As Leorio treated Kurapika in the tent, Gon and Killua waited outside, seeing the faintest sign of sunrise shime though the clouds.Killua looked at him, expecting to see Gon's face full of worry or stress, but instead it was bright red full of anger.

"What monster would do that?" He said through grit teeth as tears fell down his face. He seemed close to shouting in rage. "Why would someone do that to him?"

He was right. This wasn't some possible wildlife attack. No bear could pin someone a dozen feet up in a tree with a mere tree branch. Someone did this intentionly. On top of that, they'd also found Kurapika's nunchunk weapon nearby on their way back. There was definately a fight.

Leorio cane though the tent door about 15 minutes later. "He's somewhat stabilized. If everything stays how it is, he should be okay. That branch somehow missed his vitals. ... The bleeding stopped. Hopefully he'll wake up soon. " His mind was clearly overly stressed and a bit scatterbrained, still processing what just hsppened, with no reason to why it did.

Gon and Killua slept outside, although unable to really fall asleep. Leorio stayed with Kurapika in the tent, staying up, checking his vitals and praying he'd wake up.

The morning came, everyone was tired and anxious, still double checking that last night was real.

Inside, Leorio had fallen asleep of over exhuastedness on top of the overboard of stress.

Kurapika layed motionless all night. A faint beam of rising sunlight shined though the tent's mesh window. His eyes fluttered. His vision came into view. The ceiling of the tent. Leorio sleeping against the wall. He tried remembering what lead up to his. As memories slowly came back, Leorio must've woken up, hearing him search though his bag for something. Kurapika slowly looked over at him.

"...Leo..rio..?"

Leorio froze. That voice. That wasn't Gon or Killua's. He turned around, speachless for a good moment as Kurapika stared at him in confusion and "what?"-ness. He had no idea how he ended up here, let alone alive.

"..K-Kurapika! Y-You're awake! You're okay!"

"... what...How'd I... get here.."

".. we found you ...pinned up to a tree. We brought you back here... I'm just glad you're alright.." he went over to the tent door, telling the other two he was awake.

They were infinitely glad he was alive and awake, but Gon's face soon returned to anger. "... Kurapika. What happened. Who did this to you."

"... " He looked hesitant to say anything...

He had heard a sound in the woods that night. Not just an animal. Something different. He got up to investigate, gabbing his weapon for good measure. He had gotten deep in the woods when,

"Kurapika, was it?"

He froze. That voice. Why was he here.

Coming out of the thick bushes was none other than Hisoka, someone Kurapika wanted to never see until they were to meet in Yorknew City. " As you might know, I'm very intreged to see how Gon will continue to grow sronger... I very much hope you're not somehow holding him back... I just simply came to test that. That's all."

" Test me? How so?"

Without warning Hisoka charged at him. Kurapika dodged by a fraction of a split second.

"Hm.. well, I might as well have some fun." Hisoka picked up a study fallen tree branch, picking the dead pine needles off it.The fight lasted for a long while. Kurapika had no idea how long Hisoka wanted to "test" him. Did he just come to toy with him?

The fight lasted for what felt like hours. Hisoka charging without sound or pattern, then simply standing in a single spot for a while, effortlessly dodging all of Kurapika's attacks, sharpening the tree branch into a point with his sharp fingernails.

"That enough?" Kurapika panted, as Hisoka looked satasfied with the makeshift spear he'd made.

"Hm... well, you do have potential, that I can say.. You pass, I suppose" He suddenly appeared centimeters from his face, simeltaneously yanking him upwards. Before Kurapika could so much as blink, the tree branch peirced through him with such focre that it pinned him to a nearby tree.

"Oh don't worry. I avoided your vitals. I'll let you live. For now, that is" With that he dissapeared into the darkness of the forest.

"...I must've blacked out after that... Then you all came and found me I guess..." Kurapika explained, still a bit out of it, but last night being vivid as it was in the moment.

"Hisoka..? He was here" Gon couldn't be angrier at that man. He promised to himself one thing. "I'm gonna deck that bastard so hard right in his rotten face"

And with that, Kurapika made a full recovery, and Gon trained nonstop, wanting to avenge his friend, and punch Hisoka's 44 badge right up his nose.

Hope you liked it! Have a great day!
