Enzo Berkshire was definitely not okay tonight. That much was clear to Cass as she watched him dance shirtless on top of one of the Gryffindor couches while singing at the top of his lungs, using a butterbeer bottle as a mic. Seamus Finnigan was just as inebriated as him with a tie wrapped around his forehead and a face bright red to match his house.

Cass, on the other hand, was happily standing by the wall with a full cup of water in her hand (courtesy of Enzo, who constantly refilled it for her). She wasn't alone, though. Neville Longbottom—one of her friends from her Herbology classes, which she needed to be a healer—was talking with her. He, too, wasn't much for big parties but he liked to be included and spend time with his friends.

"So, you and Hannah are together, then?" Cass asked with a wry grin.

Neville shifted uncomfortably, pulling at his tie while his face became almost as red as Seamus's. "Erm, y-yeah, she's nice. I m-mean, she's more than nice, of course but—"

"I'm just teasing, Neville," Cass said, elbowing his arm with a wide grin. "I think it's cute that you two are together. You make a great couple."

He sighed with relief, his whole body drooping. Cass wasn't sure why he was always so anxious when she'd done nothing but stick by his side as his friend but she supposed that everyone had their insecurities and weaknesses; Neville's social skills were his. "Really?" he asked softly, so soft that Cass had to lean in to hear him better.

"Definitely. I really like Hannah."

Before he could ask anything else, another presence joined them. "Longbottom! Not trying to steal my girl, are you?" Enzo asked—well, more like shouted—with a teasing tone. Hearing him call her my girl made her entire body heat, but not as much as what he did next. Enzo wrapped his arm around her shoulders and pulled her close before kissing her cheek. Cass had to stop herself from melting at the feeling of his soft lips.

"Y-your girl?" Neville asked nervously.

Cass could see the panic written all over her face so she smiled at Nevile and said, "Enz is a little drunk."

He smiled and nuzzled his face into her hair. "Mmm, I love it when you call me Enz, sunshine."

Cas was trying really hard not to turn into a complete puddle at the way Enzo's mouth murmured her nickname or the way his head was dangerously close to her neck or the way his hand was slowly maneuvering from her shoulder to the spot on her waist where it curved in. His fingers lightly danced on her body in a way that was appropriate for a public setting yet entirely inappropriate for the way it was making her feel. Heat licked across the edge of her spine as Enzo's fingers moved exactly how she would expect a Quidditch chaser's would. Experienced, strong, skilled. They were making the thoughts in Cass's head slowly turn from a sweet conversation with Neville to wondering what it would feel like to have him ride her like a broom.

She'd never loved her figure more than when she felt Enzo trace along it. Cass had never been particularly insecure about her body but as a twin, it was easy to compare herself to her sister. Andie was so athletic. Tall, fit, and lean. Andie could eat an entire chocolate cake and look the exact same. Meanwhile, if Cass ate a chocolate cake, it went right to her ass and stayed there for at least a few business days. That didn't stop Cass from eating it, though. If her biggest regret on her deathbed was an extra slice of chocolate cake, then she lived a pretty damn good life. Time in this world is too short to not enjoy the little pleasures that life offers you.

But as Enzo's hands caressed Cass's hourglass figure, she started to wonder if he liked her curves. The way his body hummed with energy as his hand caressed the parts of her where the yellow dress hugged her skin made her wonder if, perhaps, Enzo wanted to be more than friends.

No. That's silly. Why would he call treat you like a friend if he wanted to be more? That voice asked her. It was probably right; Enzo did always treat Cass like a friend. The butterbeer seemed like a more likely culprit behind his actions.

Suddenly, the song changed and Enzo gasped. "I love this song!" He quickly left Cass and Neville as he sprinted back over to Seamus. Cass couldn't help but watch his muscles ripple as he ran, knowing that only moments ago, they were pressed up against her in a way that made her wish they were alone.

Enzo grabbed another butterbeer bottle with a goofy grin before pointing out into the crowd. "This one goes out to my sunshine," he shouted as the crowd began to cheer at the way he and Seamus shimmied. Cass was glad that the darkness at the edge of the room hid her blush.

He began to sing a rock song surprisingly well considering how inebriated he was. Cass couldn't help but giggle as Enzo began to dance, his finger still pointing somewhat in the area that she stood in. Soon, everyone began to clap to the beat while Seamus did a jig next to him, almost face-planting onto the coffee table before righting himself to the sound of cheers. "WOOOOO!" Ron Weasley cheered loudly with his hands around his mouth. Cass just smiled and shook her head at the foolishness of it all. This was what being young was about. Stupidly dancing on couches to the sound of other teens cheering you on. Finding a small big of happiness in the room because in here, there was no sadness. In here, the only worry was where to find another bottle. In here, the world melted away.

There in the Gryffindor Common Room, Cass could forget her grief. Her sorrow. Her guilt. She wasn't the twin who screwed things up. She wasn't the twin left behind. She was just another nameless face in the crowd, watching a boy she was falling in love with drunkenly sing to her.

Enzo's karaoke went on for quite a while. The night slowly dragged on and Cass found herself yawning as the moon began to settle low in the sky. She turned to Neville with an apologetic smile. "I don't think I can stay awake much longer. Will you hate me if I bail?"

He smiled. "Not at all. I was looking for an excuse to crawl in bed with my Herbology book."

Cass said her goodbyes to Neville, promising to have a study session with him soon. She waved to her new Gryffindor friends before making her way to the door. She thought about saying goodbye to Enzo but he seemed so preoccupied that she didn't want to interrupt him. Plus, she could always find him tomorrow and explain.

"Cass! Wait!" a voice called out just as she reached the painting. She turned to see Enzo standing in front of her with a grin that made her stomach flip. "Didn't think you could dip out on me that easy, did you?"

She blushed. "Sorry, I'm just pretty tired and I didn't want to interrupt."

"No," Enzo breathed. "Interrupt me. Interrupt me all you want. I don't care as long as you talk to me."

The desperate tone in his voice—the one that made her heart feel all sorts of crazy things—was what made her realize just how close they were standing. Cass could almost feel the heat emanating from his body. It made her nervous. It made her hopeful. It made her way too many things all at once.

"So," she whispered before clearing her throat, "will you be alright by yourself?"

"Yeah. I can always stay at Seamus's. Plus, Head Boy doesn't have to worry about curfew," he said with a half-smile that made her breath stutter.

"Good, good. Well, enjoy the party then. Goodnight."

"Goodnight, sunshine," he murmured. Cass started to turn away but before she could take another step, Enzo said. "Hey, Cass?"

"Yeah, Enz?" She turned around.

And then his lips were on hers.

A burst of light exploded in Cass's mind as Enzo kissed her with the most passion she'd ever felt. Though their tongues weren't colliding and their bodies weren't moving, she could feel every bit of emotion he felt. His lips were warm and soft; they tasted like butterbeer and new beginnings. They tasted like how Cass would imagine forever tasted like. Like friendship and love curled up into something that made her toes curl and her heart race.

All too soon, Enzo pulled away with wide blue eyes. "Fuck," he whispered with a look of pure guilt written on his face. Before Cass could say anything, Enzo turned back toward the Gryffindor common room and sprinted off, slamming the painting shut behind him. She was left with nothing but the feeling of her body tingling as the taste of Lorenzo Berkshire lingered on her lips.

AHHH, I'm so glad I could get this chapter to you guys because I told you it was big. I mean, a first kiss feels pretty big to me, at least.

I'm also happy because I had literally such a horrible day (my fish died and then I had to get a dental laser procedure which freaking hurt) and writing makes me feel better because you guys make me feel so loved and appreciated so I hope you enjoy it :)))
