Chapter Three: Family?
I was put into a cell and told that I was to wait until further notice. I know I shouldn't have acted out the way I did, but I couldn't just let that man insult me and my friends and everyone else who had been through it. I don't understand how someone can just say that about another human being. I'm not sure how I'm even going to go get out of this.
After a few hours of sitting on what they call a 'bed', a tall man with blonde hair that was slicked back and had pretty blue eyes, stood in front of my cell giving me a disappointing look.
"Are you Sina Ackerman?" The blonde man spoke crossing his arms over his chest.
I stood up and crossed my arms before looking him up and down. Who is this guy?
"Why does it matter?" I question. Why does this man look familiar?
"Because I asked a question. It's a simple yes or no." He stared blankly at me.
"Yes that's me. Who are you?"
"Follow me."
I sat on couch across from the captain of the regiment who apparently knew and worked with my parents. I thought he looks familiar and it turns out he use to visit when I was younger.
"So am I in deep trouble for what happened with your officers?" I stare at captain Erwin who only looks at me with a small grin.
"Well, I've got say you sure are like your mother. Can't say that's a good thing or anything…" captain Erwin sits back crossing one leg over his other.
"What is that supposed to mean?" I question confused.
"I'm just saying that you sure are your mothers daughter. I'm not surprised that you've only been here for a few days and already punched an officer." Erwin goes on to say before shaking his head. "So, I've heard about what happened back at your home. Im sorry you had to go though that alone and at such a young age." Erwin says dropping his smile looking down.
I don't say anything and just fidget with my necklace around my neck as I just try not to think about what I had to see when the wall was broken by that titan.
"Have you spoken to your uncle since you were brought to the camp?"
I don't even remember what he look like… it's been so long since I last saw him and I was too young. All I know is that my moms brother was a scout and a captain of his regiment who was very well known like her and my dad.
"I didn't even know he was still alive." I say bitterly. It's only true… I did think that maybe he was gone too since he never visited after my parents death. No letter, messages. Nothing. Maybe he just didn't care enough about his sisters daughter who was fending for herself.
"Well he is and he should be here any moment." Erwin stood up as he went over to his desk and grabbed a file handing it to me. "This was left by your parents…I promised that when the time came I would give this to you."
I stare at the file hesitantly as if it was a bomb. I felt my throat tighten up and my chest felt heavy. "This…is from my parents..?" I slowly open the file and my eyes start to water.
It was few letters and a pictures of my parents and me before they passed away. I remember that photo from a few years ago. I close the file quickly before standing up and taking a deep breath.
"Have you looked into the folder?" I asked holding the file close to me.
"No, I kept it closed and sealed and waited to give it to you. Your mother was very adamant that it was given to you if you were to appear at the scouting grounds." Erwin said standing in front of me with his arms at his side. I didn't know mom and dad even saved a folder for me. I wonder why I was only to receive this if I came here.
