It was a bright Friday morning where a young man was currently sleeping in a dark room sleeping on a bed with their arms and legs sprawled all over as if he was uncomfortable, but his mouth was closed and his breathing was light and gentle.

The rays of the sun then got into his face causing him to groan loudly as he opened his eyes and was met with the brightness of the sun.

Getting up from the bed was a young man with clear skin and short white hair with an average build as he was in shorts and a grey shirt with socks on. He was walking to the window with his eyes closed, opening the curtain. Once the rays of the sun hit his face, he groaned in protest, revealing his ocean blue eyes. The young boy wasn't fully awake, so he was literally staring at the sun, it wasn't until he felt his eyes starting to water that he finally closed the curtains.

"Ugh, so tired…"

He groaned as he rubbed his eyes with his forearm before letting out another a yawn, a bit longer than the last. As he attempted to regain his sight, he started to walk over to the door and was about to open it but he grabbed nothing but air as the door had opened by itself. Falling forward he was about to fall on the floor until suddenly…

Boing~ Boing~

"Huh?" Still a bit groggy, he turned his head up and saw that his face was squished in between something soft.

"Hmhm, still sleepy Yoshiro?" A soft voice whispered in his ears. Holding him, was a very tall foxlike woman with a curved figure. She had blonde hair that reached her shoulders with a single strand going down the right side of her face, and large blue eyes with bushy eyelashes, pointed ears and green fur with a white underbelly. She was also in her pajamas consisting of a dark blue nightdress.

This is Yoshiro's mother, Ippan Josei.

The young boy wasn't bothered by it or embarrassed as he let out a small groan while still trapped in the woman's cleavage.

"Morning Mom." He greeted as his mumbling caused the woman holding him to giggle.

"Morning sweetie." She greeted back while gently lifting his head from her chest. Like him, she wasn't really bothered by it. "Didn't get enough of sleep?"

"Maybe…. Don't know… who cares…" He yawned drifting in and out of sleep. "Not really feeling it." Ippan looked behind the boy and frowned as she saw the state of his room.

"Yoshiro, I thought I told you to clean your room." Ippan gently chided as the boy just rubbed his eyes.

"I know, I'll do it later. I want to go back to sleep, it's Friday. The day to laze away." Yoshiro said as he wanted to do nothing more than go back to his bed and sleep away.

"Come on, you know you have school in 2 hours so I think it's time to start getting dressed." She said while patting his head. She could see that the boy let out a groan and whine in protest.

"Don't want to… school so boring…." He mumbled as his mother rolled her eyes playfully. She then lift him under his armpits this time and then spoke.

"Well, how about this? If you can clean your room within the next 30 minutes, I'll make you your favorite breakfast." Ippan offered as Yoshiro opened one eye in an instant at her offer.

"French Toast?" He asked.

"Mhm." Ippan answered. Immediately Yoshiro was no longer drowsy and now wide awake, standing in front of her with a grin on his face.

"Nevermind, I feel alive and ready to go! I'll go get ready!" He exclaimed while jumping out of her arms and then ran back into his room and closed the door, leaving behind a trail of dust. Ippan couldn't help but giggle at her son's antics as she heard things thrown being around in his room. She then went back to her room to get ready as well.

After 10 minutes, she had made her way down to the kitchen and started making breakfast. She went ahead and took out all the ingredients she needed for French Toast, she then frowned when she realized that she couldn't find any bread.

"Oh, where is it? I know I bought some the other day. Oh dear!" Ippan started to slightly panic as she feared that she wouldn't be able to make her son's favorite food, she then searched the pantry closet, on top of the fridge and couldn't find it.

"Everything okay?" Ippan let out a small shriek at the sudden sound of Yoshiro's voice. Turning around, she saw that he was still in his pajamas.

"Mmm… well I can't find the bread. I know I bought some but I can't remember where I placed it." She said as she was worried that her son would be sad.

"Oh!" Yoshiro voiced as he realized why she was panicking. "If that was the problem, I can go ahead and just run to the store and get us some." He offered.

"That's very sweet of you Shiro but I don't want you to do that because of me. Besides, the only place I could've put it would be…" Ippan paused as her eyes lit up in realization. "Oh, now I remember!" She walked past her son as he stared at her in confusion and then followed her.

Ippan left the kitchen and went to the right of the living room where the door was to the garage and looked around until she spotted a chest freezer and sitting on top of it was a bag. She went over and grabbed the bag and reached inside pulling out a bag of brioche bread.

"Thank heavens." She sighed in relief.

"So that's where you put the bread." Yoshiro commented.

"Nearly gave myself a panic attack." Ippan said as she closed the door behind her.

"Alright, I'll go finish cleaning my room." Yoshiro said before running back to his room. While he was doing this, Ippan went back to making breakfast. About 25 minutes in, she was already in the middle of cooking the French toast in one pan and eggs in another as she kept breaking them apart and moving them around with a spatula. She heard footsteps coming towards her and her son's voice.

"I finished!" He shouted as he entered the kitchen. Ippan turned around and saw her son wearing his school uniform. "Room is clean. No mess, no leftover piles of clothes, all spick and span."

"Good, you just finished in time." Ippan stated as she was finishing her cooking. "I'm almost done with breakfast."

"Sweet." Yoshiro beamed as he immediately grabbed the plates and utensils before setting up the table as his mother finished cooking the food. The two sat down and sat down, thanking for the food before digging in.

"Yoshiro."

"Hm?" Her son replied with a mouth full of French toast causing her to giggle. "Sorry, what's up?"

"Do you have any plans on what you want to do for the future, which college you want to go to?" Ippan asked as she watched him swallowed his food and then wiped his mouth with a napkin.

"Well… of course I do. I want to become the next Kitsune!" Yoshiro beamed.

"I know you do. I'm asking is there anything else that you want to do besides that?" She asked

"I'm not sure what you mean by that." Yoshiro said in confusion while tilting his head.

"What I mean is that are there any other careers that interest you besides being a hero?" Ippan elucidated.

"Hmm." Yoshiro hummed while putting a hand on his chin. "Well, nothing really comes to mind at the moment plus I'm not into the whole hero thing. Oh, I do want to become a poltergeist!" He said with a smile on his face.

"Um, honey, I don't think you should become that." Ippan stated nervously as she did not want her son to haunt people.

"Why not? Poltergeists are ghosts and they are known for their mischievous behavior, my kind of hobby." Yoshiro stated while tapping his fingers together in an evil manner.

"No ghosts!" Ippan shrieked before regaining her composure. "Yoshiro, as much as I know you love watching those paranormal exploring tv shows, I don't want you doing stuff like that. Mostly the poltergeist part."

"Don't worry Mom, I'm not gonna suddenly go off to an abandon building and start exploring the supernatural." He started causing her to sigh in relief. "I'm gonna get all the tools I need for the expedition and then go exploring the supernatural."

'I can't change his mind, can I?' Ippan whined inwardly before she decided to change the topic.

"Well, how about your friends?"

"Um… well if it wasn't for the fact that I'm part fox, then maybe people wouldn't always try to mess with my ears." Yoshiro replied with a pout as his ears nodded in agreement. "Then again, I do pull pranks on them in retaliation so it's alright." He finalized while shrugging his shoulders.

"No, it's not!" Ippan protest comically. Inwardly though, she was worried for her child. Her son wasn't shy by any means. He was outgoing, mischievous and bright. If people could just look past his fox features, then they could see that he was a kind person. She just hoped that he would be able to make some friends in the future.

Ippan turned her head to the clock and saw that it was almost time for both of them to go. Her son followed her gaze and realized that they needed to leave. Both of them went ahead and cleaned up the table and dishes, getting themselves together and were now out the door. Heading down the building to the train station that was also part of the building. As they arrived, they stopped at a gate that showed 3 different lines heading into different directions.

Yoshiro turned to his mother and gave her a hug.

"Have nice day Mom! Don't let anyone treat you differently. If they do, I'll find them and kick them in the nuts!" Yoshiro beamed as Ippan giggled.

"I won't. That goes the same for you. Have a wonderful day and no pranks!" She said before gently scolding him.

"It's the last the day!" He argued as Ippan frowned and gave him a firm look causing him to pout. "Fine~, I won't do any pranks..." He started before giving her mother a grin filled with mischief. "Unless they ask for it.

Ippan sighed in exhaustion but a smile played on her lips as she knew that it was just who her son was. She wrapped her arms around him once more and kissed his temple.

"I love you sweetheart."

"Love you too Mom." Yoshiro smiled brightly at his mother before letting go of her as they both went their separate ways with her going to the orange line and him going to the red line.

After a one-hour train ride, Yoshiro was making his way to school as he was humming to himself.

'Okay so after school, I have to meet up with my mentor for another round of chaos and then head to the dump known as the beach for some training!' Yoshiro thought as he was walking with a smile on his face. He stopped when he heard what sounded like a shriek.

Using his senses, his ears picked up where the sound came from. He immediately ran towards that area and came upon an alleyway. Slowly creeping, he hid behind a dumpster when he saw a sight that made him angry.

A teenage girl was getting bullied by three other kids. One with bats, one with long fingers and then one with a spiky blonde hair. The last one was holding the girl by her collar and she looked completely terrified. Her bag was on the floor with her supplies scattered on the pavement.

"K-k-kachan…. P-please l-let me go…" The girl pleaded before letting another of shriek as the blonde had set a blast off his hand right next to her.

"Listen Deku, why do you continue to try to be a hero? You won't even last three seconds out there. I've told you time and time again that you need to quit trying to be a hero and yet you continue to ignore me. You looking down on me, huh!? You think you're better than me! Huh!?" The blonde jerk questioned with his voice getting louder and louder.

Yoshiro's ears perked up at the sounds of whimper. The girl was too afraid to respond and her eyes were closed harshly.

"Bakugo, let's beat her up already."

"Yeah, let's make sure she can't get up while we're at it!"

"Shut up Fuckfaces!" Bakugo shouted before turning his head to his victim as with his hand raised near her face. "I'm going to say this once more Deku, you're pathetic and weak. Get it through your thick skull that you will never be a hero! Got it!?" He shouted as he was about to strike her and the girl closed her eyes waiting for an attack.

"Excuse me!" All of them stopped at what they were doing and looked behind them. They saw a boy with white hair with fox ears protruding from his head with a smile on his face. "Sorry, I was trouble trying to find a book shop around here and I got lost. Do you know the uh nearest way I can go?"

"The fuck!?" The blonde didn't let go of the girl but turned his attention to the boy behind him, and notice the tails twirling behind him.

"Hey Look, it's one of those mutant freaks!" The finger boy stated.

"Mutant?" Yoshiro tilted his head before looking behind him and fake gasp. "Ah, right my ears. Hehehe, sorry about that, but yeah, I'm a fox." He stated, glancing at the way the boys were surrounding the girl. "Say, what are you guys doing to her?"

"None of your damn business. Unless you know what's good for you, you stay out of the way and run along." The blonde Chihuahua growled before raising his hand outward as sparks lit along his palm.

"So, you're bullying her?" He deduced paying attention to how all the boys had their quirks out but the girl didn't, either out of fear or had it on standby. "That's messed up."

"Oi, I would walk away now, freak." The one with long fingers insulted.

"Yeah, run away so you don't join the Deku over here." The bat wings kid said as the girl flinched at the name.

"Well now I can't do that. Look at her, she's clearly distressed and you guys are threatening her along with insulting her… I'm going to have to report you guys to the police." Yoshiro stated. "You three won't get off lightly but the blondie over here, I feel like he has a short fuse in him and looks like he's just about to explode. Hmm, that doesn't sound like he'll get a slap on the wrist."

Angry, the blonde let go of the girl who immediately slumped to the ground and was now staring at the newcomer in fear for him. She didn't want him to get hurt because of her.

"You got five seconds to get out Fox Freak, or do you want the same treatment as Deku?" The blonde threatened. "I won't have her or you ruin my future. The future of the number one hero right here."

"Hmm, well while that is concerning, I have two things to do first." He started before turning the girl. "Hey, can you cover your eyes and ears for one minute please?" He asked with a gentle tone.

The girl looked at him and wondered why he was asking her for that, but didn't want to deny thinking he might be after her. She then closed her eyes and covered her ears with her hands.

Once he saw that she listened, Yoshiro turned his attention back to the bullies.

"Now then, while I'm sure you three are ready to pummel my body into mess of tangled limbs and what not, you have bigger things to worry about, like this for example." Yoshiro said confusing all three of them. "I took your pants." He said with a grin on his face while holding up three pairs of pants.

The three of them were confused until they looked down and realized that all of them were in their briefs or boxers.

"What the!?"

"H-How did he!?" The bat kid and long finger teen shouted in fright.

"I took your pants, dumdums!~" Yoshiro said, waving the said clothes in the air while the blonde growled at the fox boy who was just grinning at him.

"You little shit!"

"You want it back?" He teased while waving them in the air before suddenly…

ZIP!

"You'll have to catch me!" He yelled as he ran into the opposite direction into another alley.

The blonde kid growled as he wasted no time using his quirk and blasted towards the fox boy, who was laughing like a maniac. The two lackeys also followed as well, wanting revenge on the boy for humiliating them.

Only the girl was left in the alley as she was still shaking from the experience. She was afraid of what might happen next until she felt a gentle tap on her shoulder. Slowly, she opened her eyes and was greeted with a smile.

"Alright, they're all gone." He said as he held his hand out to her.

She didn't say anything other than she just gently took his hand and was pulled up from the ground. She looked around and noticed that the boy had already pulled her bag from floor and had put her supplies back into her backpack as if it was never thrown to the floor.

"H-how did you-?" She was a bit confused on how the boy picked her stuff up so quickly.

"Don't worry about it. Let's just say I'm a master of trickery and mischief!" Yoshiro beamed while raising his fists into the air. "Anyway, how are you feeling?"

"I-I'm o-okay now. T-thank you for your h-h-help." The greenette bowed as the fox kid just pulled her back up.

"Hey now, no bowing. I'm not royalty or rich, I'm just average mutant neighborhood fox boy." He stated as the girl tilted her head.

"D-did you just try to use a reference and then reworded it?" She asked as the fox slowly turned his head away from her.

"Well, I can't say I'm Spider-Man because obviously I'm not a spider and can't shoot organic webbing from my wrists, so I have to come up with something." Yoshiro stated as he comically flailed his arms, and his expression formed into a pout.

The girl couldn't help but find his pouting adorable and let out a small giggle. The latter heard her and smiled that he was able to get her to smile a bit after what had happened.

"T-thank y-y-you for helping me but I should get going."

"Are you sure?" He asked, not wanting the girl to be by herself after the bullying she just experienced. If only he knew how deep it was.

"It's okay. I'll be fine." She gave him a small smile as they both exited the alley. She then gave him a quick bow and waved at him. "T-Thank you for helping me, I-I hope you have a nice day."

Yoshiro nodded his head and wave his hand as she left. He then realized something.

'Oh, I didn't get her name. I should follow her just to make sure she gets to school safely but that would make me a stalker.' Yoshiro thought before turning around and headed into the opposite the direction.

He didn't like it, but he would just have to hope that the girl would get there safely.

Neither of them knew that they would meet again later on.

Yoshiro arrived at a park. He wasn't going to the said school as he had finished classes the day before and since today was the final day, no one really needed to be in school unless they miss their final class, or if they didn't care.

Mostly the latter.

He soon found himself a bench to sit on and swung his legs back and forth as he waited for his mentor and friend to show up.

He sat alone for about half hour until a voice reached his ears.

"Hey, Yoshi-chan!" He turned his head and smiled as he knew who it was. Coming up was a girl with pale ash-blonde hair stopping right at her shoulders and two chin-length side bangs that framed her face, yellow eyes with slit-like irises that resemble a cat, and her wide mouth that also resembled that of a feline with long canines that gave her a somewhat vampire appearance. Her school clothes consisting of a white seifuku with a red scarf around her neck, black vest with a blue jacket, plaid skirt with high knee socks and brown loafers.

"Himiko, great to see you." Yoshiro greeted with a wave as the said blonde came over and gave him a hug. "How are you feeling, how was high school?"

"Boring." She whined as she sat down beside the boy on the bench. "It's so boring that there's nothing to do. No real fun nowadays."

"That bad, huh?"

"Mmhm. I was just about ready to go ahead and pull the fire alarm just to get out early but if I did that then my donors would be notified and next thing you know, another long lecture on why I can't be perfect." Himiko explained while crossing her arms, growling at the mention of her parents.

"Still giving you a hard time?" Yoshiro teased as Himiko let out a sigh.

"You have no idea."

"Oh, that reminds me!" Yoshiro suddenly remembered earning a tilted look from Himiko as the fox boy immediately rolled up his sleeve revealing his arm. "You need some blood, here." He offered only for her to deny it.

"Yoshiro, I don't need blood."

"You don't?" It was his turn to tilt his head until his eyes lit up in realization and he snapped his fingers. "Right, you need a flesh wound in order to suck my blood." He then reached into his pocket, having a scrunched-up facial expression while he was searching for something and smiled when he found it and pulled it out. "Here we can use this." He pulled out a kitchen knife. "A Knife!"

"No!" Himiko screeched comically before lightly chopping the boy on his head. "I don't want you to give me your blood Yoshi-chan. I told you that I would only take your blood if it's an emergency."

"Boo." Yoshiro protested with a sign over his head earing a chuckle from his blonde companion.

"If it makes you feel better, I still have the blood packs from last month. Been going through it when I start to tingle and get feisty." Himiko reassured.

"That's good."

"You never told me where you got those from anyway."

"Trade secret." So, what do you want to do today?"

"Talking."

"Just talking?" Yoshiro repeated with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah, it's our last day but also we haven't just done that in a while so… today we just talk."

"Oh okay." Yoshiro complied as he turned his full attention to her.

"Do you want to be a hero?" Himiko started off.

"Not really." Yoshiro answered earning a look of surprise from the girl.

"Why is that?"

"It's mostly due to the fact that it won't change anything. I mean sure I can be a hero but what would I really accomplish? I want a place where people are equal to each other regardless of who or what they are, but that's nothing more than a pipe dream. No matter how many times we want it to happen, someone out there is always going to be that jerk that starts something for whatever reason and it ends up on the social media and the next thing you know everyone's picking sides and boom, the cycle repeats."

"Well, when you put like that, I can't say I don't agree with you." Himiko corresponded as she remembered her childhood days when her quirk came in and how much her parents were forcing her to repress her quirk and the tendencies it brought from having it, along with calling her a monster and being inhuman. The only reason she hasn't snapped was because of the boy sitting next to her. On the day she was ready to lose control, he offered a helping hand to her after seeing how hungry she was, asking if she needed food and to her surprise he offered her his arm.

'I guessed. You fangs make you look like a vampire, so all vampires need blood! It's logic 101.'

Those were the words he said, and it was funny how the first person she met outside of her school and parents was the first to figure out how to help her. She drank his blood that day, not too much nor too little. She was so hungry and when his blood entered her system, she felt euphoric and bliss for going so long without having blood. After regaining her senses, she remembered what happened and was afraid of what she had done to him but instead of a fearful expression, he just smiled at her as if it didn't bother him.

'I still can't believe he was the only one willing to help me after everything that's happen to me.'

"That's just people. They see what's going on and they know what's wrong but instead of reaching out or solving the problem, they ignore it. Making it worse for themselves until it erupts to the point where everyone suffers." Himiko stated earning a look of awe from Yoshiro.

"Whoa, when did you get all philosophical?"

"Just now. Pretty good right?" Himiko smirked as she huffed with a bit of arrogance.

"Eh." Yoshiro just shrugged his shoulders with a deadpanned expression.

"Jerk." Himiko jabbed playfully while punching his shoulder as he stuck his tongue out in return. "So if you don't want to be a hero, what do you want to be?"

"A poltergeist!" Yoshiro beamed at her, earning a laugh in return.

"That sounds like you. I could already see you going from place to place and trying to become one with the ghosts."

"I mean, I can already see them so—"

"Yeah, yeah. Still, you sure you don't want to be a hero, you have the powers for it?" Himiko pressed on, wondering if there was another reason why Yoshiro didn't want to be one.

"Not really no, and I still don't understand why we need permission to use our powers. We shouldn't need permission if it comes to a life-or-death situation and people are already breaking the law all the time against those whose quirks are deemed villainous or quirkless, so there's no point."

"The guilty go unpunished and the victim is left in pieces." Himiko sighed with exhaustion laced in her voice. "Sometimes it makes me wonder why we even have these rules in the first place if the government is always going to protect the criminal and not the ones who actually suffered. And the Heroes are no better since nowadays it's all about fame and fortune."

"Yeah, if heroes were less greedy about fame and more passionate about making the world a better place, we wouldn't have so much blood and acts of violence as we do now but hey one can dream." Yoshiro sighed in annoyance before changing his tone to ask another question. "Speaking of which, aren't you going to be one?"

"I definitely will. I want to go UA but I'm not sure if I can make it. I have to pass a written exam and physical exam, and I'm not prepared for either one." Himiko answered with a nervous expression.

"Well, you're pretty agile and move like a cat so at least you have that." Yoshiro joked.

"I still need to be able to learn how to fight." Himiko said flicking the fox on the forehead.

"What you need is a training course! And I got the perfect the place to do it! Dagobah Beach!" Yoshiro exclaimed, not even bothered by the flick to his forehead.

"The City Dump?" Himiko asked.

"Yes, and we can use that as training along with other things." Yoshiro declared.

"Alright then, Dagobah it is." Himiko agreed knowing that Yoshiro won't tell her anything else unless he wants to, mainly because he already has a plan in mind and would rather surprise her then tell her now.

"Sweet, meet me there on… actually what's a good day for you?" Yoshiro enquired.

"Saturday." Himiko asked, since the weekend was one of the few things she had control over which involved being away from her donors.

"Alright. See you Saturday, Himiko!" Yoshiro beamed as he waved her bye before he started running in the other direction on all fours like an actual fox as the blonde girl watched him go.

Yoshiro was walking down the street with a book in his left hand and a pen in his right as he coming with ideas on how to help Himiko improve her chances of entering UA. While he doesn't want to become a hero, that didn't mean he couldn't help her be one.

"Okay, so I got the normal exercises revolving around aerobic and anaerobic, running laps around the beach as well though I think I should also add other destinations from different parts of Musutafu so that way we can always try for a better goal." He was walking on autopilot, dodging other people, poles or other objects. He then turned a corner and decided to walk down an empty alley, it wasn't one of those dark alleys where common thugs could jump on you and take your things. He had two sets of ears, his normal ears and his fox ears. He never understood why he had two sets of ears but never questioned it, so it didn't really matter.

There was nothing down the alley, so he was okay.

"We could also add something to help Himiko's quirk. Though, I wonder where I'm going to get blood since she refuses to take mine." Yoshiro thought unaware that something was about to happen.

"Maybe if I can-

Thud!

"Hm." He put his book down and noticed a yellow bag had hit the ground, scattering its contents along the pavement. "Did that just fall from the sky?" He slowly looked up wondering if it was raining backpacks but when he looked up what he saw caused his eyes to widen in shock. Someone was falling to the deaths, and they were coming at a rapid pace.

Quickly, the fox boy dropped his own items and started running towards the said person hoping to catch them in time. He looked around to see if anything could cushion the blow from the impact, he didn't see anything until his eyes spotted and old mattress along with some random garbage bags filled with trash. With enhanced speed, he quickly moved all of the said items into a single spot and then back to his own watching the person come down. At the right moment with a burst of speed, he ran and ran before his last step caused a small crack in the pavement and jumped into the air, catching the said person and wrapping his arms around them before using his own body to take the fall damage as they landed into the pile of mattress and garbage bags.

"Ow." He moaned from the impact while at the same time thinking that there was something to cushion the fall. "Are you okay?" He asked as he looked down at the said person and immediately recognized them.

It was the same girl he helped earlier. Her emerald eyes that were filled with light, was now empty and hollow as if there was nothing there anymore.

"W….y…" He leaned closer to listen to her.

"Why… did you… save me?" Yoshiro was confused what she was asking but the look in her eyes says it all.

"I wanted… to be free…."

"I wanted… the nightmare… to be over…"

"…I wanted… to die…" She whispered before the adrenaline left her body and faded into unconsciousness.
