Chapter 9:
Hong Kong Phooey, Spot, and Rosemary are in the park. "Okay, we got the scroll," says Rosemary, "we still have to find a way to take him down and…"
"It's true, isn't it," asks Hong Kong Phooey.
Spot looks down.
"Penry…" says Rosemary.
"Oh, that's just great! First, I find out everyone at my school thinks I'm a loser, then I help a bad guy steal the most important scroll in all of China, then when I thought things were finally going right for me… I find out that was just taking credit for someone else's success! I should've known! I'm a loser! Always have been and always will be!"
Spot feels bad.
"Penry, yes, we should've told you, but Spot was only trying to help and I wanted to tell you," says Rosemary, "I'm sorry, but I think I know how we can beat Mao Fu!"
"How," asks Hong Kong Phooey.
"The scroll," says Rosemary, "if you read it, it could give you real Kung Fu powers you can use to beat him!"
"But I am to never read the scroll," says Hong Kong Phooey.
"What other choice do we have," asks Rosemary.
Hong Kong Phooey then sighs. He then picks up the cannister and uses the combination to unlock it. The cannister opens and Hong Kong Phooey looks at the scroll, but… "It's just a scroll!"
"What," asks Rosemary.
"I mean, there's a lot of words about Kung Fu moves on it… but it's… just a scroll! There's… nothing magical about it!"
"Okay… that's… that's not what I was expecting," says Rosemary.
Hong Kong Phooey then throws the scroll to the ground. "All of that for a normal scroll!" He then starts beating the ground.
"Penry… I…"
They then all hear something and look and see Mao Fu's henchmen committing acts of terrorism. The police try to stop them, but fail.
"Mao Fu will stop at nothing to get this scroll," says Hong Kong Phooey.
"Penry…"
"You two should go," says Hong Kong Phooey, "I can't do anything right!" Rosemary and Spot then leave. Hong Kong Phooey looks at the destruction.
