Charlie Brown may have lost the tennis game against Peppermint Patty and Roy, but he still retained his spirit. He had a Little Red-Haired Girl on his team, this being Heather Johnson, who was the first Little Red-Haired Girl he had ever met.

One morning, Charlie Brown was sitting on the beanbag watching an action cartoon. He wasn't paying attention to the show. He was thinking about something else. This was about all the Little Red-Haired Girls who have come into his life.

"I've met so many of them, and they're all beautiful." said Charlie Brown.

Sally walked over. She was puzzled Charlie Brown wasn't paying attention to the TV.

"What are you doing, Big Brother?" asked Sally. "And why aren't you paying attention to the TV?"

"I'm thinking, Sally." said Charlie Brown.

"About what? The game you lost in tennis?" Sally smirked.

"No." said Charlie Brown. "You know how Heather Johnson was my doubles partner?"
"Yes?" Sally said.

"She was the first of them to come into my life."
"The first what, Big Brother?"
"The first….. Little Red-Haired Girl."
"Big Brother." said Sally. "It's a Little Red-Haired World."

When Charlie Brown had finished watching his show, he went out to the bench at the park. Walking over to him was Heather Wold, his most recent Little Red-Haired Girl.

"Hi, Charlie Brown." said Heather Wold. "Whatcha doin'?"
"I'm just thinking." said Charlie Brown.
"What are you thinking about?" asked Heather Wold.

"About all the Little Red-Haired Girls who've come into my life." said Charlie Brown.

"More Little Red-Haired Girls?" asked Heather Wold. "I know there's Heather Johnson, who came to our homecoming game a few years ago, but there are others?"
"There are." said Charlie Brown. "That game of tennis I played, I was teamed up with Heather Johnson. She reminded me….. I've met more than one Little Red-Haired Girl in my life."

"Really?" said Heather Wold. "Have you talked to them all?"

"Well, not all of them." said Charlie Brown. "I'd been too nervous."

"Now that you're in high school, and you've talked to me those years ago," said Heather Wold. "Why don't you talk to them when you get the chance? You're no longer nervous about talking to me."

"Hmm….." pondered Charlie Brown. "I'll consider. And then I'll remember my true Little Red-Haired Girl."

Charlie Brown got off the bench and set out to find every Little Red-Haired Girl he had ever seen.

"Sooner or later, he'll remember who his true Little Red-Haired Girl is." Heather said.

Janice walked over and saw Heather Wold sitting on the bench.

"Hi, Heather." said Janice.

"Oh. Hello, Janice." said Heather Wold.

"Say, what were you and Charlie Brown speaking about?" asked Janice.
"Well," said Heather Wold. "Charlie Brown told me he had met all different kinds of Little Red-Haired Girls before I came into his life, and he didn't talk to all of them due to how shy he was."

"Really?" said Janice. "Linus did tell me Charlie Brown has seen many Little Red-Haired Girls in his life."

"He'll soon remember his true Little Red-Haired Girl." Heather Wold said.

"So what shall we do now?" asked Janice.

"Let's go for some ice cream." said Heather Wold. "I'm in the mood for some."
"Great idea, Heather." said Janice.

So the two girls left the bench and went down to the city centre to the ice cream parlour. When they got there, there was Charlie Brown speaking to Heather Johnson.

"Oh. Hello." said Heather Wold. "Fancy seeing you two here."
"Oh! Er….. Heather Wold!" exclaimed Charlie Brown. "I was just….. talking to Heather Johnson."
"Hello, Heather." said Heather Johnson.

"What are you doing here? And with Charlie Brown?" asked Heather Wold.

"We were just having a friendly chat." said Heather Johnson. "Charlie Brown here was just reminding me I was the first Little Red-Haired Girl who came into his life."
"Isn't that nice?" said Heather Wold. "But you know who his true Little Red-Haired Girl is, don't you?"
"Oh, is that the time?" Charlie Brown said sheepishly. "I….. er…. gotta go!"
Charlie Brown dashed out of the ice cream parlour.

"The ice cream mountain made for two…." The waiter said. "What the?!"
"Don't worry." Heather Wold smiled. "Janice and I will help Heather eat this. I'll pay."
So both Heathers and Janice at the ice cream, while speaking about Charlie Brown's issues.

"What's gotten into him now?" quizzed Heather Johnson.

"He's had an interesting history with Little Red-Haired Girls." Heather Wold said.

Charlie Brown dashed into the food court at the mall where Tommy was having lunch with Heather Clyde-Halverson, Katie and Frieda.

"Charlie Brown?" said Frieda.

"Hi, Frieda, Heather, Katie, Tommy." said Charlie Brown. "Wait! Another Heather?"

"Hi, Charlie Brown." said Heather Clyde-Halverson.

"What are you doing with Tommy?" asked Charlie Brown.

"Didn't I tell you, Charlie?" asked Tommy. "This Heather is my cousin. My dad, Heather's dad and Katie's dad are brothers."

"Just like Heather Wold being my cousin." said Frieda. "Since our moms are sisters."

"I remember." said Charlie Brown.

"Why in such a mood, Charlie?" asked Tommy.

"As you may remember," said Charlie Brown. "I've had a long history with trying to speak to Little Red-Haired Girls."
"Even me?" asked Heather CH.

"Even you." said Charlie Brown. "I thought about you in a song Peppermint Patty sang to me."

"I guess Peppermint Patty had feelings for you, didn't she?" asked Tommy.
"Until Pierre came to America." said Charlie Brown. "But now that Pierre's back in France, she doesn't have anyone."

"Poor Peppermint Patty." sighed Heather CH.

"Yes. Poor Patricia." said Katie.

Meanwhile, after finishing their scrumptious ice cream mountain, Heather Wold, Heather Johnson, and Janice left the ice cream parlour.

"Such a good mountain!" sighed Heather Johnson.

"I wish I was still eating it." said Janice.

"The chocolate was so delicious and brown." said Heather Wold. "Reminds me of Charlie Brown."
"Speaking of Charlie Brown, where's he gone to now?" wondered Janice.

"Wherever he's seen another Little Red-Haired Girl." said Heather Wold.

"What other Little Red-Haired Girls could there be?" asked Heather Johnson.

"There's already Frieda, and…." Heather Wold said. "Of course! My cousin Frieda! She told me she, Tommy, Katie and Heather Clyde-Halverson are in the mall."
"Let's go." said Janice.

The three girls arrived at the mall where Charlie Brown was sitting with Heather Clyde-Halverson, Tommy, Frieda and Katie.

"Charlie Brown!" said Heather Wold.

"Good grief, now they're following me!" sighed Charlie Brown.

"Don't mean to be a stalker." said Heather Wold. "But…."

"Good grief, Heather Clyde-Halverson!" said Janice.

"Oh. Hi." said Heather CH.

"Hey, Heathers. Hey, Janice." said Tommy.

"Three Heathers?! Good grief!" cried Frieda.

"Three Heathers?!" cried Katie. "There can't be three Heathers!"

"Yes there can!" the three Heathers smiled.

"Just speaking to every Little Red-Haired Girl I've ever seen, especially given I already spoke to Heather Wold." said Charlie Brown.

"What's with him?" asked Frieda.

"His tennis game with Heather Johnson has made him remember all the different Little Red-Haired Girls who came into his life." said Tommy.

"I'm a Little Red-Haired Girl too." said Frieda. "A Little Naturally Curly Red-Haired Girl."
"She's always about her hair." said Charlie Brown.

On the other side of the mall, Claudia, an autistic girl, was doing some shopping. She was going into Toys W Us when she saw Peppermint Patty and Marcie.

"Hey, Patty. Hey, Marcie." said Claudia.

"Heya, Claudia!" said Peppermint Patty. "How's it going?"
"It's going well." said Claudia.

"What seems to be going well?" asked Marcie.

"Well…." said Claudia. "I could've told you sooner, but…."
"But?" Peppermint Patty and Marcie said.

"I'm going to be an aunt!" said Claudia.

"You're gonna be an aunt?" said Peppermint Patty. "But you're too young to be an aunt."

"Silly Patty. You can never be too young to be an aunt or an uncle, even if your sibling is old enough to be a parent." said Claudia.

"Too bad I can't be an aunt." sighed Peppermint Patty.

"Neither can I, Sir." added Marcie.

"Patty. Aren't you forgetting?" asked Claudia.

"Yeah, but Gordon and Kimmy will be step-siblings." said Peppermint Patty.

"Speaking of which, when is your dad remarrying?" asked Claudia.

"He and Lacey haven't announced it yet." said Peppermint Patty.

"Anyway, I'll spread around the word that I'll be an aunt soon." Claudia said as she left.

Back with Heather Wold, she had gone home after having a word with Charlie Brown, the other Heathers and Janice.

"Where have you been, Big Sister?" asked Henry.

"I've been out and about." said Heather Wold. "Speaking to some Little Red-Haired Girls."

"You're a Little Red-Haired Girl too, aren't you, Sis?" asked Henry.

"Yeah, but Charlie Brown seems to have forgotten who his true one is." said Heather Wold. "But sooner or later, he's gonna remember who it is."

And Heather Wold went upstairs and looked at her dance trophy and her pink pen.

"Maybe these will remind him." Heather Wold thought.

"What are you doing, Heather?" asked Donna.

"I'm reminiscing about the time I won the winter dance when we first came here." said Heather Wold.

"And where did you go?" Donna added.

"Well," said Heather Wold. "Charlie Brown is speaking to every Little Red-Haired Girl who's ever come to his life." said Heather Wold.

"You mean there are more Little Red-Haired Girls out there?" asked Donna. "And you're not the only one?"

"Of course." said Heather Wold. "In fact, some do go to my high school. There are even others named Heather."

"Oh yes, I remember." said Donna. "I remember, shortly after your father proposed to me, a man, whose lifelong dream was to be a cartoonist, and whom I dated shortly before he began, tried to propose to me, but I turned him down….. How I wonder what my life could've been like if I accepted his hand in marriage…."

Heather Wold looked at her mother, puzzled by her words.

"Sounds a bit like Captain Sparky." Heather Wold said.

When school had arrived a couple of days later, Heather Wold discussed to her homeroom all about what Charlie Brown had done.

"He's speaking to every Little Red-Haired Girl he's ever met." said Heather Wold.

"My sister's a Little Red-Haired Girl too." said Janice.

"And so am I." said Adrienne.

"Me too." said Erin.

"But I could've been Tommy's Little Red-Haired Girl…." added Adrienne. "Until Frieda came into his life."

"I'm a Little Red-Haired Girl too." said Frieda. "A Little Red-Haired Girl with naturally curly hair."

"Here she goes again." sighed Lucy. "On about her naturally curly hair again."

"That's Frieda for you." said Sebastian.

"Chuck could've been with me." said Peppermint Patty. "Now that Chuck has a Little Red-Haired Girl, and Pierre, my Little Red-Haired Boy, has gone back to France, I don't have anyone!"
"There's plenty of other fish out there, Sir." said Marcie.

Meanwhile, at Sparkyville Middle School, Claudia spread the exciting news about some newcomers to her family.

"Your mom's having a baby?" said Skylar.

"No, I said my SISTER is having a baby. I'm gonna be an aunt!" said Claudia.

"Oh, silly me!" said Skylar.

"I even told Peppermint Patty and Marcie about it." added Claudia.

"No way!" said Eugene.

"So what will your siblings be?" asked Mary Jackson, the Little Red-Haired Girl who resembled Mary Jo.

"Not siblings! My sister's offspring! Weren't you listening?" asked Claudia.

"Oh yeah. I guess I wasn't listening." said Mary Jackson.

"Anyway, my sister is going to find out today, what her children will be." Claudia continued.

During lunch, Heather Wold was sitting on her lonesome when Mary Stewart came to sit next to her.

"What's on your mind, Heather?" asked Mary Stewart.

"It's Charlie Brown." said Heather Wold.

"And what's Charlie Brown doing?" asked Mary Stewart.

"He's speaking to every Little Red-Haired Girl who's come into his life." said Heather Wold. "Even Heather Johnson."

"So there are other Little Red-Haired Girls out there." said Mary Stewart.

"Even Frieda and Violette are redheads." said Heather Wold. "So….. hold on! How come Charlie Brown was too nervous to talk to me and those other red-haired girls, but wasn't too nervous to talk to Frieda or Violette?"

Violette and Frieda, who overheard Heather Wold speaking to Mary Stewart, came over to listen.

"Hey, Violette, Frieda." said Heather Wold.

"Bonjour, ma Heather." said Violette.

"I'm just wondering… how come Charlie Brown was too nervous to talk to me, yet he wasn't too nervous to talk to you?"

"That's Charlie Brown for you." said Frieda. "Linus only introduced me to him, and he got annoyed of me bragging about my naturally curly hair."

"Ma grandmother knew Charles' grandfather in their young days." said Violette. "A even kept Silas' satchel until Charles came to France."

"I recall that." said Heather Wold. "But you're both redheads too."

"Beats me." said Frieda. "I guess Charlie Brown had never been that fond of girls with naturally curly hair."

Overhearing their conversation, Linus and Janice came over.

"Hey, girls." said Linus.

"Whatcha doin'?" asked Janice.

"We're discussing about the girls Charlie Brown has met over the years." said Heather Wold
"And why he was too nervous to talk to Heather and other Little Red-Haired Girls, yet wasn't too nervous to talk to me or Violette even though we're redheads." said Frieda. "And I assumed he wasn't into girls with naturally curly hair."

"There's another Little Red-Haired Girl who also has naturally curly hair." Linus said.

"Is there?" quizzed Frieda.

"Well…." Linus began. "He tried to talk to her, and tried dancing with her, only for her to be taken by Snoopy, who joined the valentine dance for some reason."

"Snoopy was at that dance too?" said Heather Wold.

"He's more than any normal dog." added Linus.

"All this talk about Little Red-Haired Girls has made me hungry." said Janice. "We'll continue this conversation after school."

Peppermint Patty and Marcie were speaking on another side of the cafeteria.

"So Chuck is talking to Little Red-Haired Girls, I hear." said Peppermint Patty.

"He sure is, Sir." said Marcie. "But in other news, Claudia is going to be an aunt."
"What shall we do about it?" wondered Peppermint Patty.

"We could shop for some presents for the baby." said Marcie.

"Yes! We can have a baby shower!" added Peppermint Patty.

"We can shop for some girts." added Marcie.

"Heya, gals." said Franklin. "Whatcha going on about?"
"Claudia's gonna be an aunt." said Peppermint Patty.

"An aunt? That's amazing!" said Franklin. "Wait until I tell the others!"

Franklin found Heather Wold.

"Hey, Heather." said Franklin. "Claudia's gonna be an aunt!"
"Claudia? An aunt?" said Heather Wold. "Sounds amazing!"

"Hey, Spearmint Sammy!" said Franklin. "Guess what!"
"What is it, Frank?" said Spearmint Sammy.

"Claudia's gonna be an aunt!" said Franklin.

"Come off it, Frank!" Spearmint Sammy scoffed. "Claudia's too big to be an ant!"
"Not that kind of ant! In other words, her sister's gonna have a baby." said Franklin.

"Amazing!" Said Spearmint Sammy.

When school had ended, Charlie Brown had passed Sparkyville Middle School when he saw another Little Red-Haired Girl come out. This was one who joined a party Marcie threw.

"It's the Little Red-Haired Girl!" cried Charlie Brown.

"Little Red-Haired Girl?" quizzed Mary Jackson.

"You're that Little Red-Haired Girl who joined Marcie's party some years ago." said Charlie Brown.

"Do I know you?" asked Mary Jackson.

"I do. I'm Brown Charlie, I mean Barney Clown…. Charlie Brown."

"Oh yeah. I think I saw you there, Charlie Brown. I'm Mary Jackson."
Heather Wold, Frieda, Mary Stewart, Linus and Janice walked by, and were most surprised to see Charlie Brown speaking to yet another Little Red-Haired Girl.

"Another Mary?!" exclaimed Mary Stewart.

"Good grief! There can't be two Marys!" Janice said.

"Actually, there are three Marys." said Mary Stewart.

"Oh yeah. Mary Jo." said Janice.

"Come to think of it," Heather Wold pondered. "This Mary does look like Mary Jo now that you mentioned it."

Schroeder had arrived at home, and was playing his grand piano when Heather Wold and Mary Stewart walked in.

"Two girls in the same house. There's a lucky man I am." said Schroeder.

"Don't worry about me, Schroeder." said Heather Wold. "I'm not here to ask you about marriage or anything."

"Me neither." said Mary Stewart. "I'm here because of Heather's dilemma."

"What dilemma?" asked Schroeder.

"It's Charlie Brown." said Heather Wold. "He's thinking about every Little Red-Haired Girl he's met in his life. And I want to remind him who his true Little Red-Haired Girl is."

"Tell him who the first one he spoke to is." said Schroeder. "But wait until the time is right."
"Okay. Will do. Thank you, Schroeder." said Heather Wold.

And Heather Wold left Schroeder's place, leaving Mary Stewart there.

"You really fascinate me, Schroeder." said Mary Stewart.

Schroeder blushed at this.

"Anyway, there's a baby shower going on, so I suggest you come."
And Mary Stewart grabbed Schroeder's left hand, bringing him out of the house.

Claudia arrived home, and much to her surprise…..

"SURPRISE! Baby shower!" everyone shouted.

"Wha?! Baby shower!?" Claudia exclaimed.

"Yes." said Kayla. "It's a baby shower."
"For the new babies." said Krissy.

"So who's the lucky soon-to-be mom?" asked Peppermint Patty.

"I am." said Kayla. "I can't wait to be a mom!"
"And I can't wait to be an aunt." said Claudia.

"And a baby shower for me?" added Kayla.

"We're also doing this to guess whether it's going to be a boy or a girl." said Marcie.

"I think it's gonna be a boy." said Linus.

"Well I think it's gonna be a girl." said Lucy. "Little brothers can be such bothers….."

The others glared at Lucy.

"No offence…." Lucy stammered.

"Well, I have a little sister and a little brother, so it won't matter what it'll be." said Charlie Brown.

"Sis. May we speak in private?" asked Kayla.

"Okay." said Claudia.

"I wonder what they're talking about?" wondered Heather Wold.

"Whether the baby is gonna be a boy or a girl." said Marcie.

"I agree with Lucy. I hope it's a girl." said Violet.

"And what a girl." added Patty Swanson.

"I hope it's a boy." added Franklin.

Claudia came back out, and was ready to announce what the baby was going to be.

"I've talked to my siblings about the baby," said Claudia.

"And…?" said Lucy.

"It's gonna be a nephew…." Claudia announced.

"Alright!" cheered Franklin.

"And a niece." Claudia continued.

"WHAT?!" exclaimed Peppermint Patty.

"You mean…. twins?" quizzed Marcie.

"YES!" Claudia answered. "I'm… gonna be an aunt… TO TWINS!"

"Wow! Well done, Claudia!" said Peppermint Patty.

Soon, everyone was having some fun at the baby shower. Snoopy snuck over to savour some food. He brought Fifi over too.

"Hey, Snoopy." said Charlie Brown. "What are you doing here?"
Snoopy didn't answer. He was too busy looking at the food.

"I guess he's more interested in the food than he is in me." said Charlie Brown.

Charlie Brown looked around the baby shower, and much to his surprise, he saw…..

"It's another Little Red-Haired Girl!" he exclaimed. "The very one I wanted to dance with at the valentine dance!"

And there she was. The very Little Red-Haired Girl Charlie Brown never spoke to, one who resembled a red-haired Tapioca Pudding, one whom he'd referred to as the "Little Red-Haired Girl" so many times it could cause someone to tear out their hair to complete baldness. Charlie Brown, remembering when he spoke to Heather Wold, approached this Little Red-Haired Girl.

"Hi." said Charlie Brown.

"Do I know you?" asked the curly-haired Little Red-Haired Girl.

"I'm….. Brown Charlie….. Barney Clown….. Clarney Bown."

"Huh?"
"I mean…. Charlie Brown."
"I think I did see you." said the girl. "Anyway, my name is Donna Johnson."
"Nice to meet you, Donna." said Charlie Brown.

Heather Wold, who'd been watching, was most surprised.

"D…Donna? Her name's like my mom's name!"

"Something wrong, Heather?" asked Mary Stewart.

"It's….. that Red-Haired Girl Charlie Brown's talking to." said Heather Wold. "Her name's like my mom's name!"

"Surprising." said Mary Stewart.

Charlie Brown was speaking to Donna all about how he was too nervous to approach her.

"So how come you were too nervous?" asked Donna Johnson.

"Well….. pretty faces made me nervous." Charlie Brown sighed. "That was until….."

"I came into his life." came a voice.

"Huh?!" Charlie Brown and Donna Johnson quizzed.

Charlie Brown turned around and saw…..

"Heather?!"
"Heather?" said Donna Johnson.

"I'm his true Little Red-Haired Girl." said Heather Wold. "And it's nice to meet you, Donna."
"Hi." said Donna Johnson.

"Your name's like my mom's name." said Heather Wold.

"That's amazing!" said Donna Johnson.

While Heather Wold and Donna Johnson spoke, Charlie Brown went to speak to Mary Stewart.

"So do you remember who your true Little Red-Haired Girl is now?" asked Mary Stewart.

"I sure do. And it's your bestie." answered Charlie Brown.

After the baby shower, after Snoopy and Fifi left, Charlie Brown and Heather Wold were well on their way home.

"Charlie Brown, I had a speak with everyone about how you were too nervous to speak to so many red-haired girls before you met me." said Heather Wold. "However, one thing puzzles me."
"What's that?" asked Charlie Brown.

"How come you weren't too nervous to speak to Frieda or Violette?" asked Heather Wold.

"I just saw them as good friends." said Charlie Brown. "Even if Violette did kiss me."
"But any other Little Red-Haired Girls who didn't make you nervous?" added Heather Wold.

"There was Melody-Melody." said Charlie Brown. "But Linus was more into her….. until the kickoff where she betrayed him."
"That explains everything." said Heather Wold. "Have you spoken to all the Red-Haired Girls who've been in your life, Charlie Brown?"
"I sure have." said Charlie Brown. "Especially to my one and only Little Red-Haired Girl."
"And do you remember who it is?" asked Heather Wold.

Charlie Brown wrapped his arm around Heather Wold to answer her question.

"It's you!"
Heather Wold giggled.

Soon, Charlie Brown and Heather Wold arrived home.

Well, here we are." said Charlie Brown.

"And one more thing before you go inside." said Heather Wold.

"What?"
Heather Wold wrapped her arms around Charlie Brown via his back, hugging him, and making him blush.

"Thank you for remembering me, Charlie Brown." said Heather Wold in a loving fashion.

Then Heather Wold kissed Charlie Brown's right cheek, causing him to blush bright red.

"See you tomorrow, Charlie Brown." Heather Wold said.

Heather walked into her house, while Charlie Brown went inside, blushing bright red, and jumped flat on his bed. He had finally remembered his true Little Red-Haired Girl, and it was the one who lived right across the road from him.
