Dying wasn't as awful for me as I assume it is for other people, I never really lived to be fair. I was born with a condition that rendered me unable to leave my hospital bed without assistance. For someone like me who longed to be outdoors, hanging out in a forest, going camping, or just going to school like a normal kid… it was awful I hated every moment I was on the earth. Death is so peaceful, I never was religious so I never planned on some sort of afterlife oblivion honestly sounded a lot better but here I am floating in, well I don't wanna call it darkness, more nothingness, yea that the word nothingness is a good way to describe this and let me tell you it's amazing I can move all my limbs twist my body in any way I want without someone helping me do it. Screw eternal bliss in heaven or dining with the gods in Valhalla this is better than any afterlife you could possibly give me.

"You know most people go crazy after around a month of this." A spoke startling me suddenly.
"What, someone else here to?" I responded twisting my body in every direction trying to locate the voice

"Well I'm here yea but not so much someone as much as some god." Oh cool a god, wait is he coming to punish me for not believing in him?

"Nope not the kind of god a religion existed for on your planet."

"Alright… so uh whatcha doing here?" I mean that's a better answer than I expected.

"Well the basic gist of it was reincarnation. The god who ruled over your home needed you to have a crappy life for karmic balance or whatever he goes on about and I just bought your soul from him." Uh what?

"you… bought my soul? Like a trading card?"

"yea pretty much there are a few like me that will buy a few souls to give a better life than the one they were shackled with."

"why?" Why go out of their way to help random people

"Well the reasons are twofold the basic one is that I feel bad for you, your planets god was a young one obsessed with balance and wanting to do well to hopefully gain more power to rule more worlds. I'm older god who has learned from my mistakes and its my way of apologizing to those I made suffer like your god did. As a bonus I usually get a show out of it."

"A show out of it?"

"I'm old, watching billions of realities rise and fall over the incalculable years I've been alive gets repetitive, I'm reaching the point In my godly existence that I intend to allow myself to disappear soon, we all do it eventually, out of our deaths more are born and the cycle repeats has been repeating for countless universes and gods, I was born from the death of a god while that god was born from the death of another. You are going to be my last show, a final hurrah before I allow myself to rest in oblivion all my power will go to creating a universe where every single card stack to give you the most exciting life you could ever live and myself the grandest adventure I could ever have the pleasure of witnessing. I've spent a few million years waiting and looking for the perfect person to give that to me and I've finally found him in the place of a young man screwed by life itself. Your entire life was spent suffocating and now I intend to give you a breath of the freshest air you could ever breath to watch you THRIVE. Everything is already prepared, I've chosen a world you know well enough to help but not enough nothing is fun. This will be the last time we speak before I give my final goodbyes after your story is done… I hope your ready Nate I truly hope you live up to all my hopes."

Then there was a blinding flash and I was hit with a burst of cold air on my now wet skin.

"It's a boy Mr. and Mrs. Finley"

Alright, if the random god wants a show, by him I'm gonna live the most fulfilling and exciting life I could ever hope to live.
