Link approached Olly, who was reading in his room. Master Hand put it as a rule that, unless it was past curfew, they had to keep the doors open. Olly had large reading glasses on, and seemed very interested in the book. Link waved.
Link: "Ahem."
Olly looked up from his page.
Olly: "Oh! Ah! Link! Sorry! You uh...got me in the middle of something!"
Olly quickly removed his glasses and tucked them away into his folds.
Olly: "What is it?"
Link explained how Mario told him that he invited Olly there to help him relax. Olly simply nodded. Link mentioned that he knows something he does for fun, and would be willing to show it to Olly if he was interested.
Olly: "I see...So Mario think I'm stressed? I guess that makes sense. He must have saw that once..."
Link: "'That?'"
Olly's face turned red.
Olly: "Uh! It's nothing. What do you have in mind?"
Link mentioned having to go back to Hyrule, or finding a good hill in Smash. Olly thought for a moment.
Olly: "Well, I know a pretty good hill. It's less of a hill and more like a mountain, but it's in the Mushroom Kingdom..."
Link: "That works."
Olly: "But we should go to breakfast first. If you want to know me better, I suggest we talk over food. Is that alright?"
Link: "Yep."
Olly started off down the hall, Link following behind. Olly was fast enough that Link had no need to walk, and could jog after him like he usually did. Olly tucked the book away somewhere and opened the door to leave.
Olly: "You can go on ahead; I'll follow you. I haven't gotten enough time to learn the layout here yet."
Link started off ahead, running to see if Olly could keep up with him. Olly had pretty good speed, getting a little left behind but catching up quickly. Link entered the cafeteria. Olly entered after him.
Olly: "Oh! It's so busy! Can we find somewhere to sit? I don't want you entertaining me to hog your whole day..."
Link: "I know a good spot."
Link walked over to a mostly empty table. Sora was sitting there already, and Dimentio next to him. They both had food already. Sora waved to Link.
Sora: "Hey! It's Link!"
Dimentio: "Oh. You."
Olly: "Is something wrong, Dimentio? You usually sound quite...uh...Charming isn't the right word for this..."
Dimentio: "I'm alright, really! But my mask was touched last night! Somebody is out to get me, I know it! But they can't hide forever! I will reveal the truth behind this and catch them red-handed!"
Sora stayed silent.
Olly: "I'm sure you're fine, Dimentio. Although, I do get your concern. Your family seems to be the target of some dangerous people and karma."
Dimentio: "And that is why I need to find whoever touched my mask! I won't let any dangerous warriors kill me again!"
Olly: "Alright...I think you may be overreacting, but okay..."
Sora: "You're...not going to keep with that threat you made to me yesterday, are you?"
Dimentio: "Why, of course I am! My mask is personal! If it were to be stolen or broken...I would not be able to show my face again!"
Olly: "Maybe we should sit somewhere else. I learned it's best to avoid Dimentio while he's upset. We can come back once he's calmed down. He has a slow temper, so it may take a while."
Link nodded.
Olly: "I'm glad we can see eye-to-eye. Plus, I don't want to ruin any chance of you two becoming friends over time. Let's try this table."
Olly flew to the table next to them, where Pac, Mega Man, Sonic, and somebody else were sitting. Link didn't recognize him as a fighter or one of the new arrivals.
Olly: "Oh, Zokket! I didn't expect to see you here."
Olly: "...What are you doing here?"
Zokket: "Oh, I came to watch. But that ominous floating hand told me that battles were off for today because a leak was found in the lobby. So I just have to stay here until I can leave again. I guess that's what I get for letting my mother buy the tickets. She has me leaving at the end of the week..."
Olly: "Oh, that's a bit sad. But it seems like you've made friends already?"
Zokket: "...They came over and started talking to me. I think they want to be friends, but I have no idea how to do that anymore."
Sonic: "You don't even have to do anything, really."
Pac: "Yeah, I usually just talk to people and then boom. Instant friendship."
Olly: "Oh, well at least you're trying. I haven't seen you since the battle in Demopolis. How have you been?"
Zokket: "Fine. I've been trying to find the spirit to speak to Cozette again. It's been hard. I think Reclusa stripped away my emotions the longer I was under his influence. I was hoping speaking to her might help me feel something again. But there was nothing..."
Olly: "It might take some time. Just don't rush things and I think you should be fine."
Zokket: "Yes, I know. How have you been, out of general curiosity?"
Olly sat at the table.
Olly: "Well, apparently Mario thinks I'm stressed. It means he must have saw that...So Link and I were going to get to know each other today. And he was going to take me to do something fun afterwards. Ooh, Link, I hope I'm not dragging his on..."
Link shook his head.
Olly: "Okay, good. I hope I'm not annoying you with all this talking. I just find it nice to catch up with old friends."
Pac: "Hey! Sleep well?"
Olly: "Yeah...I guess I did."
Mega Man: "Hey, Link! Apparently Zokket can create electricity with his hands! How cool is that?"
Zokket: "Ah, well, it's not that impressive. Just a little trick Reclusa taught me."
Link: "Who's that?"
Zokket: "Oh...Reclusa is a being made of Glohm. He uses negative emotions as energy. He mind washed me and made me revive him. Thankfully, Mario and Luigi broke me from his control and stopped Reclusa. Or...so I thought. It turns out he's come back. I...don't know where he's hiding right now."
Olly: "Ooh, that's not good. I hope Mario and Luigi can stop him again! Do you think he found out how Dimentio cheated death?"
Zokket: "...Huh? Dimentio cheated death? How come I didn't hear about this?"
Olly: "Anyway...Link, tell me a bit about yourself."
Link: "Well..."
Olly listened to him talk a bit, a shocked expression coming to his and Zokket's faces when he finished. They sat I silence for a moment before one of them spoke again.
Olly: "Wow...That's a lot. Sounds like you had a rough life. Probably worse than mine."
Zokket: "Hm...Things like this remind me that I haven't had the worst luck. How is Hyrule now?"
Link mentioned the clean-up project, and Hudson Construction's repairs to Hyrule.
Olly: "I see! So they're working on fixing the leftover damage? It's nice that all of Hyrule is pitching in to help their home."
Pac, Sonic, and Mega Man had finished eating, so they got up to leave. They waved as they left, each heading off a different direction.
Olly: "It makes me wonder how Demopolis is holding up after the Battle of Fate left it in ruins."
Zokket: "I'm sure they're fine. According to a letter I received from my mother, they're looking to elect a new king. Yes, elect. They want to make sure he's worthy of the position this time. Darethend was far too dangerous. They want somebody who won't get greedy for power."
Olly: "I understand. Even I fell victim to the power and authority of a king once. You'll need to get somebody who won't snap from too much pressure as well."
Zokket: "Mother told me they have somebody in mind already, but didn't tell me who it was. I guess we'll have to wait and-Is that why she wanted me out of the house? As to not ruin the surprise? Ah, mother can outsmart even me sometimes. Drat."
Olly laughed.
Olly: "She is your parent. The Origami Craftsman knew how to beat me, and he wasn't even there! He gave Olivia a magical tip on how to beat me, and it actually worked, believe it or not. Parents always seem to know your weaknesses. At least, mine does."
Zokket: "I haven't told my mother about Reclusa or Concordia yet. I have no desire to worry her further. She was already torn up enough when I set out for Concordia on my own."
Olly: "Oh? My father was worried sick when I became a villain. His heart was in the right place, and I managed to be the worst son ever. I apologized, but I still can't properly look him in the face. It's not what he's done that's the issue, it's what I'd done. Can he ever fully forgive me for being so awful?"
Zokket: "I'm sure he has already. If he didn't care for you, he wouldn't have helped Olivia stop you. You should think about that, at least."
Olly: "I suppose you're right."
Olly: "...Oh wait! I haven't eaten breakfast yet! Aah!"
