Chapter 2:

Penry was privately trying to work on his moves. "Okay, I think I got it now…" He then trips and falls. "Well, for me that's getting better!"

"You there, talking dog," says Mao Fu.

"Who are you," asks Penry.

"I've been sent to take the Scroll to a more secured location," says Mao Fu.

"What's more secured than a secret school," asks Penry.

"Fort Knox," says Mao Fu.

"Oh, why didn't you say so," asks Penry, "right this way!"

...

"It's nice of the American Government to come all the way to China to protect a legendary scroll," says Penry, "it's right in this vault, but to open it, you have to use awesome Kung Fu moves!" Penry tries and fails. "Um… maybe I should get…" Mao Fu then does it and the scroll opens. "Wow! You ever been to this school?" Mao Fu takes the scroll. "Y'know, a former student once tried to take it, but he failed and was kicked out! What was his name again?"

"Mao Fu," Mao Fu asks in a gloating way.

"Yeah that… that's right!" It seems like Penry figured it out… "Good guess!" The two then walk out.

...

Mao Fu leaves with the scroll. "Good talk," says Penry, "come by again! You can show me some moves!" Penry closes the door. "Nice guy, but he should shave that beard and lose the black suit, it makes him look like an old school supervillain!"

...

"The Scroll has been stolen," says Master Tan.

Everyone's panicking. "Guys, relax," says Penry, "it's all the way in America, in Fort Knox!" Everyone looks at him. "What?"

"Penry, can you describe what their agent looked like," asks Master Tan.

"Well… he had this evil looking beard and was dressed in all black, oh and he was Chinese, but that didn't seem like a big deal to me. Oh, and he was good at Kung Fu!" Master Tan grabs a picture of a younger Mao Fu and shows it to Penry. "Yeah, he looks just like that… oh… I let Mao Fu steal the scroll, didn't I?"

...

"Kicking him out seems a bit extreme," says Master Tan, "he just made a mistake and…"

"Tan Cai, you have defended him for the last time! We have all voted and for allowing our greatest enemy to get away with the scroll, we must remove Penrod Pooch from the school!"

Penry overheard this.

...

"Well, I guess this is it, Master Tan," says Penry.

"Goodbye, Penrod," says Master Tan. Penry then leaves.

...

Penry's now living in some alley. "Penry, you really messed up big time!" He then hears something. "Who's there?" It's a cat. The cat's scared. "Relax, I don't chase cats! I don't even know why other dogs do it, it's not like we eat you guys! Hey, I could use some company, wanna sit by me? I won't tell your cat buddies." The cat comes to him. "Man, you don't know what I've been through. I disgraced my secret Kung Fu school, you can't talk, right?" The cat shakes his head no. "Good. Anyway, now, I'm expelled and a bad guy's gonna become the Greatest Kung Fu Master in the world! How'bout you? You got a home?" The cat looks sad. "Oh, no home. Hey, maybe you and me were meant to meet! What do ya say? We be outcasts together?" The cat agrees. "I'm Penry, what's your name?" The cat stares. "Right, stray animals don't have names… Let's see… I met you on this spot… So, I'll call you Spot!" The cat likes it. "Look at us! Penry Pooch and Spot the Cat, friends 'til the end! Y'know, I wish I could find that Mao Fu and take him down…"

"Mao Fu," asks a man, "he just took a plane to America! Some place called Metro City!"

"What do you know," asks Penry, "he was telling the truth about where he was going! How much does a plane ticket cost?"

...

Penry and Spot stow away on a plane to America. "Spot, we're gonna take down Mao Fu!"

Spot was unsure about this.
