Days were now working in the tea shop, training with Zuko, watching Iroh tend to his small garden, letters to the gaang, researching on his own time and regular outings with the two fire benders. Today he was on his own, feeling comfortable to walk the streets. The two had made it known he could stay with them, but he wanted privacy to still do his investigating while working towards going out on more ventures alone like this.
His place was exactly as he left it, all Zuko even took back with him were his clothes when paying for his room. A stack of books had been left on the table, a chest he had to keep all his favorite things were intact and he had an inkling that Zuko did some touch up cleaning since there wasn't any dust or articles of clothing on the floor or bed like he left it. After some tidying up in the bathroom did, he store all his clothes away before finding himself at the table to write more letters.
Hi Suki,
Sorry for the late reply. Lots have happened since you mentioned coming by for a visit, you think you could come next week if possible? It would be great to see you, to catch about stuff and get our heads together about my situation. Looking forward to your letter, hope you can visit soon!

Hey gaang!
Tell me what you guys have been up to. I'm out here learning some cool skills that I've got to show you all someday. I've been learning how to make all kinds of teas and getting better at scaling buildings. Things have been entertaining here with some quiet days which has been nice, I remember the days of not having those a lot. By the way has there been any trouble coming your guys' way? Really want you guys safe, hate not being there with everyone. Miss you guys.

Sokka shook off his sadness before rummaging through his satchel bringing out his journals. One of the journals he had was written with details observing Zuko and Iroh. It had mentions of Zuko's outings and day to day things of what the two got up to and of course with some of his own theories and assumptions of why they were here. As time went on, he was realizing there didn't seem to be any schemes of the two to go after Aang or seeming to harm anyone while staying in Ba Sing Se. His perceptions of them were really changing. Done with writing, he stores the journal into his storage chest.
He gets up from the table to grab an empty pouch before heading to do errands. His first stop is to drop off his letter, the library for a new book and more research then next to buy food for tonight's dinner. He was finally feeling comfortable again getting back to his normal routines, it was basically what he was doing the whole time before staying with the two men. While going out, he found some decorations to bring back to make his place feel more inviting and more his style. It was fun making the place more his own when he put the work into it. While finishing the place up, did he get started on dinner for when Zuko comes by later.
