AN: Alright, another new story. This time it's a Percy Jackson x DC crossover. I was debating on this one, or a Percy Jackson x Godzilla fic, with Godzilla: Minus One (amazing movie, highly recommend) and now Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire getting a trailer, it's all getting me really hyping me up and wanting to do it. Might do that later.
Chose this one ultimately as it was something I actually had planned for a while, as its original inspiration-Rage of a Demigod by Alphamon Burstmode X on -has only one chapter and I can safely assume is discontinued since it came out in 2017. Alongside the fact that considering the Percy Jackson show coming out, I find it poetic that I get this done in time for it.
I'll be 100% honest, I'm not looking forward to it at all. Looks cheap for the most part, acting came off as bland and phoned in so far. Not to mention that casting failed so badly, which I feel is the biggest red flag. Like, I'm not going to get into a whole thing about it, but all I'll say is this: this should've been type cast from the get go instead of the joke that is 'open casting'. Even if he made the series, Rick is wrong in his decisions regarding the cast (after all, if Hazel was portrayed by Hispanic and he stood by it, people would flip) and the fact I'm pretty sure he and others are calling people who point this out as racist has me wanting this to bomb purely out of spite. I mean for God's sake, people were mad that Annabeth wasn't blonde in those horrible movies, and now it's the same thing only amplified. The fact she looks more like Hazel than Annabeth is a massive blunder.
Like let's be real, do you really want to watch/support something when the creator calls you racist? I sure as heck don't.
Anyway, here we go. I own nothing.
"Urg, what the fuck happened?" A teenage male with messy black hair groaned as he slowly woke up, revealing sea-green eyes with a visible touch of red along with black sclera. At a height of around 5'10, his body had a build similar to that of a swimmer, perhaps slightly more muscular. His skin used to be tan but that died down over the past few months and became slightly more pale due to a certain benefactor.
Looking around, he saw he was contained in some sort of containment field. Around him was a variety of computers and other equipment. Within the walls were various cells that contained a variety of species, some sitting there patiently while others frothed and raged against their imprisonment. He himself was suspended spread eagle, his arms and legs held with some kind heavy cuffs.
His outfit consisted of black under armor that covered most of his body. The over armor was a bright red, covering his chest with a breastplate that somewhat resembled a demonic bulls face while leaving his stomach less armored with small horns crossing over his shoulders. Connected to the back of his shoulders were two thin, pseudo capes that hung down towards his knees, floating around idly like they had a mind of their own. His right shoulder had an ornate red pauldron on it while his left shoulder was free and his forearms and shins, despite being hidden, were armored as well. Finally, the center of his breastplate, right on the bulls forehead, had a special symbol that pulsed a neon red periodically, traveling across the rest of his body and armor like a heartbeat.
This was Percy Jackson, demigod, son of Posiedon, Hero of Olympus, and more importantly, a Red Lantern.
"Okay, Luthor orchestrated a major team up, things were fucking chaotic. Me and Wonder Woman were tag teaming Ares. Don't tell me we lost." Percy spoke to himself, growling as he remembered the last few hours, revealing a mouth of sharp teeth perfect for shredding flesh. Metropolis was being seized by the biggest team up yet. Luthor, Ares, Ocean Master, Sinestro, almost every villain they knew was working together (they best they could with wildcards like Doomsday in the picture), forcing the Justice League and other heroes to fight back. His recollection was disturbed by something heavy making its way towards him.
Standing at least eight feet tall, the male humanoid marching towards Percy was incredibly muscular to the point he made Hercules look frail. His yellow skin clashed with his dark gray pants, dark red armored shirt and black boots. Finally, attached to his bald head was some kind of implant, one similar to the technology that was placed in key points.
Mongul: Voiced by Keith David- Design: Young Justice
"Mongul. What the fuck do you want this time?" Percy spat out, narrowing his red eyes at the warlord's own matching ones in an attempt of bravery. Internally, he was scared beyond measure to the point he'd rather face Kronos and the other titans again. He heard of the Justice League's encounters with the alien and he knew he and his friends stood little to no chance against him as of now. Mongul grinned cruelly.
"Oh such a mouth on you. I heard you were a volatile one but to see it in person is another thing." He taunted smoothly, placing a hand bigger than Percy's skull on it mockingly. Of course, Percy fought back, attempting and failing to bite the limb. Mongul merely chuckled.
"No matter. Soon enough it won't matter." He stated arrogantly, stepping away from the volatile demigod, crossing his arms behind his back, all too similar to Darkseid.
"You see young Persues, I'm taking things a little differently this time. Taking over Earth head on myself as you know hasn't worked out well before." Mongul admitted in a rare instance of humility. Percy simply rolled his eyes, knowing that Mongul was about to reveal his secret plan.
"So I figured this time, I'll try things differently. Little by little, bit by bit, I'll chip away at this planet's defenses." Mongul announced proudly, hitting a button on a terminal, panels removing themselves from a wall off to the side, revealing a variety of captives. His friends and team Ricochet, Creature, Zero and Supergirl, were strung up in containment fields similar to his own. On another wall were beings that made Percy start to panic. Karu-Sil, Skallox, Bleez, Nam-Ek, Faora-Ul, and a few other super dangerous individuals. all of them were contained as well, with the appropriate measures to contain them. This was bad.
"Taking its defenders out one by one. Divide and conquer as they say." Mongul grinned cruelly, roughly twisting Percy's head to another display.
"Oh you've got to be kidding me." Percy swore. Over a dozen headsets were on display, similar in appearance to the one Mongul wore. The difference between them was that these were biomechanical in nature, as the use of Brainiac's tech and a Starro star were very obvious. Seeing the look of horror on Percy's face, Mongul took his leave, not looking back on the struggling demigod.
Percy thrashed wildly against his binds, putting all his strength into even bending the restraints to no avail. In a last ditch effort, he put everything into one of his arms, pushing it to the point he felt one of the bones fracture. Hissing in annoyance, Percy hung their panting, feeling the slightest bit of freedom in the broken arm. His eyebrows shot up as he thought of a bad, but workable idea.
"Oh this is gonna suck so fucking much." Percy cursed to himself before biting his lip HARD, his fangs shredding flesh with ease. Blood began flowing out, dribbling down his chin and onto the floor, which warped and melted under its molten properties. With great struggle, Percy willed the blood into a more compact form, taking the appearance of a crude knife that floated in front of him. Taking a deep breath, Percy shot it into his elbow. Gritting his teeth, he crudely repeatedly the process, more and more flesh being shredded with every stab, more and more molten blood melting the floor.
After about a minute of destroying his own elbow, Percy savagely pulled on his arm, the last shreds of flesh still hanging on quickly pulling apart. With his one arm a shredded stump, Percy finally had enough leverage. Summoning some blood from his stump, Percy splattered it against the restraint on his other arm. The metal began glowing and in conjunction with him pulling again, his ringed arm finally popped free. Flexing his clawed hand, red ring on his middle finger, Percy shot some energy blasts at his feet, freeing him completely.
"Rrrggghhh, alright. Now for the others." Percy muttered to himself, floating over to Ricochet and taking care of her bindings.
As the metahuman Daughter of Deadshot, Ricochet was garbed in an outfit similar to her father's, the difference being that her outfit had silver highlights on her black armor, which covered her shins, thighs, upper arms, as well as a breastplate that hugged her womanly curves, meshing well with the dark red cloth underneath. On her forearms were wrist mounted guns exactly like her father's, while her mask was completely black and featureless, with her long black hair in a ponytail sticking out of the back. Feeling herself being lowered to the ground, the weapon expert slowly roused from unconsciousness.
"Ugh, Percy, what happened?" She asked, her mask allowing her to speak clearly, graciously leaning into her friend as she gathered her wits. Taking a few deep breaths, she shakily stood up to her full height of 5'11 and looked at Percy.
"Mongul is sneaking onto Earth and kidnapping heroes and villains one by one and whittling down the defenses. After that he's either killing them or enslaving them. He must've taken us when Metropolis was being besieged by Luthor and everyone else." Percy explained, using his ring to check over the taller girl. Seeing she was okay, the duo immediately went to free their other friends.
Generating a blade with his ring, Percy violently hacked at Supergirl's bindings, struggling with the superior metal that was fused with Kryptonite. After a good minute, the blonde Kryptonian fell forward with Percy gently catching her.
Like her cousin, Supergirl was dressed in a red and blue outfit. At a standing height of 5'7, Supergirl had knee high red boots that complimented her exposed thighs, Kryptonian physiology protecting her skin from most harm. At her waist was a red skirt that hung towards mid thigh. A blue, skin tight suit clung to her upper body and arms, emphasizing her curvy, muscular form. From her shoulders was a red cape that hung towards her knees. Finally, on her chest was the symbol of hope itself, standing out against the blue proudly with red and yellow.
As Percy helped Supergirl, Ricochet was helping Myriad. Considering the nature of her powers, Myriad's containment was a large bubble that kept her in suspended animation. Ricochet merely shot the glass and created a giant hole. Immediately, glowing yellow eyes shot open before her body turned into a dark mist and flowed out of her former prison. The dark mist took shape, eventually forming a solid body. Hunched over, said body was covered in a large brown robe and hood that covered practically all of her body, a seemingly endless amount of ash burning off the edges. The only visible parts were near skeletal, scaled hands. Finally, glowing yellow orbs shined brightly from the black abyss where her face would be.
They had no idea what she was. All they knew was that she was magical, with a knack for summoning various beings. Occasionally she'd also turn into those she summoned, but unlike Beast Boy, she gained most of the instincts and mindset of said creature. Thankfully the more powerful the summon was, the shorter it stayed summoned, along with her reverting back much quicker. Of course, they were more than able to restrain most of her transformations.
With all four of them awake, they went to rescue their final friend. He was massive, standing at at least 6'6, with a muscular build a bit bigger than Superman's. His body was completely obscured by some kind of body suit that was a soothing pale white. On his feet, shins, thighs, shoulders, upper arms, forearms, chest and back were black, segmented plates that allowed plenty of movement and protection. His head was covered in a helmet with a glass visor over his eyes while his mouth was covered in a highly sophisticated device that opened up just enough for him to eat.
None of them knew what he looked like, as he never took off his suit in public and whenever he did, he had some kind of projector giving him a disguise to blend in. They had no idea what he sounded like as he never spoke, instead using sign language or text to speech, and in the rare instances he did get into fights, he never made a sound despite the damage he would take. Nonetheless, they loved him, with Kara Zor-El even dating him. Despite his great strength, he preferred being a medic and inventor, but was more than willing to get his hands dirty if needed. Everyone was more than willing to respect his wishes, as all five of them knew that if he was needed, they REALLY needed him to step up and he did so without complaint.
Waving her hand, Myriad summoned an advanced looking backpack, one that she was struggling to lift.
"Here's your stuff." She grunted, her ethereal voice sounding like a few people talking at once. Zero effortlessly took it from his friend, nodding in gratitude before digging through it. Ensuring everything was in there, he slung it over his back after taking a black sword and tenderly handing it to Percy.
"Alright guys, let's move. Zero, where are we exactly?" Percy asked as he strung the sword over his back, looking up at his friend. Tapping on his wrist, a hologram shot up in front of him, showing where they were on warworld, the computer on his wrist connecting to the network with ease.
"Mongul is really sure of himself, isn't." Supergirl muttered. She was correct, as the five of them as well as the other prisoners were locked up a few rooms away from the engine and navigation systems. Percy suddenly had an idea.
"Okay, stupid plan. Blow up the warp drive, wipe this and hopefully Mongul from this universe. All in favor?" Percy offered, pointing out the type of engine Warworld functioned on. If they played their cards right, they'd never have to deal with the warlord ever again. The four of them nodded in agreement without hesitation, more than eager to get rid of Mongul now, especially after being aware of his latest plan.
"You guys are the best!" Percy cheered happily, giggling like a madman, emotions and instincts running rampant as the five of them began running and or flying through the halls. Despite their escape, there was a suspicious lack of minions roaming the battle station, let alone any alarm. Soon enough, they came upon the engine room.
"Okay, this is the warp drive. Expected something more impressive." Ricochet muttered in disappointment, and she was right. It was a simple device, around the size of an adult elephant. Overall it looked like an oversized engine, the difference being that around its center was a glowing tube wrapped around it, no doubt a particle accelerator of sorts. Despite its simplicity, it got the job done as it was capable of moving the planet sized war machine.
"You got this babe." Supergirl said encouragingly, planting a chaste kiss on Zero's helmet. Blushing even though they couldn't see it, Zero immediately went to the nearby terminal and got to work, interacting with the advanced alien system with practiced ease. As the gentle giant worked, heavy footsteps made their way towards the group. Ricochet pulled out her rifle, Myriad had arcane runes at the ready, Supergirl did some light stretches while Percy made a simple sword. Mongul entered the engine room, a small grin on his face.
"Impressive. I haven't even been gone for five minutes and you've already accomplished so much." Mongul boasted, uncaring of the heroes opposing him. He chuckled to himself.
"Yes, I think I'll enslave you five first. Perhaps I'll-oof!" He revealed, only to be cut off by a punch to the face by Supergirl, something that would've felled most beings but only sent him barely stumbling back. This was quickly followed up by Percy sending a blast of red energy at him that engulfed his upper body.
"Supergirl, with me against Mongul. Ricochet and Myriad provide covering fire for us and Zero if anything else shows up!" Percy ordered, generating a spear that he threw, the warlord batting it away easily. As Percy lobbed another spear, Ricochet was peppering his face with dozens of bullets, hoping one of them would hit an eye and make him flinch. Of course it was a useless endeavor. Flying in at high speeds, Supergirl cooked her fist back and slammed it into his cheek, a small shockwave and crater underneath the warlord forming on impact. All it did was turn his head slightly.
"You've got spirit kryptonian." Mongul praised twistedly, barely bothered by Supergirl's flurry of blows upon his face. Unbothered by the assault, he lazily grabbed her fist with his hand and held her up. Trying to free herself, she barely moved from his grip as she tugged with all her might desperately.
"Yet you're far behind your cousin!" He snarled, slamming her down harshly, creating a larger crater. Bringing her up, he was about to slam her again until Percy shot onto his face, clawing and biting at it like a savage animal. All it did was annoy him
"You're an interesting human." Mongul said in a bored tone, unbothered by Percy's feeble attacks. Grabbing him by the neck like a cat, he held the struggling demigod out in front of him, chuckling humorously at his attempts to scratch his arm.
"Red Lanterns are oh so rare and- Mongul was cut off by Percy firing a burst of blood from his mouth, the boiling liquid actually forcing the alien to drop him roughly as it got into his eyes, temporarily blinding him.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Percy screamed, molten blood spraying from his maw and warping the floor on contact. Behind him, Myriad was firing a flurry of spell from her hands, dozens of fireballs, shards of ice and bolts of lightning flying at Mongul's weakened face. Ricochet pulled out her rifle and was taking calculated shots, hoping the high caliber bullets would do something against the weakened fleash. Pulling herself out of her crater, Supergirl's eyes began to glow red before twin beams of scarlet joined the assault. Finally, Percy was pushing everything he had into his ring, the energy beam taking on a semi white hue from its intensity. Eventually, the assault reached critical mass, and soon enough, a large explosion shook the room.
"You think that worked?" Percy asked, panting heavily. Wiping his mouth, he saw his friends were in similar states, save Ricochet.
"It never does." Ricochet said in deadpan, stating the obvious and Percy felt her rolling her eyes at his question. Sure enough, Mongul lumbered forward, virtually untouched save some irritation around his eyes and some minor rips on his clothes.
"Impressive. Your elders would be proud." He praised, wiping some ash off himself as the four teens readied themselves again.
"You five will make fine additions to my army, and soon, I'll be- Mongul was cut off by the warp drive being thrown at him with tremendous force, enough that it sent him off his feet and wedged into a wall. Turning around they say Zero standing there nonchalantly, a gaping hole in the floor where the warp drive used to reside.
"Dude." Percy said, throwing his arm up in disbelief. Zero merely shrugged nonchalantly as he came over.
"I mean, the warp drive is destroyed." Myriad said, looking at the bright side of the situation. Sure enough, said engine was sparking violently, ready to blow at a moment's notice.
"And now that thing will blow any minute." Ricochet said, stumbling as the ship shuddered violently, forcing her to lean on Percy.
"Well, any last words before we end up who knows where?" Supergirl asked rhetorically. Myriad, Ricochet and Zero were silent, merely coming in for a group hug as the room exploded around them.
"I still very much want to beat the fuck out of a certain few Greek gods. Zero, anything to protect us?" Percy said, gritting his teeth at the thought of certain deities. Reaching into his bag, Zero placed a palm sized device on everyone's chest, enveloping them in a blue glow.
"I'll see you guys wherever we end up. Zero, it's up to you to collect us if we get scattered across dimensions." Percy said, ordering their genius friend on what to do. Another explosion rocked the ship, nearing its destruction. Everyone was silent, and while everyone's thoughts varied, Percy's went to a singular goal.
"I don't pray much anymore, but if any higher being is hearing this, PLEASE let me get back home so I can fucking kill those Greek fucks." Percy prayed, hoping something would hear his plea. In The Fifth Dimension, a certain imp heard his plea, shrugged his shoulders and snapped his fingers, realizing that letting it happen would be some good entertainment. Not a second too soon, as right after that, Warworld imploded, vanishing from that dimension. Meanwhile on Earth, certain individuals were summoned from that dimension and taken elsewhere.
Elsewhere
"Ugh, again. This is the second time." Percy growled as he regained his consciousness from being knocked out briefly, feeling harsh winds biting his face. Focusing, he simply narrowed his eyes as he saw he was racing towards the ground at breakneck speeds. Passing through the clouds, he took a brief second to appreciate the sight of New York City during the night, memories of him and his mother flashing through him: he'd have to visit her soon. Taking a deep breath, he angled himself towards the Hudson and shot into it like a bullet, barely feeling the heavy impact that would've injured or even killed some beings. His divine heritage played no part in it, not after what he's been through and what he can do now.
A barely visible red dot made its way through the river, unseen by all. Whatever animals were nearby swam away as fast as possible, eager to get away from dominating presence, with those of myth and magic fairing no better, their skin barely heating up as Percy's blood mixed with the river. Digging a hand into the concrete, Percy hauled himself out of the water, water quickly evaporating off of him. Laying there for a few minutes, Percy's body screamed in protest as he forced himself to his feet. Dispelling his uniform, Percy was left in a pair of black jeans and a dark red shirt, the Red Lantern symbol in green on its center, all the while he made his stump appear like a clean amputation.
Stumbling through the streets, trying to find a place to bunker down for the night, he heard something that brought up old memories, which merely made him roll his eyes and sigh in annoyance. Turning to the alleyway, he saw a small handful of cyclops lumbering towards him, crooked maws salivating uncontrollably.
"Oooohh, you smell spicy. That's new." The lead cyclops, bigger than his companions, ground out dumbly. In their meaty paws were some makeshift weapons such as clubs and in the leader's case, one with spikes jammed into it. Percy chuckled humorously, sending a few shivers up the monster's spines, as he ran his remaining hand through his hair.
"Oh man, hehehe. Look guys, I'm not having a good day. Walk away and I'll let you live." Percy offered peacefully, not at all wanting to deal with this right now. As expected, the larger monster charged him mindlessly, club raised up to smash him. Sighing in annoyance, Percy merely caught the club in his hand, his arm barely moving despite the force behind. Dumbfounded, the cyclops could only blink before Percy ripped the club out of his hand violently. Punching the monster in its stomach 'lightly', he whined pathetically as he felt his ribs break violently. No demigod could do this. Only Hercules could boast similar levels of power, and even then, he was far older than this one when he was mortal, and even then, instincts told him he was holding back.
Collapsing to his knees, he gasped for breath as he coughed up blood and vomit, shards of bones stabbing his lungs and stomach. Before he could stew in agony any longer, Percy granted him mercy, grabbing his head and brutally twisting it. Never had the cyclops been so eager to return to Tartarus, if only to get away from the demigod in front of him.
"Dumbasses never learn." Percy taunted, shaking the golden dust, blood and other liquids off of him. He had to find his sword to finish the job next time he popped up, realizing it was no longer attached to him.
"Anyone else?" Percy taunted, looking at the underlings. Lucky for them, seeing their leader so effortlessly executed, the survivors shook their heads in denial.
"Good. Get the fuck out of here and if I catch you bastards causing trouble, I'll hunt you down." Percy threatened, motioning them away as he resumed his trek. Sighing in relief at their footsteps running from him, Percy tore off a manhole cover before descending into the sewers. Flying through the maze of pipes, crimson light illuminating his journey, Percy soon came across what would appear to be a slightly damaged area of bricks. He knew better.
Ripping apart the shoddy cover up, Percy crawled into the small shelter, no doubt a last, hasty pit stop before the final dash toward Camp Half Blood. It was small, barely big enough for two people, but for a few young demigods, it was more than enough room.
"Not the worst place I've slept." He muttered, collapsing on an old, thin mattress. Across from him were a few minor medical supplies, not that he needed it, and some long expired rations.
"Should take me a few hours, maybe days to get my arm back. Until then, I just have to take it easy." Percy muttered to himself, glancing at his bloody stump. The bleeding had nearly stopped, save a few drops here and there that melted the stone beneath him. It was a few centimeters, but his arm was coming back. Just had to take it easy and find some clean water: something better than what was flowing by a few feet away.
Percy felt his eyes start to grow heavy, hours of heavy fighting, pushing himself nonstop, blood loss and adrenaline dying down starting to take its toll. Percy slowly started to grin, his mind finally catching up to him. He just killed a cyclops. A demigod hiding spot. That could only mean one thing.
"Watch out you fucks, I'm back!" Percy thought gleefully, a maniacal look on his face as he cackled insanely. His eyes were wide and darting erratically, smiling and showing off his bloodied fangs to the point his lips started to rip apart. He couldn't wait for what was to come. As quick as his realization came, he started to calm down, his thoughts going to more pleasant memories.
"I'll come back to you Wise Girl. I promise." Percy thought lovingly, a small tear falling down his face as he thought of his Annabeth before drifting off to sleep.
AN: Anyway, as you can tell, this is a generic Percy Betrayed fic. However, I'm definitely going to do things differently. For one, Annabeth obviously hasn't betrayed him and they still love each other a lot. Another difference is that some of those who betray him won't be the usual. Obviously we'll have Zeus and the other usual picks, but I've got some twists on this part.
All I'll say is this: even though the gods who betrayed Percy aren't many, they're powerful as heck and can be more than capable of handling the other gods. Think God of War 3 where even though Kratos was mowing through the gods, Zeus was the biggest problem.
Now, I want to say this now. I haven't read the sequel series with the Romans officially (only familiar due to fanfic) only the original five books, and even then, it's been awhile so my knowledge won't be up to snuff. I'll try and get the Roman's involved but making no promises, let alone things that are 100% accurate.
Anyway, I chose Mongul as the big DC bad, or one of them, because I find he's enough of a threat that stakes are real and big, but they stand a chance in the end. Like c'mon, you really think Brainiac or Darkseid being the big bad would be fair?
Percy x Annabeth x Artemis x Thalia x ?. I'm thinking maybe Hestia and likely Aphrodite but I'm unsure as of now. More might get involved later.
Nico x ? x Fem Will (nothing against the LGBTQ, just not comfortable writing guy x guy)(Also, disclaimer, this one will be pretty fucked up)
OC x Supergirl x ?
Pairings subject to change.
Anyway, I'm gonna try and get another chapter or two out ASAP.
