Kaiba stood next to his mother in the airport. His purple eyes roved across the many travelers looking between them for the man he was here to meet. He'd been waiting for this moment for a while. His mother placed a hand on his head. Her normally deadpan face had a unique glow to it today. He could understand why. His father was coming home. His father had left three months ago, this wasn't new. According to his mother, his father went on jobs for months at a time and had been doing so since before he was born. They never knew when he'd be back. In Kaiba's memory, the longest his father had been gone was almost a year when he was ten, he was thirteen now.

Kaiba was tall for his age his head coming up to his mother's shoulders their matching purple eyes scanning the crowd as she stroked his fluffy green and purple hair. "Stop fidgeting Kaiba, he'll be here soon." She said seeming to bite off the rest of her sentence as if she'd wanted to say more. He wasn't exactly sure what his father did, but he could tell his mother was worried about it. He looked up at her impassive face seeing the barest signs that she too was anxious for his father to return.

Kaiba turned back and spotted a shock of green hair in the crowd. He focused on it as a man came through the crowd. Kaiba couldn't keep the excited smile from his face as his father neared. Izuku Midoriya waded through the crowd his bright green eyes scanning through it until he spotted Kaina and then his eyes locked with Kaiba and his face split into a wide grin. Izuku was dressed in a dark grey Slim Fit Suit and in his hand was a briefcase. Izuku stepped up to Kaina who released a small sigh of relief before hugging Izuku who returned it.

"I missed you." She said stroking his face as Izuku smiled.

"I missed you too Kaina. I'm happy to be home." He said rubbing her arm before looking at Kaiba and smiling. "There's my boy." He said stroking Kaiba's hair and cheek. "Did you hold down the fort while I was gone?" He asked as Kaiba nodded.

"I did sir." He said with a smile as Izuku looked down at him.

"Happy to hear that, Kaiba. Let's go home." Izuku said as the three of them left the airport and got into their car. Kaina got in the driver's seat while Izuku sat down in the passenger and Kaiba in the back. "A twelve-hour flight and now a leisurely car ride home. I can't wait to sit down in something that's not moving." Izuku said cracking his neck. Kaina smirked.

"How was Prague?" She asked as Izuku juggled his hands.

"Striking architecture, hilltop views, and charming markets. The work though it was..." Izuku looked into the rearview mirror at Kaiba before resuming. "It was difficult, but it's all done now." He said leaning back in his seat as Kaina looked at him.

"Is it?" She asked causing Izuku to open one eye and look at her.

"Yes, it is." He said firmly before closing his eyes again. The car ride lapsed into silence as they rode home. Kaiba had so many questions for his dad, but he could wait until they were home.

When they arrived home the small nap Izuku had gotten in the car seemed to energize him. He stepped hurriedly out of the car with a smile on his face. "Come on you two let's order pizza and just relax. I can tell you about my trip." He said as he rushed into their two-floor home. It was a very beautiful home with several bedrooms and a cozy atmosphere. Izuku stepped inside and took a deep breath. "Oh, I've missed this." He said before turning around and hugging them both. "I've missed you!" He said squeezing them both before going to the bedroom he shared with his mother. Kaiba followed after him as Kaina moved into the living room and pulled out her phone intending to order pizza.

Kaiba came through the doorway just as his father opened his briefcase and inside Kaiba saw a gun. It was sleek and jet black. "Dad, where'd you get that?" He asked as Izuku whirled shutting the briefcase.

"Kaiba uh that's just something I take with me when I go overseas." His father said his green eyes going to the shut case with a thumbprint lock. "Hey, why don't you go see what your mom is up to while I take a shower." He suggested as Kaiba scratched his head.

"Sure, thing Dad." He said following his father's suggestion and leaving the room.

Izuku watched his son leave and took a deep breath. "One day we'll talk about this." He said looking at the case as he pushed it under the bed before taking his clothes off and heading for the shower. Izuku caught sight of several of the scars adorning his body and shook his head. "That's all behind me now." He assured himself.

Kaiba walked downstairs seeing his mom sat in front of the TV looking at the foreign news. He couldn't understand the language of what the anchorwoman was saying, but she seemed to be talking about some guy. "Mom, what are you watching?" He asked making Kaina jump before turning the channel.

"Just flipping through the channels." She said settling onto some drama or something. "The pizza should be here soon sweetheart. What's your dad doing?" She asked as he walked over and sat down next to her.

"Taking a shower." He said simply as he leaned against the arm of the couch. "Did you know Dad has a gun he takes with him when he travels?" He asked causing his mother to jump once again. This was wholly unusual to the young Midoriya. His mother was stalwart some might even call her emotionless, so to see her caught off guard not once but twice? Something was very off. Kaina's eyes slowly narrowed back to their usual deadpan way.

"The world can be a dangerous place Kaiba even with heroes." She said her mouth twisting distastefully at the word hero. "Perhaps even more so because of heroes, so your father is just protecting himself while he works." She said with a small smile. Kaiba looked at her as she mentioned his father's work which was something else, he didn't know anything about.

"What does dad do anyway?" Kaiba asked. Before his mother could respond Izuku spoke up as he rounded the corner drying off his hair. His father was dressed in a pair of basketball shorts and a plain blue t-shirt.

"I'm a Problem Solver Kaiba. I work for a company where people go when they have an issue that can't be resolved through average channels. I go and fix whatever issue they have. I'm just a glorified janitor. I clean up messes and smooth over problems no one else can." He said sitting down on the other side of Kaiba. "It just so happens that I get to see the world while I do so." He said patting his son on the back. Kaiba sat there to digest this new information and it made sense. People did have problems that normal people just couldn't solve. As his mind chewed on this their doorbell rang. Izuku smiled as he shot up.

"Must be the pizza." He said moving around the corner into the hallway and disappearing.

"Do you feel better?" Kaina asked stroking his head as he nodded. It was true he did feel better, but what bothered him was that he didn't think he was feeling bad before. It wasn't until he asked the question that he realized that he felt something bad about his dad's job. His dad rounded the corner with pizza but instead of the happy and content look that he'd left with his face was drawn and tight as if he was holding back something angry. As he cleared the corner a man appeared behind his father.

This man was tall and thin he looked odd like someone had stretched a normal man too far. His hair was a severe gray and combed perfectly. It reminded Kaiba of the hair on action figures plastic and immovable. He wore a suit identical to the one his father had worn when he came home. The man gave a smile that didn't reach his eyes before speaking in a voice that was devoid of emotion. "Good evening, everyone my name is Sora Sana, sorry to intrude so soon after you arrived home Izuku but there are some things that need to be discussed." His father stood there with several boxes of Pizza in his arms looking severe.

"I'm well aware and I intended to discuss those matters tomorrow morning." He said replacing the stern look on his face with a similar grin. Sora gave several slow nods.

"I understand that Izuku, but your work was rather urgent and we'd like to speak to you while the facts are fresh in your mind." Kaiba could see his dad clench his teeth before sighing.

"Fine let's talk in the other room." He said placing the pizza down on the coffee table in front of Kaina and himself before turning on his heel and leading Sora away. Kaiba had never seen Sora before, but clearly, his dad knew him and didn't like him.

"Is that Dad's boss?" Kaiba asked looking at his mother and seeing a similar look of irritation on her face.

"No, he's not." She said firmly while glaring at where Sora had disappeared after his father. Kaiba no longer felt better in fact he'd felt worse than before he'd asked those questions. "Let's just eat." She said opening the three boxes of pizza and handing Kaiba a slice. Kaiba did his best to ignore the strange man and his father and just indulge in the pizza, but his curiosity got the best of him. He stood up having eaten two slices of pizza and wiping crumbs from his fingers.

"I'm going to the bathroom." He said leaving. His mother still only halfway through her first slice of pizza nodded. Kaiba rounded the corner and made his way to the bathroom by first passing his father's den. The door was shut, but Kaiba knew that from the vent in the upstairs bathroom, he could listen in on what was said in the den. He walked into the bathroom shutting the door as quietly as possible before crouching down next to the vent on the floor.

"-Contacted us when you landed." That was Sora's voice. It was softer but no less automatic. The man's voice called to mind the image of a machine just spitting out words with no inflection or body just words. Kaiba heard footsteps and then his father's voice.

"As I said I was going to come in tomorrow morning, not that I needed to. Turn on the news and you'll see the job was done, same as me." There was a pause before Sora spoke.

"That's not how this works Izuku, you do the job you report in that's standard and has been the standard for the last fifteen years, and you aren't done." Kaiba wondered what the two men were talking about. Was it that important that his father come in and report that the problem was resolved? No, there was something else going on here he just didn't know what. There was a rush of footsteps and then a thud.

"I don't know who you think I am Sora, but the organization and I had a deal. Fifteen years of work in exchange for her freedom and a clean slate. I've done the work spent the years and now I'm through. This was my last job. I've told you what you wanted to know about it, so you can go back to them and black his name. After you do that mark me as RED and I never want to see any of you ever again." Kaiba's eyes grew wide at the voice he heard. If he didn't know better, he'd have sworn there was another man in the room because that voice didn't belong to Sora and couldn't belong to his father. It was so cold and sharp like a razor made of ice. As Kaiba sat confused and shocked a throat was cleared and then Sora's voice could be heard.

"There's no need to get violent Izuku, you're right you've reported your results as unorthodox as they are, and as you've said your time has been served. I'll be going now. I'm smart enough not to get on the bad side of the Akuma." Sora's voice carried a tone to it this time, Kaiba wasn't sure, but he sounded nervous. Kaiba got up from the bathroom floor as he heard the Study door open. He walked out of the bathroom and moved to the staircase. He watched Sora move quickly, but professionally to their front door and out of it. The front door shut firmly behind him.

Kaiba walked down the stairs as his father came down the hall from his study. The two Midoriyas locked eyes and his father gave a slow smile. "What are you up to Kaiba?" Izuku asked as he slung an arm around his son. Kaiba wished he could ask the dozens of questions in his mind, but if he did, he'd give away the fact that he'd been listening. For now, he'd have to swallow them.

"Bathroom break," Kaiba said hiking his thumb in the direction of the bathroom. He immediately wanted to bite his tongue after saying that. Izuku's eyes slowly panned up to the bathroom in question. From his turned head Izuku's eyes moved to Kaiba looking at him from the corner of his eye. Kaiba felt like he was sweating bullets as his dad looked at him. Did his dad remember about the bathroom vent, did he suspect that Kaiba had heard some of his conversation? The moment stretched out longer and longer until Kaiba felt like either it or he would snap.

"Probably too much Pizza son. You gotta slow down on that." Izuku said smiling as he ruffled his son's hair. "Come on let's get back to your mom. She'll never admit it, but she gets lonely." He said placing his hands on Kaiba's shoulders and steering the boy to the living room. Kaiba silently released a breath of relief. It seemed he'd gotten away with it.

Later that night Izuku sat on the edge of the bed as Kaina looked at his back. "You think he heard you?" She asked in that methodical and soft voice of hers. Izuku shook his head.

"Some not all I'd say. Judging from when you said he left you to when Sora left, I'd say he didn't hear anything definite." Izuku sighed as he took off his socks. "Hopefully he'll lose interest," Izuku said as he felt Kaina plaster herself to her back and kiss his neck.

"It's finally over. You did it." Izuku could hear the slight warble in her voice as she spoke. "Thank you so much Izuku, thank you." She said the dam of her emotions starting to crack.

Izuku turned to face her bringing her to his chest as he kissed the top of her head. "You don't have to thank me Kaina. You've worked just as hard. I didn't do this for thanks, and I did this for us because I love you. This is the beginning of the rest of our lives." Izuku said as Kaina shook her head.

"I've hid here and let you fight for us. I've sat here and spent time with our son while you've been paying for my sins in blood. Yours and others." She whispered as Izuku squeezed her. "You've killed people for that Organization to pay for my freedom. Your hands are covered in blood just like mine." She whispers looking down at her blood-soaked hands only to see Izuku grab one of hers.

"Then that means we belong together Kaina. No one knows the blood we've shed but each other and that's enough." Izuku says. Kaina takes a moment before nodding.

"You're right." She says moving away from him as Izuku stands up to take off his shirt. He was ready for bed, today had been a lot for the both of them and he was ready to sleep. She looked at his back and frowned as a fresh wave of guilt hit her. Izuku's back was dominated by the face of a large red demon's head thick sharp horns rose from its forehead as wild white hair flared out around it. The head was robed in flames and in the flames screaming skulls could be seen. She knew that tomorrow when Izuku went to end his contract a new skull would be added. Above the demon's head written in black ink was one word. Akuma.
