Ben 10 does not belong to me. How To Train Your Dragon does not belong to me.
This crossover is canon to the Amit Cinematic Universe and takes place between Ben's immortality and the creation of Gwen Stacy's Omnitrix.
Enjoy.
Forge of Creation, 80 years after the death of Gwen Tennyson.
Ben has collected the four pieces of the Map of Infinity. He had to speak to them. He had to get rid of his immortality. He had outlived far too many people to accept his curse.
What he did not expect was to encounter his rival on bad terms.
"Glad'X, I can't take it anymore," Ben pleaded, "I can't keep outliving everyone I love!"
Glad'X glared at Ben. He froze the Hero of Heroes from the neck down and disabled his Omnitrix temporarily as he got close, not wanting the Omnimaster to scan him and regain access to Alien X.
"Your service to the victims of the Omniverse War is not over yet," Glad'X echoed. "Until your debt is paid, you shall not see your world."
"Glad'X, no!"
"It was already decided, Big Brother," The Celestial Sapien declared as he cocked his fist, "Seconded! Motion Carried!"
With that, he punched Ben in the chest, sending him away.
"AAAAAHHHHHH!" Ben cried at the pain and betrayal as he was shot out of the Forge of Creation like a living bullet into the vast omniverse.
Multiverse-H, Earth-40, Red Death Island, 20 years later from Ben's POV.
Stoick had freed Toothless from his underwater restraint and let the Night Fury carry him to the surface.
"You got it, Bud," Hiccup replied to Toothless's non-verbal invitation to fight the massive dragon. This dragon will be known as the Red Death for generations. As the 15-year-old Viking climbed on his dragon's back, his father grabbed him by the arm.
"Hiccup." Stoick looked his son in the eyes, "I'm sorry... for everything."
"Yeah," Hiccup nodded, "Me, too."
"You don't have to go up there," Stoick pleaded. Despite his harshness, he never wanted his son in harm's way, even now when their entire tribe depended on it.
"We're Vikings," Hiccup smiled, "It's an occupational hazard."
Seeing that his son embraced and evolved his code of bravery, Stoick could no longer hide his pride, "I'm proud to call you my son."
"Thanks, Dad."
Between their bonding moment and the destruction caused by the great beast, none of the Vikings notice the small portal opening in the sky.
Hiccup and Toothless flew high, gained speed, and struck the Red Death with a point-blank plasma blast right in time to save Astrid and her dragon from becoming dragon food. Taking advantage of the Red Death's distraction, Toothless turned around, grabbed Astrid by the leg, and brought her to safety.
"That thing has wings," Hiccup pointed. A plan already formed in his head. "Okay, let's see if it can use them!"
His plan was simple: take the fight to the sky, destroy the monster's wings at a high altitude, and let it fall to its death.
However, his plan changed when he saw the portal up close and what came from the other side. The dragon and his rider made a sharp turn to avoid the comet-looking object as it shot through the portal at incredible speed and struck the Red Death hard enough to destroy one of its wings and almost knock it out.
After a moment of shock, Hiccup and Toothless carried on a new plan and struck the side of the Red Death's head, blinding two of its six eyes.
The comet grew arms and legs and opened its apparent eyes and mouth. As soon as the rocky creature saw the Red Death and the Night Fury, countless undecided debates belonging to higher beings went through his head, and with those debates, he obtained great knowledge. His mission was to decide for the Celestial Sapiens and act on his decisions to make things right. He knew of the black cat-looking dragon and the boy riding him, but that was the first time he saw them.
He saw the Red Death standing on its lower legs, attempting to smack the Night Fury and his rider with its massive paws. At that moment, the alien's hands were surrounded by glowing blue spheres of G-Force, and the Red Death felt heavier as it fell on its belly.
Hiccup did not know what had happened but didn't intend to check a free Night Fury by its teeth.
The alien made itself known to the Red Death, taunting it to strike. The giant dragon filled its mouth with flammable gas right in time for Toothless to fly close and fire his hottest plasma blast into the beast's mouth, causing it to explode.
Surprisingly, despite its size, the explosion did not reach far from its source. Instead, an orange dragon, not much larger than Toothless and with a more humanoid structure, appeared in an emerald flash and danced in the air, bending the force, heat, and light of the explosion to its will, forcing it into one spot above the spot in which the Red Death made its final mistake and turning the former explosion into a head-sized red crystal.
Once the formerly massive explosion was fully solidified into the crystal, the orange dragon grabbed it in one hand and flew down to where the people of Berk stood in shock. Hiccup and Toothless arrived a moment later, just as confused as everyone else.
"Hello," The orange dragon spoke, surprising humans and dragons alike, "My name is..."
"A TALKING DRAGON!" Someone shouted, causing everyone to let go of their shock and enter panic.
Seeing them not calming down after several minutes, the talking dragon sighed and flew to the island's highest spot, where Hiccup saw another emerald flash. The dragon rider flew up there with Toothless, where they saw a man holding the red crystal with a proud smile.
The man wore a strange outfit. It was entirely green and brown, not unlike Hiccup, but the design was out of place for the Barbaric Archipelago.
"Who are you?" Hiccup asked, "Where is that dragon?"
The man looked familiarly at Hiccup. It was the kind of familiarity that came when you met a representative from another island for the first time after seeing their portraits and hearing a lot about them. "My name is Ben Tennyson. Have you seen that dragon, too? Like that recently killed Titan Wing, he comes from a much warmer biome." Ben, as he called himself, shook a little, "I have that in common with him."
"How long were you here?" Hiccup asked. He had no idea what some of Ben's words meant, but he did not wish to waste time, knowing that at least some Vikings would soon turn on the dragons who saved them without his guidance. "What do you know about that dragon? Where are you from?"
Ben blinked a few times before looking Hiccup in the eyes, his left eye twitching, "In reverse order, I am from a far continent named America. I have studied this dragon, Sunburn, and amazing creatures like him for many years and am still studying him. I came here under circumstances that I can't explain at the moment, but I will be able to answer all your questions when I reach my destination, Berk."
"I am from Berk," Hiccup said bluntly, still riding Toothless, "Do you need a ride? We are short on ships and tamed dragons, but we won't leave you here alone."
"There is no need for that, kid," Ben refused kindly. "I've got my ride, and there are a few stops I need to make before I get there. But I have a deal in mind: If you can keep this crystal safe for me until I arrive at your docks, I will share with you and any other curious mind knowledge beyond Viking measure." He offered his left hand to shake. Hiccup noticed a black gauntlet under his sleeve. "Do we have a deal?"
Hiccup hesitated, but after a few seconds, he unmounted Toothless and shook the older brunette's hand. "Deal."
"Before I go," Ben added, directing his attention to Toothless for the first time in their conversation, "Can I touch your friend?"
"Umm, you don't have a hidden knife in that gauntlet, right?" Hiccup stood between Ben and his dragon but showed no protective aggression.
"No, it is not a weapon," Ben assured him, and at that moment, Hiccup could see pride in his expression. "It is a cultured tool of peace and study."
Hiccup stepped aside but stayed close enough to act just in case Ben tried to hurt his friend. To his relief, Ben only patted Toothless, surprisingly, quickly earning a purr from the Night Fury. Toothless only stepped back when the black gauntlet beeped and glowed yellow.
With the conversation over, Hiccup and Toothless flew back to the shores with the red crystal hidden in Toothless's saddle, where the other Berkians and the liberated dragons waited for them. It was a new age for Berk and the rest of the Barbaric Archipelago.
Author's Notes:
There are many events such as this in the ACU. This is only the second universe Glad'X sent Ben to save. I will consider making a series of these short stories if there is demand. For now, this story is on its own.
The alien dragon Ben had turned into is Sunburn. He had turned into this alien in "Rise of G-Morph and The Amazing Spider-Man". However, it is smaller and less practical in this story because Ben is only over 100 years old at this point and still looks like the form's hatchling state.
Anyway, this is all for now. I will see you around. Feel free to review or PM me, UNLESS you are spammers who have not read my story and want to sell me an empty comic book file. If you are one of those c**ts, I will block you on sight.
