Chapter 14 – Pokemon Shipwreck

Some hours later, the storm had finally cleared as a group of sailors were now on another ship while accompanied by Officer Jenny.

"At first, we thought all the passengers had gotten safely off the ship, but we have just discovered that several more people are missing…" Officer Jenny announced while holding a bouquet of flowers.

"Ash, Misty, Brock, James, Jessie, Rhonda, Katie, Luthor, Jasmine, Yuki, Shirley, Mitchell, Nicholas, Rebecca, Marni, Avis, Damian, Jason… It makes all of us sad to think that these young Pokemon trainers have had their promising careers cut tragically short. May these flowers honor your memory."

She then tossed the bouquet of flowers into the air as she watched it fall straight into the water.

"A salute!" Officer Jenny declared as she and all of the sailors saluted in honor of the fallen heroes.

One of the sailors then performed the song "Taps" on his trumpet as the bouquet of flowers disappeared into the water and sank to the murky depths below.

Meanwhile, Rhonda was still lying unconscious on the floor as she slowly opened her eyes and was surprised to see the ethereal, angelic vision of her mother standing right before her while wearing an overflowing white dress and her fiery yet shaggy red mane framing her face perfectly.

"Rhonda, my dear, sweet child," Ramona called out softly to her while reaching her hand out to her. "It's all right, my little one. You're safe now."

"I'm sorry, Mama," Rhonda frowned sadly as she slowly got up and reached out to grab her mother's hand. "I'm so sorry I failed you."

"It's all right, my child. You're safe now. It's going to be all right," Ramona kept on smiling gently as she accepted her hand and gazed into her eyes lovingly.

"Rhonda, wake up!" a female voice yelled as Rhonda was suddenly jolted out of her slumber with someone shaking her roughly.

"Huh… where am I? Are we off the ship?" Rhonda grumbled as she slowly sat up.

"No, I'm afraid not," Katie replied sadly with a sigh.

"Hey, Ash. Answer me," Brock called out to Ash as Ash was also lying unconscious on the floor.

"Wake up, Ash. Wake up!" Misty urged.

"Pika-Pi!" Pikachu whined.

"What?" Ash moaned softly as he suddenly came to also.

"Hey, are you feeling okay, Ash?" Brock asked as he and the others appeared to be standing completely upside down, save for Rhonda and Ash.

"Pikachu," Pikachu squeaked.

"What? Oh, brother. What are you talking about, am I feeling okay?" Ash stammered in confusion. "You guys are the ones who are upside down."

"You're definitely the one upside down," Misty insisted.

"Huh…?" Ash gawked as he soon regained his bearings and it didn't take him too long to realize that his shirt was hanging from the corner of a table and he was stuck.

"Gah!" Rhonda screamed as she suddenly fell off the ceiling and landed face down on the ground. "Goddamn it…"

"Whoa!" Ash exclaimed.

"Look out!" Misty yelled as Ash also fell off the ceiling and landed right on top of Pikachu.

"Pika. Pikachu…" Pikachu squeaked weakly.

"Will someone tell me what in the world happened?" Ash groaned softly in a daze.

"Just take a look out the window," Misty suggested.

Ash then got up and rushed out to the window as he saw a school of fish swimming by.

"Huh? Fish swimming… This can't be… But that must mean that this ship has sunk!" Ash exclaimed in horror as he soon saw that the ship was stuck on a thin rock formation in the middle of an open wide chasm at the bottom of the sea.

Meanwhile, the sun was shining brightly as James and Jessie appear to be relaxing on a beautiful tropical island.

"To protect the world from devastation," Jessie sighed.

"To unite all peoples within our nation," James smiled contentedly.

"To denounce the evils of truth and love."

"To extend our reach to the stars above."

"Ah, Jessie."

"James with a perfect tan."

"There's nothing like a tropical vacation."

"The blue sea."

"The white sand."

"And the blazing sun above."

"Ah! The sun."

"Yes, that blazing sun, fiery and burning, and burning, burning…"

Just as he says this, he feels himself burning ablaze.

"Burning!"

Something's really burning!" Jessie exclaimed.

"You picked a bad time for a nap," Meowth interjected while glancing down at the pair.

"Huh?" James and Jessie then opened their eyes as they soon realize that one of the ovens was shooting flames right at their heads and they were dancing around in a panic with their heads burning.

Finally James and Jessie jumped underneath some broken pipes gushing up water as they used them to put the fires out of their heads. The pair then rubbed their heads sorely as they soon exited the kitchen.

"Why is everything upside down?" Jessie asked as she soon noticed that she and James were standing upside down on the ceiling.

"The ship capsized and sank while you two were sleeping," Meowth explained pithily.

"What?!" James and Jessie exclaimed.

"We've got to abandon ship immediately!" James cried in a frantic voice.

"I'm afraid it won't be so easy to get off while the ship's underwater," Meowth retorted with his arms crossed snidely.

"The ship's sunk! We're doomed!" James wailed fretfully while clutching his head.

"Calm down, James," Jessie chided him firmly while holding a Poke Ball in her hand. "I've already thought of a way to get us out of here."

She then tossed the Poke Ball into the air to summon her Pokemon.

"Ekans, go!" she yelled as Ekans then emerged from the ball.

"Ekans!" Ekans hissed.

"Ekans, acid," Jessie commanded. "Open a hole in the floor. We'll use it to escape."

"Wait! Don't do that!" Meowth yelled in an admonishing tone, immediately realizing that this was a bad idea.

Ekans then spat out a huge burst of acid from its mouth, creating a huge hole on the floor.

Just then a huge spout of water emerged from the hole as James and Jessie quickly covered up the hole in order to stop it from shooting up any more water.

"Didn't I tell you numbskulls we're sinking?" Meowth growled in a sarcastic voice. "You think we need another hole on this ship?"

Just then another burst of water exploded into the air as it then quickly filled up the area, causing Team Rocket to be stranded underwater.

"What are we supposed to do? The ship's leaking everywhere," Ash asked as he and the gang entered the stairway.

"We've got to keep calm," Misty urged everyone. "As long as there's air in here, it'll take time to fill up with water."

"Sure, but we better not waste any time escaping," Brock replied.

"I still don't know how in the hell we ain't all dead and floating 6 feet under water at this point," Luthor scoffed incredulously.

"Well, we can either go up or down," Misty pondered deeply with an akimbo as Ash crossed his arms while in deep thought.

"Well, if we're sinking, then up would definitely be better… and if the ship is flipped upside down…"

"The deck is below us and the ship's bottom is up above our heads," Misty informed him empathetically.

"Then we have to dive down to the deck," Ash replied determinedly.

"Pika, Pika," Pikachu nodded.

"But if we dive down to the deck and come across a dead end, then we're done for," Brock frowned worriedly.

Ash gasped as he imagined himself drowning underwater while trying to bust down the door leading out of the deck.

"So how are we supposed to know?" he groaned.

"Water's my specialty," Misty replied confidentially as she took out her Poke Ball and then tossed it into the air. "Go, Goldeen!"

Goldeen then emerged from the Poke Ball as it landed right in the water.

"Goldeen, Goldeen. Goldeen," it mumbled softly.

"Goldeen, dive down to the deck," Misty ordered. "If you find a way off the ship, bring something back from outside."

"Goldeen," Goldeen chirped as it then dove right into the water and disappeared.

Goldeen then dove down deep into the corridors and when it got to the end of the hallway, it soon realized that it was at a dead end. But just as it was about to turn around and go back the way it came, it soon ran into an unconscious Team Rocket floating underwater.

"What's taking Goldeen so long?" Ash groaned impatiently.

"I guess it can't find a way out," Misty frowned worriedly.

Just then James's lifeless and glassy face emerged right out of the water, prompting the gang to scream in terror.

"What the fuck?!" Rebecca exclaimed.

Moments later, Goldeen emerged with the rest of Team Rocket as it shoved it right onto the stairway right in front of them.

"Team Rocket?" Ash inquired quizzically.

"They look terrible," Brock commented.

"Are they even alive?" Katie asked.

"Does anybody know CPR?" Rhonda asked while glancing over at the adults expectantly.

Team Rocket then suddenly came to as they spat water right out of their mouths.

"Prepare. Prepare for trouble," Jessie groaned weakly.

"Yes, make it double," James wheezed.

It was then that their eyes flew open as they realized that the heroes were hovering right over them.

"Huh? You!"

Team Rocket growled angrily as they got up to their feet while getting into a fighting stance.

"We've got you brats cornered," Jessie growled.

"So you followed us all the way to the bottom of the sea," Brock growled back as he, Ash and the others save for Rebecca and her team took out their Poke Balls in preparation for battle.

"Ekans! Koffing!" James and Jessie chorused as they summoned their Pokemon.

"Ekans!"

"Koffing!"

"Here we go!" Ash yelled as he and the others also summoned their Pokemon.

"Bulbasaur!"

"Char! Char!"

"Squirtle! Squirt!"

"Geodude!"

"Golbat!"

"Charmeleon!"

"Wartotle!"

"Ivysaur!"

"Butterfree!"

"Growlithe!"

"Lucario!"

"Grovyle!"

"All right, a match!" Ash exclaimed excitedly as he was getting ready to battle Team Rocket.

Just then the ship began to rock and sway violently as it tipped over dangerously to the right, causing everyone to quickly slide over to the other side.

"The ship will roll if we don't do something quick!" Misty cried.

"Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Geodude, Koffing, Ekans, Charmeleon, Wartotle, Ivysaur, Golbat, Butterfree, Growlithe, to the other side of the ship!" Ash ordered.

The Pokemon then quickly rushed over to the other side, only for the ship to tilt dramatically to the left and for everyone else to slide over to the other side again.

"Damn it, this is not working!" Marni groaned.

"To the other side! The other side!" Ash hollered desperately.

The Pokemon then rushed back to the other side, with Geodude thumping and bouncing loudly right behind them.

"Geodude, come back to this side!" Brock yelled.

Geodude then tried to return to the rest of the group, but the ship kept on swaying and rocking back and forth unsteadily, so it had no choice but to return back to its original position.

"You guys, call back your Pokemon!" Misty demanded.

"But Team Rocket will beat us if we call our Pokemon back!" Ash protested stubbornly.

"He's right," Brock said.

"Who gives a fuck about that, Ash?! We're literally right about to plunge to an even bigger and murkier watery grave!" Rhonda shrieked at him furiously at the top of her lungs.

"We can't worry about that right now. We've got worse troubles," Misty rebuked them sternly.

"Yeah," Ash and Brock chorused as they aimed their Poke Balls at their Pokemon and summoned them back into their balls.

Rhonda and her friends also did the same, one by one.

"Call your Pokemon back too," Misty ordered Team Rocket. "What's more important, a Pokemon battle or your life?"

"She's right. Good point," Jessie sighed as she and James pointed their Poke Balls at their Pokemon and called them back into their Poke Balls.

The gang then breathed a sigh of relief when the ship finally seemed to stabilize itself for the time being.

"Okay, then, we all agree that there won't be any battles for now. Let's work together," Misty suggested.

She then started in shock as she noticed the heroes and Team Rocket growling and snarling at each other contemptuously.

"I'd rather eat my underpants," Luthor sneered.

"Come on, now. Shake hands!" Misty ordered.

The heroes and villains then stopped staring each other down and gawked at her confusedly before they turned back to face each other and shake hands as an offer of peace and goodwill.

"This is just a temporary truce until we get out of this mess," Jessie growled as she and Ash stared right at each other while still shaking hands.

"Better believe it," Ash growled back.

James and Brock also grunted at each other while shaking hands.

Meowth and Pikachu also shook hands, with Pikachu giving him a powerful jolt of electricity to boot.

"Pikachu," Misty frowned disapprovingly as Pikachu's ears drooped sadly.

"So It's agreed that we work together," Jessie said.

"Now we gotta think of some way to escape," Ash suggested.

"Leave it to me," Misty smirked proudly. "I forgot to mention I built my own St. Anne once."

"Huh?" Team Rocket gawked in confusion.

"Really?" Brock quipped.

"It was a model," Misty replied.

The gang then groaned in deep disappointment and dismay.

"Oh, great," Ash sighed.

"And here I thought you were some kind of engineering genius," Shirley frowned tersely.

"That's how I learned all about the structure of the St. Anne," Misty explained. "Since the way to the deck is blocked, we'll have to climb to the bottom of the ship. We can cut a hole in the hull. That's how we'll escape."

"Well, at least it's a plan anyway," Ash shrugged.

"And how exactly are we going to get up there?" Rhonda grumbled while rubbing her chin thoughtfully while glancing up at the ceiling above her.

"Over there!" Brock bellowed as he pointed to a set of stairs above them.

He then tossed out a Poke Ball into the air. "Onix, make a staircase!"

Onix then emerged from the Poke Ball as it grabbed onto the edge of the staircase, serving as some kind of makeshift ladder.

"Let's hurry!" Brock yelled as he and the others quickly climbed up on Onix's back and headed up to the next ascending floor.

"Right," Ash said.

"Good thinking, Brock!" Yuki yelled.

"Yeah, this is totally awesome!" Luthor cheered.

"I got to say, this was totally ingenious on his part," Avis admitted.

"We're going to need all of the tools we have at our disposal if we want to get out of here alive," Rebecca urged her.

"Let's move it or lose it," Misty barked petulantly as she turned around to face Team Rocket.

"Yes, ma'am," Jessie and James chorused as they followed the rest of the gang while climbing up on Onix's back.

A short time later, the gang was walking through a small and narrow corridor as it was completely pitch dark, making it virtually impossible to find their way through.

"The lights are out. I can't see anything," Brock griped.

"Let me handle it," Ash declared as he then took out his Poke Ball and aimed it at the ground. "Charmander, I choose you!"

Charmander then emerged from the Poke Ball.

"Char, Char!" he growled softly.

Charmander then used its flaming tail as some sort of flashlight, allowing the gang to find their way through the corridor.

"So where does this hall lead to?" Ash asked Misty curiously.

"This corridor leads straight to the engine room," Misty answered. "And that's where the hull is the thinnest. With a little luck, we should be able to cut our way through."

However, the minute that they entered the next room, they were shocked to find that the walkway had practically fallen apart with a large section missing and there was a large fire raging below them.

"Oh crap," Rhonda quipped.

"This is no good," Ash groaned worriedly. "It's impossible to cross to the engine room."

"Jessica?" James whispered while holding Jessie's hands.

"Yes, James?" Jessie asked.

"Whoever said beauty doesn't last must have been thinking of us," James answered.

"I'll always remember what a wonderful dresser you were," Jessie sobbed while cuddling closer to him.

"So will I," James sniffled.

"Will you two knock it off?" Misty snapped at them irately. "There's gotta be some way to get off this ship! There must be some angle we haven't thought of yet."

"Think, Ash," Ash muttered to himself as he tried to think up of an idea.

He then reached out his hand to Pikachu.

"Pikachu, give my brain a jump start," he said.

Pikachu then held Ash's hand as he gave him a powerful electric jolt, causing Ash to groan and writhe in pain. After a few moments, the electric jolt faded away as Ash felt himself greatly invigorated.

"Thanks. That's just what I needed."

"That's an excellent way to lose even more brain cells. Great job, Ash," Rhonda retorted with a sarcastic grin.

Ash then tossed a Poke Ball into the air as he prepared to summon one of his Pokemon.

"Bulbasaur, I choose you!"

Bulbasaur then emerged from the Poke Ball.

"Bulbasaur," it growled softly.

"All right, Bulbasaur, Vine Whip. Extend your whips to the other side," Ash instructed Bulbasaur.

"Bulba," Bulbasaur growled as it then retracted out its vines and extended them out to the other side, forming some sort of makeshift bridge.

"Good job," Ash beamed proudly.

"That was a great idea, Ash," Misty praised him.

"Yeah, we can cross the vines to the other side," Brock added.

"I'll even admit that's not exactly a half-bad idea," Rhonda quipped with a small smile of her own.

"Let's get out of here," Ash announced as he and the others began to walk on the vines slowly as they treaded carefully to the other side.

James then whimpered fearfully as he glanced down at the fires raging below him.

"I can't cross that inferno," he wailed in a terrified panic. "Jessie and Meowth, you go ahead. I'm staying here."

"Okay, big baby. Have fun getting roasted alive in this sunken ship," Luthor smirked tauntingly.

"James, James, James! Snap out of it!" Jessie scolded him sharply while slapping him repeatedly in the face to calm him down. "How long do you think you'd last on this side? Now let's go. We'll cross together."

"Oh, Jessie. Please, don't abandon me," James wept while clinging tightly to her in a desperate embrace.

"Don't worry. I won't leave you," Jessie reassured him calmly.

"Hey, Team Rocket!" Ash bellowed as Team Rocket turned around to face the heroes, who were already at the other side.

"Huh?"

"Bulbasaur," Bulbasaur growled softly.

"Wait! Don't leave us! Send back the vine!" Team Rocket yelled in desperate, panicked voice as they soon realized that they were all going to get left behind.

A short time later, Team Rocket had finally made it to the other side with everyone else as they were crouching on the floor on all fours while gasping and panting for breath.

"Now I know what a toasted marshmallow feels like," Meowth groaned.

"Hey, no time to take a break," Ash ordered them sternly.

"We've got to get off this ship quickly," Misty informed him urgently.

"Right," Ash nodded.

He then took out a Poke Ball and used it to summon a Poke Ball.

"Charmander, I choose you!" he yelled as Charmander emerged from the ball.

"Char!" Charmander cheered happily.

"Charmander, we need you to weld through the metal hull of the ship with your flame," Ash instructed him.

"Char, Char!" Charmander quipped obediently.

"So we're going to use him as a glorified flame torch?" Katie quipped with a raised eyebrow.

"Pretty much, I guess," Rhonda replied with a shrug.

Charmander then released a huge burst of flames as it used its fire breath ability to carve out a square-shaped hole in the metal hull.

"Wow, it's actually working!" Yuki gasped in amazement with wide eyes.

"Okay, listen up. Grab hold of a water Pokemon and swim to the surface," Misty instructed everybody.

"But what about us?" Rhonda protested irately with narrowed eyes.

"Dammit, I almost forgot!" Rebecca groaned while slapping herself on the forehead. "I just remembered that your Wayfinder devices have the ability to grant you scuba diving gear so that you would be able to breathe and move underwater!"

"Yeah, right. Got it, Ash?" Brock barked brisky.

"I'll be okay with my Squirtle," said Ash.

"Hey, don't forget about us. What are we supposed to do?" Jessie protested angrily.

"Just grab a water Pokemon," Misty replied firmly.

"Water Pokemon?!" Meowth danced around in a fit of panic and terror.

"It's almost burned through," Ash declared as Charmander finished out welding out a hole in the hull.

The moment the burned off section collapsed, a burst of water broke through as the entire room began to fill up with water.

"Are you crazy? What have you done?!" Meowth exclaimed in horror.

"Turn the dials on your Wayfinders until you find the right icon and then push the button," Marni quickly instructed Rhonda and her friends.

Team Legacy then nodded as they all did as they were told and the minute that they pushed the button on their Wayfinders, they were quickly equipped with the proper scuba diving gear, complete with oxygen tanks and breathing apparatuses.

"This feels kind of bulky and constrictive. I'm not sure I like this," Rhonda grimaced uncomfortably as she examined her new outfit.

"Well, you're just going to have to deal with it until we get back to the surface," Rebecca informed her brusquely as she and her colleagues also pushed the buttons on their Wayfinders and they were also equipped with scuba diving gear.

Charmander then ran for its life as it was trying to avoid getting swept away by the incoming wave advancing towards it.

"Return, Charmander!" Ash bellowed as he aimed his Poke Ball and summoned Charmander back into its ball.

Ash, Pikachu, Misty and Brock also tied their Water Pokemon to themselves with ropes.

"Now, let's go, Squirtle," Ash said.

"Squirtle, Squirt!" Squirtle chirped.

"Follow, Team Rocket!" Ash bellowed as he and the others jumped right into the waterfall and disappeared.

"Hold on! We haven't got the right Pokemon!" Jessie hollered shrilly.

Meanwhile, the heroes were now quickly swimming away from the sunken ship as they were heading up to the surface. As for Team Rocket, they were still stranded inside the sunken ship with no apparent means of escape.

"I hate water. Especially wet water," Meowth complained as he danced around in the water anxiously.

"We're in big trouble!" Jessie wailed desperately. "We can't escape without water Pokemon!"

Just then she heard a fit of maniacal laughter coming from James as she whipped around to face him with an incredulous face.

"You're laughing?!"

James continued laughing hysterically as he appeared not to hear anything that Jessie said.

"I don't see what's so funny, James," Jessie retorted quizzically.

"The poor guy must be cracking up just like the ship," Meowth interjected as he climbed onto Jessie's shoulder.

"You really made fun of me," James sneered in a crazed and maniacal voice. "But who's got the last laugh now? Well, a true genius is never appreciated until there's trouble. I knew we'd need this in a tight spot. Look!"

He then flashed the golden Poke Ball right in front of his friends.

"Hey," Meowth grinned excitedly.

"Could it be?" Jessie gushed hopefully.

"Magikarp! We're not worthy!" Jessie and Meowth chorused as they both knelt down to the ground and prostrated before James.

"Feast your eyes on the king of carp," James declared haughtily while still holding the golden Poke Ball. "Magikarp."

"You're the best, James," Jessie sniffled.

"I take back the jokes," Meowth vowed solemnly. "From now on, I'll treat you with the respect you deserve."

"Hmm… Better late than never," James smirked arrogantly as he then tossed the golden Poke Ball into the air. "It's time, Magikarp!"

Magikarp then emerged from the golden Poke Ball as it was flopping and splashing around in the water with a blank gaze.

"Lucky for us I bought this, even if it cost next month's salary," James bragged haughtily.

"Enough bragging. Just tie yourself on," Jessie growled impatiently.

"We got to escape!" Meowth pleaded.

James then tied himself, Jessie and Meowth to Magikarp as they were all set and ready to leave the ship.

"All right, Magikarp, let's escape!" James ordered.

However, Magikarp just stood there and did nothing as it continued to flop around aimlessly in the water.

"Don't tell me this fish can't swim," Jessie groaned exasperatedly.

"Forget swim. It can barely splash," Meowth quipped.

"We're doomed!" Jessie wailed.

In a matter of minutes, the room completely filled up with water as Team Rocket was now being swept away.

"Looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!"

The ship then completely tipped over and fell as it plummeted straight into the dark abyss.

TLSTLSTLSTLS

Meanwhile, the heroes had now finally reached the surface as they were floating on a square platform.

"I wonder why Team Rocket still hasn't surfaced," Ash quipped.

"Do you think they're still trapped inside?" Misty whispered softly with deep concern.

"For all we know, they probably drowned," Katie replied with a nonchalant shrug.

"Sucks for them," Shirley sighed in deep resignation and a shrug of her own.

"May God have mercy on their souls," Rhonda declared solemnly while crossing herself.

"Pikachu?" Pikachu chirped softly as he glanced up at Ash questioningly.

"There's nothing more we can do except try to find some dry land," Brock suggested pensively.

"Brock's right. There are only so many days we can survive out here in the middle of the ocean without food and a limited supply of water," Nicholas concurred. "And I highly doubt salt water is suitable to drink anyway."

"Let's see…" Ash mused as he glanced around his surroundings. "Nothing but ocean in every direction, and no way to tell which direction to go."

"It would also really help if any of us had a compass on hand," Avis suggested.

"Hmmm… you may be on to something here, Avis," Marni mumbled pensively with a raised eyebrow.

"I remember the story of Noah, who, when he had to find dry land, sent a bird to find it and return with a branch," Brock informed everyone.

"You're seriously referencing a biblical story here?" Rhonda retorted with a surprised and quizzical eyebrow.

"What a great idea. We're going to do the same thing as Noah," Ash replied with an encouraging smile.

Ash then took out his Poke Ball and then tossed it into the air.

"Pidgeotto, I choose you!"

Pidgeotto then emerged from the Poke Ball as it swooped and glided into the air.

"Pidgeotto, bring us back whatever you find!" Ash hollered at Pidgeotto.

Pidgeotto then let out a loud squawk as it quickly flew away.

"We're counting on you, Pidgeotto," Ash whispered softly.

"Pikachu," Pikachu chirped softly.

Pidgeotto was gliding smoothly in the air in search of dry land as it soon noticed Magikarp carrying an unconscious Team Rocket. It wasn't long before Pidgeotto helped Magikarp bring Team Rocket back to the rest of the group.

A short time later, Team Rocket was lying unconscious on the floating platform as the heroes were staring at them worriedly.

"They weren't able to make it," Misty sighed sadly.

"Not even Team Rocket deserved this," Ash frowned regretfully.

"Yeah," Brock sighed. "I guess the only decent thing to do is to give them a traditional burial at sea."

"That's right," Ash agreed as everyone clasped their hands in prayer while bowing their heads respectfully. "It's our duty, even if they were our enemies."

"Have mercy on them, our Lord, and may you accept them into your heavenly kingdom," Rhonda declared solemnly as Katie began to sing and wail out loud in Hebrew.

Ash, Misty and Brock then proceeded to push Team Rocket off the platform as they planned to shove them into the water and let their bodies sink to the bottom of the sea. However, just as they were about to push them into the water, Team Rocket suddenly jolted wide awake with Meowth accidentally being shoved right into the water.

"Argh! Zombies!" the heroes screamed in horror.

"Who are you calling zombies?" James snarled angrily.

"We are not zombies," Jessie growled irritably.

"Dude, how in the fucking hell ARE YOU NOT DEAD?!" Luthor exclaimed shrilly with his arms flailing about wildly. "You guys were at the bottom of the freaking sea, dead ass! Trapped inside a sunken ship stuck in the middle of a freaking chasm with absolutely no way to escape…!"

"Okay, okay, we get it already, Luthor!" Shirley snapped shrilly with an eye roll.

"Somebody help! My fur's getting wet!" Meowth pleaded frantically as he was fighting to stay afloat in the water as he scrambled to the platform and climbed onto it.

TLSTLSTLSTLS

Several days passed as the gang were still stranded out in the middle of the open ocean. As more time passed and there seemed to be no end in sight, everyone grew even more weak and frail as they were increasingly overcome with hunger, thirst and exhaustion.

"I'm so hungry," Ash whined while clutching his stomach.

"It seems like forever since we last ate," Brock groaned.

"If I'd known I was going to be starving, I would've stuffed my face full when I was on the St. Anne!" Misty wailed shrilly at the top of her lungs.

"Oh, I want some food," James whined.

"Stop it," Jessie hissed at him sharply.

"Yeah, that whining only makes you feel even hungrier," Meowth whimpered weakly.

The gang then stared at the Magikarp as they all began to fantasize about what kind of meals they could make out of it.

"Got to eat something, like filleted carp," Ash moaned hungrily.

"Or fried carp," Buck sighed dreamily.

"Fresh, marinated carp," Jessie licked her lips as she salivated over the Magikarp.

"Carp flambé," James gushed.

"Carp sushi…" Rhonda groaned with a deep, heavy moan while imagining herself feasting on some delicious sushi.

The heroes then groaned and panted deeply with desperate hunger on their faces as they continued to stare at the Magikarp greedily.

"That's it! Dinner is now served!" Meowth declared with his mouth slobbering as he then lunged at the Magikarp and bit on it.

However, the moment he did so, he screamed and hollered his mouth in pain as his teeth shattered into pieces.

"I wouldn't try that again if I was you," Misty admonished him. "Check your Pokedex 'cause Magikarp is just scales and bones."

"Bones? Yuck!" Rhonda stuck out her tongue in disgust.

"I wish you'd told me that sooner," Meowth whimpered softly in pain.

"Ugh! Not only can this fish not swim, it's not even good for eating!" James growled in frustration with his fists shaking violently.

"See, I told you buying it was stupid!" Jessie snarled at him viciously.

"You good for nothing fish!" James snarled furiously, finally having had enough of the useless deadweight Pokemon. "I don't want to be your master!"

He then swung his foot back as he kicked Magikarp straight into the water, causing it to thrash and flail around in the water.

"Good riddance, Magikarp."

"That fish was totally gay and dumb anyway," Luthor retorted snidely with his arms crossed.

"I feel sorry for it," Misty frowned sadly.

Just then a large bright white light enveloped Magikarp as it quickly shot up into the air before exploding and fizzling out; when the light eventually faded away, the heroes soon realized that it had now transformed into Gyarados!

"What is that?" James stammered in shock and fear.

"Now you've done it. Magikarp has evolved into Gyarados!" Misty exclaimed in horror.

"What? I thought it was just some useless and dumb old fish. Now y'all telling me that it's a crazy and homicidal water dragon?!" Luthor gawked in shock and disbelief.

"Gyarados? I miss Magikarp!" Jessie wailed.

Ash then took out his Pokedex in order to get the latest reading on this newest Pokemon.

"Gyarados. This Pokemon has a vicious temperament, so use extreme caution. Its fangs can crush stones and its scales are harder than steel."

"That's awfully reassuring," Katie stammered in a nervous and trembling voice.

"I'm James, your master. Obey me," James declared in an authoritative voice.

"This clown right here… Just a few minutes ago, he was like all, 'I don't want to be your master!' And now that it's a scary looking dragon monster, now all of a sudden he wants it to bow down to him and call him master?" Luthor cackled hysterically and derisively at Katie while shaking his head incredulously.

Gyarados then roared at him furiously as James practically cowered and recoiled at its mighty wrath.

"Sissy," Luthor muttered underneath his breath.

"Dimwit! If you're the master, don't act like you're scared of it!" Jessie chastised him sharply.

"But I am scared," James whined.

"Goldeen! Starmie! Staryu!" Misty yelled as she tossed all three Poke Balls into the air and summoned her Poke Ball.

"How will you battle it?" Brock asked him quizzically.

"Are you seriously going to use water Pokemon to battle another water Pokemon?" Katie retorted incredulously with a pointed glare.

"My strategy is… run away!" Misty yelled at the top of her lungs

"That works," Luthor shrugged anxiously.

Misty then tied her water Pokemon to the floating platform and had them haul them away from the raging Gyarados as quickly as possible.

"Heave-ho! Heave-ho! Heave-ho!" the gang hollered as they all used long sticks as makeshift paddling oars.

The Gyarados continued to pursue the heroes hotly as they tried to paddle and swim away as fast as they possibly could, but to no avail as the Gyarados had no trouble keeping up with them in spite of its massive size.

"Faster, Faster!"

Then the Gyarados suddenly stopped as it began roaring and howling loudly.

"What's it doing?" Ash asked.

"It just evolved. Maybe it's tired out," Brock surmised.

"We made it!" James and Jessie cheered as they embraced each other happily.

"Unless the stories are true," Misty murmured softly to herself while staring at the Gyarados suspiciously.

"What are you talking about, Misty?" Ash asked.

"What stories?" Rhonda quipped curiously.

"Sailors tell terrible stories about the Gyarados. I think this might be…" Misty explained as the skies suddenly grew dark and ominously stormy. "It may be Dragon Rage."

"Dragon Rage?!" everyone chorused in horror and disbelief.

Gyarados then let out a thundering roar as it summoned even more Gyarados, prompting the heroes to scream and yell out in terror.

"Help! We're Gyarados bait!" James whimpered while clinging to Jessie tightly.

"We're doomed," Meowth whimpered softly.

"So you're telling me that we barely escaped a sunken ship from the bottom of the ocean with our very lives only to get totally wrecked by a bunch of freaking Gyarados?! You have really got to be shitting me!" Rhonda exclaimed indignantly.

"Hey, what are they doing?" Ash asked as he noticed that the Gyarados were beginning to move around in a gradual and steady circle.

"Dragon Rage. Gyarados's ultimate attack," Misty explained solemnly.

Then as the Gyarados kept on circling in the ocean, they started to spin and whirl around so rapidly that it ended up creating a massive water cyclone that was now heading straight for everyone.

"Here it comes!" everyone chorused.

"Let's go!" Brock yelled.

"No one's ever gotten away from Dragon Rage!" Misty cried.

"Whoa, this is it!" Ash bellowed.

It wasn't long before the water cyclone smashed right into the floating platform and sucked them all up as they were now spinning and rotating wildly in the air, with many of them holding on to each other tightly.

"Hey, Brock! Misty! Pikachu! Whatever happens, don't let go!" Ash bellowed.

However, the overwhelming and powerful force of the wind gusts proved to be too strong as Ash eventually lost his grip on his friends and they were pulled even further into the water cyclone.

"NOOOOOOOOOOO!" Rhonda bellowed as she and her friends were now spinning and tumbling wildly in the air as the high force winds roared above them.

Then the last thing she remembered was being catapulted straight into the dark and stormy air before plunging straight down to the sandy ground and everything went black.
