Cayenne sighed to herself at the man sitting next to her. She was sitting by the counter in a bar and the man next to her was trying his luck. Clearly he didn't understand that no meant no.
"Come on," he tried again. "Let's have some fun. A pretty, little thing like you shouldn't be out drinking alone."
"She's not alone," a woman said.
Cayenne turned her head and settled her chocolate brown eyes on the black haired woman who had placed herself in the middle of the drama.
"What's it to you?" The man asked.
"That's my girlfriend," the woman said.
Cayenne smiled at the woman. She didn't mind being called her girlfriend. She was pretty and clearly knew how to handle the idiot next to them.
"How about a threesome?" He asked.
The man smirked but his face quickly dropped and he let out a yelp.
"Please," he whispered.
Cayenne dropped her eyes to his crotch and saw the woman had a small knife in her hand and was threatening to cut off his manhood through his pants. She had positioned herself so that no one else could see what was going on.
"Walk away," the woman said. "And do it fast."
"Sorry," he said.
He hurried away and the black haired woman took the seat he had been sitting on.
"You're pretty. I like your hair," she said.
Cayenne smiled at the compliment. The woman reached a hand over and tucked some of her brown, curly hair behind her ear.
"I'm Paige," the woman said.
"I'm Cayenne," Cayenne said. "Thank you for helping me."
"I spotted him from across the room. I couldn't sit back and just let him harass you," Paige said.
"Can I buy you a beer or drink as a thank you?" Cayenne said.
"Whiskey and coke," Paige said.
"You heard her," Cayenne smiled at the bartender. "Make it two."
Their drinks were quickly served and they cheered with each other. They sipped their drinks and talked with each other until Cayenne started feeling bad. She shook her head but the feeling didn't go away.
"I don't feel so good," Cayenne said.
"Let's go outside for some air," Paige said.
Paige placed her arm around Cayenne's waist and they walked outside as if they were a couple just going out for a mouthful of air. Once outside Paige didn't stop. She continued to walk away from the bar while supporting Cayenne.
"Where are we going?" Cayenne mumbled.
"Close your eyes and relax," Paige said. "I got you."
Cayenne kept feeling worse. Her body felt heavy and her eyes wouldn't remain open. Eventually they stopped walking and Cayenne felt Paige hold her up. A male voice started speaking but she couldn't open her eyes to figure out who he was or what was going on. His voice sounded familiar but her mind couldn't connect the dots.
"She's asleep," Paige said.
Cayenne couldn't protest. Sleep was taking over no matter how hard she tried to fight it.
"I'll take her," the man said. "Thank you."
