Jacob's angry roar sounded through the house and everyone went quiet. He came running into the common room and stared at them all.
"What's going on?" Tama asked.
"They raided Pete Dunne's orphanage and found out several kids were missing. They already moved the remaining kids to other places, and Pete says the ones we got ran away," Jacob said.
"Will he stick to that lie?" Tama asked.
"He better. He knows what will happen if he talks. He's not safe from me in jail," Jacob said.
Solo looked at Cayenne and leaned closer.
"You wouldn't have to have something to do with this, would you?" He asked.
"I'm not that stupid," she said.
"Are you sure? Because you were stupid enough to cheat on Roman," he said.
She looked at him and saw that sickening smirk on his face.
"We both know I would never have come to you willingly. You had to drug me to get me in your bed. Some man you are. You can't even get a woman the normal way. You're fucking pathetic," she said.
The slap sounded through the room. Everyone looked at Solo and Cayenne.
"Pathetic," Cayenne whispered.
Solo jumped up and grabbed her throat. He pulled her up from the chair and slammed her back first down on the table. He stepped in between her legs and stared her down.
"How about I make sure you're awake this time?" Solo asked.
Cayenne was well aware of everyone staring at them but she kept her eyes on Solo. She wasn't about to show any fear.
"You still have to force yourself on me in order to get me," Cayenne said. "You're fucking pathetic, Solo."
"Shut up!" Solo screamed.
Solo put more pressure on her throat and she struggled to breathe. She didn't want to show she was scared but her body started moving on its own in an attempt to squirm away from him. She clawed at his hand but he just kept choking her.
"Solo!" Jacob's voice sounded loud.
"She's the one who ratted out Pete. I fucking know it," Solo said.
Jacob snapped his fingers at Tama, and Tama moved in to pull Solo away.
"What?" Solo yelled.
"Enough," Jacob said.
Tama kept standing right in front of Solo while Jacob walked over to the table. He grabbed Cayenne's arm and pulled her up from the table.
"Did you rat out Pete?" Jacob said.
"I would never go against you," Cayenne said.
"That would be a stupid move on your part," Jacob said.
"When will I have proven my loyalty to you? To any of you? I've been here for almost a year now and I've never done anything to make you question me, yet you still do. How much more do I have to suffer everytime Solo loses his temper?" Cayenne asked.
Cayenne knew that once Jacob thought rationally about it, he would see she couldn't have done it. He didn't allow her to have a phone and he always had someone following her around or he was watching her on cameras. Something she pretended not to know anything about.
"Alright. Go clean yourself up. Solo won't be a problem. You have my word," Jacob said.
"Thank you," Cayenne said.
Cayenne hurried out of the room. She heard several slaps and Solo's cry of pain as she walked down the hall. Solo would be fine. A few slaps and punches, and all would be forgotten and forgiven. No one cared enough about her to truly put Solo in his place.
She moved into the bathroom and locked the door. She walked over to the sink, grabbed it with both hands, and stared in the mirror. Her face was red and tears were still running down her cheeks.
"Fuck them all!" She growled to her mirror image. "Roman came through. They're all coming through for you."
