Chapter 5
The next day, the president of the United States has visions of Gantu and his forces conquering an alien planet. He wakes up panicking and has drawn circles with half a line in the middle of them. Another Gantu Base Ship receives a distress call in the president's vision and this ship is sent to Earth for another attempt to conquer the Earth. Meanwhile, at the white house, Steven Hiller is hailed a hero.
Later, David Levinson and a computer woman are being called to Africa to investigate a landed Gantu ship. They come to a camp. "Who are these guys?" asked a man. 'Bugu rebel forces. Warlords," replied David. The computer woman who's name is Catherine goes to David. African Gantu Resisters fought a ground war with the Gantu Forces. It was a bloodbath. Together, the group go to the landed Gantu ship. They enter the landed ship. In the ship there is a beacon with a red flashing signal on it. 'That's a pattern. So the signal was coming from this ship," David says.
He says "We detected a burst of red band frequency directed into deep space. He pushes the red beacon button and a hologram of the Earth's solar system is shown. Earth flashes red indicating a distress call to the other Gantu Base Ship for reinforcements. Catherin shows the symbol of the circle and half a line on her laptop. "I don't think it's a circle," replied the warlord. He showed them a drawing of a sphere object with a line in the middle of it.
Suddenly, in outer space, a sphere shaped spaceship with a mechanical line in the middle of it has arrived to the Earth. The United States military takes notice and prepares a missile targeted towards the ship. Meanwhile in Africa, a man has informed David and the others that the spaceship has just arrived near the Earth. Meanwhile at the white house, the president has been notified of the arrival of the mysterious spaceship. The heads of states come online on computer screens. "David, are you seeing this spaceship," asked the president. "Yes Mr. President. I see it right on the warlord's laptop." replied David.
"That could be one of Gantu;s ship coordinating an attack. We need to strike first," replied a man. "Hold on. Hang on a second," replied David. "From what I am seeing, the design and the technology of this ship looks nothing like one of Gantu's ships. I'm telling you, this is not Gantu or any of his forces," says David. "What if you're wrong?" says the president. "If you're wrong and we attack it, then we might unintentionally provoke a war with a whole new alien species," David says.
"Mr. President, that could very well be one of Gantu's ships coordinating an attack," the other man says. "Get the missile into firing position," replied a man. "Yes sir," replied another man. The United States missile goes into firing position. "Mr. President, I need an answer," says the commander. The president hesitates for a few seconds then makes his decision.
"Blast the ship away, commander," says the president. The missile locks onto the ship in outer space. "I think this could be a mistake," says David. "Let's just take a few more minutes to…" says David, but before he could continue, the commander says "Fire!" and the United States missile launches from the base into outer space directly towards the spaceship and blast it away.
The ship falls back and takes a collision course directly towards the moon. "Mr. President, we need to send a team up to investigate the alien beings we just blast away," replied David. The president announces on the news that the United States military repealed the sphere shaped ship that arrived near the Earth.
