Chapter 12

As the days continued on, Haruka found herself having a day off as she drove around in a rental car. It wasn't as good as the cars she was used to driving around in Japan, but she found that she didn't need it to be.

"I'm glad that we both have today off." Michiru smiled as she rode with Haruka. "It's been awhile since we went for a ride."

Haruka smirked at her lover. "How about we head out of the city?"

"It's mostly desert out there." Michiru pointed out and Haruka nodded. "What are you thinking?"

"I'm thinking I want to do donuts in the desert and leave those cool driving patterns that I've seen in the movies." Haruka said with a laugh and Michiru shook her head. "No good?"

Michiru opened her mouth and then smiled and leaned over, kissing Haruka on the cheek. "Do it." She adjusted her seat belt and settled in. "Just don't ruin the car."

Haruka laughed and shifted gears in the car before driving off out of the city.

Walking around on one of her days off, Makoto walked with a bag of groceries in her hand. "Can't wait to get back." She said to herself as she thought about some of the food she could make for the others. It wasn't like any of them were hurting for food, but Makoto always did like cooking. "Hmm, now that I think about it, what ever happened to that cute okonomiyaki chef? He was a great cook." A billboard talking about taking care of one's pets caught Makoto's eye and she smiled at how cute the animals in the picture were. Privately, she hated the fact that she couldn't have a pet. "Heck, just finding a guy that could handle what I go through on a constant basis would be nice."

Turning a corner, Makoto hummed to herself as an image of Nabiki entered her mind for some reason. "...Wait, if she's a Devil and married and has a child... Maybe I shouldn't look just at human males?" Her green eyes widened as she thought about it. "Yeah! Why not? If there can be Devils who aren't evil, there has to be some non-humans males out there that wouldn't mind settling down and helping me out and could handle my crazy life."

The only problem was finding a guy who could handle her crazy life. "Oh well, I'm sure that I've got, ooof!" Makoto found herself taking a few steps backwards as someone ran into her.

"Oh darn it!" A cute voice said and Makoto looked at a younger-looking girl who happened to be sitting on the sidewalk, rubbing her butt. "I knew I should have made a left turn at the Aria Express!" The girl, who was wearing a pink mini-dress with a zipper in the middle that went from her breasts to her crotch and was wearing red boots that went from her feet to her knees and Makoto thought she saw a hint of pink underwear, got up and Makoto was a bit surprised to see that the girl wasn't as short as she first thought. Makoto estimated that the girl was about fourteen centimeters shorter than she was, which was taller than some girls she had met in her life. The girl's golden eyes and pointed ears were unusual, but not the weirdest things she had seen in Las Vegas. Some of the professional wrestlers that had been in town a few days ago had looked weirder.

"Hey," Makoto smiled at the girl, who blinked as she dusted herself off. "Do you need some help?"

"Ah, no..." The girl said slowly before blinking. "Oh goodness, I should introduce myself. My name is Saya." She bowed, her pink hair shifting in the breeze. "It's my first time in Las Vegas, so I'm a bit lost."

"I feel that." Makoto laughed softly. "My name's Makoto Kino."

Saya straightened up and grinned at Makoto. "You're pretty."

"Ah, thanks." Makoto laughed and rubbed the back of her head. "So, Saya, what brings you to Las Vegas? I can help if you need it."

"Well," Saya dug her toe into the ground playfully. "I'm here to meet with my senpai, oh!" Her eyes widened and she put a hand over her mouth. "I'm sorry, when I say senpai, I mean..." She paused as Makoto shook her head. "Huh?"

"I'm from Japan, I know what the word means." Makoto winked at the girl, who let out a nervous laugh.

"Oh good," Saya let out a sigh of relief as she realized that the person in front of her knew what she was talking about. "My senpai's really strong and taught me how to stand up for myself." There were practical stars in her eyes as she clasped her hands in front of her. "She's sometimes mean, but I think that's just because she's worried about me." Saya grinned. "I wouldn't have learned martial arts without her."

Makoto's eyes gleamed upon hearing that. "Oh? You're a martial artist?" Saya nodded. "So am I. Would you like to spar some time?"

"If we meet up again, sure." Saya said with a wink. "Anyway, I have her address, so I just need to find her, that's all." She pulled out a sheet of paper and Makoto looked at it and realized where Saya was trying to get to.

"Oh! I know where that is. You're actually about ten blocks away from it." She pointed to the South. "If you keep going in that direction, you'll find the address."

"Ooooh!" Saya turned and ran to the South. "Thank you, Miss Kino!" She waved while running off.

Makoto waved as Saya ran away. "Friendly girl."

It was nearly twenty minutes later when Saya finally arrived at the hotel and casino that her senpai was staying at. After getting the information from the front clerk, she ran to the elevator and pushed the button, going up to one of the top floors and running to the end of the hallway where she knocked on the door.

The door opened, revealing Oboro, who smirked at her. "Well, good to see you, kiddo."

"Senpai!" Saya cheered and glomped Oboro, grinning as Oboro pulled her in and closed the door behind her. "I got lost, I would have been here sooner, but I could have been later if not for this nice lady who I ran into."

"Oh?" The screen with the garbled voice of Mr. D spoke up upon hearing that. "Did she look like this?" A picture of a young Japanese woman with brown hair in a ponytail and green eyes appeared on screen.

"Yeah!" Saya nodded with a grin. "She was nice!"

Ingrid looked at Saya and then at Oboro and shook her head. "You do realize that pets aren't allowed in this hotel, right?"

Saya stuck her tongue out at Ingrid. "Don't get upset because you're jealous of senpai!" Before the conversation could continue a red sigil appeared on the wall and two people, a man and a woman appeared in the room. The man was mostly unremarkable, but the woman had everyone on edge due to the power she seemingly had.

"Ah, Dr. Kiryuu and Miss Melinoe." Mr. D said with a pleased sound in his jarbled voice. "Now that you two, Saya, Oboro, Ingrid, Edwin Black, and Satanael are all together, we can begin discussing our plans."

"It seems that I'm out of the loop." Dr. Kiryuu said. "I wish to experiment on those so-called Magical Girls." He pushed the glasses up the bridge of his nose. "Their very existence is offensive."

"Yes, yes," Mr. D said is a dismissive tone of voice, "everything you disagree with is offensive, I know that. Anyway, yes, you will have some of those Sailor Senshi to work on and then some. And Edwin Black wishes to have Miss Asagi for himself. Melinoe, myself and the final backer all have their own reasons. Satanael wishes to experiment on a Sacred Gear user to create a mastered Balance Break and Oboro wishes to simply kill a few people."

"Oh please, you'll make me blush." Oboro smirked at that. "But, beyond that, how are we going to achieve our goals?" She asked, her smirk disappearing. "From what I've been informed about the Senshi is that they're powerful enough to threaten beings that can destroy the world. How do we deal with that?"

"Thanks to Miss Saya," Mr. D answered her, "everything is moving exactly as I have predicted. With the Time Witch and the Sin of Avarice out of Las Vegas, we need to make some moves."

"Some?" Ingrid raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

"If we move too fast and too soon, we run the risk of tipping off their allies and we don't need that just yet." Mr. D told them. "Thanks to my help, we won't be spotted by various scrying efforts. But even then, there's two Senshi that we have to worry about."

An image of a young woman with short blue hair and blue eyes and a young woman with long, black hair and purple eyes appeared on screen, along with the forms of Sailor Mercury and Sailor Mars. "These two, Ami Mizuno, who is also Sailor Mercury and Rei Hino, who is also Sailor Mars, are the biggest threats to us right now. Sailor Mercury has a genius level intellect that rivals some of the greatest geniuses in history. Sailor Mars is not only psychic, but she can channel her powers in her civilian form that can be used to seal their movements and weaken their powers. If our plans are to succeed, these two need to be eliminated."

"And how easy will it be to eliminate them?" Edwin asked Mr. D as he sat on the couch and looked at the screen. "From what I know of the Senshi, they are very close and protective of each other. Surely they will know..." He paused as two of Satanael's Fallen Angels stood in front of him and transformed into near identical copies of Oboro and Ingrid. "...Impressive but..."

"If we wanted," "Ingrid" said with an identical voice to the original, "we can become anyone we want, so long as we interact with them. However," she looked at "Oboro" who grinned and nodded.

"We can also read people's minds to get their memories and personalities down pat." She said and chuckled before both shifted back to their previous forms.

"Well then," Melinoe smiled at everyone pleasantly. "I believe the saying is, no time like the present. Oh, before I forget, ladies, I was told that you two fight with swords?" They both nodded and she held out her hands. "Let me see them."

"If you plan on using magic on my sword, it's not exactly easy to do." Ingrid said as she pulled out a golden straight blade. "It's a demon that was sealed into this blade and other than my own Demonic power, it eats at magic."

"True," Melinoe nodded as she put her finger on the hilt of the sword and drew a symbol on it. "But that's only the blade, the hilt doesn't block magic, correct?" She smiled as the symbol took effect and then put a series of runes on Oboro's sword, which was a black sword blade on one side and a saw blade on the other side. "A machete?"

"I like the design." Oboro said with a shrug. "Besides, a machete, katana, rapier or broadsword, all of them can cut and stab just fine. This has some added effects." She chuckled as she took it back from Melinoe. "So, what good is this?"

"Those runes will help you two against the Senshi as it will actually allow you to harm them." Melinoe answered her. "Those Senshi have divine protection from the Gods." She winked at them. "This just levels the playing field."

"Well," Ingrid said with a nod. "This will be interesting then."

"If you two hurry," Mr. D said as a map of Las Vegas appeared on screen. "This is where the two are at. Sailor Mars is currently with Murasaki Yatsu while Sailor Mercury is alone. Ingrid, you should go after Sailor Mercury while Oboro should go after Mars."

"I can handle either of them." Oboro huffed in annoyance.

"While you do have a near immunity to all magic, Sailor Mercury is too dangerous for you." Mr. D told her. "Her power might not be able to affect you directly, but she can freeze the air around you and damage your cybernetics that way. Mars has no way to harm you. Ingrid could handle either one alone, but seeing as Murasaki Yatsu is with her, it might complicate matters."

"Very well," Ingrid said as she sheathed her sword. "Come, Oboro, let's go deal with them."

"Fine, fine." Oboro said and stood up. "Sorry, Saya, you can't come with this time."

"Aww," she pouted. "Fine, but I want to play with some Senshi too."

"There are two you can play with." Mr. D said as Oboro and Ingrid left. "But you'll have to wait until the moment is right."

"YAY!" Saya threw her hands in the air as she cheered and a gleeful grin came to her face while her skin flashed blue and her eyes turned red for a moment. "I can't wait!"
