Chapter 9: Child vs Parents
"No! I'm nothing like any of you and never will be!" Red yelled as he blasted Edina, leaving her on the ground. Vermillion tried to kung-fu his son and nearly used pyrokinesis, but Red, only a millisecond from his father hitting him, spun in circles, releasing his electrical spasms, making his skin immune to fire and presumably electrocuted the older, more orangey alien, leaving him levitating in the sky for a while. Not long after, Edina rose again and used density control, smacking Red onto the planet's surface, intending to put her son down. But that backfired as Red immediately came to his feet and yet again did a fly side kick that sent Edina onto the ground.
"Holy shit…" Blue watched in awe, his eyes widened.
Despite being on the brink of paralysation, the older, reddish alien got the chance to speak. "No? What do you mean, 'no'? But we need a yes because, my dear, you belong on this planet, with us. You're one of us." Vermillion deepened his voice. His tone was more hoarse and aggressive now.
"I belong anywhere but here!" Red shouted as Blue got up and more actively witnessed the fight between the 3 aliens. Upon Blue being more visible to the others, Vermillion suddenly thought of targeting Blue with his powers, but decided to save it for later, as he was currently too weak to do much. Edina got up and took Red by the legs and spun him around a few meters above the ground, making Red dizzy and nearly puke, but he got a hold of his senses in the nick of time. He felt a lot more stupid than he ever had in his life. He then threw his mother onto the ground, aiming around a few meters from the rocket. Blue realised he'd found the perfect opportunity to put the tanks in the rocket, albeit being concerned for Red, as he was literally fighting his parents. But just when he thought he was out of the radar, a beam, likely from Vermillion, looked like it was headed towards him. Red saw it, and got the exact interpretation that his dad was targeting Blue. The redhead's body was filled with rage, his every fiber wanted to exterminate the enemy standing before him. He took off his eye contacts, and his eyes glowed more golden than ever, and then he finally took one last blast to his father, escorting him higher and then pushing him to the ground. The now two temporary paraplegics watched in repulsion as their auras flickered yet their revolted expressions were transparent. Blue grunted nearby as he felt quite weak from his involvement in the fight. Red looked down and noticed a needle that appeared randomly in front of him, that wasn't there before, with the label "Inject this if you want to become fully human" with a smiley face, likely dropped by someone. Inside, there was red liquid, resembling human blood, but the redhead had golden blood. Red, using the strength he had left, grabbed the vaccine and blasted his parents with his laser eyes and laser hands, as he injected the other vaccine into both of them individually, while they were completely paralysed. "You're not my parents. You never were."
["Ancients Secrets 'N' Things, 4 years prior"]
"You know, Raccoon. I've always wondered what it would be like to be human. Would I not be taken away by some mad scientists, or be able to fly, or be seen as a plaything?"
In fact, that was the last time he ever used his powers, as he injected himself with the vaccine. Red went up to the slightly weaker man and rested in his lap.
Blue smiled lovingly. "I'm proud of you." He says firmly.
Shortly after, the redhead noticed a couple walking together. One of their arms was around the other, an aura of love between them was surrounding the small area of field.
"Vei divnoa vier," the woman crooned.
Red glazed over the two. He stroked and caressed Blue's jawline, looking deep into his eyes while sitting, slightly on the verge of laying down. He felt the love in Blue's eyes seep in through his body, as if he were to say it in his rawest, most indigenous way.
"Vei divnoa vier, Henry."
But shortly after, Red fainted in Blue's lap. His hair slowly faded into a natural ginger, and the golden shine in his eyes burnt out like white dwarf star. The taller man goes into the spaceship, and puts Red in the passenger seat, while unconscious, wrapping his muscular and leathery body up in a warm blanket and fastening his seat belt more tightly than when they first came here. Blue takes the 4 tanks and puts them into the engines of the rocket, dropping the vaccine onto the planet's grounds, ditching the two alien's corpses, which would soon ought to be taken away by an unknown person. He went over to the speaker near the controller and contacted the astronauts back on Earth.
"We're heading back to Earth!" Blue said confidently with determination, over the speaker and took off.
The speaker replied with; "Alright, it's been 10 hours! Back on Earth it's already nighttime!"
Blue gasped as he speedily headed the spaceship back to Earth. But something…something kept bugging him. It was a painful kind of questioning. The idea of it being 10 hours since they left Earth wasn't of relevance, though. What was he going to tell Red now that he was a human? Will he tell the truth? Lie to him? The thoughts were melting Blue's brain. He couldn't exactly risk too much if it meant having Red starting a new life and never knowing of his old life.
The night was a sleepless night. Blue had to explain the whole story to his and Red's close relatives. Memories and tragedies were like a flash flood in his head. The tall man felt as if meeting Red had altered his life severely. For the first time, he felt the beauty of the unordinary, but it was a melancholic, bittersweet kind of beauty. He indeed loved him, and their connection was blood-deep, deeper than some kind of romance.
