Chapter 4
"Well, well..." A woman with a full body figure grinned as she saw two people walking up to her table at the outdoor cafe. "I thought you two weren't going to show up."
The man that stood in front of her was of average height, wearing a dark suit with a gray vest, white shirt and a large, black coat over his shoulders. His white hair was spiked back and on his face was a pair of black shades. "Oboro, I'm surprised you'd meet with us in France so openly."
Oboro just smirked at him. "Really, Edwin," she saw his companion tense up and corrected herself, "Sorry, Lord Black." The female next to him calmed down. "And you, Ingrid, it's been far too long since we last saw each other. Your breasts grew quite a bit since we last met."
Ingrid, a dark skinned woman with breasts even larger than Yasaka's breasts, pink hair and golden eyes narrowed her eyes at Oboro. She was wearing a white shirt that practically wrapped around her breasts while allowing her navel to peek out from the bottom of her shirt. She had an open vest over her shoulders and was wearing tight pants that looked practically painted on and made it impossible to tell if she was wearing underwear or not under them. "And the last time I saw you, you weren't a walking pile of machinery. Tell me, does your new body still have the scar from where Asagi ripped your heart out and cut your head off?"
Oboro hissed at that and rubbed her neck, where there was some discoloration where Asagi's sword had cut her head off. "The only reason you even said that was because you were there when I was reborn."
"I'm not the one who had to have a cyborg body created just to come back to life." Ingrid said coolly as Oboro stood up and started to reach for a weapon.
"Ladies," Edwin Black spoke up and both Oboro and Ingrid calmed down and sat down, "thank you. Now then, I believe that you got the same letter than I did."
"To go to Vegas in a month?" Oboro asked and Black nodded. "Yeah, I did. There wasn't a lot of information on it, but a chance to get back at our enemies, run wild and not have that pesky grand alliance breathing down our necks? That sounds like a dream." A savage grin came to her face as she chuckled. "So long as I can kill a few people, what do I care?"
"I have one question," Ingrid looked around, "why did you have us meet you in Paris?"
"Simple," Oboro grinned at her, "Paris has some of the best food in the world. Better than most places I've been at."
"Good point." Edwin Black said with a nod. "So, Oboro, I do hope that you won't try to kill Asagi out of revenge." Oboro growled and Black's eyes flashed for a moment. When she calmed down, he nodded. "Good. I would hate to have to kill you when you could have fun with anyone else, but Asagi is mine."
"Yeah, yeah," Oboro waved her hand dismissively. "You can do what you want to her, but can I at least break a limb or a few of her ribs?"
"Well," Edwin paused and thought about it, "she doesn't need to walk to be of use to me." Oboro grinned and Edwin continued on. "Fine, but only if you can't capture her in any other way. The rest of those Taimanin are yours to do with as you want."
"We also got instructions to not harm the person who hired them." Ingrid said calmly. "Something about one of our backers needing her power for something."
"Fine, fine, but everyone else is fair game." Oboro said with a grin. "And if they aren't, I'll kill our backers."
"Fair enough." Edwin said as a waitress in an outfit that covered her from head to toe came over and took their orders. "...Remember when women could wear miniskirts in this town?"
"That's what happens when you have people who don't assimilate to the dominant culture." Oboro said with a shrug. "By the way, why do you want Asagi?" Edwin gave her a curious look. "If I can't kill her out of revenge, at least let me know why."
"Fine. A few months after you were killed, her and her sister were hired to deal with a small problem, which happened to be some sort of body snatching creature." Edwin said as he remembered what happened. "During the event, I managed to get a sip of both Asagi and her sister, Sakura and..." He put his shades on and grinned, his teeth getting sharp as he remembered the flavor. "Her blood has what I have been looking for all this time."
"You mean..?" Ingrid gave him a stunned look. "She's the woman of prophecy?"
Edwin Black chuckled and nodded. "Any child that the two of us have will have enough power to smash the current system and create a new one in my image."
"Feh," Oboro sneered at that. "Have fun with making a brat with her then."
"Can't you?" Ingrid asked and Oboro growled.
"Most of my internal organs are mechanical. Other than my brain and a few other parts of me, everything is artificial. Either metal or fake flesh." She pinched her arm. "It might look real, but it's more silicone than anything else."
"Oh, so you're just a living sex doll?" Ingrid smirked and Oboro growled in anger. "Even your womb?"
"This body doesn't have that organ." Oboro said in annoyance.
"Ladies," Edwin said calmly as they both turned away from each other in a huff. "You two can work out your differences in the bedroom later if it's that bad."
"No thanks." They both said at the same time.
"While I can feel stuff and perform the acts, the pleasure isn't there." Oboro told him. "The only thing that brings me joy is killing these days."
"And I'm not into a piles of scrap metal." Ingrid said while Oboro growled at her.

Meanwhile...
"I'm surprised you called me, Miss Meiou." Nabiki said as she opened the door to her condo.
"And I'm surprised you're living on Earth right now instead of in Makai." Setsuna, in a business suit, said as she walked in and nodded to Nabiki, who closed the door after her. "Then again, I suppose it's more convenient for you this way?" She said as she looked at Ai and Saito, who was sleeping in the other girl's arms. "I'm sorry, I haven't been introduced to you yet."
"Ai Kusago." Ai said and Setsuna nodded and looked at Nabiki.
"Am I to assume that she'll be helping police Las Vegas?" Setsuna asked and Nabiki nodded as the two went to the table and sat down. "The reason I called you is simple, I need to ask you for some information."
Nabiki nodded, wondering what Setsuna was going to ask of her. "Depends on what you need."
Setsuna had a troubled look on her face and she sighed. "How much of the future do you know?"
"Hmm, other than the fact that we avoided several near apocalypses when I was still in high school, I try not to look into the future too often." Nabiki admitted. "I know that you're the Guardian of the Gates of Time, but not much else, I'm afraid."
"Very well," Setsuna nodded, "then allow me to get you up to speed. In the coming years, a catastrophic event is going to happen, one that causes the planet to freeze over."
"A new ice age?" Nabiki asked and grimaced. "I blame Ranma, it's not supposed to happen for another five hundred years, but he's been responsible for global weather patterns changing."
Setsuna found herself smirking slightly. "I regret to inform you that it's not your husband's fault. The freezing is far too profound and rapid to be a natural occurrence. Of the seven billion people that live on the planet now, less than one billion will survive." Both Nabiki and Ai stared in absolute shock, not even trying to hide it. "In order to save what life remained on the planet, Usagi would have to use the Ginzuishou to preserve life. After nearly a thousand years, the ice would start to disappear and Usagi would establish a new world government called Crystal Tokyo."
Nabiki grimaced, knowing such a thing would never fly in many parts of the world. "Let me guess, most of the people who survived where in Japan?"
"Actually, no," Setsuna shook her head. "People living in Norway, Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Canada, Russia, Alaska and the Northern Great Plains of the United States survived with relatively small causalities."
"Of course the places that are used to getting negative forty in winter wouldn't be bothered by it." Nabiki grumbled about stupidly hardy people who were used to unlivable conditions. "That or the fact that there's not a ton of people in most of those areas to begin with." She shrugged. "I doubt stopping a global catastrophe is something that I can do, but..." Her eyes glowed as her Balance Break activated and screens filled the room. "The first thing I need to know is does this Great Freeze happen in every timeline?"
"NO."
Setsuna stared in surprise. "What do you mean, no?"
"THE POSSIBILITY OF A GLOBAL CATASTROPHE THAT HAS BEEN DESCRIBED CAN ONLY BE DONE IF THE LEYLINES OF THE PLANET ARE BADLY DAMAGED, A GIANT METEOR HITS THE EARTH OR THE SUN SHUTS OFF."
Setsuna frowned softly. "That's about what I was able to figure out. The problem is, whenever I would look into the Time Gates, any images of the event get cloudy."
"POSSIBILITY OF OUTSIDE INTERFERENCE IS NEAR NINETY PERCENT."
"I figured as much." Setsuna grumbled. "Can you confirm for me, in the timelines where this doesn't happen, do the Senshi exist?"
"SOME DO, YES."
Nabiki tapped her chin. "So the question remains, what causes it?"
"ERROR. ERROR. ANTI-SCRYING MEASURES INVOLVED, CANNOT SEE THE CAUSE AT THE CURRENT LEVEL. PLEASE MASTER YOUR SACRED GEAR TO SEE THROUGH."
Nabiki sighed and nodded as she dismissed her Balance Break. "And that's what you'll get."
"No," Setsuna shook her head, "that's more than enough. While I do want Crystal Tokyo to happen, especially since people from that time have come to the present day," she paused at the incredulous look Nabiki gave her, "believe me, I don't wish for people to time travel either, but..."
"Are you worried about creating a paradox or something?" Nabiki asked and Setsuna nodded. "Well... You do know that we operate on multiverse theory for time travel, right?"
Setsuna cupped her chin in thought. "...That explains a lot of stuff, actually." She closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths and then opened her eyes to look at Nabiki. "I would like to enter a formal contract with you, beyond just working in Vegas." Nabiki raised an eyebrow and nodded. "I have worked with Devils before, even entered into contracts with them, but this is different."
"You want me to stop the Great Freeze?" Nabiki asked and Setsuna nodded. "Yeah, I don't want that to happen either. Shall we discuss terms?"
"Of course." Setsuna nodded to her. "The safety of the other Senshi and the Princess and their children and spouses are paramount."
"I can only guarantee that I won't willingly throw them into a hopeless situation." Nabiki said and shook her head. "You know that what's going to happen in Vegas is likely going to violate this contract, right?"
Setsuna closed her eyes and nodded. "I know, I've looked into it. The reason that I offered to help you is because I want to protect them. Especially the Princess."
Nabiki pursed her lips and nodded. "If you do not hold what happens in Vegas against me, then I'll agree to the terms. Beyond saving humanity, what else would I get?"
Setsuna gave Nabiki a small smile. "How about the fact that the services of the strongest magical girls will be at your beck and call?"
"Well..." Nabiki smiled back and nodded. "I can't argue against that."
"So does that mean that I've been replaced?" Ai asked and both Setsuna and Nabiki gave her an amused look. "...What?"
"Nah, I'll keep you as my personal bed warmer." Nabiki waved her hand dismissively. "Anyway, I think we're in agreement, Setsuna. I'll get an actual contract written up in a few days."
The two nodded and shook hands.
