Chapter 4-Prisoners

Quick note before the chapter begins, this story was written before The ones who lived was released. Just been sitting in a folder for a while.

Daryl's P.O.V

Daryl woke up early the next morning as the sun was just starting to rise in the sky. He got out of his tent and put on his vest, and grabbed his crossbow. He walks over to a small fire where John is sitting down by the fire, making coffee. "You guys have coffee?" Daryl asks as he sits down beside him.

"There is a shop near here, one I would loot when I was alone. Before I met June, they had plenty of it left," John says as he puts a piece of candy in the coffee. He pulls out another piece of candy and hands it to Daryl, who takes it. "You're up early. Usually I'm the only one up this early."

"I'm used to it, back at Alexandria, before the saviors. I would go out hunting and try to bring something back each day. After the saviors, it didn't feel the same. Knowing-" Daryl stops speaking. "After Rick, I would hunt every day. I lived in the woods searching for his body, and even now, I don't know if he is alive or dead."

"I know the feeling," John says. "I met June when she washed up on the shore of this cabin, I helped nurse her back to health, and we fell in love. When we let ourselves embrace that love. She got scared of losing me, and she left. I searched for her for over a year. Every day I searched, and I didn't know if she was dead or alive. I didn't know if I would find her sleeping in a house or if I would find her in a herd of walkers. One day I did find her, I took a bullet for her on that day, and I almost died. Morgan saved me. He is my best friend. He cared deeply for him, and I didn't know how to pay him back. I do now. I'll do whatever I can to help you find Rick Grimes."

"Thanks," Daryl says as the others start to come out of the tents.

Carl's P.O.V

Carl found Michonne sitting on the couch, staring at her sword. "You should do it," Carl says.

"Do what?" Michonne asks.

"Call a meeting of the council. Let all of us decide," Carl says. "That's how it should work. It worked like that at the prison, and everything ran fine."

"The Prison fell because the council decided that finding the Governor wasn't important, and because of that, Daryl and I searched, and then I just searched, and I never found him, and he attacked us. He killed Hershel, and he blew up the prison," Michonne says. "The council fucked up. They didn't listen. One person in charge works. I know how this world works. I'm protecting Alexandria."

"Alexandria isn't the only place left, Michonne. The people at the Kingdom are our family, and the people at Hilltop and Oceanside are our family. The saviors that live in these communities are our family. This is not what Dad wanted."

"Your Dad is gone!" Michonne says.

"He's gone, but he might not be dead. If he's alive and when Daryl comes back with him, he'll want to see us working for the dream he had," Carl says. "Dad once said we are the greater good. Right now, we're not. We're letting Dad down. We're letting Dale, T-dog, Glenn, Tyreese, Hershel, Bob, Beth, and everybody who died during the war down. That's what I know, we're supposed to be the greator good, and I'll make sure we are."

"You gonna take control?" Michonne asks.

"If I have to," Carl says before he walks away.

Alden's P.O.V

Alden walked into Maggie's office and looked at his leader as she sat at the table, staring at the pictures on her wall. "He looks like a good man," Alden says as he looks at the picture of Glenn. Maggie looks at him and nods.

"He was," Maggie says. "Did you hear Sasha last night?"

"Yeah, I did," Alden admits. "Maggie, I'm all your side no matter what happens, but what you guys fought for during the war. That's what I believed in, the idea that Rick had. But first, I believed in you."

"Sasha isn't helpful right now, and Enid is in Alexandria for Carl. What do you suggest I do?" Maggie asks him.

"Find a compromise," Alden says. "You need to find a compromise with Alexandria. Figure out something that makes you both happy."

"You really think that's possible?" Maggie asks.

"I do. I know that you can do that."

"Michonne won't go for it," Maggie says. "She never will, even if I wanted to."

"I never said it had to be with Michonne," Alden says. "I gotta go help, Earl," Alden says as he walks away.

Daryl's P.O.V

Daryl leaned up against his bike as John, Nick, June, Dwight, and Alicia gathered around the truck close to his bike. "Daryl, come on," John says, and Daryl walks over to them and looks at the map.

"We'll be going to rock point," John says. "We set a box down there two weeks ago?"

"A box?" Daryl asks.

"Yeah, we've been setting out boxes with supplies and tape. We're trying to help people, and we try to check on the locations as much as possible," Nick says.

"Seems dangerous. Someone could ambush you," Daryl says.

"You don't think we should help people?" June asks.

"I don't think you should leave a box out letting them know you'll be coming back," Daryl answers.

"We could see about a radio, we don't want another Logan situation, or we could scout the place better first."

"I'll talk with Morgan," John says. "Today, we'll scout the place. When we get out of our cars, we'll break into groups of two. Dwight and Nick, June and I, and Daryl and Alicia. We'll check the box first, and then we'll move on, search for supplies."

"Alright, let's go then," Daryl says as he grabs his crossbow and walks toward his bike.

"You heard him," Nick says with a smile as he walks towards the truck.

Abraham's P.O.V

Abraham walked into the church and looked at Gabriel. "What can I do for you, Abraham?" Gabriel asks.

"We need to talk about, Michonne," Abraham says as he shuts the front door. He walks over to the side door and sees Negan staring at him, and then he shuts the door.

"I didn't know if anybody cared," Gabriel says as he sits down. "Some people here just want to be safe."

"The people are Hilltop are family," Abraham says. "Maggie's there. Tara's there, Jesus, Sasha, and Hershel."

"Michonne won't listen to us. You know that as well as I do," Gabriel says.

"I know," Abraham says. "I want to call a council meeting and remove Michonne from power."

Gabriel stares at the man, not showing his shock but just blankly staring at the large man. After a moment, he speaks. "Who would we put in her place?"

"Carl," Abraham says. "Rick saw the same thing in that boy that all of us have seen."

"Let's say I agree with this. You would need every council member to agree. I do not imagine you will have much trouble convincing Aaron. But Laura, she's been loyal to Michonne since she came here, maybe it is because she is afraid for Negan or maybe it is because she is scared of what Michonne might do to her and then you have to convince Carl, Michonne's best friend, and Carl's mother in all but blood. If you can convince Carl, he'll convince Enid. Even if all of this works, we then have to figure out a way for Maggie to accept that Negan is going to live and not try anything like that ever again."

"Sounds like we have a lot of work to do, father," Abraham says with a smirk.

"I suppose we do, Sergeant."

Rosita's P.O.V

Rosita grabbed a rifle off the armory wall and looked at the door as it opened, and Laura walked in. "Where are you going?" She asks her.

"Ezekiel radioed and said there was a group of rouge saviors."

"There are multiple groups of rouge saviors, one led by Jed. Another by Norris and a few more," Laura says.

"I know," Rosita says. "This one attacked the Kingdom. Stole food. We can't let them get away with it."

"So what? We kill them for stealing food."

"They didn't just steal food. They almost killed William and beat him when he tried to stop them. Next time it could be Ezekiel, Carol, Henry, or Jerry. So yeah, I'm going to kill them. I'm meeting Jerry and Carol," Rosita says as he puts the rifle around her back.

"Let me come," Laura says. Rosita looks at her. "Please, they were my people, but I know they need to die, so let me help."

"Fine, meet me out by the gate in ten minutes," Rosita says as she leaves, and Laura nods.

Virginia's P.O.V

Virginia sat in her office staring at the wall when there was a knock. She looked at the door and motioned the man inside. "Is this about the Oil field or Logan?" Virginia asks.

"Niether, none one has seen Logan and that group still has control of the Oil field," Her right-hand man Hill tells her. "We spotted another one."

"Do you have a location on it?" Virginia asks him.

"Yes, they touched down, but we should be able to get close enough to take them down as they take off," Hill tells her.

"Good, do it. Bring back any survivors you find," Virginia tells him.

No one's P.O.V

A group of CRM soldiers stood beside their chopper as it refilled. One man wearing a jacket and black pants sat against the chopper staring at the ground. "Why do we have to move this asshole anyways?" One of the soldiers asks.

"He tried to escape. He was too close to his home. We're taking him north, taking him to the base in Colorado," The soldier says.

"That bitch screwed us over, she said he was strong, but all he has proven to be is a pain in our ass," The CRM soldier says.

"We're ready," The pilot says.

The soldier grabs the man's jacket and he pulls his arm away, and the man hits him in the face with his gun knocking him to the ground. "Come on, Rick. You know how this is going to go," The soldier says. Rick Grimes glares up at the man as he grabs Rick by his shirt and pushes him into the chopper. He presses his handgun against Rick's head. "Go."

Thanks for reading. Rick is in the story now. He has a story in Texas as well. Next chapter, Rick escapes the CRM and finds a new ally and new enemies. Daryl and the group investigate the scene. Abraham and Gabriel talk with the other council members, and Rosita hunts the saviors. As always, suggestions, ideas, and feedback are welcomed. Until next time.
