Kind Words (The Dear Lady – 1915)

She says "They fired first"

The uncle responds "I know that Carolyn"

He looks at his nephew. "That's the landlord. You remember that.".

She starts to leave and then turns to address the boy herself.

"My Dear Boy there are those who know me as Carolyn and there are those who know me as Carol. For better or for worse you are one of the people that knows me as Carol. That doesn't mean you're a bad person, that just means that's how we know each other".

She continues on her way out. And then from the door-

"You're taking your chances. Mr. Collins I'll put it that way.".

The uncle replies "I'd rather take my chances with Brasi than trust you.".

She retorts "Well if that's how you feel then I don't know what to say Mr. Collins".

Then she turns once again. "Goodbye my Dear Boy".

And she leaves.
