Lavinia twirled in front of the mirror, studying her image carefully as her uniform skirt flowed around her. It looked as good on her as it would anyone else she supposed. But still, she felt uncomfortable because of what it meant and what it represented. It meant she was officially a student of The Academy where the brightest scholars of Panem learned to subjugate the districts and feel superior about themselves as they did. It was despicable, it was disgusting, but it was her life and her father's legacy.

"Lavinia, my darling," Came her father's voice. Lavinia forced a smile as he stepped into the room. Of course he would want to see her in her uniform, he had to have final say on everything, afterall. With one snap of his fingers, the stylist, who had stepped aside to give her a moment to see if 'it spoke to her', scurried over to her father. "It looks lovely on her, don't you think, Sabine?" Her father motioned her closer and Lavinia hesitated for half a second before she complied.

"It suits her, President Snow," Sabine agreed. "Academy rouge is hard to pull off, your daughter is a thing of beauty, truly."

Coriolanus nodded his agreement as he looked Lavinia up and down. "And what do you think, my dear?"

"It fits well, father," Lavinia answered. "I'll adjust to it."

"I have no doubt that you will," Coriolanus agreed. With a flick of his wrist, he waved Sabine off. Once the room was empty, Coriolanus smiled at his daughter, though it wasn't warm and affectionate. It was tight, controlled. "You will do well at the Academy and I expect that you will come into your own there. You are my future, part of the Snow legacy and you will not disappoint me."

Lavinia nodded. "I won't let you down."

She could feel her heart racing in her chest. Her father hadn't enrolled her in schooling of any kind before. He would hire professors privately to educate her. She hardly knew the people who would become her peers. Yes, she saw them at parties and events, but there was always supervision, always a parent eager to please her father ensuring their child remained on their best behaviour. No room for anyone to show their true nature. The Academy would change all of that. Yes, there would be supervision but not as much. More room for oversight, anything could happen and the thought terrified Lavinia. She knew her problems were minuscule compared to those of the District citizens, who had to fight to survive, literally. But her problems were very real to her. One slip up, one drop of the mask and anyone could figure out that Lavinia Snow is not the daughter her father thinks she is, not even close.

Hello and welcome to my Hunger Games SYOC!

I wanted to write a story that focuses on the Capitol citizens, specifically those who presumably will one day rise to power. You can kind of consider this a next gen to TBOSBAS.

What I'm looking for, really, are OCs to explore whether they're good or bad, what made them this way, what motivates them, and how far are they willing to go to get what they want?

Yes, my OC Lavinia is attending the Academy, but this isn't necessarily going to be an Academy fiction (unless of course everyone submits characters that would go to the Academy). It can be anything really. I just wanted to leave it open so that everyone who wants a stake (aka character) in the story can have input in the direction the story goes.

P.S. would love if someone made a sibling for my OC, preferably older.

^^For reference, Lavinia is meant to be 15, but I am open to adjusting her age if it fits the needs of the story.

If you want to submit just PM me the general idea for your OC.

Please no spoilers for Sunrise On The Reaping - I am still reading it :)
