Interlude: Teresa's choice.

The apartment has been silent since Opal has left for Pandora. Their place of living had always been crammed and felt like a tomb sometimes with how little it was, and Teresa often found that if she stayed inside too long, the walls would close in on her.

But when Opal was there, at least she had someone to make her feel better and not feel so lonely in this overcrowded world.

What Teresa wouldn't have given to go with her friend, to have the possibility to breathe fresh air even with a mask, to be able to walk in green fields...

Oh, she wishes she had been able to. But she is fated to be stuck here, on this crowded, dying planet.

Teresa let's out a sigh as she walks in the overcrowded streets, people bumping into her as she walks towards the bar where she is meeting her coworkers for drinks.

Michael waves at her, the rest of the group already drinking and screaming at each other. "Come on, drink!"

Despite her somber mood, the evening is merry and soon becomes blurry, one drink after another pouring down Teresa's throat.

The next morning, a groan leaves her lips, dryheaving as she feels her stomach turn. Something has woken her up. But what ? It is only then that she hears the banging on the front door. "Teresa Sanders, are you there?!"

Teresa groans as she stumbles out her bed. She wrenches open the door, squinting at the person in front of her. "Can i help you?!" She snaps, eyes angrily looking at the people before her.

The woman next to the man that had been banging ln her door gives her a small smile. "Teresa Sanders?" Said girl nods, eyebrows raising in question. "We are from the RDA. Since you are a scientist, and Pandora needs them, we have a proposition for you."

The humming of the machine around her gives her a sense of calmness. The mask on her face to make her breathe makes her lightheaded, and before she closes her eyes for the next six years, she can only think one thing.

I am coming Opal. Wait for me.
