Chapter 2: Remembering and Searching

"There shouldn't be. The only thing we need to do now is pack everything onto the Whale Patroller, but I'm sure we can do that ourselves." Ryder replied. "Thank you again for doing this for us by the way."

"No problem!" Snowflake exclaimed.

"Now pups, let's get everything into the Whale Patroller. We don't want to be late." Ryder told them.

As he was talking, Snowflake trotted over to Marshall and got his attention. "You be sure to stay safe over there, alright?"

"Of course! Since when am I ever not safe?" Marshall asked.

"Marshall. You've done everything from fighting a forest fire to fighting a literal dragon over Barkingsburg. You seem to always be in some sort of danger of some kind." Snowflake replied.

"Well…Okay, you have a point there. But it's just a celebration. What's the worst that could happen?"

Meanwhile, in the underwater city of Puplantis, there were many hundreds of merpups all getting ready to celebrate, singing many lullabies. As they did whenever the mer-moon was out. However, not everyone was singing and cheering, as a lone Portuguese water dog was floating in the distant, watching the city with a look of annoyance.

"Ugh, of course." Moby muttered. "They're always celebrating something aren't they? Do they ever take a break!?" Moby asked the octopus next to him. He didn't get an answer from the creature, as expected.

Moby continued floating there. Staring over at Puplantis as the merpups finished decorating the smaller things and moved to decorate the main castle in the center. Meanwhile, Moby was slowly going mad; unable to handle the long sounds of singing and cheering.

"Y'know what? I'm done. I'm just going to go visit that town. What was it called? Adventure Bay? Is that correct?" Moby asked the octopus. Once again - as expected - he received no response. Which seemed to annoy Moby slightly more. "Why do I even ask you anything? All you do is stare back at me like I'm stupid."

Moby then turned away from the Cephalopod, glancing around in different directions as if looking for something.

'Now which way was it again?' Moby thought to himself. Seeing nothing but empty ocean as he glanced around, looking for some landmark he could use. "I think it was…this way?" Moby said out loud as he began swimming in the opposite direction of Puplantis.

Back at The Lookout, just as Ryder and the pups began departing in the Whale Patroller, Snowflake and Ned walked through The Lookout doors. Upon entering, they both looked around at their surroundings, expecting stuff to have dramatically changed. Alas, it was still the same old lookout it was during their last visit.

"Huh. It's the same as last time… Same lights, same TV." Snowflake muttered. She then turned toward the couch next to her. "Same couch." She said as she climbed onto the couch. "And still surprisingly comfy."

"Did you expect them to have gotten completely new furniture or something?" Ned laughed.

"No," Snowflake replied, glaring over at Ned from the couch. "But, to be honest, I at least expected something to have changed."

Snowflake then paused for a moment before continuing.

"You know, even if it is the same, it never ceases to amaze me just how advanced this building is. An automatic elevator? A rotating parking lot? It's ridiculous!" Snowflake commented.

"Not only the building. The pup-packs, the robo-pup, everything they have is much more advanced than home. It's honestly hard to get used to." Ned added.

"I would say life must be so simple here, if it wasn't for the constant rescues everyday and Mayor Humdinger scheming against the town." Snowflake remarked.

"Their lives are anything but simple. Like, remember that time Marshall told us he fought a dragon?" Ned pointed out.

"Yeah. Didn't he also say something about a flying castle as well?" Snowflake asked.

"I think I recall him talking about that, yeah." Ned replied. There was another short pause of silence as they both were seemingly trying to remember an even bigger event the team had told them about.

"Oh I got one! Remember that storm catcher over in Adventure City? That sounded crazy." Ned stated, he then realized something. "On another note, why is it always Marshall that tells us about these?" Ned asked, wondering why the other pups never told them about their experiences.

"Not all of them are from Marshall; like the meteor incident from the city. Skye was the one who told us about that one." Snowflake replied. "There's also the one Chase told us about; where he stopped Sweetie from stealing the crown. As well as Rocky's; where he-"

"Okay, you've made your point," said Ned with a laugh. "I was wrong."

There were then a few more moments of silence before Snowflake asked. "So…what do we do while we wait for them to return?"

Meanwhile, a lone merpup was approaching the shores of Adventure Bay, having swam quite a grand distance to get there. Infact, it was such a large distance that he was beginning to get tired from swimming non stop for so long.

"Where is this place?" Moby asked himself. He was beginning to question whether he had gone the right direction, which worry him as he knew he had to find some form of land soon.

He then noticed the silhouette of something in the distance, although he couldn't make out exactly what it was. Nonetheless, he began swimming faster, assumed that it was the place that he had been looking for. Although as he got closer to it, it seemed like it was actually moving toward him. Once it got close enough to see clearly, he realized that it wasn't land. Instead, it was some sort of submarine.

Moby quickly got out of its way to let it pass by, barely missing the large submarine by only a few dozen meters. As it slowly passed right beside him, he saw the logo of the PAW Patrol down the side of the submarine, going toward the direction he just came from.

'Where are they going?' Moby wondered. 'Are they going to that dumb celebration? Who am I kidding? Of course they are!' Moby thought to himself before turning back and continuing his journey.

After several more minutes, he saw yet another object in the distance. Although this one was much bigger.

"This has to be it." Moby muttered. He then began swimming upward, breaching the surface shortly after. In front of him, he saw a large landmass simply known as Adventure Bay.

The first thing he noticed was the massive suspension bridge connecting the two sides of the bay. He thought it was weird that they would build such a large bridge to cross the bay, instead of just using the roads that went around the bay, but he didn't dwell on it for too long. He then began swimming closer to the small town, ready to finally get out of the water.

As he kept swimming however, he felt himself struggling to stay above the surface, tired from the nonstop swimming. He knew he couldn't stop yet, however. After all, he was so close to town, he could see the individual citizens walking down the sidewalks.
