Fu Huili arrived in front of a clearing. A wide expanse perfect for building on.
She was immediately grateful she didn't see any zombies wandering around near her.
'Please establish the base here.'
With a roar that would no doubt draw mutants to her location, a square light silver almost white metallic building appeared before her.
Figures running towards the base and her had her quickly running to toward the base door. Placing her hand on scanner to the left it opened and then she quickly ran through it, closing the heavy door behind her. Only just in time as she saw the screen by the door showed the zombies clamoring by her door, but thankfully they couldn't get in. They were grotesque she shivered seeing their protruding fangs and bulging eyes, after double checking that the door was locked she turned around to peruse her new home and business.
The building was 1,000 sq meters (over 10k sq ft).
On the left of building there were six square rooms of different sizes, four on the right side.
At the center was empty shops with a warehouses behind. Further to the left after the rooms was the cafeteria which had rows of tables and chairs, along the wall dozens of food vending machines (only 2 were on).
Huili assumed the other vending machines would turn on once she unlocked like after an achievement.
And there was still more she couldn't see from where she stood.
[Host, please name the initial site.]
In honor of the days she was Haruhi Fujioka and the fun memories with her eccentric friends, she decided to name it the Rose Garden Base.
[The Rose Garden Base will become a ray of hope for Blue Planet. Please work hard to upgrade and unlock more functions.]
'Base Status, please.'
[The Rose Garden Base
Level: 1
Area: 1k sq meters
One bedrooms: 6
Two bedroom suites: 4
Warehouse materials: 2
Canteen meal prep machine stalls: 2
Permanent population: 1]
[Host please select a room to live in. The remainder must be rented out in order to recruit people. After completing the upgrade task and paying for the upgrade to LV2 the base area can expand to 3k sq meters, new room types can be unlocked, five warehouse materials will be added and two canteen meal making machines will be added.]
Huili guessed the upgrade task probably had to do with getting tenants.
Poking her head into one of the one bedroom studios she noticed it was a really good size at 50 sq meters (over 530 sq ft). Which was bigger than the one bedroom apartment she grew up in. Crossing over to the other side of the building she looked into the two bedroom suites which were 80 sq meters.
Deciding that although she felt like she need as much space, the idea of a separate office space was nice. So she picked the innermost 2 bedroom suite.
'Is there a way I can furnish even though the system store is not open yet?'
[My store is open, host.] Spoke the Self-Saving System.
They might have said they merged, but it sure seemed the two systems were separate of each other. Huili shrugged, fine by her.
[Just think Home Decoration page and it will open for you.]
She did so and saw that there was rather nice options for Level 1 furniture and decor. As the owner she could use LV1 furniture/decor for free in her rooms but for elsewhere she would have to buy it from the system.
She was happy to see the option for tatami mats for flooring. She placed them in her bedroom and dining room. White oak flooring for the rest of the suite except the bathroom and kitchen which had a simple cream slate tile.
Her bedroom had a platform bed with soft pink velvety soft comforter and a pale pink macrame behind it. A tall mirror sat leaning against the wall to the left of her bed and then her wardrobe a pretty white oak like the flooring in the rest of the house. A Persian rug in dark pink and dark blue sat at the foot of the bed. The kitchen was empty for now as she hadn't unlocked the appliances.
A kotatsu dining area sat in front of the kitchen.
The living room had a comfy cream sofa and square coffee table with poufs around it.
Her office room had an adjustable height desk and comfortable seat with a cream cushion.
The bathroom had a bathtub that reminded her more of a hot spring than a tub.
All under LV1 it was amazing. She couldn't believe in a post-apocalyptic she had free access to clean water and electricity. Her suite was more cozy than the apartment she'd saved up for after getting her dream lawyer job in her other life. Feeling satisfied with her new homes atmosphere she ventured backed out into the main building.
Her stomach rumbled and she headed to the cafeteria. One of the machine was labeled noodles. They had seemingly endless options, not just Chinese but Japanese too and even Italian. Each option was in its own grid and picture with price; they could scrolled through so you could find what you were looking for.
Deciding on something that would remind her of home she decided on Tonkotsu Ramen.
The other machine's food category was 'Rice Bowl'.
And because she was feeling extra hungry she also got some chicken katsu donburi.
It all cost 30 contribution points/universal coins.
A notification sounded that surprised her.
[Rebate System issues rebate of 150 universal coins.]
Well that answered that unasked question of whether paying the base system would get a rebate or not. Huili couldn't help but think this was the most ultimate cheat, not that she would ever complain.
