Chapter 7:

So, Mao Fu's henchmen started coming after Hong Kong Phooey and he kept surviving… because Spot kept getting him out of it. Meanwhile, Rosemary tries to keep the police off Hong Kong Phooey's back. Both Mao Fu and Sergeant Flint are getting annoyed.

"This is getting annoying," says Mao Fu.

...

"None of you can catch that vigilante," says Sergeant Flint.

...

"He is nothing but a buffoon and yet…"

...

"… it seems like he's untouchable! What's his secret?"

...

"If you continue to fail me…"

...

"… I'll have your badges!"

...

"Do we understand each other," asks Mao Fu.

...

Hong Kong Phooey, Rosemary, and Spot were having some hotdogs. "Man, I'm tellin' ya," says Hong Kong Phooey, "you wouldn't believe a guy who failed his secret Kung Fu school is now the ultimate fighter!"

"Yeah… maybe you should stop telling people about your secret school," says Rosemary.

"Maybe," says Hong Kong Phooey, "I'm gonna see if I can get another hotdog!" He then walks away.

"Spot, we have to tell him the truth," says Rosemary. Spot's not sure. "you can't keep this up and sooner or later, he's going to figure out you've been beating the crimes for him!"

One of Mao Fu's henchmen was listening.

...

"So, the dog is not the threat," says Mao Fu, "it is the cat, and the police officer is with them!" He then gets an idea. "Send a message to Sergeant Flint! The best way to beat a hero is to go after those closest to him!"
