were also some rules for it's operation: 1)As long as you are inside the Cosmic Warehouse, the doorway can't be closed. 2)Living people can't be stored in the Cosmic Warehouse. 3)Other people can enter the Cosmic Warehouse with you, but they leave when you do. 4)When the door to the Cosmic Warehouse closes, time stops inside it. 5)Only one door to the Cosmic Warehouse can be open at a time. 6)The gateway to the Cosmic Warehouse is only as big as the door that created it.

My intial budget would have been 100cp, but with it being doubled I was able to pick 200cp worth of choices. Taking my time I read over the options. There were some awesome options pick, but also more than I could purchase. Glancing to my left as Jump-chan arrived next to me, I ask, "Will i be able to purchase some of these with Jump cp?"

Receiving a nod, I quickly pick the choices I had thought I would need first, Getting 2000sq ft of Shelving, since it was free. I also picked all of the Utliities section. This gave me electrical outlets, light switches, running water and sewer pipes but no bathroom, A thermostat and temperature control system, a internet connection if the jump I go to has one, A wall of force that will seal the gateway to the warehouse while it is open, and finally a slider that lets me lower or eliminate gravity in the warehouse for easier lifting. This cost me 90 of my 200cp for redecoration.

Next came the Structures section. Looking over them again I decided to only get the Terminal which Tracks all the items brought into the warehouse and the Medbay, which can fix up anything with a pulse. That cost me 30 more. I mutter to myself, "Only 80 left. Better make it count."

Miscellaneous options were also available and I chose to purchase the Portal, Link and a single Stasis Pod. This gave me a portal with a max size of 80 sq ft, allowed me to make multiple in the warehouse for easy travel and allowed me to take 1 person with me to other jumps. That left me with no more cp. I finalized my decision in the menu and heard a sound similar to a cash register from the 1990s.

After a few moments, the screen shifted to my first jump. I breathed in sharply, "Shit. This is gonna be a tough one, even with double cp. They really aren't using kid gloves, eh?" Hearing a chuckle I look over and Jump-chan still smiling gestures back to the screen as if to say, "Just make your choices already."

"It. Took. Me. An. HOUR!" I say out loud, mostly for my own benefit. It did in fact, take me longer than that I was just frustrated and didn't want to lash out at my benefactor. I had chosen to start in Brockton Bay. I would be born June 12, 1994. Awareness of my status as a Jumper coming to me while I am 14. Leaving the Jump world at 24 would be interesting. I chose the Hero option for a background and then spent 650 cp in General perks gaining me:

Parahuman [Free]: All parahumans experience something known as their Trigger Event, where they are pushed to the edge, and in that moment of trauma their powers manifest. Though most don't get to choose the exact nature of their powers, you are different. You can fully customize everything about your parahuman ability, granting you access to the [Powers] section.

Comic Book Pretty [50]: Despite what many would think, not all, or even most, heroes are equal to movie stars when it comes to appearances, but you seem to be the exception that proves the rule. Your form is very easy on the eyes, as though you were the sculpted work of a true master. Even the most extensive scars you may gain will develop to become aesthetically pleasing, working instead to accentuate your form.

Double Life [100]: Most heroes and villains wear masks to protect their identities, either to protect them and their loved ones or to escape the consequences of their actions. It is a delicate song and dance, one that you're an expert at. You are simply excellent at keeping your identity a secret, as well as those of others. You don't accidentally give any hints, and can manage your time and activities quite well.

Trained Operative [100]: Not every parahuman is capable of actually throwing a punch, nor is even any good in a fight. You aren't one of them, either due to your past or because you've trained to supplement your powers with actual skill. Either way, you've got the same training as a member of the Navy SEALs, an expert in CQC, firearms, and a whole host of other useful skills.

Evading Observation [200]: This may very well count as a Stranger power to some, but you can't deny the effectiveness of being able to walk around like a normal person. When you aren't actively using any unusual abilities, you will appear indistinguishable to all forms of observations. Things like MRI scans won't pick up your Corona Pollentia, and Thinkers won't find anything off about you. Even if you show your abilities off, investigation won't go much deeper beyond what you give.

Super Psychologist [200]: It is an unfortunate fact that the vast majority of parahumans are, to some extent, broken. With any number of traumas and neurosis and other various quirks, it can be tough for them to return to normal society. Thankfully, you're a fully trained psychiatrist that can help even the most shattered of minds become whole once more, as functional members of society. Of course, some may take some more work than others, but at the end of the day, helping anyone overcome their demons is more than worth it.

All of those general perks were aimed at making my life less difficult. I inquired to Jump-chan about the trained operative, and super psychologist info to see if that would affect my background or would be downloaded matrix style into my head. She told me the latter would be the case. Moving to my hero perks I noticed they gained a discount so I ended up with more than I would have gotten otherwise:

Hero Perks:(100cp) Discounts for Hero are 50% off, with the [100] perks being free.

Bright Smile [100(Free)]: As a hero, you're the one with the spotlight on you at all times, and as such need to present yourself in a way befitting of such. Thankfully, you're a natural PR darling, knowing just how to carry yourself that keeps your reputation sparkly clean and any potential scandals to a minimum. Though, this is only information, and you're fully capable of ignoring all this if you've felt a change of heart.

Law Enforcement [100(Free)]: Heroes may occasionally hold themselves as people high above everyone else, but they are effectively high-powered and specialized members of a policing force, enforcing law and order wherever they can. In order to make sure there's no unfortunate accidents or misunderstandings on that front, you possess an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the law, allowing you to determine what is and is not illegal, and what you would need to act on.

Non-Lethal Takedown [200(100)]: You are not the judge, jury, or executioner, so why would you not take measures to ensure that you don't have any accidents in the middle of a superpowered brawl. Unless you really mean to, you never seem to kill your opponents, regardless of how hard you actually hit them or what you strike them with. Sure, some of them may wish they had died, but it won't happen on your watch.

Since I was going the hero route, with an acceptance of the possibility of grey areas I also chose a single Rogue perk and two vigilante perks that I thought would make school life just a bit less annoying to deal with: Rogue Perks:(100cp) Discounts for Rogue are 50% off, with the [100] perks being free.

Mind for Numbers [100]: It is said that there is one subject amongst all others being taught in schools that should count as torture; math. However, you were never one of them, with a natural proficiency for numbers and equations. When it comes to performing mental calculations, your brain may as well be one of those calculators given out in high school.

Vigilante Perks:(200cp) Discounts for Vigilante are 50% off, with the [100] perks being free.

Homemade Arsenal [100]: Without the seemingly infinite funding of the government, you've been forced to scavenge for all of your gear by yourself. Thankfully for you, you may as well be a modern MacGuyver, capable of jury rigging effective equipment for yourself out of cheap materials and possibly random trash. It may not make you a Tinker outright, but it's certainly better than nothing.

Rooftop Running [100]: Without any of the fancy vehicles that the PRT carries its troops within, you're left with the tried and true method of just running around the city on your bare feet. Thankfully, you are a master of freerunning and parkour, capable of reaching the roof of a building in just a handful of seconds and leaping onto another as though it were a stroll through the park. Picturing myself running through the city similar to Batman from the 90s cartoon, I snickered and moved to the next section. I froze, thinking to myself, "Maybe I can use this to get ahead."

I hear a laugh to my side with a response following it, "Yes you can. The people you have chosen are being allowed. This will make the rest of your jump-chain overpowered and less entertaining. The PWB will, in response, make your 2nd chain even harder. 500cp instead of the 1000cp it goes with in addition to Having 2 drawbacks give you NO cp and a scenario of their choice. Is that something you are willing to accept?" Nodding I set to work, inputting details into the companion section, saving the items for later:

Companions:(100cp) Parahuman Squad [100: Every parahuman ability is different, and can cover up the weaknesses of others should they work together. As such, you may import or create 1(50cp), 4(100cp), or 8(200cp) companions respectively. Each companion receives 1600 cp to spend on perks and items, as well as 1200 Shard Points to create their own powers. This could alternatively be used to ensure that canon characters join you. Companions:

1)1600/1600 Jadzia Dax w/ symbiote taken 1 sec before she would have been hurt by Pah wraith possessed Gul Dukat. When she materialized it was with the knowledge needed to be a jump companion. Thankfully she retained her knowledge and skills from her home universe. She picked the following options:Trained Operative [100],Super Psychologist [200],Rooftop Running [100], Stranger 8(Visual invisibilty), Thinker 8(Can perceive written text 10x faster than average), Tinker 8(Can Create Stargate tech despite not knowing what universe it came from))Power Aesthetics [Free],Noctis Cape [50],Extra Classification [100]x2,Man of Mystery [200],Costume [100],Financial Resources [50],Anomalous Materials [100](adamantium),False Identification [100],Underground Shelter [400]

2)1600/1600 Qui-gon Jinn taken 1 sec before he would have been impaled by Darth Maul's lightsaber(Trained Operative) [100],Super Psychologist [200],Rooftop Running [100],Thinker 8, mover 8, Blaster 8( Force vision, force speed and force push/pull are greatly enhanced and take minimal effort/use less force energy)Power Aesthetics [Free],Noctis Cape [50],Extra Classification [100]x2,Man of Mystery [200],Costume [100],Financial Resources [50],Anomalous Materials [100](beskar),False Identification [100],Upgraded Vehicle [200](speeder),Tinker Weapon [200](Extra Lightsaber). After making his choices, he turned to me and said, "You will also be training in the Force with me. You seem to have at least SOME midichlorians. We shall see if you can at least be trained to a Knight's level of combat."

3)1600/1600 Dinah from Worm joins my team by being saved from coil by me. I get 1 day advanced warning. She does not show up here as she will be in my first jump. I am assured by Jump-chan that she will have the opportunity to pick her cp choices. Trained Operative [100],Super Psychologist [200],Rooftop Running [100],Thinker 10, Thinker 10 (retains probabilty power while eliminating headaches, 2nd thinker power is a copy of Coil's power)Power Aesthetics [Free],Noctis Cape [50],Extra Classification [100],Man of Mystery [200],Costume [100],Financial Resources [50],Anomalous Materials [100](liquid Naqudah(stargate)in a jar),False Identification [100],Tinker Weapon [200]('magic' wand that sends people that mean her harm flying, 2 uses per day), Lie Detector [100](form of a necklace that glows green for truth and red for lie), Upgraded Vehicle [200](big wheel that can hover up to 3ft above the ground)

4)1600/1600 Shikamaru Nara taken 1 day before mission where Asuma dies.(Trained Operative [100],Super Psychologist [200],Rooftop Running [100],Brute 8(Enhanced durability, effectively doubling his natural endurance granted from Chakra), Breaker 8(Can now become one with his shadow(s)), Shaker 8(Can now generate shadows even without Chakra, quadrupling his range at the cost of a headache if kept up for more than 10 minutes consequtively))Power Aesthetics [Free],Extra Classification [100]x2,Man of Mystery [200],Costume [100],Financial Resources [50],Anomalous Materials [100](chakra metal),False Identification [100],Predictive Software [400],Simple Weapon [50](9mm hand gun with silencer)

Queen of Escalation [Optionally Free: A tall, dark haired girl who is willing to do whatever it takes to win, Taylor Hebert holds dreams of becoming a hero, though is unsure how to go about it at first, what with her power being bug control. Through some strange coincidences, she will come to believe that being by your side is in her best interests. She has been through quite a lot, so please be kind to her. Jump-chan tells me that I will be made aware of my Status as a Jumper the sameday that I trigger. My 14th birthday party. This gives me a small heads up on being there for Taylor should she still Trigger.

Next came items: Items: All Origins receive an additional [300] to spend in this section only. You may discount one item from each price tier, with discounted [50] and [100] items becoming free. You may freely import any related items you own at your discretion.(850cp)

Costume [200 discounted to 100]: Ever since Vikare, the vast majority of parahumans have adopted some form of costume, and you're no different. This outfit is completely up to you to design, and fits you like a second skin. For [Free], it's just a standard costume made out of cloth or spandex. For [50], though, this will provide you with some actual armor, enough to protect most of your vital organs at least. For [100], you'll be receiving full body protection, just enough to render small arms fire ineffective. And finally, for [200] you will have your own set of tinker-tec power armor on par with Armsmaster. I chose to model mine as a wearable version of the 2014 robocop remake. It would also collapse into and expand from something that looks like a bullet-proof vest.

Financial Resources [50]: Life in the modern world can be difficult, especially if you can't find a reliable source of income. You're in luck, though, as that is a worry you'll seldom have to think about again. You will receive a weekly stipend of $5,000 a week, which can be converted into any currency you require. Despite my companions also choosing this, I figured it would be good to have some money for myself.

Criminal Database [100]: If you want to be knowledgeable about the local criminal elements, this would certainly be worth the cost. This is an updating catalog of all local criminals within a given area, giving you a list of what their crimes are, their affiliations, and a description on any powers they may have access to. This will update with each city you visit, even in future worlds you may end up visiting. This had me remembering the batcave computer, but hopefully would come with some security features. I would also have to be careful about using the information from this due to it breaking "the unwritten rules" that cape life operated under. I didn't want the big leagues after me until I could train a little first.

Home Sweet Home [100]: Everybody needs a place to rest their heads, and you are no different. You are now the proud owner of a two story house, one that comes with a basement and garage. Though the layout is ultimately up to you, you won't have to ever pay any bills for the utilities or electricity. With your own little slice of Suburbia, it would be a great place to raise a family. Now I would have a home in this universe. I wasn't sure if it would come with to the next jump as it didn't specify, but I wanted it anyway.

Tinker Weapon [200]: Whether it's a creation of your own or something you paid for, you've got your very own tinkertech weapon. Having been pulled straight out of a sci-fi movie, these are enough to match many of the weaker powers, though it often comes at the cost of being unable to be replicated by normal people and require some pretty serious maintenance. Whether you possess a laser rifle or a lightsaber, yours will require no maintenance or refueling. The only limitation to this item is that it must be capable of being utilized by an ordinary person. A lightsaber with a purple blade. I wanted to honor one of the best Jedi ever with this color choice.

Powers: No two powers are exactly the same, and you are no exception. You will receive [1200] Shard Points to help you decide what exactly your powers are. You can convert CP to SP at a rate of 1:2.

Tinker: An ability that allows a cape to create or alter devices with futuristic technology. Class 7 [300: Parahumans should engage in pairs or trios at a minimum, two fully equipped squads should be deployed. Acquiring further intel is mandated, all acting parties should shift to the defensive or delay until intel can be acquired.(Can cause technology to work upon touch, regardless of state of functionality or durability. To activate this ability I must know how it works)

Mover: An ability that grants a cape enhanced speed or mobility. Class 7 [300: Parahumans should engage in pairs or trios at a minimum, two fully equipped squads should be deployed. Acquiring further intel is mandated, all acting parties should shift to the defensive or delay until intel can be acquired.(Can move at 5 times the speed of a olympic athlete(138.9MPH/223.5KPH) without super caloric intake. After 10 mins of use, I must spend equal amounts of time with equal speed decrease(5x speed reduction).

Miscellaneous:600sp
Power Aesthetics [Free]: The exact manifestation of your powers is up for you to decide. Whether it's a neon pink laser beam or your body is covered in cosmetic marks when activated, you are free to customize how your powers look. When I activate my Tinker ability, the part of me that is touching tech is glowing faintly and with a light gray/green outline. When I activate my Mover ability, an outline of purple and pink forms and I seem to vanish to most people due to the speed of my movement. There is minimal momentum carry-over from my movement. I'm looking at you Barry Allen!

Budding Powers [50]: It is a known phenomenon that the children of parahumans often gain similar powers themselves, albeit with much less stress than their parents required. You will find all of your children will be able to Trigger, gaining powers of their own that are similar in nature and function to your own. Just in case I have children.

Noctis Cape [50]: There are a small selection of parahumans who don't require sleep or rest at all, capable of going the rest of their lives without a hint of slumber with no ill side effects. They can still do so, obviously, and can still be forcibly put to sleep with any number of chemicals or powers. Still, it's a handy ability, and one you're sure to benefit from. You never know when some problem with the gangs of this world will take mulitple days of no sleep. Better to be able to stay awake with no consequences mentally than not, or so I thought.

Extra Classification [100]: Some powers are not so limited as to only have one classification, indeed there are hundreds of examples of different effects that combine to mix two or three, possibly even more. With each purchase of this option, you may either add an additional property to your parahuman ability, or possess another power altogether. This would allow me to have two seperate powers. The Tinker/mover combo would be good. At least I hoped so. Once they chose their cp options, my companions seemed to disappear so I couldn't really strategize very well.

Man of Mystery [200]: Some of the most prized powers are Thinkers, especially those who can see into the future or other precognitive effects. Should you wish to avoid their gaze, this may be essential. Much like Eidolon and the Endbringers, you do not register for any precognitive powers, regardless of the source. Some clever enough may figure out how to model you or perceive some of the consequences of those around you, but you yourself are imperceivable to them. I have read a few fanfic for this setting and most of them paint several villans as super scary. Better to make myself less of a target for as long as I am able. It may not help in the long term, but I might get a month or three out of it.

Special Snowflake [200]: Some of the most dangerous parahumans are those who are categorized as Trumps, who can often manipulate the powers of others. Should you fear their abilities, then perhaps you may be comforted by taking this. From now on, any and all of your powers cannot be copied, suppressed, or stolen, no matter who they are or the method they use to do so. I knew of at least three people in this universe that this will help against. Might not keep me from being kidnapped, but definitely could use the boost to escapability.

After I was done I chose robots, housing and workshop from structures for 50 cp. 9 more stasis pods, Free space, Food supply twice, loft and hardsuit from miscellaneous for 250cp. I ask and am granted the ability to bank the remainder of 300 cp for the mid point of my chain, meaning I can't access the banked cp until my 6th jump. This was acceptable as I didn't want to go digging through the cp choices of the jump for more things to buy. With my decision being final I pressed accept and the screen shifted to a timer that started with one hour.

Jump-chan took the time to introduce herself and lay down a couple of requests, "My name is Sadie. Before i was put in charge of you, I completed my own jump chain. They gave me the option to become a Jump-Chan or go back to my own world. You won't get this option until your second chain is over with. I have two requests of you. First is to have as much fun as you can during this chain. The second is to at least make it to the 4th jump. If you do this, I will grant you some kind of boon. Assuming that the PWB will let me."

She faded into nothing in order to leave me some time to mentally prepare for my first jump. I skimmed my choices, and then just relaxed on my new house's couch. Soon enough, the timer beeped with the last ten seconds and I was thrust into darkness and unconsciousness.

Brockton Bay, June 12 2008

My birthday had gone wonderfully, or so I thought. A couple of hours after noon it happened. "SURPRISE!" is yelled from a half dozen people. My neighbors, the Heberts, are over to celebrate my 14th birthday. Taylor Hebert was also celebrating her 13th. We each grinned as we had just got back from a quick mall run where we had bought each other a quick gift to celebrate what we thought would be a quiet party. Her father quickly informed us that some of his co-workers would be coming and I sighed because they would likely rope me into more "macho" challenges like they did last year. They always wanted me to "toughen up". This happened every year since I turned 10. I'm jostled as Tay bumps her shoulder against mine. Smiling I quickly give her shoulder a light push and take off running, stopping only long enough to leave her present on the table before I'm out of reach once again.

We were left to play for about 10 minutes before I hear my mom shout, "Paul! Come help me with this!" and take off even faster in that direction. It was a mistake. Making it to the front of my house I am left in shock, fear and anguish as a car veers off the side of the road and nearly hits my mom. The person it doesn't miss is my school crush that had surprised even my family. Instantly Rebecca is crushed. The car, in true Brockton Bay fashion doesn't even stop. In a rare moment of clarity amongst the rising dread I remember the weird medical equipment my foster parents have and rush inside. Minutes pass by that feel like hours. Time seems to move slower than I'd like it to, leading to an increasingly powerful anxious sensation. After retrieving the device, I skid to a stop just inches away from the one person in school besides Taylor that cared about me. It wouldn't work. The power was on, but the device didn't seem to register her.

I can hear Taylor saying something. It sounds like a garbled mess. My hands are shaking. My legs are non-responsive. I am picked up and carried inside. "Why wouldn't it work?" I remember saying aloud. No response is heard. That felt odd so I looked around and saw that everything had slowed down beyond shock should be capable of. Then the migraine hit. I passed out from the pain. Over and over while I was unconscious did I hear mom's voice say, "Paul! Come help me with this!" It felt like my head was being squeezed through a tube and simultaneously being torn in three.

When I came back to being aware of my surroundings and not just the repeating loop of grief causing words and pain I noticed a strange feeling in the back of my mind. I could feel a pair of presences briefly before they vanished and immediately i forgot what I was thinking about. I carefully opened my eyes, only to shut them again at the bright lights of my bedroom. "You gave us quite a scare, young one." A familiar baritone voice gently utters.

A hand is placed on my forehead and I can feel the lingering pain of the migraine slowly dissipate. This allowed my eyes to open without pain and I look to see five people in my room. Taylor and her father are just inside my door. My foster Mother and father are right beside my bed and my foster brother is lounging in my bean-bag chair. I let out a half-chuckle half-sob before I quietly say aloud, "I am ok now, Thank you Mr and Mrs Jinn." They both look at each other with knowing looks then I feel him lightly smack the back of my head.

I hear a gasp and look to Taylor, "It's ok, Tay. He does that whenever I don't call him "dad" because he doesn't like the super formal way I get sometimes. You know this."

"Yea but..." She starts to say before I cut her off.

"Not today, Tay. We can talk about it tomorrow after my chores. I promise. I need some time to..." I manage to get out before it hit me that I lost someone that was nice to me in a school that was vicious. I grabbed my foster mom and bawled my eyes out into her shoulder. I was briefly aware of Taylor giving me a quick hug and then letting her dad take her back home. No one else moved as I let out my grief and anguish.

Afterwards I took a quick shower to get the dirty feeling I had off my face and body.
"Ready to come clean, 'Paul'?" Qui-gon asked when I joined them at the Dinner table. I knew this would be an odd conversation as during my shower the memories I had before I became a Jumper kicked in. My abilities were exactly like I wanted them to be and I knew that while I still needed time to grieve such a heart wrenching moment, I would be ok if I could take it slow. Thankfully I had the rest of the summer and an awesome friend in my next door neighbor.

Nodding I looked at the three at the table. Slowly taking in each one while restraining my urge to act like a rabid fanboy. I gestured to Shikamaru, "Fill me in. Did you all three have your memories from the start or did they just kick in ten minutes ago like me?"

He sighed and muttered that catch phrase I had heard so many times in the anime. Then he rose to his full height in the chair and looked straight ahead as if he was giving a mission report, "I discovered my memories and awakened my new abilities on the day I turned 4 due to the loss of this world's father. My mother was not in the picture so we might see her at some point during the next ten years. He... looked EXACTLY like Asuma. I noticed that Jadzia and Qui-gon triggered a few years prior to my arrival in their home. I was adopted by them at 6. As you should be able to tell, this was ten years ago. My guess is that they triggered seperately but found each other approximately a month or two afterwards. They did not originate here."

Qui-gon and Jadzia both made sounds of agreement before he continued, "After they reconnected they came here and managed to find good enough jobs to purchase this house. Though I suspect that their purchase will be refunded through Jumper powered shenanigans soon enough. I do have the weekly money in my account as of ten minutes ago. I'm also assuming that we will have our new possessions in the Warehouse. I did not have them before today. This concludes my current thoughts on the matter."
Jadzia smirks before adding, "While this whole experience has had it's ups and downs, I am glad to be able to access the Med-bay. My knees are KILLLING me. We did a LOT of walking to get here safely. I came from Florida and met Qui-gon in Tennessee." She stands up and gestures at a wall down the hall from the kitchen. An impatient look on her face mixed with a hint of mischeviousness.

Standing slowly, taking care to move with an humorously slow gait, dodging yet another head slap, I make it to a wall that has no windows facing it in the hallway. Shikamaru, Qui-gon and Jadzia are all behind me which crowds the hallway a bit. I wave my hand and suddenly there is a whoosh sound before a hole appears in the wall. The edges of the hole seem to crackle with energy and even zap my hand when I go to touch it. I walk forward, having seen the Warehouse on the other side and knowing it was safe. Then I stop as I hear a repeating sound, similar to a pane of glass being lightly pounded on.

Turning around I look to see the field of space where the portal is covered by energy, preventing them from following me in. Sheepishly I wave my hand again and watch them walk in before waving my hand and the energy returns. Qui-gon rubs his forehead with his hand and mutters under his breath while jadzia looks irritated and then smirks. Shikamaru just walks over towards his gear. She heads my way with a look that promises mirth and pain. I yelp and rush off, the world seeming to blur as I reach the other side of the warehouse. I slam into the wall and fall down. "That hurt." I think to myself before a half-hearted knuckle is pressed into my head.

"Next time pay more attention to your surroundings." Shikamaru comments sardonically and then yelps as I hear a head slap echo from his general location. The Warehouse is bigger than I remember it being before I recall getting it's sized doubled. I look around to find the house, robots and everything I had purchased all in a decently organized location. Smiling I calmly jog over to the carefully labelled section for all of my stuff. I was thankful that this stuff was all Jumper powered as explaining where I got it all would be a pain. Maybe I was taking that for granted, but I wasn't too worried just yet. The main story hadn't started yet and I was determined to wreck the plot from the get go. No drugged Dinah for you, Mr Evil Coil.

After donning my gear, I sat in the living room of the Warehouse home and waited. One by one they trickled in looking ready for war and we set a plan. We had 24 hours to be in a spot near her elementary school. Thankfully it wasn't more than a couple miles from our house. She would be chased through a location that had two exits. One led to Coil and her doom, the other led to Qui-gon and her salvation. Jadzia would be waiting in that room, invisible and would only reveal herself if Dinah started to head to the wrong room. Shika, upon her entering the room would shut and bar the door from the outside. His enhanced durability would help against the regular grunts she would be chased by. Thankfully he also had the ability to generate a way to escape in his own shadow. I would be making my hero debut, full suit out and everything. This would grab Cape attention to the area and make it harder for Coil's goons to get away.

Once the plan had been gone over and a couple back-ups were made at Shika's prompting, I went to the computer and looked through the various information we had on this world. Crimes, identities, Powers and things of that nature were all here to be acted on. While Jadzia and Qui-gon went about making a plan for Shika, Taylor and I to learn things this world couldn't teach us, My new Ninja Brother and I went about figuring out a series of slowly escalating criminal take-downs that would build our fame as a new cape family. Additionally this would be a physical work out once we got started. We made two-man and four-man team based strategies that we would have to practice over the next couple months here in the ware house.

Being grateful for past me, I took a break from planning and went out with Shika to one of the closer dump sites for trash. Thanks to one of my cp purchases, I would be able to make some training equipment out of this. Dummies, walls, floors and such. Grinning with glee I got to work after setting an alarm for the next morning. I truly felt like I had a chance. Thankfully I didn't voice or think this as that was risking Murphey to smack me one. It is LAW after all.
