Chapter Eleven: The Purple Dragon
Toothless felt as if the world had collapsed on top of him, as if he had fallen into a
nightmare that he couldn't awake from. But this was no nightmare, or at least,
Toothless wasn't asleep. Standing in front of Toothless stood the stonified husk of his
wife, staring him down with two glowing purple eyes, which lacked any of the
emotion or spunk she once had. The only thing that even resembled who she once
was was the shape of her figure, which instead of being covered in white as snow
scales were now drenched in a coarse greyish stone. The pure horror in the Night
Fury's eyes resulted in a sinisterly satisfied cackle from the gargoyle projecting
Kandikis' consciousness, who placed his talons to his chin in an act of false
sympathy. "Don't tell me you aren't happy to see your wife, Alpha," he exclaimed.
Toothless' eyes only turned towards Kandikis for a second before returning to the
statue of the Light Fury. "What…what did you do to her?" Toothless managed to
usher out of his mouth. In response, his mate stepped forward. "I made her better
than you could possibly imagine." Toothless eyes widened as shivers ran down his
spine. The voice that left his wife's mouth was not hers, but a distorted combination
of both the Light Fury and Kandikis. "Let me show you."
The statue then lunged at Toothless, causing Toothless to react and jump to the side.
He was quick, yet his mate was faster, managing to spin around and claw at
Toothless' ribcage, causing drops of blood to fall on the ground. Toothless roared in
pain before Light Fury spun around and whacked him in the face with her tail,
Causing the Night Fury to fall to the ground. Before the statue could strike the Night
Fury, Toothless fired a plasma blast at her, intentionally missing so that his mate
would jerk to the side, allowing him to spring up from underneath her in the air.
Putting distance in the air between him and Light Fury, Toothless turned and faced
the statue of his partner. "Isn't she marvelous?" Kandikis' distorted voice remarked
from her mouth. "She might be the most agile warrior in my army!" The statue then
made a dash for a dried up waterfall behind the Night Fury, leaping into the air on top
of the waterfall's peak. Just as Toothless could turn around, a ball of purple energy
suddenly manifested in the Light Fury's stone mouth, before it shot in the Fury's
direction. Toothless only just managed to block the blast with his wing, yet the force
sent him plummeting into the ground below, sending a pile of dust flying around him.
As the gargoyle stalked forwards, Toothless struggled to get up, coughing from the
dirt in the air. "Ugh…Wha-what was that?" Toothless muttered to himself, trying to
figure out what his mate had just hit him with. It didn't feel like a plasma blast, and
furthermore, Toothless thought the gargoyles didn't have any powers. But as
Toothless emerged from the crater and stretched his wings for battle, he felt his
impacted wing stiffen a little, and glancing over, he saw that a patch of his scales had
turned to stone. "That's a new power I've been working on," Kandikis' voice claimed
before the Light Fury's talons collided with Toothless' face. As he staggered back,
Kandikis grinned using the Light Fury's mouth. "You know what the best part of this
is, Alpha?" The Light Fury then stretched her wings out as more gargoyles emerged
behind. "Not only is she far stronger than before, but she no longer poses the
weaknesses you or your 'friends' do". Before Toothless could respond, a fist of talons
collided with his jaw, sending him staggering back. "No more emotions. No more
morals. No memories of her past or family to tie her down." Another fist caused
Toothless to stagger in the opposite direction, before he collapsed to the ground,
panting and coughing up blood. Satisfied with the Fury's beating, Kandikis walked
the Light Fury's body over to Toothless, bending down, and stared directly into
Toothless' eyes as he raised his head. "That's why you will lose," Kandikis sneered,
as Toothless stared back into his glowing purple eyes. "Because you fight to maintain
things that cannot last forever. Your past and your bonds are what hold you back, but
if you were to erase them, you could reach your full potential, like me."
As Toothless pulled himself to his feet, he chuckled, gaining a confused frown from
Kandikis. "You know, there's something about you that I haven't seen in any dragon
from my realm." Kandikis glared at the Night Fury, with only a fraction of interest.
"What is it?" he demanded, while in the process, failing to notice Toothless slipping
his good wing underneath the Light Fury's legs.
"Easy," Toothless expressed before raising his voice. "You don't shut up!" Before
Kandikis could react Toothless suddenly shot up, lifting his wing and Kandikinis into
the air. Without wasting a second, Toothless rammed his head against the Light
Fury's statue, causing it and Kandikis' consciousness to fly into the waterfall,
smashing it to pieces. Despite hearing Kandikis' voice screech, Toothless couldn't
help but feel bad for his fallen mate. "Sorry Hun.
Pulling Toothless back to the situation, the other two gargoyles leapt at the Night
Fury, causing him to leap out of the way and for the two to slam into each other.
Toothless tried lifting himself into the air, but the stone part of his wing was too stiff to
move, making it impossible to lift off. Realising the disadvantage he now had, he
knew he had to find the others and get out of here.
As the Night Fury ran back towards the spot the three had been separated, he
narrowly missed a gargoyle being thrown out of a cloud of dust, where Charizard
emerged, using his tail to strangle another trooper. As Charizard slammed the
gargoyle against the ground, three more emerged behind him, and another two
dropped from above. All five dogpiled on top of Charizard, before the fire dragon
burst into flames, sending three flying in all directions. "Charizard!" Toothless called,
getting the dragon's attention. "We can't take these guys. We're outnumbered!"
Charizard growled in response, as he swung another gargoyles off his back. "I am
NOT retreating! Not until we find the purple dragon!" Gobsmacked, Toothless roared
in frustration. "Look around Charizard! There's no one in this abandoned city except
us and those creatures!" Toothless pointed towards the gargolye that fell off
Charizard's back, before he blasted it with the full force of his firebreath. As the
gargoyle scurried away, Charizard looked around and saw multiple gargoyles
running towards them, as well as the Drunn dome remaining above them. Charizard
looked around a bit longer, before looking back at Toothless' desperate look, and
growling. "Where's Sisu?" he demanded. "We have to find her first!" Despite not
receiving a definitive answer, Toothless nodded, and ran towards the spot they had
left her, with Charizard following behind.
As the two battled their way through Gargoyles, they eventually reached a giant pool
filled with water, yet there was no gargoyles, and furthermore, no Sisu. As Toothless'
mind began to panic, the pool before them suddenly began to vibrate, before a
massive whirlpool suddenly manifested, and dozens of gargoyles were sent flying
out through the dome. The whirlpool continued for a moment, with patches of ground
even appearing, before it began to dissipate, as Sisu lunged out of the water and
landed on the ground before the two. She had her teeth bared, but upon realizing
who she was standing before, she easened up and gave a sympathetic look. "Oh, it's
you guys. Sorry, I thought you were…" A sudden roar caught the three's attention, as
they noticed the hordes of gargoyles, led by the Light Fury, headed their way. Seeing
the mob, Sisu turned towards Toothless. "Ummmm, I'm guessing now's a good time
to leave, right?" Toothless shook his head. "Charizard doesn't want to leave until
we've found this realm's guardian." Sisu gave him a look that asked if he was joking,
yet unfortunately he wasn't.
As the hostels got closer, the three began to run, much to Charizard's displeasure.
"Why aren't we fighting?" Charizard yelled in annoyance. "We should fight the
dragons with honour and without fear, like true Titans wings!" Not taking Charizard's
business, he turned towards Charizard. "Well if you want to take on hundreds of
almost invincible warriors with nothing but your fire, be my guest!" As Charizard
snorted in response, Sisu spoke up. "Shouldn't we try and find an escape? I mean,
surely there must be a hidden cavern or tunnel we could use that the Drunn hasn't
blocked?" Charizard shook his head. "The dome's too small. Any cave systems
outlined on the map are outside of the dome." As an arrow flew past Toothless' face,
startling the three, Toothless raised his wing to reveal the stonified part. "Plus, we
wouldn't get too far like this!" Sisu gasped in shock, and Charizard gave a slightly
concerned look. "We need to find a way to neutralize the gargoyles!" Charizard
proclaimed, before looking behind and seeing the bogies still hot on their tail.
Nodding in agreement, Toothless thought for a moment, before a shadow streaked
his scales, and he looked up to see a tower rising from the ground next to a body of
water. Remembering what Sisu had done in the pool before, he got an idea. "Guys!
You see that tower up there?" Both Charizard and Sisu looked in the direction
Toothless was looking and nodded. "Try and draw as many gargoyles towards it as
possible. Follow my lead!"
As the the three circled around the dome, they managed to evade all the gargoyles
while getting them to pursue the three in one big group. "What now Toothless?" Sisu
called, slightly panicking form the sheer amount of gargoyles chasing them.
"Toothless pointed his wing towards the pool of water." When I fire a plasma blast,
you run to that pool while we lead them to the tower. Once you reach it, try and
cause a whirlpool as big as the one you made before." Sisu nodded, with Charizard
looking in confusion. "What about us?" Toothless turned his eye of sight to a window
at the top of the tower. "You fly over to the base of the tower and start burning it's
foundation. Once I get to the top, I'm going to jump out of the window at the top!"
Toothless looked towards a hole where a window once stood in the top. "When the
gargoyles try to follow me, their wight should send the building falling into the
whirlpool below!" Charizard stared at him like he was a crazy Fury. "Are you mad?"
Charizard cried That's the worst understanding of physics I have ever heard"! Sisu
gave a withering look to Charizard. "Could you please just try and be positive for
once!?" Charizard rolled his eyes and yelled in a sarcastic tone. "Fine! I am positive
this is a suicidal embarrassment." Sisu looked forward, not sure what to say. "You
know what, I think I like you better when you're brutally honest." Toothless saw the
tower approaching, and knew it was now or never. "Well, we either go with what we
have, or we turn to stone." Charizard looked back, before looking at Toothless. After
a biref moment, he suddenly shot a giant ball of fire at the gargoyles, blinding them
temporarily. Realising the plan was in motion, both Sisu and Toothless exchanged
looks, before the three separated.
As the gargoyles followed Toothless, Charizard made sure to fly out of their line of
sight, as Sisu ran low behind some rubble, making her way towards the pool. Luckily,
none of the gargoyles seemed to notice the two, and instead focused on solely
Toothless. Once Toothless and the gargoyles disappeared through an entrance in
the tower, Charizard nodded to Sisu, who nodded back as the fire dragon flew down
and began blasting the base with fire. As Sisu sprinted over towards the pool, a set
of stone talons suddenly collided with her body, pushing her towards the ground. As
Sisu tried to recover and fend off her attacker, she looked up to see the snarling
stone face of the Light Fury. As the statue had her pinned, Sisu struggled for a long
enough time to think her attacker looked familiar, before realizing who she was, and
gaping in shock. Meanwhile, as Toothless made his way up a spiraling staircase, the
hordes of gargoyles followed behind, smashing against each other and the tower like
a flooding ship, causing Toothless to stagger at various points during his ascent.
Meanwhile, as Sisu tired fending off the Light Fury, Charizard heard her cries of
distress, and upon seeing she was in trouble, sped over and rammed himself into
her attacker. As Sisu got to her feet, Charizard stood between her and the Light
Fury. "Sisu! You have to get to the water now!" Realizing she was wasting time, Sisu
nodded, and ran for the lake, diving into it as Charizard fended off the stone Light
Fury.
When Toothless reached the top, he came to the window and saw Sisu had begun
forming the whirlpool. It wasn't as strong as he would have hopped, but seeing the
danger approaching behind him, he figured it would have to do. As he jumped out
the window however, a set of stone talons grabbed onto his tail, pulling the Night
Fury back. As he clung against the wall, he looked up to see who had grabbed him,
only to see the stone face of Pengu snapping at the Night Fury's face. Toothless's
eyes widened, wondering if Sisu knew, but the sudden vibration of the tower
reminded him of the situation they were in. "As the tower's base began to cave in,
Charizard looked up and saw Toothless was trapped. Realising he had little time,
Charizard tied the Light Fury up with his tail, who fired a Drunn blast at him, barely
missing as Charizard fired a ball of fire at the gargoyle Pengu. Toothless managed to
doge just in time, allowing the blast to hit Pengu, who roared as he let go of
Toothless' tail, allowing the Night Fury to fall just as the tower finally fell behind him.
As Toothless fell towards the water with the tower behind him, Sisu jumped out of the
water, trying to catch Toothless and pull them both out of the way. However, the
constant swimming in circles had dizzied the dragoness, so her accuracy was far off,
causing her to leap in the wrong direction towards a patch of grass. Just as
Toothless closed his eyes, a blur of orange suddenly latched on to him, flying the two
into a pile of rubble nearby just as the tower hit the whirlpool. As water flew
everywhere, the whirlpool began to dissipate, and due to the sudden occupation of
space, the tower merged with the wet dirt at the bottom, burying the gargoyles with it.
As Sisu pulled herself to her feet, she looked at the lake in horror. "Toothless?!
Charizard?!" Before she could assume the worst, the two dragons emerged from the
rubble pile, which Sisu noticed, and smiled in relief. "We're ok Sisu", Toothless
laughed, before coughing slightly. Charizard helped lift the Night Fury to his feet, as
the two made their way down the pile of rubble. As Charizard released Toothless,
sisu ran over and engulfed the Fury in a hug. "That was so risky Toothless, yet so
genius!" she complimented, as the night Fury felt tears fall from her face. "You had
me worried there for a sec though. I thought you were squished!" Toothless
chuckled, as Sisu looked up to meet his eyes. "Hey, I've been through a lot worse.
It's gonna take a lot to put me in the ground." As Toothless and Sisu chuckled,
Charizard suddenly remembered the Light Fury, but as he looked back to where he
had knocked her out, she was gone. Charizard sighed, and figured they would come
back for her once the Drunn was destroyed.
A sudden roar of fury shocked the three dragons, and as they looked around, sisu
pointed up in shock. "The dome! It's shrinking!"Sure enough, as the two looked up,
the dome of Drunn was indeed moving towards them. Looking back towards
Charizard, Toothless realized it was time to go. "Charizard, now will you accept we
can't stay here?" We have to come back, otherwise we'll turn to stone!" Charizard
growled realising Toothless was right, yet didn't want to leave empty handed. Seeing
the desperate looks on both Toothless and Sisu's faces, Charizard grabbed for his
satchel, and pulled out three transport crystals. Smashing them against the ground,
Charizard grumbled as a gateway formed. Although he didn't say anything,
Charizard looked over at Toothless. "Thank you," Toothless replied, as Sisu jumped
through the portal to the next realm. However, as she did so, the dome began to
shrink faster, and as the Charizard and Toothless made haste jumping through the
gateway, it managed to close just in time before the Drunn reached them.
Unbeknown to the guardians, the Drunn or even Kandikis, another gateway had
opened and closed.
…
As the three dragons slowly rose up, Sisu let out a long winded sigh. "Well, that was
a close one, but at least we're all in one piece." Toothless didn't respond, as he was
looking at the damage done to his wing. Charizard however, wasted no time
responding back in anger. "All in one piece? We barely made it out of there with our
lives. Besides, we didn't find the purple dragon, meaning we need to go back to
Elderess and get more transportation crystals!" Both Toothless and Sisu could hear
the frustration in the charizard's voice, so the water dragon tried putting her hands up
to de-escalate the situation. "Alright, you have a point there, but look on the bright
side." Charizard threw his wings up in disbelief. "BRIGHT SIDE?! Are you fing
kidding me?! To what part of this situation, is there a bright side?!" Sisu frowned,
standing on her hind legs so she could cross her arms. "Well first of all, watch your
language. Second of all, I think three guardians is better than no guardians, based
on where we're at. And finally, if it wasn't for mToothless' quick thinking, we'd all
probably be like my brother and those other poor dragons right now!" Charizard
didn't respond, and instead, the two dragons turned to face the Night Fury, who was
still examining his wing, yet had been listening the whole time. "She's right,
Charizard. We should be looking at the positives now more than anything." Sisu's
frustrated look lifted into one of sadness, as she realised Toothless was referring to
more than just them. Walking on her four towards Toothless, she entwined her tail
with his. "I'm sorry about your wife Toothless. It must have been really hard seeing
her like that." Toothless shut his eyes, preventing any tears from streaking his face.
Charizard avoided looking at the two, as to his surprise he couldn't help but feel
sympathy and a twist of guilt.
Toothless eventually raised his head. "She would want us to keep going," he
proclaimed, as he turned his head towards Sisu. "They both would." Sisu nodded, a
determined look crossing her face, and as Charizard approached from behind, the
Night Fury looked out at the realm they had just entered.
Unlike the previous world, this one was more similar to places like Berk and the
Edge. Everywhere the eye could see, trees rose out of the ground, producing leaves
that almost entirely blocked the view of the sky, allowing only small glimmers of
sunlight to peak through. Various colours of birds could be seen flying from branch to
bush in the background, while their squarks echoed through the maze of trees. As
Toothless took a step forward, he felt something crumble beneath him, and looking
down, he saw the floor they had landed on was lined with leaves. Seeing this, Sisu
turned with a cheeky grin towards Charizard. "Watch the tail C." The range dragon
snorted, which results in the dragoness chuckling slightly.
A sudden bang from behind startled the three, and upon turning around, they could
see sparkles of electricity manifesting out of the spot of air where the portal had
closed. Faint growls could be heard, as well as constant banging could be heard
every time new sparks emitted. As the three looked closely at the spot, Sisu leaned
towards Charizard in concern. "Uuuuuh, Charizard? You are certain the gateway will
remain closed, right?" The fire dragon responded, yet his tone was uncertain, as his
line of sight didn't leave the spot of the gateway. "Of course Sisu. Gateways are
merely temporary rifts in barriers within reality and time. There has been no creature
even capable of producing a portal on their own, let alone manipulating the barriers."
Sisu snorted. "Well I hope you're right, because I don't wanna end up as Drunn juice
in some random forest."
An unfamiliar chuckle from behind caused the three's eyes to shoot open. "That
checks out. I mean, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realise whatever that thing is
means bad news." As the three spun around, Toothless and Sisu looked up in shock,
while Charizard immediately sprung into his defensive position. Up on a thick branch
above them, a dragon was laying on all fours with his tail dangling over the edge.
Two thorns and a mohawk-like set of spikes adorned his head, while this underbelly
was covered in what appeared to be just under scales, yet Toothless almost
mistaken them for armour. All these parts along with his talons, wings and tail were
yellow, yet the scales that covered the rest of his body were not. They were purple.
While Toothless felt his eyes almost pop out upon realising who was talking to them,
the purple dragon raised his eyebrow. "It also doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure
out that something isn't from around here, or at least, from my world." As he
continued, he stood up, and Sisu glanced over at Toothless, before turning towards
Charizard, who nodded his head. "Kind of like you three." The dragon pointed
towards the three before leaping off the branch, and landing on the floor on all four
with his wings outstretched, revealing he was noticeably smaller than the three.
While Toothless and Sisu were in complete shock that the purple dragon had found
them, Charizard immediately grew suspicious of the dragon's presence. "How do you
know about - thehhmrrgph?!" The fire dragon was suddenly silenced by Sisu, who
tried to muffle his mouth with her tail as subtly as possible. Toothless immediately
knew what she was doing, as the two smiled in a totally not-at-all suspicious manner.
"Uh, what exactly gives you the idea that we're from another world?" As Charizard
rolled his eyes, the purple dragon chuckled, and in the blink of an eye, sped behind
the three and engulfed Toothless and Sisu between his arms, startling the two. "Are
you kidding? What part of this wouldn't make me think that?" Spyro let go of the two,
and zipped underneath Sisu, who looked down at the peking dragon in amazement.
"Big, scary death clouds," the dragon started, before zipping out of sight and
appearing on top of Toothless' head, staring right into his eyes. "New places,
completely different from my home." As the dragon jumped off Toothless' head, he
lost sight once again, looking around for purple scales with Sisu, before they spotted
him behind Charizard. "Not to mention your…unusual accessories." While saying
this, he grabbed Charizard's tail, examining it in confusion. "Like seriously, how does
this even work?" Charizard immediately noticed this contact however, and spun his
head around roaring. "HEY! Leave my tail alone boy!" The purple dragon
immediately got the momo, and bounced away from Charizard, stopping in front of
the three.
"Overall, I pretty much figured it out when I saw you use those weird crystals to open
a portal in that dome, so I copied what you, and it brought me here." Hearing the
dragon in front of him, Toothless had a feeling he was used to unnatural stuff like
this, seemingly more so than Sisu or even Charizard. "Wait? How could you copy
us?" Sisu questioned. "Don't you need transport crystals to…well, travel between
realms?" The purple dragon nodded his head. "Yeah, but you guys seemed to have a
lot when I was watching you in that cave last night, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to
snatch one." Charizard's tail fire erupted as the dragon roared at the purple dragon.
"YOU STOLE A TRANSPORT CRYSTAL?! WE NEEDED THAT!" Seeing
Charizard's fury, the young dragon raised his hands in defense. "Hey man, I can't
help it if three strangers enter the cave I was resting in and start talking about looking
for me. If anything, I have a right to see what you're carrying, just in case ya know?"
Charizard huffed, and Sisu couldn't help but giggle. It was weird how this small
dragon was just blurting this stuff out without any thought of the consequences, but
weirdly, Toothless admired that. He wishes he could have the same amount of
confidence when discussing his own struggles with friends and family. Well, when he
could, anyways.
"What I can't seem to figure out is who you guys are," the purple dragon announced,
squinting his eyes. "I mean, I can see you guys are dragons, but I don't understand
why you're looking for me." Before Charizard could speak, Toothless lifted his wing,
signaling Charizard to let him handle things. Although the fire dragon seemed
hesitant, he obliged, and took a step back next to Sisu, who yelped as a bit of weed
caught fire due to his tail. "Well, no one said we were looking for you. I mean, there's
no evidence." The purple dragon cut him off, pointing his talon at the Night Fury. "You
were talking about finding a purple dragon." He then pointed towards Charizard.
"And based on candle-tail's comments, I'm pretty sure that there's only one purple
dragon from my world. So, I believe I deserve some answers." Toothless turned
towards Sisu and Charizard, who the ladder placed his talons against his forehead,
while the dragoness gave a hopeless shrug. Seeing the writing on the wall, Toothless
knew it was better to tell this dragon the truth. "Alright, but maybe try to be less
pushy. I'm Toothless, and that's Sisu and Charizard." Toothless gestured towards
himself and the others, to which Sisu waved and Charizard snorted. The purple
dragon raised his eyebrow. "Well, that doesn't tell me much, but it's a start. I'm
Spyro." Toothless nodded. "In terms of why we're looking for you Spyro, there's a
prophecy…" Spyro suddenly raised his hand, causing Toothless to cease talking.
"Hold up, this sounds like a lot to process. Could you maybe go a little slower?"
Toothless stared at him for a moment, before placing his paw to his head and
sigh-growling as he shut his eyes. "Listen, that 'thing' back there is the reason we
were looking for you. I know it may sound bizarre, but it's ravaging all our homes,
and endangering our loved ones. If we do nothing, then they'll all be gone." Sisu
nodded with a sympathetic look, while Charizard looked away, a look of loss crossing
his face. "And so will everything that has free will across the nine realms, if the Drunn
and its master aren't stopped." Sisu looked over towards Charizard, feeling like there
was something he was hiding, yet she didn't push. "That's why we have to unite the
guardians. To stop that from happening and to save everyone." As the three
exchanged glances, Spyro tilted his head in confusion. "So, let me get this straight.
The world - or, multiple worlds, I guess, are in danger, and you think I'm the guy who
can save them." Sisu suddenly perked up, and zipped in front of Spyro's face,
startling the small dragon. "Of course you are! We ALL are!" she declared, with her
signature goofy smile, that made Toothless chuckle. "We're the five dragons destined
to save the nine realms!"
Spyro stood still for a moment, seemingly not fully processing what Sisu had said,
before he jerked his head back and startled laughing harder than a hyena. As he fell
onto his back, Spyro kept laughing, while Sisu just watched in confusion. "Why is he
laughing? Was it something I said?" she questioned Toothless as he walked up to
her. "No Sisu, there was nothing funny about what you said," he assured, before
looking down at Spyro in his fits of laughter. "Some dragons are just really
immature." As he finished, Charizard walked up beside the two. "Besides, unfunny
can be applied to her entire demeanour." Toothless turned towards Charizard and
bared his teeth warningly. "Charizard…" Toothless growled, causing Charizard to
give him a confused side eye. "What? I'm being honest, like she wanted." As the
laughing dyed down, toothless turned his attention back to Spyro, who pulled himself
to his feet. "I'm sorry, honestly!" He put his talons to his head, trying to cease his
laughter. "Look, you guys seem ok, and I've had my fair share of adventures, but do
you honestly expect me to believe that story?" As Toothless glared down at the
dragon in irritation, an idea suddenly popped into the Night Fury's head, and upon
receiving it, he perked up, before looking back at Spyro, and grinning slyly. Walking
forward, Toothless signaled the others to follow as they walked past Spyro. "Well, if
you don't believe in the prophecy, I guess we don't need your help, and you don't
need ours." Spyro immediately stopped laughing as his eyes widened, and before
the three could walk away, Spyro flew in front of them and landed in front of
Toothless. "Now wait just a minute," Spyro pointed in a serious tone. "Regardless of
what you're saying, my world is in danger, and so is Cyn- er, all my friends. I can't
just let you walk away, and leave me in a world I don't know." Toothless raised his
eyebrow. "Of course not. Charizard can open a gateway for you if you want." Before
Charizard shouted at Toothless, he stopped himself, beginning to understand what
Toothless was playing at. "I'm sure a small dragon like you can find his way back
through his realm with no problem whatsoever." As Toothless finished, Spyro heard a
loud bang behind them, and as he looked past Toothless, he could see sparks
continuing to fly out of the air, as the Drunn kept growling. As Sisu and Charizard
caught on to Toothless' idea, the water dragons chuckled, and the fire dragon gave
an impressed grin. Wincing as he gulped, Spyro turned back towards Toothless, who
raised his wings seeking an answer. As a result, Spyro sighed, and slumped back,
hanging his head in defeat. "Ok fine. You win." Spyro's comment caused Toothless to
playfully raise his eyebrow, as he knew he had called the purple dragon's bluff. "I
win? So you're saying you want to help us?" Spyro chuckled, realising Toothless'
play. "Yeah, I guess so," he confessed, shrugging his wings. "Your motivations may
sound goofy, but they seem like they're coming from the right place. If you can help
me save my home, I'll help you guys." Toothless nodded, retracting his teeth and
giving his signature toothless smile. "You have my word Spyro."
Upon hearing Spyro's acceptance into their group, Sisu bounced forwards, circling
the two ecstatically. "All right!" she sang, as the two dragons she circled watched her.
"Now that we have four guardians, all that's left is this realm's guardian, then we'll be
able to awaken our powers and save our friends and family!" As Sisu bounced
ahead, Spyro turned towards her, and raised his wings with a determined look. "Well
I bet your power won't be as awesome as mine will be!" Sisu stopped and faced
Spyro with a sly yet cheeky grin. Oh yeah? Well if you wanna decide that, you'll have
to beat me to the guardian to find out!" As soon as she finished, Spyro dashed
forward, and Sisu ran off, laughing as Spyro followed hot on her tail. As the two ran
ahead, Charizard walked up to Toothless and tapped him on the shoulder. Turning
around, Toothless was shocked to see Charizard was smiling at the Night Fury.
"How did you know he would join us?" Charizard questioned, to which Toothless just
shrugged." Don't know. I guess I just looked past the immature dragon he appeared
to be, and figured out a way to reveal who he was on his own." To the Night Fury's
shock, Charizard chuckled. "Well, that was actually a smart move, Night Fury."
Hearing the compliment, Toothless smiled in appreciation." Wow. Thanks." Sisu
calling out to the two suddenly caught their attention. "Are you guys coming? We
don't know where we're going." As Toothless chuckled, Charizard called out to Sisu.
"We're coming. Just wait for us." As he pulled out a map, the two dragons started
walking towards Sisu and Spyro, in order to determine where they would find the last
Titan Wing.

As it turned out, she wasn't as far as they expected. As the Night Fury and the fire
dragon began walking away, the leaves of a bush behind them rustled, and two blue
eyes appeared out of nowhere. As they watched the four dragons walking away, a
head soon appeared, followed by the neck, and below long, the entire dragon was
visible. None of the four she was watching seemed to notice, but as they journeyed
deeper into the forest, the rainwing's serious look didn't leave her face. She didn't
know who they were, nor what this so-called 'Drunn' was, but she knew one thing;
she was gonna learn more about them, whether they complied or not.
