A while later, Daryl came back rushing over to me.

"what happened? are you okay?" he asked checking me all over.

"Yes I'm fine" I replied.

"I heard a single gun shot" he said looking stressed.

"Yeah, something has happened to Carl, a woman came on a horse and took Lori" I said.

"what do you mean?" he asked looking confused.

"Literally we heard the shot, and a while later some woman came like a bat out of hell on horse back, asked which one of us was Lori Grimes, she said that Carl had, had an accident, that she had to go now, and someone would come back and show us how to get to the farm" I said

"I hope little man is OK" he sighed.

"I know I'm worried sick" I replied.

"so what's the plan?" he asked.

"well I've convinced Carol that it's ok if we leave here to go to the farm, as long as we leave a note with some supply's for her to stay here and we would check back everyday for her" I said.

He rubbed my arm and kissed my head "that is the best idea, we need to stick together now more than ever" he said

"let's get everything packed up ready" he said.

"I;very sorted the one car for Sophia, Carol and I have done most of the RV we just need to sort out the truck and Shane's car" I smiled.

"how you feeling?" he asked.

" I still have a bit of pain but I can manage" I replied

"I mean emotionally?" he replied.

"I'm one million times better now that you are here" I said grabbing his hand.

"I got you, come on let's get packed up" He winked.

We got packed up as quickly as possible and wrote in white paint on the rear window on the car to tell Sophia we would be back to check for her everyday and to wait there.

I was just having my painkillers when I heard a horse galloping towards us.

I step out of the RV to see Shane on the back of a horse with some random guy.

I rushed to him and asked about Carl.

"He was stable when I left, but he's not out of the woods yet" he said.

"what happened?" I asked.

"One of the group back at the farm was out hunting, he shot at a stag but the bullet hit Carl" he added.

"So we need to follow you?" I asked.

"No I know the way now, so I can help you pack up" shane said looking around.

"we already did, and we have left supplies and a note incase Sophia comes back" I said.

The guy that had bought Shane said he would see us soon and left.

Daryl was riding his bike, I was with Carol and Dale in the RV. Tdog and Glen took he truck and Shane took Andrea in the police car.

It wasn't all that far to the farm from the freeway. I was in total shock at how untouched the place was. There was so much space the house was beautiful and the barns were in tact.

As we pulled up I saw Lori and Rick on the porch with a grey haired old man and the woman that had been on the horse was stood by the front door. Lori came walking over, but I ignored her and looked at Rick.

"How is he?" I asked.

"We need to get some supplies from the hospital, Otis is going to make the run, and we were hoping one of you would go with him. I need to stay as I am the same blood type as him" Rick replied.

"I'll go" I said.

"No chance!" Shane and Daryl said at the same time.

"Why not?" I scowled.

"You still aren't fully recovered and if anything happened to you, I'ddd never forgive myself" Daryl said. Shane gave Daryl the death stare before saying he would go with Otis.

"This is a temporary thing, you can set up camp over by the trees, but once Carl is sorted you all need to go" the old man said. I looked at Rick and he nodded.

I huffed off and climbed back into the RV. We all drove over to the trees and parked up in a safe formation. We un packed the tents and set up a small fire to boil water and some food.

I took Rick a change of clothes up to the house as I had noticed he was covered in blood.

As I stepped up to the porch, the woman from the horse came out.

"Oh hey" she smiled.

"Hey, I just thought I would bring a change of clothes, I didn't want Carl to wake up and see him like that. So would you mind giving them to him?" I asked.

"You can come in and see them if you like?" she smiled.

"Are you sure? Your Dad didn't seem very happy about us being here" I replied

"Yeah but he's not that cruel" she smiled, "I'm Maggie by the way" she held her hand out.

"Mia" I replied taking her hand.

"Come on I will show you to the room" she smiled. I followed Maggie into the house. It was exactly how I imagined it inside. It was a very traditional Christian farm house, old fashioned with bible quotes and crosses scattered around. I was shown to a bedroom that was on the ground floor.

"I will just check if they are up for visitors" she smiled and softly knocked the door. She slipped inside and a few minutes later she came out followed by the old man.

"Dad this is Mia, Mia this is Hershal my Dad" she said

"pleased to meet you" I said holding my hand out to shake it, I didn't expect for him to take it but he did.

"like wise" he smiled, "just unfortunate circumstances"

"Thank God that a Doctor was near by" I said squeezing his hand.

"I'm a Veterinarian, not a Doctor but I am doing my best" he sighed.

"Well it looks like your best is the best" I said rubbing his arm.

"I just need Otis and your guy to get back as soon as though as Carl's temp is slowly creeping up" he said getting a bit emotional.

"I'm sure they will. I really appreciate what you are doing for Carl and I am so grateful for letting us stay here whilst you make him better. You are a good man Hershal" I smiled, before stepping into the room.
