Kara hadn't expected to see Kate at her loft while her interview with Cat Grant aired but then she hadn't expected Kate to look like her old self again either, at least she hoped it was Kate.

"Hello?" Kara hesitated, everyone looked to the door.

"If I said alien tech would it make it easier?" Kate asked still standing in the hall. "Or you could sneak another peak." Kate gestured at her body getting a blush from Kara.

"I'm sorry, come in, it's good to see you." Kara pulled the woman in for a hug. "Are you okay?"

"Just need a recharge but I couldn't bring myself to go to Gotham." Kate shifted foot to foot seeing the room full of people, she had met them all during or after the crisis.

"Kate." Lena smiled, the last time she'd seen her was when she came to National City to see Kara, she'd looked completely different, but they had talked multiple time while she was on her travels, Lena had offered her whatever tech she needed in her search for Bruce.

"Lena." she gave the smaller brunette a smile.

"You remember J'onn." Kara gestured to him.

"Yea, hi." Kate gave him a wave following her to the group.

"Hello, good to see you again." he didn't have to read her mind, her 'aura' as some people called it felt like Kate.

"You remember my sister Alex, this is her wife Kelly and that's Esme their daughter." Kara grinned pointing to the couch, Kate smiled, Alex and Beth had been the topic of many of their conversations during their time in the Vanishing Point.

"Good to see things working in your favor." Kate nodded, Alex grinned, Kelly smiled she'd heard of Kate but hadn't met the woman. "You got some awesome moms kid."

"Thank you." Esme beamed "You have pictures on you."

"A lot," Kate nodded. "surprised your Aunt Kara too." the little girl giggled, leaning Kate whispered to Kara "He's green?"

"His natural color." Kara assured her, he'd been human in appearance when Kate had last seen him and blue with 3 dots on his forehead in multiple pictures that Kara had shown her on her phone.

Standing Nia offered Kate her seat, "No it's okay, I don't want to interrupt, I can come back later." Kate waved her off.

"You wanted to recharge, game night is a great way to decompress, you can partner with me and Lena, it'll make the teams even." Kara said leading Kate over to the kitchen "Wine, beer, Scotch and of course water." since her fridge was stuffed with food Kara had a smaller one with drinks.

"Juice." Esme held up her cup.

"Beer's good." Kate accepted the cold bottle. Following Kara to the table she sat on the floor next to her "So how's the Foundation going?"

"Lot of work, " Lena sipped her Scotch "but I'm finding the right people to run both it and L Corp, with no Luthor left to hand the reigns over to the board is getting jumpy." She had changed the name the same time she started the foundation.

"Understandable, with no heir the board pulled a lot of crap until I took over." Kate nodded "I'm hoping Ryan can keep them in line."

"I will call her and check on her, say L Corp is interested in doing some business with Wayne Enterprises."

"Thank you." Kate nodded grateful that Lena understood she still didn't want to go home.

"How long are you in town for?" Nia asked.

"Couple days, maybe longer." Kate shrugged asking "So what are we playing?" hoping they would understand she didn't want to talk more.

"Charades, and it's your teams turn to act out." J'onn held the hat out to Kara.

Kate was relaxed by the time game night was over, she was helping Lena and Kara with the small clean up which really consisted of dishes and taking the trash out. "I got this." Kate held up the bag of trash, she'd seen the dumpster on her way in. Kara washed while Lena rinsed and put them in the dry rack it wasn't much just the popcorn and chip bowls and the drink glasses. They already had a bag in the trash can and a piece of pie plated and waiting for her when she returned "So sure I was coming back?" Kate asked picking up the plate, napkin and fork.

"If you weren't you would have left with everyone else." Kara shrugged knowing she was right, Kate chuckled joining them. "So obviously you haven't found him."

"I knew it wasn't going to be easy but this is ridiculous." giving a deep sigh she took a bite of the pie. Swallowing Kate looked down at the pie impressed "Damn."

"Eliza makes the best chocolate pecan pie." Kara grinned, she'd just went back to Midvale after dinner because she had to prepare for a lecture.

"So how are you two really doing?" Kate asked, Kate had been there for Kara in the Void while the super lamented her damaged and at the time unrepairable relationship with Lena. Kara had informed Kate about Levitation and Lena helping, and any fool with a television or phone could see Lena standing with the supers against her brother in the various videos. "You're not back to how it was before but something's different and something's up."

"That obvious?" Lena couldn't help but chuckle.

"Kara's eyes when people started leaving and you're fidgeting."

"I'm out as Supergirl tonight, I did an interview with Cat Grant and decided to tell the world."

"Wow." Kate took another bite of the pie. "So you're just waiting for the backlash?" Kara nodded, she was scared, excited and eager to start a new time in her life where she didn't have to lie to anyone.

"Eliza has an emergency watch in case someone messes with her." Kara sighed, she was afraid of some of the reactions from the people in Midvale.

"She'll be okay darling she knows how to handle herself." Lena promised earning an eyebrow raise from Kate. "What?" Kate just looked between the two women, Lena's hand resting on Kara's thigh "Oh shush." Lena chuckled.

"What?" Kara asked looking up from her clean plate.

"Kate is wondering about our relationship." Lena smirked.

"Why?" Kara asked putting the plate down on the table taking a drink of her wine.

"I don't want to be nosy or indelicate, I've been accused of being both." Kate looked at Lena, the woman seemed to be enjoying herself as Kate tried to figure out how to ask "Screw it, are you two dating? Sleeping together? " she gestured between the two women. "I've watched you two since I got here, the touching, the looks, the flirting." she pointed directly at Lena for the last one she'd learned on her own that Kara was very tactile.

Kara coughed choking on her wine while Lena laughed and patted her back telling Kara "You're right she is very to the point."

"Don't leave me hanging." Kate waited.

"We have no idea what 'this' is." Lena gestured from herself to Kara "No we are not dating nor sleeping together, we just enjoy one another's company, Kara was the first person to look beyond my last name, she made Clark and the others see it too. Yes we had a fallout..."

Kate coughed "Break up." to which Lena just smirked.

"Luthors are dramatic."

"I can believe that between talking to Kara and meeting that asshat." Kate couldn't help but chuckle, Lex was a complete drama queen and kept trying to make everything about himself during their time in the Void.

"Lena helps me feel normal...human, I can lift a car and she still protects me, before it was because she didn't know and now..."

"You're not invincible." Lena said softly, giving a headshake she tried to rid herself of the image of Kara crashing to the street after her battle with Reign only to have it replaced with Kara struggling against kryptonite poisoning, Kara gave Lena's hand a light squeeze, looking up Lena softly smiled.

"You don't treat me like that either," Kara told Kate, "like in the Vanishing Point, you kept me from losing myself and kept me hopeful."

"Thank you for that." Lena couldn't remember if she'd actually thanked the other woman for looking out for her best friend. "She told me you kept Lex away from her."

"That guy was a complete dick."

"No argument here." Kara mumbled.

"He didn't start out that way." Lena said softly.

"Sorry." Kate gruffed "I have one at home."

"Your sister, Kara told me, I am sorry for your loss." Kate nodded.

"I...she helped me remember who I was." Kate said wistfully.

"My mother, Lillian, told me she knew what I was" it was still difficult for her to talk about "and that she pushed me to science to protect me from what happened with my biological mother, when she was dying she told me to forget Lex and what she wanted and live my life the way I want to live it."

"So you and Kara?" Kate gestured to them causing Lena to chuckle.

"I wouldn't be here without her." Kara smiled at Lena who shook her head.

"I just expanded on the sun grenade that J'onn already had."

"I'm just gonna say cool, science is not my thing, that's Luke, but totally glad it worked and you're back." Kate took a sip, Kara chuckled. "But seriously, how are you doing?"

"It's a day by day thing." Kara said honestly, "Kelly has tips and things to help," Kara gestured to her fridge. "I already keep a journal."

"I've faced a few things with Kelly's help, we have a nice therapist." Lena added.

"I may need Kelly's number." Kate admitted.

"When you're ready." Kara nodded.

"Thanks, I should leave you guys to your night." she stood up suddenly.

"Stay." Lena reached out taking Kate by the forearm.

"We're just having more junk food and watching movies...no horror." Kara shook her head.

"I don't want to intrude."

"We're inviting you." Lena knew having Kate around would make Kara feel better.

"I...I have trouble being alone right now." Kara said softly.

"Is that why everybody kept looking at Lena when they were leaving?" Kate asked sitting back down.

"After the Phantom Zone, it just brought back the things that I was fighting against in the Void, the same things that I suffered with when I first came to earth." Kara admitted softly explaining. "Panic attacks, nightmares, flashbacks and sometimes I feel like it's not real."

"She's your hold," Kate nodded, she thought she'd had one of those with Sophie. "your comfort person."

"She is." Kara smiled at Lena.

"As you are for me." Lena smiled back at the blonde.

"With me coming out as Supergirl tonight I'm just a bit...nervous." Kara explained, Kate took her hand giving it a squeeze.

"They'll be a jerk or two but you've got this." Kate promised. "If you'd like I can go hang out with your mom."

"I know she can take care of herself she did during the fight, she helped Dreamer." Nia wasn't out as Dreamer.

"The blonde with the shotgun?" Kara nodded, Kate nodded back "Your mom's badass and hot." Lena chuckled Mon El had said the same of Alura, "If I was closer..." the fight like so many others had been caught on camera private and news

"You would have helped, I know." Kara assured her "I've worked on my own or with these guys for so long that I didn't even think to call the others."

"Listen I know you're not Batwoman anymore but if you have need for a suit." Lena offered. "My suits are better than Lex's Lexosuits."

"Red and blue are not my colors." Kate chuckled.

"Whatever color or colors you prefer." Lena promised.

"Brainy based my suit on the Kryptonite suit that Lena made me, it doesn't protect me from kryptonite but it has pants." Kara really had been the only super in a skirt. "Lena made me a new suit for this new earth, they worked together so the two suits are combined and I can activate the K suit aspect of it if I need it."

"It will automatically activate if it reads kryptonite." Lena pointed pointed out.

"That's good, because even with Lex gone I'm sure there's another asshat waiting to start shit." Kate frowned. "You call if you need help."

"Let me take measurements before we go to bed, I'll give it a few adjustments and it'll be ready in a couple hours."

"Sounds good." she agreed.

"Thank you, I know Alex will be happy someone's close to Eliza." Kara said.
