Chapter 10: Beast forms

It had been fifteen days since Beerus and Whis visited Earth and demanded goku to become the next God of Destruction. After much thought, Goku had reluctantly agreed.

Wanting to push himself beyond his limits, Goku approached Kami with a request. "Can you remove the time limitations on the Hyperbolic Time Chamber?" he asked.

Kami hesitated at first, but after some consideration, he agreed and lifted the restrictions. With the chamber now accessible for longer durations, Goku decided to begin his training.

"I'll be in there for ten days," Goku told his family and friends.
Gohan immediately offered to join. "Then let me train with you."

Goku smiled, appreciating his son's resolve. "Alright. But I'm staying in for ten days. Are you sure you're ready for that?"

Gohan shook his head. "I'll train for just three days. That should be enough for now."
He wasn't surprised by his father's stamina—Goku's immortality allowed him to train endlessly without physical decline. But Gohan was still determined to push himself as far as he could.

Inside the time chamber, the air was thick and the gravity harsh. Their training was brutal. Father and son pushed each other harder than ever before, igniting clashes that cracked the very floor beneath them.

On the second day, the intensity reached a dangerous level.

During one particularly savage exchange, Gohan collapsed, blood dripping from his mouth, his body trembling. He had pushed past his limits—and dangerously close to death.

Goku immediately rushed to his side, panic in his voice. "Gohan! What were you thinking?! Do you have any idea what you just did?! That was suicide!"

Gohan coughed, forcing himself to sit up despite the pain. "I know, Dad… but this is the only way to grow stronger. If we want to face what's coming, I can't hold back anymore."

Goku clenched his fists, his face shadowed with worry. "I don't approve of this. You could have died. What would I tell your mom? What would I tell Videl? That I killed my own son during training?"

He turned away for a moment, the guilt eating at him. "That's exactly why I agreed to become a destroyer. So none of you have to go through this. So I can be strong enough to protect you—without losing anyone else."

Gohan lowered his head. The weight of his father's words struck deep.

"I'm sorry, Dad," he said quietly. "But I won't stop either. I want to protect this world too… just like you."

Goku looked back at his son, seeing not just the boy he raised—but a warrior who had inherited his resolve.

"Alright," Goku said, placing a hand on Gohan's shoulder. "Then we'll both push forward. But next time… don't scare me like that."

They stood in silence, two Saiyans in a timeless void—father and son, warrior and protector—united by purpose, forged through pain.

After weeks of relentless training, Goku and Gohan pushed themselves beyond anything they'd ever experienced. Each strike, each movement, tore deeper into their limits—until finally, something awakened.

A blinding surge of energy exploded around them.

Gohan's hair grew longer, wild and grey, his eyes glowing red with black pupils. A primal aura surrounded him, crackling with uncontrollable power.

Goku, on the other hand, looked different—his hair stayed the same shape, but now it shimmered with silver streaks woven with gold, radiating calm intensity.

Both stood there, breathless, stunned by the transformation.

Gohan clenched his fists, eyes wide.

"Whoa… Dad… this power—it's on a whole other level."
He looked at his reflection in a nearby broken piece of the chamber's floor.
"Is this another Super Saiyan form? But… our hair is different."

Goku looked down at his own hands, flexing his fingers as golden sparks danced around his silver aura.

"I don't think this is Super Saiyan, Gohan. Remember—we're using our Mystic forms. This… this feels like the next step in that evolution."

Gohan paused, letting the idea settle in. He nodded slowly.

"Yeah… I think you're right, Dad."

Their power slowly settled, but the energy in the air still hummed like a storm waiting to be unleashed.

Soon, Gohan's time in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber came to an end.

"Well, Dad," he said, stepping toward the exit, "I think I'll stay a bit longer. Six more months. I want to master this new form."

Goku smiled, proud.

"Alright, Gohan. Make it count."

Six months later, Gohan stood at the edge of the chamber, calm and composed. The wild aura from before now flowed like a river around him—refined, focused, and deadly.

He looked back one last time, a quiet fire in his red eyes.

"This power… I'll protect everyone with it. I'll make sure of it."

He stepped out—Beast form mastered.

Goku continued his intense training inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Having mastered control over his Mystic power, he took it a step further—using Tien's Multi-Form technique to create a clone of himself. The clone stood in Beast Form, its aura raging with unrestrained fury, while Goku remained in his base form, using the fight to sharpen both his instincts and control.

Meanwhile, back on Earth…

A loud gust of wind swept through Capsule Corp as Gohan landed softly on the front lawn. Bulma and Videl, who were sitting in the garden, rushed over the moment they sensed his arrival—but froze in shock when they saw him.

Gohan's hair was long and wild, flowing down his back. A full beard and mustache adorned his face. He looked older, his eyes sharper, and his posture filled with confidence. But most of all—it was his ki that had changed.

It was deeper. Heavier. Like a tidal wave hidden behind calm waters.

"Gohan... is that really you?" Bulma asked, stunned.

"Of course, Mom. Why are you asking?"

Without a word, Bulma handed him a mirror.

Gohan blinked, staring at his reflection.

"Whoa… I've got a beard and a mustache!"

Bulma crossed her arms with a small smirk.

"You also look some older."

Gohan laughed.

"Well, three and a half years passed in there. It's only natural."

Videl stepped forward slowly, eyes locked on his aura.

"Gohan... your ki... it's nothing like before. It feels... enormous."

Gohan smiled and nodded.

"Yeah. Me and Dad pushed ourselves harder than ever. And like Dad always said—I've always had the potential to surpass him. I think... I finally did and we unlocked new forms."

Bulma's eyes widened.

"Wait—you said you unlocked new forms?"

Gohan nodded.

"Yeah. We went beyond Mystic. I call my form Beast. As for Dad… well, you'll have to see it for yourself."

Meanwhile, inside the Time Chamber, Goku was drenched in sweat, facing off against his Beast Form clone. The sheer pressure was overwhelming—but Goku was smiling.

"Alright," he muttered, dodging a wild strike, "Guess it's time I stop holding back too."

Soon, the ten days passed.

The door to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber opened, and Goku stepped out—his aura calm, but his heart pounding. For everyone else, it had only been ten days since they last saw him.

But for Goku… it had been ten years.

Without wasting a second, he flew straight to Capsule Corp.

The moment he landed, Bulma, Gohan, Videl, Trunks, Goten, and Bulla ran outside to greet him.

Goku's eyes welled up as he saw their familiar faces. Emotions surged in him, and he couldn't hold back—he pulled Bulma into a tight hug first, followed by Gohan and Videl, then the kids.

"Dad? You okay?" Gohan asked, confused but concerned by the intensity in Goku's embrace.

Goku pulled back slightly, his voice low but trembling with emotion.

"It's been ten years since I saw you all…"

Everyone paused. They knew how the Time Chamber worked—but hearing Goku say it like that made it real.

Bulma placed a gentle hand on his shoulder, noticing the distant look in his eyes.

"Goku… what happened in there?"

Goku took a breath.

"I trained… harder than I ever have but I was alone, For six and a half years, I was completely alone. I almost gave up a few times. I missed you all so much."

Gohan stepped closer.

"Dad, how did you manage that long by yourself?"

Goku gave a small smile.

"It was tough. Some days, I wanted to quit. But I remembered why I was doing this. I couldn't let you all down. And well… immortality might seem like a curse, but I thought—why not use it for something good?"

He chuckled softly.

"I used Tien's Multi-Form Technique to create clones to train with. Sometimes, I'd even talk with them. Sounds crazy, right? But it helped me stay sane."

Gohan looked at his father with deep respect. He could feel the toll those years had taken—not just physically, but mentally.

"You're stronger than any of us can imagine, Dad," Gohan said quietly.
"Not just in power… but in heart."

Goku gave a humble grin.

"Let's just hope it was worth it."

For the next few months, Goku chose to stay home. After spending ten years alone in the Time Chamber, he didn't want to be away from his family—not even for a day. He knew that Whis could return any moment to take him away for Destroyer training, so every second with his loved ones felt precious.

During this time, he and Gohan trained regularly, often sparring in their new forms. It wasn't about pushing to extremes anymore, but about mastery and control—a calm kind of growth they both enjoyed.

Trunks joined them occasionally, trying to keep up, determined to grow stronger himself.

Goten, wide-eyed and eager, pleaded to train with them too.

"Please, Mom! I wanna fight with Dad and Gohan too!"

But Bulma shook her head firmly, arms crossed.

"You can train when you're seven. No earlier! I don't want you getting caught up in crazy Saiyan training at your age."

Goten pouted but obeyed, though he still watched his father and brother from the sidelines, mimicking their moves with a stick in the backyard when no one was looking.

Goku would smile warmly whenever he caught his youngest son doing it.

"Just like me when I was a kid…" he'd think to himself.

Even in these peaceful months, Goku could feel it—that quiet before the storm. But for now, he chose to live in the moment… because he knew that soon, everything would change.

One peaceful afternoon, while the family was gathered around the table enjoying a meal, Whis arrived, floating down with his usual grace.

Bulma, ever the gracious host, immediately invited him to join.

Whis took a bite of a sizzling dish and closed his eyes in delight. "My, my… I didn't know Earth's cuisine was this divine!"

Bulma raised an eyebrow and smirked.

"You should've tried it the first time you came. was too busy babysitting Lord Beerus."

Whis chuckled, setting down his utensils.

"Well, Lord Beerus was in quite a hurry. You see, forty years ago, he had a premonition about his successor. It's been weighing on his mind ever since, so he's been rather... eager."

He turned toward Goku and Gohan, eyes twinkling.

"And speaking of successorship… Goku, your power has increased impressively. But I can tell—you're hiding something."

Both Goku and Gohan blinked in surprise.

"W-What? How did you know?" Gohan asked.

Whis smiled serenely.

"We deities can sense energy in ways mortals cannot. That new form you've achieved… I'd say you now possess power that rivals about 5% of Lord Beerus."

Goku's jaw dropped. "Only 5%?! Even after all this training?"

"Indeed," Whis nodded. "But remember, Lord Beerus has millions of years of experience—and he is a God of Destruction. Still… he sees potential in you to surpass him someday."

Goku's eyes widened."Really?!"

Just then, Gohan stood up. "If it's alright… I'd like to be considered instead of my dad."

Everyone froze and turned toward him—except Whis, who simply raised an eyebrow in amusement.

"What?" Bulma gasped. "Gohan?!"

"You see," Gohan said calmly, "Dad's always told me I had the potential to surpass him. I believe him."

Goku looked at his son, concerned. "But Gohan… why? Why now?"

Gohan met his father's eyes.

"Dad, you've done so much for all of us. You've been protecting Earth nonstop for years. You've never had peace, not really. I thought… maybe it's my turn to carry some of that burden. You deserve to rest."

Goku shook his head, voice firm but kind.

"No, Gohan. Listen to me—I don't need rest. I can go without sleep, without breaks. And besides, you've got Videl to think about. You made her a promise. And I made a promise to Chi-Chi—that I'd always protect you."

Gohan looked down, his hands trembling slightly as he clenched them at his sides. Tears welled in his eyes, but he held them back.

"Thanks, Dad. For everything. I just… I'm not a kid anymore."

Goku smiled, his eyes gentle and proud.

"I know… But you'll always be my little Gohan."

As the lunch was over whis was ready to take goku and he had some food packed.

Before leaving, Goku gave everyone a warm look and said, "Alright, take care, everyone. If there's ever a problem, Gohan, raise your ki. I'll know something's wrong right away."

With a gentle hum of divine energy, a pillar of light surrounded him and Whis. In the next instant, they vanished from Earth, leaving the table and family behind.

After a moment that felt like no time at all, Goku found himself on Beerus' planet. The sky above was painted in hues of violet and gold, serene and endless. He noticed Beerus seated on a worn tree stump, gazing calmly into the sky as if lost in thought. The God of Destruction turned his head slightly as the two arrived.

"What took you so long, Whis?" Beerus asked, his voice as nonchalant as ever but with a faint edge of irritation.

Whis, ever composed, gave a small smile. "We were having lunch, my Lord. Earth's food is quite the delicacy, as you know."

Beerus squinted, his tail twitching. "You're telling me you ate... without me?"

Whis chuckled and raised his staff. "Relax, I brought some."

Beerus seemed mildly satisfied and turned his gaze toward Goku. "So, Saiyan... looks like you've improved a lot these past few months."

Goku nodded with a confident grin. "Yeah. I trained for ten years."

Beerus blinked. "But only a few months have passed since we last met."

Goku explained, "Earth has a place called the Time Chamber. One day outside is a whole year inside. I spent ten years training in there."

Beerus leaned forward slightly, intrigued. "Fascinating. I didn't expect Earth to have something like that." His eyes narrowed as he focused on Goku's aura. "And I can sense it—there's a new power in you."

Goku clenched his fist, feeling the energy flicker through his veins. "Yeah. I unlocked a new form. Whis said I can match around five percent of your power now."

Beerus let out a short laugh, clearly impressed. "You're something else. Without any divine training, you've come to match five percent of me." He leaned back, tail swaying lazily. "I think I made the right decision choosing you."

"Shall we begin my training?" Goku asked eagerly, eyes gleaming with excitement.

Beerus glanced at him, then casually turned to Whis. "Whis, train him."

Goku blinked in surprise. "Wait—didn't you say you were going to train me?"

Beerus smirked. "Of course. But only once you've grasped the basics—god ki, divine awareness, control. If you reach the level I have in mind, then I'll personally train you."

Understanding the challenge in Beerus' words, Goku nodded. "Alright. Let's do this."

And so, for the next few months, Goku underwent Whis' rigorous training—far more intense than anything he'd done with Gohan. Each day pushed his limits further than he thought possible.

One morning, Whis handed Goku a dense, glowing metal block. "Today's task is simple," he said, his tone calm but serious. "walk while carrying this."

Goku looked at the block, then at the landscape ahead. "That's it?"

Whis raised a finger. "Ah, one more thing. The land behind you will vanish as you move. So if you slow down... well, let's just say you'll fall into nothingness."

Goku's eyes widened, but a grin quickly replaced his shock. "Got it."

Without hesitation, he took off, muscles straining against the impossible weight, each step keeping him just ahead of the disappearing ground. Whis watched silently, a small smile on his face.

Alongside his grueling training, Goku was also assigned several chores on Beerus' planet. Whis insisted it was all part of the routine. Each morning, Goku trimmed the strange, glowing flora in the divine gardens, watered bizarre plants that hummed when touched, and cleaned around the temple. He even had to change Beerus' sheets regularly—something he grumbled about, but still did with a smile.

Weeks turned into months, and slowly, Goku began to sense a change.

"Hey, Whis," Goku said one day, pausing during his meditation. "I think my base form got stronger."

Whis, sipping tea nearby, gave a small nod. "Naturally. God ki amplifies your abilities on every level. It sharpens your instincts, strengthens your body, and enhances your spiritual presence. You're progressing well."

Then, during a particularly intense training session, something within Goku awakened. His aura shifted—calm and fiery all at once. His hair turned crimson, his build leaner, his energy more focused. He looked younger, lighter—more divine.

Goku blinked, holding his arms out to examine himself. "Whoa... I think this is it. A new form. My power feels... pure." He smiled, then clenched his fists. "I'll call it... Super Saiyan God."

Whis studied him with interest. "Fascinating. You've successfully accessed god ki on your own. And from the looks of it, you're blending it with your Mystic state."

"Yeah," Goku replied. "The Old Kai once told me that Mystic unlocks my full potential. So if I ever achieved a new transformation, that state would help me access and control it better."

Whis raised an eyebrow. "Old Kai... you mean the one who was sealed in the Z Sword?"

Goku nodded. "Yeah. After we defeated Buu, Supreme Kai offered to train Gohan and me. He showed us the Z Sword—it was heavy, but training with it really helped. Though... we kinda broke it by accident."

Whis chuckled. "And thus, the Old Kai was released. How very... Saiyan of you."

Goku grinned sheepishly. "Hey, at least it worked out."

One day, while training on Beerus' planet, Goku suddenly paused. He felt it—a massive surge in Gohan's ki.

He turned to Whis. "Whis... something's up. Gohan's ki is spiking. It feels serious."

Whis calmly glanced into his staff, the orb showing Earth. "There's no danger," he said with a faint smile. "Looks like Gohan wants to see you. Something important, perhaps."

"Can I go?" Goku asked eagerly.

Whis gave a nod.

"Wait, I can teleport Kai Kai!"

As he vanished in a flash of light, Whis chuckled. "So, he learned Instantaneous Movement after all."

Back on Earth, Goku reappeared just in time to see Gohan running toward him.

"Dad!" Gohan called out, breathless. "Videl's about to deliver the baby!"

"Really?!" Goku lit up with excitement. "Wow, it's been a while since I've been back!"

Gohan smiled. "Dad, you've only been gone for six months."

"Six months?" Goku blinked. "It felt like years. Whis's training really works—what took me ten years before, I managed in six months."

Whis, having just arrived behind him, gave a knowing smile. "Of course. I was the one who trained Lord Beerus, after all."

Goku turned, wide-eyed. "Really?!"

Whis simply nodded.

They all headed toward the house. Outside the room where Videl was in labor, Trunks, Goten, and Bulla waited anxiously.

The moment the kids saw Goku, they rushed toward him.

"dad!" Goten shouted, hugging him tight. Trunks and Bulla joined in, and Goku smiled warmly, hugging them back. "It's good to see you all again."

"Gohan, how long will it take?" Goten asked, peeking toward the door.

"I don't know," Gohan replied, pacing slightly. "It could happen any minute now."

Half an hour later, the door opened. A doctor stepped out, followed by Bulma. She beamed when she saw Goku and gave him a quick hug.

"Mom, what happened?" Gohan asked anxiously.

Bulma smiled brightly. "Congratulations, Gohan. You have a baby girl."

Gohan's face lit up. "Thank you, Mom." Without wasting a second, he rushed inside to see Videl and meet his daughter for the first time.

After Goku and the others entered the room, Videl looked up from the bed and smiled softly. "Hi, Goku."

"Hey, Videl," Goku greeted warmly.

Everyone's eyes shifted to the small bundle in Gohan's arms. Carefully, Gohan stepped forward and handed the baby to Goku.

Goku cradled her gently, his eyes wide with wonder as he looked down at the tiny face. His usual cheerful expression softened into something far more tender. "She's beautiful... What's her name?"

"Pan," Gohan replied proudly.

"Hey there, little Pan," Goku whispered with a big grin. "I'm your grandpa."

He chuckled to himself, eyes still on the baby. "Man... I'm really a grandpa now. Feels like just yesterday when Grandpa Gohan found me in the woods... then I met Bulma, and all those adventures started."

Bulma, standing nearby, smiled fondly. "It's been over thirty years since we first met, Goku."

Goku blinked. "Really? That means... you're really old now, huh?"

Bulma's smile dropped. "Thanks, Goku. Not all of us are blessed with an immortal body like you!"

Goku laughed, rubbing the back of his head. "Hehe... sorry, I didn't mean it like that."

Then he turned to Whis. "Hey, Whis, do you mind if I stay here for a few months? I promise I won't slack off on training."

Whis nodded, smiling. "Of course. Just be sure to keep your promise."

"Thanks, Whis!"

That evening, the family held a massive feast to celebrate Pan's birth. Laughter filled the air, and everyone enjoyed the joyful occasion. Before returning to Beerus' planet, Whis made sure to pack a large amount of Earth's finest food.

As the stars began to twinkle in the sky, Trunks looked up at Goku. "Dad... just how powerful did you get this time?"

Goku grinned. "A lot stronger. I even unlocked a new transformation."

"Really? What is it?" Goten asked, eyes lighting up.

"Super Saiyan God," Goku replied proudly.

"Super Saiyan... God?!" they all echoed in surprise.

"Yep," Goku said, nodding. "It's thanks to God Ki. That training with Whis really paid off."

"Dad, can you show us now?" Trunks asked, his voice full of excitement.

"Yeah, Dad!" Goten chimed in eagerly.

Goku chuckled, rubbing his head. "Alright, alright… watch this."

He took a step forward, his expression calming as he focused. In an instant, flames of divine energy surged around him. His body was cloaked in a fiery red aura, his spiky hair turning crimson, and his eyes glowing red with dark pupils. His frame appeared leaner, and his face seemed younger, almost as if time itself had turned back.

Bulma blinked in disbelief. "You already looked young, but now you look like you're in your twenties again."

Goku glanced down at his hands, flexing them. "Yeah… I didn't expect this form to make me look younger. Weird, huh?"

For the next few months, Goku remained on Earth as promised. He didn't slack off—instead, he continued to hone his control over God Ki. His senses sharpened to the point where he could now feel Beerus' energy even from across the galaxy. Though his Beast Form still remained stronger in raw power, the addition of God Ki elevated it to a whole new level.

During this time, he occasionally sparred with Gohan, who chose to stay by Videl and Pan's side. Their training sessions were intense but filled with father-son camaraderie, and Goku could see Gohan's potential steadily rising.

Six months passed in the blink of an eye.

One quiet morning, Goku stood on a cliff overlooking the forest near his home, sensing the distant energy of Beerus. He exhaled calmly, ready to return to his training. As he turned to leave, Gohan stepped forward.

"I'm coming with you," Gohan said.

Goku raised a brow. "Are you sure? You'd be leaving Videl and Pan behind…"

"I already talked to her," Gohan replied. "I told her I need to get stronger—strong enough to help when it really counts. She understood."

A proud smile formed on Goku's face. "Alright then."

Without another word, Goku with a quiet, focused breath, whispered, "Kai Kai."

In an instant, father and son vanished from Earth, reappearing in a shimmer of light on Beerus' planet—ready for the next stage of their journey.
