Entering the location was the easy part given the access the group had due to Sunday's presence and status. As much as Relon wanted to boast of his own popularity, he was a nobody in Penacony. Though that didn't matter at this current point in time.
"Everyone ready?"
What mattered was getting in, finding Rappa, and getting out. Without casualties.
"Ready," Sparkle nodded.
"As am I," Sunday followed.
"I'm ready too," Robin added, stepping up next to her brother.
"I've been ready for anything all night since I started my shift. Let's hit it."
"Alright then. Sunday, you'll take the rear with me up front. Sparkle, you'll be after Sunday. I have plenty of ways to deal with hordes of monsters but if we get ambushed, I want your skills to help Sunday."
"Sounds good to me."
"Any creepy crawlies that come near will get smacked by my heel or hammer~."
"Robin, you're dead center of our makeshift formation. If it comes to it, you can use your powers to assist either our front or rear."
"Leave it to me."
"As for you Siobhan…" Hands nearing the other, a golden glow manifests for his hands to separate, seemingly dragging the color out. When he finished, down into his hands came a giant golden key with a gray handle. "Take this keyblade. You too Robin, Sunday," he added, manifesting two more. "If worst comes to happen and we get separated, then you each can defend yourselves to some extent."
"You're quite prepared."
"Have to be. I'm bringing technically three people who aren't 'fighters' and we're in a location where I don't have my usual gear. Not to mention this is unknown territory within Penacony of all places. One moment we can all be together and the next separated by standing on the floor and ceiling or something."
"That and it wouldn't be good for Relon's girls to get hurt, hehe."
"Sparkle, hush," Relon rolled his eyes, flexing his hands as their residual glow lessened. "Stay close and keep your eyes open."
He knew the arched brows raised by Sunday and Robin would follow suit with questions but he'd cross that bridge when they got to it. Rappa came first. With that, their exploration began.
"You weren't kidding on the name of this place," Sparkle quipped. "Floating dolphins? Hovering words only a child could say? This place is a sleepover playhouse come true."
"It's so quiet, yet quaint," Robin nodded in agreement. "The blue tint with the ambient atmosphere certainly gives it that vibe."
"You aren't saying that just because you like blue is it~?"
"Of course not, silly."
"Oh that right, you're a fan of red aren't you~?" That seemed to make the singer stiffen to the teaser's amusement.
"S-Sparkle!"
"Can you two stay focused?" Sunday sighed.
"They seem to be having fun," Siobhan whispered, though no response came from the family head. One particular glance at the male and she noticed it, his careful posture along with how his eyes glanced in all directions awaiting anything to happen. "Perhaps they're relaxed knowing you're here."
"As long as I'm here, Nothing's going to happen to you guys," came his sudden response.
It was quick but the kindness and concern was very evident. She could only smile warmly before her eyes too traced along the corridor.
"Counting on you, Traveler."
Down they trekked, investigating door after door along the way. Some were empty while others materialized into new corridors. Further and deeper the group delved.
"We have walked for over an hour now! Where are the monsters? All we've ran across are unconscious critters!" Sparkle groaned. "I wanna hit something with my hammer! Relooooooon!"
"Be glad that there aren't many," Sunday answered for the male. "Going off the few creatures defeated, it means that Rappa made quick work of them."
Entering a large room, Relon raised a hand halting the group.
"What's wrong, Relon?"
"You see monsters to smash?" Sparkle peered over past her female companion.
"No. Rappa was here," he said as the others followed his gaze to the ceiling where an arrow made of spray paint lied. "I know those colors anywhere."
"Why would she- Oh." To answer the question of why put the arrow far above, Robin's sight was redirected towards the odd yellow matter near the wall where a ramp lied.
It was simple what implications followed. Up Rappa had gone, breaking the logic known as gravity, to the other side.
"I suppose we'll have to follow the way Rappa went."
"No," Relon said, walking to the abyss' edge before kneeling down. "We're just going to walk across.
Golden power glowing around him, it compresses into his hands as the floor's edge illuminates. From it, countless golden chains harpoon across the gap embedding themselves on the other platform. Rattling, all straighten out to then merge as one.
"There," he breathed. "Now we can cross."
"You're not pushing yourself, are you Relon?" Robin asked, worry evident in her demeanor.
"I'm fine. Really."
"Better not be saying that," Sparkle eyed him in a knowing tone. "Manifesting weapons is one thing but you made these keyblades to last. That takes a good amount and you just made a literal bridge out of pure energy. A wide one at that no less."
Now he was getting annoyed.
Then came the screeching sound. One look back at the bridge and shadowy mists shot from the abyss for creatures to emerge.
And now he beyond annoyed.
"Let me prove it then," he retorted, walking off to lean forward before boosts into the fray.
Spherical cube-like entities, bats, and clock golems lurched forward. With a jump, he landed in the fray to crash his glowing fist breaking apart a sphere creature.
Ducking an attempted punch, he delivers a kick for the golem to not budge. With a click at whizzing sounds all around, he pushes off its chest to roll away from the dive bombing aerial creatures.
"Try this then," he muttered, slamming the bridge for golden circles to emanate as sharp chains shot into the air piercing each creature.
With the golem now hindered, he walked towards it with cracking knuckles. With an uncaring wave, he swatted the air for the chains to drag the creature over the edge where it came from.
Looking as the group approached, he was about to comment when their own warning stances told him he wasn't done. One look as more shadows converged onto one point, a bigger, more defined golem landed on the bridge with a thud.
Then it roared, summoning more creatures from far below all around them.
"Sparkle, I hope you're happy now!"
"Oh, I am more than happy!" She beamed, summoning her hammer. "Also I take back what I said!"
"Of course you do!"
Grabbing Siobhan as Robin was pulled by Sparkle and Sunday, they all avoided the salvo of ring-like vibrations that struck where they once stood.
"Okay, now I'm pissed!" Hand glowing once more, he sees a battle come near his head for a keyblade to knock it away. One look and he saw Siobhan.
"What? Can't have the family head kicking the bucket the moment right when the family is getting started. Can't exactly ask for my job back."
Blind to the hulking creature raising a hand, only when its shadow obstructed them did Siobhan turn to widen her eyes. Then it came and her eyes closed for a sound not her smushed body to elicit. Eyes peering open, there Relon stood with his fist against the creature's.
"Anyone within the Lucinance Household won't have to worry about a thing. No matter the odds," he began. "No matter the problem. No matter the circumstances. If someone is in need, then we'll help them. Simple… as… that!" With one last push, his fist sent the creature stumbling back. "Sparkle!" Past him, she blitzed ahead sporting a crazed expression.
With a somersault over its fist, she reeled her weapon back as her eyes shimmered red. Then she struck, decapitating the head sending it shooting like a bullet off the abyss as the body dropped lifelessly. With a flip, she landed atop the body with a grin.
"I feel way better now."
"What about the other… creatures?" Siobhan blinked to see only their once again. "Where did-"
"Sparkle dealt with them," the bird duo stated matter-of-factly.
Inwardly gawking as said kimono-wearer skipped merilly towards them, Siobhan could only look as Sparkle's lit eyes dimmed to norma while discarding her hammer. Stopping before Relon, she rocked her body back and forth expectantly to get a sigh from the male as he patted her head.
"Huh."
"Thanks for not taking out all those monsters this time," Sparkle giggled, happy to receive her gift.
"You were complaining," he deadpanned. "And now you have no reason to."
"For now."
Not bothering to banter anymore, Relon returned his attention to his regrouping friends.
"Everyone okay?"
"No injuries here."
"Robin's fine, so am I."
"You saved me so I'm good."
"Good," he nodded, returning to their trek. "If we had gone the way Rappa did, I wonder if those creatures would have emerged."
"Perhaps," Sunday answered. "Perhaps not. No point worrying now." That was Sunday. Curt and to the point.
"Also, Relon?" Sparkle called.
"What's up," he asked as they departed from the open room down another corridor.
"Don't think I forgot what I said before." That comment alone made him stagger his next step though he dared not meet the look she wore.
"I hear you loud and clear."
"Good. Then I'll leave it at that."
"Um, is Relon pushing himself again?" Robin blinked.
"When is he not?" Sunday scoffed in amusement.
"Quite often when others are involved," Siobhan chuckled.
"I do not!"
"Yes you do," all four stated in unison.
"Ugh, can we just change subjects please?"
He didn't know how much of Sparkle in tandem with the others he could deal with. He knew he'd need to get used to it but his mind was so preoccupied with Rappa that it was somewhat hard to think. Though as much as he disliked admitting it, they had a point.
He had spent a great deal of power, not enough to warrant any level of fatigue, but a noticeable amount given Sparkle's keen eyes. Mainly to reduce any risks that they've stumbled through thus far but he was thankful that said troublemaker was taking advantage of their situation.
Outside of being arguably the galaxy's most foul-mouthed menace, she knew how to fight and well at that. Ever since gaining her own powers and the mask from the Masked Fools, combat had, for the most part, been relatively easy for her. It helped that her own abilities were an amplifier to her own strength as well as capable of a few other neet tricks.
It was the main reason for placing her in the rear. Her combat prowess was average but with Sunday and Robin stacking their own powers with her, that was another story. It was easy to understand how she dismantled that large group of monsters seemingly in an instant. Though her haste in taking that many down would make any not used to combat gawk like how Siobhan had.
"What the?" Stopping once more, face scrunching, Relon glanced back at his friends. "Is that…?" He hesitated, not believing his eyes.
"A robotic dinosaur with a chef's hat?" Siobhan blinked to notice said animatronic huffing spurts of flames.
"That also breathes fire?" Sparkle wondered. "Yes. Yes it is."
"And that…?" Relon redirected his finger at a flight of stairs from where the first enemy was.
"A robotic gorilla with a sports hat carrying… beer kegs?" Robin blinked, tilting her head.
"It would seem so," Sunday added, sharing in his sister's wonder.
"Yup. I don't like it here."
As if to add salt to the wound, the T-Rex seemed to finally notice their presence before eliciting a roar. In doing so, it gained the gorilla's attention as it banged the location it stood before vaulting over the ledge to crash down next to its companion.
"Well, you know what they say. Birds of a feather flock together," Robin said.
"Sister, that is poor phrasing for this situation!"
"I know right," Sparkle scoffed, though the smirk she wore told otherwise. "You two birdbrains flock together as is, so why would a dinosaur and gorilla?" The groan from Siobhan that came spoke volumes for how he felt.
"Correction; I hate it here!"
