If something was considered the perfect restart... Izuku would consider this moment it. He was on the way to the hotel where he would spend the next two nights with... with whom he was proud to say his girlfriend and daughter, but in the happiness, there was a constant reminder that his life should never be considered an easy one. "What? I will tell him, but... I have to check into the hotel in about thirty... Alright if it's important." Nanami, his girl, spared him a glance, whether annoyed or apologetic he was not sure. "So..."
"Ms. Joke wants me to go to Shiketsu for something, right?"
"We can skip it if you want..." Nanami spoke, she was looking forward to the weekend they had planned for and a last-minute meeting before the provisional exams was something that she did not see coming.
Izuku knew from his experience as a former U.A. student that hero life was always unpredictable, but he also knew that having a relationship with the people he would be working with would be important when the unpredictable happened. So having thought that Izuku figured that it would be best if he went to this meeting, making quick work out of it. "I-I'm sorry, Nanami."
The look on his girlfriend's face killed Izuku inside, he knew that she was looking forward to this summer maybe more than he was. "It's fine..." Without a word she looked at Eri in her car seat, her being as curious as always. "We are going to have to split up, sweet girl. So I am going to drop you off with your Papa, there are going to be a lot of people there so can you be a good girl for me and your Papa?" Nanami asked the girl in a tone that was a little off. Eri, sensing the tension, nodded before giving Nanami a small smile that melted her Mama's heart. The tension became lighter as she put away her phone in the center console on its charger. She put the car into gear leaving the parking lot of the supermarket that they had stopped at, turning the radio on.
Although it was as quiet as their trip to Chiba was, it being diverted from the beach resort they were headed to Shiketsu was telling. Izuku did not know to what point but his girlfriend was more than pissed that her plans were being messed with, they had been planning to spend all of August together and this being their first weekend as a couple did not help matters. "Nanami?"
"What is it?"
"Are you busy next week..." Izuku had no idea what to do in situations like this, but he at least had to try something.
Nanami cocked her head in an attempt to keep her eyes on the road, she was confused. Izuku was going to his grandmother's in a couple of days, whether she was busy or not it did not matter... he was not going to be with her regardless... unless. "Aren't you going to Lady Hana's for two weeks? And my being busy, that is not your concern." Her tone was flat. "You need to focus on what's right in front of you."
"That's what this is about... You're right in front of me and as for my trip up north... I have enough money to pay for a round trip for the both of us... Come with me, Nanami?" Izuku said stone-faced.
Nanami nearly slammed on the brakes in surprise. 'What the hell?' Nanami's thoughts ran wild. 'He wants me to come with him?' Her mind tried to process the information, from the very day they met never once did he ever take the... "Izuku do you realize what you are saying, I know Lady Hana better than you... Uninvited guests were not in all ways welcomed. Your grandmother had lost too much for that."
"She also did not know that her only grandson existed a couple of months ago. My father..." Izuku remembered the last conversation he had with Hisashi Midoriya, a conversation that made sense now. 'If you ever find someone that you want to protect more than anything in this world, do it. Even if they are older, smarter, or stronger. You are a Midoriya, be proud of that fact. No matter what your decision is, know that I am proud of you, and I always have your back.' It was not until he met Nanami did those words make sense. 'If this world were mine... What would I do?' That answer always eluded him. "My father, the heir of my grandmother, dated another warlord heir in the past... I guess that means I am following in his footsteps. So I will ask you again, Nanami... Come with me."
"Do you realize what you are saying, Izuku?" Nanami spoke stunned, as the Fujiwara heir she knew very well what businesses the Midoriya clan operated, half would land the average person in jail. If this was two months ago this conversation would have been different, but now that All Might is dead, this was a whole new world. "You have to realize the consequences right? If something were to happen you don't have a safety net like Mirko or Mount Lady, Ryu... You can get in a lot of trouble and there goes your hero career."
"It's the same risk you are taking." Izuku tried to argue back.
Nanami's grip on her steering wheel tightened, she had a way out, she had been preparing to take over for her father from the very moment Makina's husband entered the picture, Izuku had made this decision after two months of grief. "We really are not?"
"I can do both, Nanami." His tone was serious. "It does not matter how long you stay but I want you there with me when I tell my grandmother. I want to protect you and Eri..."
Izuku's last words made her bite her lip in frustration.
'I don't think you are the one who would be doing the protecting, my boy is going to do something amazing one day, and if you are at his side when that time comes that's all I can ever ask for.'
As Hisashi's words ran through her she looked at the concerned face of Eri in the rearview mirror. "Fine..."
"Fine?"
"If you promise me you will rethink what this means, what it all really means then I will come with you. You dummy." Nanami said, her features softening.

'Oji as the Fujiwara heir, don't worry. I will, and I will be so strong that no matter what I will protect him.'
