Stargazing

"You miss your homeworld, don't you."

"I do Phoenix, but there's no way I could go back. Even if I wanted to." Boris replied, as he sat up, placing a hand on the building outside of the city limits of New York. Wrapping his arm around his waist, one of his legs underneath the other, looking up at the stars longingly.

"How come?" she said puzzled, turned her head a little to the right, looking up at him.

He sighed, before he spoke again. "Boglodosia's probably an uninhabitant lava planet by now."

It fell silent for a while. until, an idea popped in her head. "Hey Boris, do you mind if I give you something."

Boris shook his head. "I wouldn't mind one bit,"

She sat up, reaching into the front side of the picnic basket, retrieving an item, wrapped in light purple tissue paper tied in a single knot. He took it from her hand.

Tearing the knot, the tissue fell in his hand still clutching the present, revealing a wood carving of his pet Weasel.

Bringing it close to his face to inspecte it. He noticed that its wooden legs were glistening in the lights of New York.

Boris turned his head slowly to look at Phoenix's pendant, expecting to see a few nugggets missing from the wire around her neck.

She gave him a look that said, What's wrong

"Wait a minute, if the crystals didn't come from her locket, then where exactly did they come from?" He asked her.

"That's easy," she told him, as shw continued her explanation. "I pucked a couple of my dark purple feathers from my wings. When they solidified, I broke them into shards."

"Thank you my dear. I appreciate it."

"That's not the half of it."

"Huh?" he said confused.

She put her hand on top of the wooden sculpture, giving it some of her spiritual energy.

Boris's ears perked up as he heard the voices of his entire race.

From here on in. he knew that they were always with him.

Boris placed the decorative wooden carving on the concrete roof and went back to staring at the stars.

That is, until a question popped in his head.

"Hey, Phoenix..."

"Yes." she said, not taking her eyes off of the night sky.

"If Boglodosia wasn't assign to her fiery fate, would you go with me?"

"With you, I would go in a heartbeat, but..."

"But what?"

"There's one problem."

"What would that be?"

"Would your people accept me?"

"I don't know about them, but I would accept you either way."

She scooted a little closer to him, planting a gentle kiss on his left cheek.

"I think we could do better than that."

All of a sudden, he stood up, walking over to the edge, placing all four of his limbs on the concrete, swiveling himself around.

"You showed your true power to Death, Let me show you mine."

Then he pounced on me,pinning her down, his hands above her shoulders. While his body is pressed up against mine. With some effort she somehow managed to wrestle her arms from underneath him, wrapping them around his neck, a smile painted my features,

Some time must have passed, before he decided oto get off her, laying right beside her, bring her closer to him. With his left arm, wrapped around her wais, as they continued to watch the stars.
