I woke the next morning like it was a normal day. I made everyones breakfast and their packed lunches for the day. Rick and the rest of them left and I prepared to leave. "please don't go" he said.
"I will be back before you know it babe, don't stress" I smiled.
9"I am stressed, if anything happens to you I will never forgive myself" he said.
"nothing is going to happen, trust me, I won't let it. I am going to collect few things and I'll be back, I just need to get the feel for being out there without being in pain" I said.
He held me tight for ages, not wanting to let me go. I finally managed to pull away from him.
As I walked away he called out to me "Mia I love you"
"love you too Daryl" I turned and winked at him.
It was a beautiful sunny day and for a while I got lost in my thoughts, I wasn't going out to look for sophia but I kept my eyes open for any traces for her. I knew where I was going. I had been craving mexican food for the last week and I had remembered a place that I had gone too when I was dating Shane. It was a little place in the middle of nowhere but it had done the best food, and there was a little store attached to it. It wasn't far from the highway and it would take me around an hour or so to get there. I decided to keep off the roads incase anyone was about. It was around 40 minutes into my walk when I came across my first walkers, there were 3 of them and I took them out easily in a few seconds. I didn't see anymore until I arrived at my destination. There were two of them trying to reach a bird on the roof of the telephone box. I took them down and then I banged on the glass of the shop. I listened but heard nothing, so I entered the building with caution. To my surprise the shop had barely been touched. It seemed to have been trashed but most of the stock was still there. I had a field day, filling up everything I could to carry back. I had a collapsible trolly bag which i filled with tins of everything pickled products, flour and spices. I filled my back pack with more things until I could just about carry it. It was going to be a struggle to kill any walkers but I would do my damned hardest to for Mexican food.
I had my sandwich and a drink before I set back off to the farm. The trolley was louder tban expected and I had to keep stopping to kill walkers it was attracting. Once I was half way back to the farm I felt like I wasn't alone. I thought it was probably more walkers but to my surprise it was a real person. I put my hand on my gun, incase they wanted my supplies. When I looked closer I saw some familiar blue eyes and blonde hair. It was Jax, the leader of sons of Anarchy, the gang Juice was in.
His eyes lit up when he saw me, and started grinning. "Well hello darlin'" he said.
He had always been so polite and respectful to me, and if I needed to know anything he would always keep me in the loop. I didn't know what I was thinking but I reached out and gave him the biggest hug. He kissed the side of my brow and looked at me.
"I thought you were dead Mia" he laughed.
"me? Never" I giggled.
"how are you, who you with?" I asked.
"on my own today, but we are at TM, it's done us ok sunce all this happened" he smiled.
"how about Juice?" I asked.
"he's still alive and kicking, he won't believe him when I tell him you're alive. Shane told him you had died in the hospital." he said gritting his teeth.
"yeah, you're not the only ones he told that" I replied shaking my head.
"So you got a safe place? With people" he asked.
"yeah with Rick, his family and Shane unfortunately. Also a few other people that we joined along the way" I replied.
"I won't ask where, because the less I know the better" he nodded.
"yeah I get it, I won't say I seen you especially when it comes to Shane" I said.
"you can come and visit us though, I trust you completely" he said rubbing my arm.
" you won't shoot me on sight?" I laughed.
"course not, I mean my mother might" he laughed.
"do you need anything, I mean we don't have much, but if you need anything"
" we are all good Mia trust me. If anything goes bad where you are you know where I am babe" he said.
"thank you" I smiled. We spoke for a little longer before parting ways. As I carried on back to the farm, I was shocked to find that I was good knowing Juice was alive, I didn't have the urge to rush to TM to see him. It had put my mind at rest. Maybe Daryl was exactly what I needed and wanted now and I couldn't wait to get back and see him.
I finally reached the boarder of the farm, which I was so happy about, as I was sweating like a bitch and I had most definitely taken far too much. My back and shoulders were killing.
I heard Dale call out to Daryl to tell him I was back. He came hobbling across the field to me. He embraced me straight away and kissed me hard. "It is so good to see you" he said kissing me.
"same babe, because this back pack is killing me" I laughed, taking it off my back and dropping it to the floor. He laughed until he picked it up.
"Fuck me Mia what the hell did you get?" he asked.
"you will see" I grinned. We walked back towards the camp. We put the trolly and the back pack in the Rv for carol to sort out.
As she began emptying it she was in total shock. "how the hell did you carry this back by yourself?" she asked.
"when a girl loves her food, she will make damn sure she brings it all" I laughed.
"Do you want me to cook it?" she asked.
"No I will I just need a little rest and to get washed before I make a start" I smiled.
So I had a quick wash changed into a little summer dress that Maggie had given me and sat drinking kool aid with Daryl in the sun.
I had been cooking some beef in seasoning from the night before. Which Maggie and Glenn had found in the freezer. I had left it in the massive crockpot and when I went to check on it, it smelled amazing. I got Daryl to carry it to the RV for me whilst I prepared the rest of the food.
Hershal and his family had been pretty self sufficient for years so there seemed to always be fresh tomatoes and onions. I was literally cooking up a storm when everyone arrived back from their adventures.
I told Daryl to tell everyone including Maggie, Hershal and the rest of them to come to eat in half an hour. I had gotten everyone to put all the tables together so it was one big one that we could all fit round. I made everyone grab a dish to put on the table. And then grabbed plates and cutlery, before going to the table myself. That evening was one, if not the best evening since the whole zombie thing happened. We were all laughing and joking. Little did we know that the next day was when things took a major turn.
