Roller Coaster Chaos and Regrets

The sun shone bright in the sky as the amusement park stretched out before the group like a chaotic wonderland, full of twisting roller coasters, colorful game stalls, and countless food vendors selling everything from sugary cotton candy to deep-fried delicacies. The air was thick with the scent of caramel popcorn and sizzling hot dogs, mixing with the excited chatter of children and the occasional scream from a ride. Bright neon banners hung high, advertising everything from haunted houses to water rides, promising an adventure-filled day. The sheer number of people moving around made it feel like a festival—exciting for some, dreadful for others.

And those dreading it?

Kai, Tala, and Mariam.

They had all been dragged into this mess against their will, and it showed on their faces.

Tyson stretched his arms wide, taking in the lively atmosphere with a dramatic inhale. "Ahhh, do you smell that?"

Daichi, standing beside him, grinned. "Victory?"

"No! The scent of fun! Pure, unfiltered fun!" Tyson declared, throwing an arm around Daichi's shoulders.

"It doesn't have to, Kai! You wouldn't understand because you were forced here," Tyson teased, earning himself a glare from the brooding teen before he turned his head away from Tyson.

"I still don't know why I'm here," Kai muttered, arms crossed as he surveyed the packed park with the same enthusiasm as someone being forced to work overtime.

Hilary smirked at him. "Because I bribed you with coffee."

"Which I already drank, so technically, I should be free to leave," he pointed out.

Hilary linked her arm with his before he could even think about making a run for it. "Nope. You're staying."

Kai sighed but didn't bother arguing further.

Tala, meanwhile, was glaring at Julia, who was pretending not to notice. "You lied to me."

"No, I didn't," Julia said innocently, looking everywhere but at him.

"You specifically said, 'It won't be crowded, Tala. You'll be fine, Tala.'" He gestured around dramatically. "What part of this is 'not crowded'?"

"Oh, look at that ride! So cool!" Julia chirped, pointing at a nearby attraction to avoid his glare.

Tala exhaled sharply, already regretting everything.

And then there was Mariam, who was standing stiffly beside Max, clearly unimpressed with everything around her. Max, however, was determined to change that.

"You have to admit, this is pretty cool," Max said, nudging her.

Mariam barely reacted. "I don't see the appeal."

"That's because you haven't gone on the rides yet," Max insisted, gesturing toward the towering roller coaster in the distance. "Just wait until you experience that."

Mariam gave it an unbothered glance. "Looks like a death trap."

Max sighed, rubbing the back of his head. "Okay, but what about the games? You love challenges, right?"

Mariam tapped her chin as if considering, then shrugged. "Maybe."

"I'll take it," Max said with a grin, satisfied with even the tiniest sign of interest.

Meanwhile, Tyson and Daichi were practically vibrating with excitement.

"DAICHI!" Tyson suddenly yelled, his voice booming over the noise of the crowd. "FIRST STOP, THE ROLLER COASTER!"

"LET'S GO!" Daichi yelled back, and before anyone could react, the two had already sprinted off toward the biggest ride in the park.

"Are you kidding me?!" Hilary groaned.

Emily threw her hands up. "We haven't even gotten tickets yet!"

"I'll handle it," Kenny sighed, already making his way toward the ticket counter, mumbling about how he should've seen this coming.

The rest of the group followed at a more reasonable pace, Kai dragging his feet like someone heading to their doom. Tala, still bitter about Julia's deception, wasn't speaking to her, but she just kept linking arms with him like nothing was wrong. Mariah and Ray were walking together, holding hands, with Mariah looking mildly excited while Ray simply observed everything with his usual calm demeanor.

"This actually looks kinda fun," Mariah admitted, glancing at a spinning ride.

Ray hummed. "Yeah, until we're stuck upside down for ten minutes."

Mariah elbowed him playfully. "Oh, don't be dramatic."

As they neared the roller coaster, they spotted Tyson and Daichi at the entrance, confidently trying to talk their way onto the ride.

"Listen, we'll buy the tickets after the ride, we swear!" Tyson pleaded.

"Yeah, we're good for it!" Daichi added, nodding eagerly.

The ride attendant, clearly unimpressed, crossed her arms. "That's not how this works. Step aside."

"But—"

"Step aside."

Just as Tyson was about to argue again, Hilary and Emily arrived and, without hesitation, grabbed the two troublemakers by their collars.

"NOPE," Hilary snapped, dragging Tyson backward.

Emily did the same with Daichi. "We are not getting kicked out before we even start!"

Tyson flailed slightly. "BUT—"

"NO BUTS!" Hilary and Emily said in unison.

Kenny, arriving just in time, handed over the freshly purchased tickets. "Here. Now can we please get on with this?"

Tyson and Daichi exchanged glances before immediately perking up. "FINALLY!"

And with that, the first disaster of the day had been narrowly avoided.

Tala sighed. "This is going to be a long day."

And just like that, the chaos had officially begun.

Kai already had a bad feeling about this.

Standing, more like being dragged by Tyson, in line for the massive roller coaster that twisted into death-defying loops, he kept his arms crossed, eyes narrowing at the overly excited idiot beside him.

"This is a terrible idea, I don't understand why Kenny would buy tickets for everyone except himself," he deadpanned, watching Tyson vibrate with excitement.

Tyson grinned like a kid who had just found an unlimited supply of candy. "Oh, come on, Kai! You have to admit this looks awesome!"

"I don't have to admit anything."

Next to Kai, Tala had his arms crossed too, his scowl matching Kai's. "I hate all of you," he muttered under his breath.

"Aw, don't be so grumpy!" Tyson said, throwing an arm around Tala's shoulder. "You'll thank me later!"

Tala slowly turned his icy lavender gaze on him. "I will throw you off this ride mid-loop."

Tyson immediately removed his arm.

Meanwhile, Max and Ray were actually looking forward to the ride.

"This is gonna be amazing," Max said, bouncing on his feet as he stared at the giant coaster. "Look at those twists!"

Ray, who was naturally calmer, still had a slight smirk on his face. "Should be fun."

Behind them, Daichi had his arms crossed, his face twisted into a scowl. "This is stupid."

Kenny adjusted his glasses. "You're just mad because you're too short to get on."

"That's HEIGHT DISCRIMINATION!" Daichi roared.

Emily sighed, patting him on the head. "It's literally for safety reasons, Daichi."

Daichi grumbled, kicking at the ground like a sulking child. "I would've totally survived it."

As they were being strapped into the roller coaster, Kai shot Tyson one last look. "If I die, I'm haunting you."

Tyson just gave him a thumbs-up.

A few seconds later, the ride took off.

The ascent was slow, agonizingly slow.

Tyson grinned. "Alright, here we go, boys! Time to—"

Tyson's excitement lasted a grand total of two seconds before sheer panic took over, as the drop happened.

And Tyson screamed.

"OH MY GOD, LET ME OFF! LET ME OFF!!"

Max was laughing his head off, throwing his hands in the air. "WUHOOOOO!!"

Ray had a small smirk, leaning into the turns like he was born for this.

Meanwhile, Kai and Tala…

Just sat there. Completely still. No reaction. No screaming. No flailing. Nothing.

They looked like they were sitting on a park bench, completely unaffected by the sheer chaos around them. Like the roller coaster wasn't whipping them through the air at breakneck speed.

Tyson, in the middle of his meltdown, turned to look at them. "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU TWO?!"

Kai sighed. "I told you this was a terrible idea."

Tala glanced at Tyson, his expression blank before smirking slightly. "You seem to be suffering. Good."

"I'M GONNA DIIIIEEE!!" Tyson howled as the coaster dipped into another loop.

Meanwhile, on a different ride…

Hilary, Julia, Mariam, and Mariah had opted for something a little less intense—a spinning coaster that had a few upside-down loops but nothing too wild.

Or so they thought.

The ride had barely started when, midway through an upside-down loop, it suddenly stopped.

Mid-air.

For five. Whole. Minutes.

Hilary immediately lost it. "WE'RE GONNA DIIIIE!"

Mariah, ever dramatic, clutched at her harness like she was in a soap opera. "OH MY GOD. RAY WAS RIGHT! THIS IS THE END. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS HOW I GO."

Julia, gritting her teeth, was furiously trying to see what went wrong. "If this ride doesn't start moving in the next five seconds, I'm personally hunting down whoever is responsible."

Mariam, on the other hand, let out a sigh. "…Figures."

Meanwhile, the boys (who had just survived their own death trap) wandered over to see the girls hanging upside down in mid-air.

Tyson blinked at the sight. "…Uh. Should we… do something?"

Kai took one long look at Hilary's flailing and dramatic screaming. "Or we could just let them scream for a bit."

Ray raised an eyebrow as Mariah continued to make her final words speech. "I was right about this thing happening."

Max, however, had other concerns. "Why is Mariam not reacting at all? Shouldn't she be somewhat concerned?"

Tala smirked, watching Julia flail in frustration. "Karma."

Julia immediately turned her glare on him. "YOU'RE ENJOYING THIS, AREN'T YOU?!"

"Immensely," Tala admitted, looking way too satisfied.

Emily and Kenny stood off to the side, still munching on popcorn.

Emily gestured at the scene in front of them. "So… should we be worried?"

Kenny adjusted his glasses. "Nah. They'll be fine."

Eventually, the ride resumed, and the girls were finally freed.

Hilary immediately collapsed onto Mariah. "That was the worst experience of my life."

Mariah clutched her dramatically. "We survived, Hil."

Kai stared at them, unimpressed. "...You were upside down for five minutes."

Hilary turned her glare on him. "IT FELT LIKE AN ETERNITY."

Ray sighed as Mariah sniffled dramatically. "Ray, I saw my life flash before my eyes."

Ray gave her a flat look. "I highly doubt that, but congratulations on surviving."

Mariam stretched her arms as if she'd just woken up from a nap. "Well, that was annoying."

Max frowned. "You're really not affected by anything, are you?"

Before they could process their trauma, Daichi, still bitter about missing out on the roller coaster, pointed at a nearby strength game.

"Mariam! Let's see who's stronger!"

Mariam, still completely indifferent, blinked. "Uhh sure."

Tyson, who was about to drag Max onto another ride, stopped mid-step. "Wait… strength contest?!"

Max's eyes widened. "Oh, we have to see this."

And just like that, another round of chaos began.

"If I can't ride the coaster, I'll prove I'm stronger than you!" Daichi declared.

Mariam blinked, unimpressed. "Sure."

Tyson, Max, Hilary, Julia, and Mariah immediately ran to watch, sensing another round of entertainment. The others followed, half out of curiosity, half because this group never stopped causing scenes.

The challenge was simple: they had to step on a rubber string and pull it as far up as possible. Daichi went first, yanking it up to 155 cm—which was, unfortunately, just about his own height. He grinned, smug.

"Top that, Mariam!"

Mariam stepped up, stretched her arms lazily, then grabbed the string and pulled—170 cm. 5 centimetres more than her own height.

Tyson's jaw dropped. Max let out a low whistle. Hilary and Mariah's eyes widened, and Julia clapped dramatically.

"Oh, wow," Ray said, looking genuinely impressed.

Kai and Tala exchanged a glance before nodding slightly, acknowledging her strength in their usual silent, cool way. Kenny adjusted his glasses and said, "Mathematically speaking, this proves Mariam is—"

"—stronger than Daichi," Emily finished, grinning.

Mariam, completely unfazed, stepped back while Daichi threw a tantrum. "NO FAIR! I DEMAND A REMATCH!"

Tyson rolled his eyes. "Oh, cut the drama, shortie."

That triggered another round of Tyson vs. Daichi bickering, until Hilary smacked both of them upside the head.

Then, out of nowhere, Mariah gasped. "GUYS! Haunted house!"

She pointed excitedly at a large, creepy-looking structure with fake cobwebs, flickering lanterns, and an eerie soundtrack playing in the background.

Julia's eyes sparkled. "We HAVE to go!" She immediately grabbed Tala's arm and started pulling him toward the entrance—but halfway there, she remembered she was still mad at him for smirking while she was stuck upside down earlier. She huffed and let go of his hand mid-stride.

Tala gave her a bewildered glance. "Unbelievable," he muttered, but kept walking beside her anyway.

The rest of the group followed, some excited, some deeply regretting their life choices.

Inside the Haunted House

The moment they entered, the dark corridors and eerie noises surrounded them.

Kai and Tala were unfazed. Completely, utterly unimpressed.

Tyson and Daichi, on the other hand, were losing their minds—except Daichi had switched targets. Instead of being scared himself, he had discovered the ultimate joy of scaring Tyson.

"BOO!" he suddenly shouted from behind, making Tyson shriek.

"DAICHI, I SWEAR TO—"

From somewhere behind, Max and Mariam were walking ahead when Max suddenly stepped on a floor panel that triggered a skeleton head rolling onto the floor.

Mariam didn't flinch. She just kicked it.

Max gasped. "Mariam, what if that was haunted?!"

She gave him a blank stare. "Then it should've haunted someone else."

Meanwhile, Kenny was regretting everything. He was walking with wobbly legs, looking around frantically. Emily sighed beside him.

"Kenny, it's really not that scary."

"THAT'S WHAT YOU THINK!" Kenny yelped, pointing at a fake severed hand lying on the floor. He screamed when it twitched slightly (thanks to a hidden mechanism), clinging onto Emily's arm.

She sighed. "Good grief."

On the other end of the haunted house, Mariah and Ray had somehow gotten separated from the group.

"Great," Ray muttered, looking around. "Now we're stuck in a cliché horror movie plot."

Mariah, slightly spooked but hiding it, nudged his arm. "You scared?"

Ray smirked. "Of course not."

Then, a mechanical ghost dropped from the ceiling with a loud shriek.

Mariah jumped, immediately grabbing onto Ray's arm. "OKAY, I MIGHT BE A LITTLE SCARED—"

Ray chuckled, wrapping an arm around her. "Don't worry, drama queen, I got you."

The haunted house experience suddenly wasn't so bad anymore.

Meanwhile, Hilary had latched onto Kai like a koala.

Kai sighed but didn't shake her off. Instead, he wrapped an arm around her protectively.

"You're fine, stop jumping at every noise."

"I can't help it!" she whined. "They keep popping out of nowhere!"

Kai just sighed again, accepting his fate.

Tala, on the other hand, was noticing something hilarious. Julia, who had been acting so brave, was suddenly gripping his arm tightly.

"Oh?" Tala smirked. "And here I thought you weren't scared."

Julia scowled at him. "Shut up, Tala."

He snickered, completely enjoying himself.

Eventually, the group made it to the exit—except Mariah and Ray were still missing.

Tyson groaned. "Ugh, they got lost?!"

"They'll find their way," Kai said, uninterested.

They did. A few minutes later, Ray and Mariah walked out, Mariah still clinging onto Ray.

Tyson raised an eyebrow. "Uh-huh, and what exactly happened in there?"

Ray shrugged. "Nothing."

Mariah shot him a look. "Liar."

Tyson smirked. "Suspicious."

Ray smirked back at Tyson.

"We should eat," Max announced, clutching his stomach dramatically. "Or I'll die."

"You just had popcorn," Mariam pointed out, unimpressed.

"That was before the haunted house! It doesn't count anymore!"

Tyson's eyes lit up at the mention of food. "FOOD COURT, LET'S GO!"

And just like that, their next destination was decided.

The food court was massive, packed with different stalls offering everything from ramen to burgers to kebabs. The second they stepped in, Tyson inhaled the smell and practically floated toward the nearest stall like a cartoon character.

Daichi followed, already scanning the menu. "I bet I can eat more than you, Tyson."

Tyson snorted. "Pfft, please, Daichi. I was born for this."

"Yeah?" Daichi smirked. "Prove it."

Tyson's eyes gleamed. "You're on."

Before anyone could stop them, they were already yelling orders at the food stall.

Kai and Tala, watching from the sidelines, exchanged a silent look of exhaustion.

"This is your fault," Tala muttered.

Kai scoffed. "How is this my fault?"

"You let them live."

Meanwhile, Max made the mistake of showing interest in the contest.

"Wait, so whoever eats the most wins?" he asked.

Tyson, already stacking plates, grinned. "You in, Maxie?"

Max hesitated. "I mean, I—"

Daichi smirked. "Oh, what's wrong, Max? Scared?"

That did it.

"I'm not scared!" Max declared. "I'm in."

"Oh my god," Hilary muttered, rubbing her temples.

Mariah and Julia, sensing premium content, immediately pulled out their phones.

"This is gonna be gold," Mariah whispered.

Julia nodded. "I'll get different angles."

Mariam, watching the chaos unfold, sighed. "I don't get it. Why are they like this?"

Ray, already used to this, just shrugged. "I stopped questioning it years ago."

Mariam groaned. "Ray, when are we going home?"

He blinked. "Uh… evening? I think? I don't actually know."

Mariam sighed again. "Damn. That's long."

Ray just patted her shoulder like a concerned parent.

Across the table, Emily and Kenny were sitting completely unbothered, sipping their drinks.

"This is going to end badly," Kenny said.

Emily nodded. "Give it five minutes."

And five minutes later, disaster struck.

Tyson and Daichi were shoving food into their mouths at alarming speeds, Max regretted everything, and the food stall worker looked like he was contemplating banning them mid-contest.

Tala, watching, shook his head. "This is a waste of oxygen."

Kai sighed. "And food."

Hilary, gripping her chopsticks so tightly they might snap, visibly twitched.

"This is so stupid," she muttered, her patience slipping.

Mariam looked completely unimpressed. "I could probably eat more than them. But I have self-respect."

Ray snorted. "Fair."

Mariah, still filming, giggled. "Look at Max's face."

Julia cackled. "He looks like he wants to cry."

And he did.

Max, halfway through a ridiculously large bowl of ramen, dropped his chopsticks and clutched his stomach.

"I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE."

Tyson barely spared him a glance. "Weak."

Daichi smirked. "One down."

But then—Tyson slowed down.

His chewing became sluggish. His face paled.

"Oh no," Kenny muttered.

Tyson, eyes wide, clutched his stomach. "Guys, I—"

And that's when Hilary snapped.

SMACK.

She whacked all three of them on the head so hard that even Kai and Tala winced.

"YOU MORONS."

Tyson groaned. "Ow…"

Max, still hunched over, whimpered, "Never again."

Daichi pouted. "Hey, I was still winning—"

The food stall worker cut him off.

"YOU'RE BANNED."

Daichi gasped. "WHAT?! WHY ME?!"

The worker pointed. "Because I said so. LEAVE."

Daichi threw a tantrum.

Tyson moaned dramatically, still clutching his stomach.

Hilary dragged him away by the ear.

Kai, watching, exhaled deeply. "I hate all of you."

Tala just sighed. "Next time, let's go somewhere without them."

Hilary, still dragging Tyson, shot him a look. "Take me with you."

Tyson groaned again. "Never again… I swear… I'll never do another eating contest—"

Daichi, still sulking, scoffed. "Yeah, right."

And Julia, still recording, grinned.

"Best day ever."

After the food court incident, Tyson finally recovered from his stomachache after taking some medicine from Kenny, who always had something prepared for moments like these. "You're a lifesaver, Kenny," Tyson groaned dramatically, clutching his stomach.

"Yeah, yeah. Just don't do that again," Kenny sighed, adjusting his glasses.

But of course, Tyson and Daichi had already moved on, eyes gleaming with excitement as they spotted the entrance to the water park area. "WATER PARK!" Daichi yelled, pointing at it like a child seeing candy for the first time.

"Oh, this is going to be fun," Julia smirked, already walking towards it, dragging Tala along. He rolled his eyes but let her pull him anyway.

Hilary perked up as well. "Let's go, Kai!"

Kai, who had absolutely no intention of getting into any pool, gave her a blank look. "No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes, you are going."

Before Kai could protest further, Hilary grabbed his wrist and yanked him along, making Tyson and Daichi snicker. "Damn, Kai, you've got no choice," Max laughed.

Kai just sighed, resigning himself to whatever chaos was about to unfold.

Once they changed into their pool attire, i.e. oversized shirts and shorts, the group decided to try one of the biggest water rides in the park—a multi-person raft slide that sent them spiraling down a long tunnel before splashing into the pool below.

Kai and Tala both attempted to sit out, but Hilary and Julia had other plans.

"Oh, no, you don't," Julia smirked, pulling Tala by the wrist.

"Let go," Tala deadpanned.

"Nope."

Kai shot a pleading glance at Tala, but Hilary was already pushing him forward. "Come on, don't be boring!"

"I'm not boring," Kai muttered, but it was useless. Before he knew it, he was seated on the raft with the rest of the group.

The ride started off fine, but then chaos struck. Tyson, Daichi, and Max were somehow the ones in the front, and when they hit the final drop, they were launched straight into the pool with a massive splash. The moment they surfaced, coughing and wiping their faces, Mariah, Julia, and Hilary BURST out laughing.

"Oh my God, I wish I recorded that," Julia gasped between fits of laughter.

Mariam, standing at the edge of the pool, crossed her arms, looking like she regretted all her life decisions. "I need a refund."

Kai emerged from the water, running a hand through his now-wet hair. The moment he saw his reflection in a nearby glass panel, he turned to Hilary with a glare. "This is your fault."

Hilary, still laughing, waved him off. "Oh, come on, you look fine."

"No, I do not."

"You look better, actually."

Kai narrowed his eyes, but she just smiled sweetly at him.

Meanwhile, Tala, deciding he was done with Julia being a menace, suddenly walked behind Julia, lifted her up by the waist and—without hesitation—THREW her into the nearby water park pool.

"TALA!" Julia shrieked before hitting the water with a loud splash.

Tala smirked and walked away with zero regrets as Julia surfaced, laughing despite herself. "Oh, it's on!" she shouted, already plotting revenge.

Ray and Mariah, on the other hand, were now having their own mini battle. Mariah had been using Ray as a shield to avoid getting splashed, peeking out from behind him every now and then.

Ray turned to her with a deadpan expression. "You can't be serious."

Mariah smiled innocently. "What? You're tall. You're useful."

Ray rolled his eyes before smirking and suddenly stepping aside, making Mariah yelp as she was hit with a giant splash.

"Ray!" she gasped, soaked.

He smirked, triumphant. "Revenge."

Mariah narrowed her eyes before lunging at him. "Oh, you're SO going in!" She pushed him, but Ray, being stronger, barely moved. Instead, he took her wrists and—with zero effort—flipped the situation so that she went crashing into the pool instead.

When she resurfaced, she was glaring at him. "You're being unfair."

Ray shrugged innocently. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Meanwhile, Kenny and Emily were in their own world, going down smaller water slides and enjoying themselves like normal people.

"It's nice to not be involved in their insanity for once," Emily commented as they sat on the edge of the pool, sipping their drinks.

Kenny nodded. "Yeah, let's just...stay right here."

Emily glanced over at Tyson and Daichi, who were now trying to push each other into the water, while Max attempted to escape before he got dragged into their nonsense. "Yeah. Definitely staying here."

It was only a matter of time before someone escalated things further.

The moment they left the water park, still damp and dripping onto the pavement, Tyson and Daichi immediately started another round of arguing.

"You literally shoved me into the water!" Tyson accused, pointing dramatically at Daichi.

Daichi, completely unbothered, shrugged. "You should've dodged faster."

Hilary sighed, squeezing water from the hem of her shirt. "Okay, enough! We're already wet, we're already tired, and I refuse to deal with another round of Tyson vs. Daichi."

"Agreed," Ray muttered, shaking water out of his hair like a dog.

"Can we at least do something that doesn't involve nearly drowning?" Mariah asked, arms crossed.

Tyson perked up. "How about—"

"We're banned from the food court," Max cut in immediately.

Tyson groaned. "Ugh, fine. Then let's go on the Ferris wheel!" He pointed dramatically toward the giant structure towering over the amusement park, its lights flashing against the evening sky.

Kai and Tala exchanged a look. "Pass," Kai said.

"Not happening," Tala added.

Julia and Hilary turned to each other. Then, without hesitation, each girl grabbed her respective idiot by the wrist and started dragging them forward.

"Oh, you will go on the Ferris Wheel with me," Hilary said firmly.

"You are not ditching this," Julia added, grinning.

Kai sighed but didn't resist too much, because he knew it would be in vain while Tala muttered something about revenge.

Eventually, they all paired off into the gondolas.

Inside one of the compartments, Hilary and Kai sat in awkward silence. The Ferris wheel creaked as it lifted them higher, the lights of the amusement park glowing below them.

Hilary glanced at Kai. "You still mad about earlier?"

Kai, still fixing his damp hair, gave her a look. "You think?"

Hilary giggled. "You looked like a drowned cat, I couldn't help it!"

"Hn." Kai rolled his eyes, but there was no real heat in them. He leaned back against the seat, arms crossed.

Hilary tilted her head. "Are you scared of heights or something?"

Kai scoffed. "Please."

Hilary smirked. "Then why are you sitting so stiff?"

Kai didn't dignify that with a response. Hilary just laughed and nudged him with her shoulder. "Relax, it's just a Ferris wheel. Not like you're being thrown into water again."

Kai exhaled through his nose, shaking his head. "You're lucky I tolerate you."

Hilary grinned. "I really am."

Meanwhile, in another gondola, Mariah leaned against Ray's shoulder, enjoying the view.

"This is nice," she murmured.

Ray hummed in agreement—until their peaceful moment was shattered by screaming from below.

"DAICHI, STOP MOVING THE GONDOLA!"

Daichi and Tyson were rocking their compartment like idiots, causing it to sway dangerously.

"You started it!" Daichi yelled back.

"You almost tipped us over!"

Mariah sighed. "Why do we even bring them?"

Ray shook his head. "Honestly? I have no idea."

Meanwhile, Julia and Tala? Yeah, they were in a full-blown argument.

"You drenched me!" Tala snapped.

"You threw me into the pool!" Julia shot back.

"That's beside the point!" Tala folded his arms, looking away.

Julia smirked. "Aw, is the big bad wolf sulking?"

Tala narrowed his eyes. "Say that again."

Julia leaned in, grinning. "Wolf boy."

The gondola jerked slightly, making them both pause. Tala sighed. "We're suspended in the air. Let's fight when we're on the ground."

Julia huffed. "Deal."

Surprisingly, Max and Mariam were the only ones actually enjoying their ride.

Mariam let out a content sigh. "Finally. A moment of peace."

Max smiled at her. "You actually sound relaxed."

Mariam gave him a side glance. "Don't ruin it."

Max chuckled as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "Got it, got it."

And Kenny and Emily? Completely unbothered.

Emily sighed happily, taking in the view. "This is really pretty."

Kenny adjusted his glasses. "Yeah, it's nice."

And that was it.

By the time the ride ended, they regrouped, Tyson and Daichi still bickering, Tala and Julia making snarky comments at each other, and Kai already walking ahead to avoid more nonsense with Hilary following him.

"Next time, I'm sitting with Kenny," Tala muttered, running a hand through his hair.

Julia smirked. "Oh, so you admit you'd rather be with him than me?"

Tala shot her a deadpan look. "I'd rather be anywhere but here."

"Oh, please," she scoffed, linking her arm through his. "You love me."

Tala sighed dramatically. "Unfortunately."

Meanwhile, Hilary jogged to catch up with Kai. "What's the rush, Mr. Businessman?"

Kai exhaled through his nose. "Trying to escape the disaster before something else happens."

Hilary grinned, nudging him. "You can't deny you had fun."

Kai gave her a look. "Define 'fun.'"

She just laughed, slipping her fingers into his hand. Kai hesitated, then subtly curled his own fingers around hers. No one needed to know.

They made their way toward the main plaza of the amusement park, where the sun was setting in a spectacular display of oranges and purples. The group finally seemed to settle, taking in the sight as the street lamps flickered on, casting a warm glow over the paths.

"I'll admit," Ray murmured, crossing his arms, "this was kind of a great way to end the day."

Mariah leaned against him. "You're saying that now because you got to throw me in the water multiple times."

Ray smirked. "That did help."

Mariah gasped dramatically and smacked his arm. "Rude!"

He just chuckled, while she huffed, but her fake annoyance was betrayed by the small smile tugging at her lips.

Tyson, stretching his arms over his head, grinned. "Alright, who's up for—"

"No," came the collective response.

Tyson pouted. "You don't even know what I was gonna say!"

"You were gonna suggest more food," Max pointed out.

"Or another ride," Mariam added.

"Or something that'll get us arrested," Kenny muttered under his breath.

Tyson scowled. "Wow. No faith in me."

"Nope," Daichi agreed, slinging an arm around his shoulder. "But don't worry, buddy. We'll be back next week to cause more chaos!"

Silence. Then a wave of horror spread across the group.

"Excuse me?" Hilary said flatly.

Daichi grinned. "Oh yeah! Tyson and I already made plans."

"You what?" Tala's eye twitched.

"Made. Plans." Tyson repeated, smug.

Kai pinched the bridge of his nose. "You two are banned from amusement parks."

"Try and stop us," Daichi challenged.

"I will," Kai said simply.

"Same," Tala added.

Hilary groaned. "Ugh, please don't let them drag us into another disaster."

Mariah sighed dramatically. "I just got dry."

Ray chuckled. "Guess you'll have to deal with them next week too."

"Over my dead body," Mariam muttered, and Max laughed beside her.

Speaking of Max, he had somehow ended up winning a massive stuffed bear at one of the carnival booths, grinning as he carried it. Mariam, however, crossed her arms. "I am not carrying that."

Max looked at her, confused. "But I won it for you?"

She raised an eyebrow. "Did I ask for a giant plushie?"

Max gave her puppy eyes. "But it's cute."

Mariam exhaled, muttering something about 'ridiculous boyfriend logic,' but she didn't protest when Max happily carried it on his own.

As the group wandered toward the park exit, fireworks began bursting in the sky. The colors reflected in their eyes as they slowed their steps, watching in awe.

"This," Emily said softly, "is actually pretty perfect."

Kenny nodded beside her. "Yeah. I could get used to this."

"They're really pretty," Hilary murmured, her fingers still lightly curled with Kai's.

Kai glanced at her, then up at the sky. "Yeah," he said, but he wasn't talking about the fireworks.

Mariah, still clinging to Ray's arm, sighed. "Okay, I'll admit, this was kind of worth the chaos."

Ray smirked. "Told you."

Tala and Julia were still bickering, but anyone could see the way their hands were intertwined.

"You started the argument," Tala muttered.

"Oh, please," Julia shot back. "You always have to get the last word in."

Tala opened his mouth, then stopped, realizing she was right. "Damn it."

Julia grinned. "That's what I thought."

Then, just as they were about to leave, Daichi—because of course it was Daichi—decided to mess with one of the caution signs near the park entrance. One accidental press of a button later, and suddenly, a loud alarm blared through the area.

All heads snapped toward him.

Daichi blinked. "Uh."

"Daichi," Hilary whispered, horrified.

"What did you do?" Max yelped.

"I dunno!" Daichi panicked. "I just pressed it to see what would happen—"

"Oh my God," Tala groaned, dragging a hand down his face. "Why."

Park security was already moving toward them, and without missing a beat, Kai grabbed Hilary's hand, Ray pulled Mariah along, and Max made sure Mariam was right beside him.

Tyson and Daichi? They bolted.

"RUN!" Tyson yelled.

"Oh, so now you wanna run?!" Mariah shrieked as Ray pulled her along.

"I can't believe I let you people drag me here," Tala muttered as he and Julia took off, laughing even as they sprinted.

Kenny and Emily, completely unbothered, simply walked away in the opposite direction like nothing had happened.

By the time they finally escaped the park, catching their breath outside the gates, everyone glared at Daichi, who just grinned sheepishly.

"Okay, maybe I shouldn't have pressed the button."

Hilary threw her hands up. "You THINK?!"

"On that note," Kai muttered, adjusting his jacket, "never again."

"Agreed," Tala grumbled.

"Oh, come on, it wasn't that bad!" Tyson said, grinning.

"I think it was awesome," Daichi added.

Hilary glared. "Next week, we are not coming with you."

Tyson just smirked. "We'll see about that."

As the group finally started dispersing for the night, laughter still echoing between them, there was one undeniable fact—

This had been one of their most chaotic, ridiculous, and strangely perfect days ever.
