After eating the food that felt more delicious than anything she had her previous life Huili decided to decorate the guest rooms next. Excited to get rebates back on every purchase.

She made them simple in design. Knowing that the tenants would want things to be say to move around if needed. She set up the bed areas always with some sort of divider to the rest of the room. Some had a bookshelf with some potted plants, others had curtains or shoji sliding doors. A simple comfortable couch with coffee table. A kitchenette (currently empty of appliances until LV2) and a separate bathroom with a wet shower area with a tub.

Decorating all six of the one-bedroom studios came to 18,000 coins/points. Which gave a rebate of 90,000. Which left her with still quite a few points (1,475,595).

She then decided to have some fun and decorate each of the 2 bedroom suites a different style; Modern Victorian, Tuscany, Japanese, and simple Modern luxury.

She had to confess she had most fun with the Tuscany one.

All four 2-bedroom suites came to 40,000 coins/points. Which gave a rebate of 200,000, and with the total of her points at 1,635,595.

She definitely wasn't losing any money by spending that was for sure but she knew even if she didn't need the points now that she would still venture to the next door base to advertise Rose Garden Base.

And one of the ways to make a new standard would be to sell some of her unlimited goods, rice and clean water was hard to come by after all.

'Are there my defensive tools I can buy from the base system?'

[LV1 weaponry is as follows...]

The system began to list a multitude of weapons, but one stood out to her.

'What are the crystal base weapons?'

[After procuring a crystal either from mutant animals or high-level zombies, for a certain amount of points, you can pick from certain elements and receive a random accessory that will give you powers over the element you choose.]

Something to think about later, then.

Until then: 'Could you teleport me right outside Wu'an Base?'

[You can buy teleportation rights for 1 million points, non-rebatable.]

It would take down her points quickly, but she expected she'd make some as well inside the base; plus, until she had something to protect herself, it was the best option.

'I'll buy the teleportation rights.'

[1,000,000 points extracted. You now can teleport anywhere on the virtual map or any visited previous location.]

Getting a backpack from the base store for 15 points, so she wouldn't seem to pull her supplies out of thin air, she decided she was ready to go. Checking her brace for the time, she still had about 6 hours of sunlight left.

'Teleport me outside the Wu'an gates, please.'

After going in line, it took 2 bags of rice and 4 bottles of water to get in. Then, she headed toward the Kuancheng District. A dangerous place with corrupt store owners but the best bet to get her name out there. There was only a smaller market, but it wouldn't cater to enough people that would help Rose Garden's name to spread.

As soon as she entered the district, salespeople called out after her, trying to draw her attention.

Huili knew how to deal with persistent shopkeepers; don't give them a chance to think she's interested. Keeping her features looking straight forward, she walked with determination to where sellers set up stalls in the marketplace.

She had to pay 5 bottles of water as an admission/protection fee into the marketplace. Once she was in, she found a nondescript corner somewhere where only her wares would shine but not threaten the bigger stalls.

Sitting down on the dirt, she laid her goods out on an extra sheet she took from her bedroom at her base.

She may have paid for a protection fee, but that was only if customers tried to assault her, not if the other stall owners decided to attack.

Checking for any viewers she reached into her backpack and pulled out ten bottles of water and a bag of rice to sell. Then she decided to use the supplies lottery she could only use once a month and got sanitary napkins. A luxury she would expect in these times, when manufacturing was done by the rich and their supply only given to the rich and powerful. She added 10 packs of sanitary napkins and placed them down on the sheet.

She knew she would need to keep a low profile also in the prices, too expensive and she'd draw unwanted attention from rival stalls too cheap and the same would happen.

A shopkeeper came over and eyed her position on the ground. "You put such good products on the ground?"

She raised an eyebrow in answer.

"2,000 contribution points."

"A good enough price for the bottles of water."

"No, for the whole lot."

Huili threw her head back and laughed, "Really? Try again."

She knew that water alone was sought after. The rice was a novelty when the general public was eating something called 'insect cakes'. No, she wouldn't easily be taken advantage of.

A hooded and masked man came up and pointed to the water bottles. "How much?"

"200 points for the bottle of mineral water." Ignoring the old man who sought to pull a wool over her eyes, Huili focused on her new customer.

"That's fair."

"How many would you like?" She was ready to pull out more water if needed from her backpack.

"How many do you have?" Came the deep voice.

Perhaps it was best to keep what she had in front and keep this new customer as a possible money-maker.

"What's before you is all there is today. However, if you place an order with me, I can deliver however much you need."

He went to grab the seven water bottles. "I'll send you 2,000 points. I'll take whatever you have available tomorrow. I'll pick them up here tomorrow, same place and same time."

He reached out and touched his brace with hers, and her brace showed her current balance had gone from 635,580 to 637,580.

"Happy doing business with you, sir." She nodded respectfully towards her first honest customer of the day.

The hooded man turned on his heel and left as quickly as he had arrived.

The old man from earlier still hung around, so Huili spoke to him, "As you can see, my pricing is fair. If you are sincere, I have no problem selling my goods to you."

The old man bowed his head before retreating to his stall, obviously wanting to grab good goods for cheap to resell.

A large man came over with a pouting beauty following him.

"Don't be mad, sweetheart. Look isn't this good..." he took one of the sanitary napkin packs, "Wouldn't your fellow sisters be jealous?"

The woman looked at the pack in his hand before she swiveled her head toward Huili, "Why aren't you selling at the big stalls if these are such good products? We would have missed you if we hadn't been looking!"

Huili sighed there were always those customers that will complain about everything. "Buy it or not, it's your choice." After a pause, she explained herself, "It's my first time setting up in this marketplace. I didn't wish to offend the other stall owners."

The fat man eyed her with curiosity, "What integrity! What family do you come from? Your bosses chose well to send you out."

It was best to be vague. She wouldn't lie, but that didn't mean she couldn't bend the truth.

"The higher-ups were the ones who decided to develop in this district." She shrugged.

"I'll give you a head start then." The man gave a jovial smile, "I'll take all these sanitary napkins, name your price."

"A pack for 1000 universal coins or contribution points."

As it was an even more rare product than the water, the price would, of course go up.

"I like how straightforward you are! I will give you 10,000 contribution points." After he touched her brace and transferred the credits and left, she let out a breath of relief. She passed the test.

The rice sold quickly, and she made another 10k.

Going out the gate, she teleported back to her bedroom, happy with her first day of sales. She hadn't been able to advertise the Rose Garden quite yet but she had a feeling she would soon.
