Title: Abandoned Plots 2

Summary: More abandoned ideas from 2024

Title: First Impressions

Summary: First impressions are important after all.

Augh, why did the prince feel the need to meet me? I was just some backwater baron. Even if I had earned my nobility, it wasn't anything particularly noteworthy. The noble girls here certainly rubbed that fact in my face.

Though...

Maybe my prospects would improve now, given the fact that Julius sought me out. So long as I didn't piss him off, the girls here would naturally seek out someone on Julius's good side...

Haaa...

That still left me with gold digging harpies. I hate this world so much. Why couldn't I just live the mob lifestyle I so desired?

Ok. Just meet the prince, don't piss him off, and remain out of his sight for the next three years. Don't get sucked into his orbit or any political bullshit that is likely to come about from any association with the brat.

With that plan in mind, I walked towards the designated meeting place written on the letter.

It was odd, however. The letter gave me an address. Why would the prince have me meet him in the capital? It was too early in the year for the protagonist to have been able to deepen her relationship to the extent necessary to get over the prince's insecurities.

Maybe I was just overthinking it. After all, the capital was home to quite a few high end businesses. It was likely that I would be entering an exclusive establishment. The type of exclusive that even the wealthy were unaware of.

"Sir Bartfort?" a regal voice asked behind me.

Turning around, I saw the villainess standing behind me. I wasn't too surprised. If this was some official meeting, Angelica's presence would not be odd. She was still Julius's fiancée after all.

"Hello, Lady Redgrave. I suppose His Highness wants to formally meet me?"

She looked at me oddly.

"Is that what His Highness told you?"

"I would assume that, given your presence."

"I wasn't even aware that you would be present," she said with a somewhat regretful look.

A real maiden in love. How sweet. How cruel. Also a perfect excuse to make myself scarce.

"Perhaps I could find myself getting lost. I'm not particularly familiar with the area. After all, I'm just some backwater noble," I said with a wink.

Angelica gave me a brief look before letting out a wry chuckle.

"None of that now. To be honest, I find the current situation more than satisfactory. His Highness is taking action to secure Holfort's future."

Well damn. I was hoping she would have taken the bait. Not much else but to get this over with.

"Then shall we be off?"

We both stared at the scene before us.

"Does the prince have a twin?"

"No. Impersonator?"

"Doubtful," I said while gesturing to the four other boys walking about.

With all five of the boys present, there shouldn't be any question as to who they were... except for the fact that none of them exuded the regal aura expected of them.

"So... why are Greg and Chris shirtless?" Angelica asked me.

"How would I know?"

"So it's not a boy thing?"

"Not as far as I'm aware."

Did I reincarnate in the Fujoshi edition? In which case, perhaps it would be best for me to make a hasty retreat before I get roped in as the protagonist.

"Leon, come in! Come in!" Julius said with a smile from the shop. He had a shiny smile as sweat glistened off of his skin. He was also offering meat on a skewer. It was rather picturesque.

It also screamed Fujoshi bait. Julius offering another man his meat stick?

"Nope," I said before running away from my gay harem... only for me to be restrained by both Jilk and Brad.

"Whoa now, Bro. We have important things to discuss," Brad said.

"No, no, no, no! I like women!" I screamed as I tried to get away.

Title: Indentured

Summary:

"You made me Merce's personal servant?!" I angrily yelled.

I was absolutely livid. Dad sold me to Zola. There were so many things wrong with what he did.

Ignoring the fact that personal servants were glorified sex slaves (which he turned his underage son into for his underage daughter), he sold me to his legal wife who absolutely abhorred me and had instilled that hatred into her spawn. Despite my very loudly vehement objections, he did not budge at all.

"Indentured servant, Leon," Dad said while looking positively ill. At the very least, his discomfort for the potential incestuous implications disturbed him. At least he wasn't one of those nobles.

"You still sold me!" I objected loudly.

"I did not sell you. I'm hiring you out to work as a servant to your older half-sister so that we need not purchase an elf for her. And no! You two are not going to be engaging in any activities!"

"What's the difference?!"

"For one, you'll be making money, which will be going to your education."

"My education?"

"Well, you don't expect Zola to fund it. Do you?"

"Erk."

"Exactly. You're the third son, and not from her line. She'll not see value in putting you through school, and she would more than likely engage you to her one of her friends."

I made a face at that. I could only imagine being paired with an old toad that was too stubborn to die. Either I would check to see if I could reroll my reincarnation, or she'd flip roll the dice for me.

Seeing I got the message, Dad told me to pack my bags. Before I left, I recalled he said 'for one' when explaining.

"What are the other reasons?" I asked.

"You have been slacking on your etiquette. Perhaps working as a servant will instill some manners into you," he said jokingly.

Hate you too, Dad. Hate you too.

"Oops," Merce said with a sadistic grin as she spilled her cup's contents again.

She had been pulling this stupid routine over and over again as a means to spite me as I would have to clean the table and linen again. Merce was hoping I would make the same mistake on my first day by making a scene.

Stupid bint didn't realize who she was messing with.

"Merce, kindly stop with your childish antics," Zola said.

"Mother?!"

"As much as this mutt needs to learn discipline, we need not spend more than necessary to do so."

"What are you talking about?"

I just carefully pulled out a notebook and handed it to Zola, who narrowed her eyes at me before quickly snatching the book from my hand.

"Do not act unless prompted to," she snarled.

"I was merely acting as you had asked before in which you told me to predict my Master's needs and do as necessary. Given the nature of the discussion, I believed it would be most beneficial to provide you with the financial records regarding why you have made your decision."

"Clearly you still have not learned to mind your tongue with how cheeky you are," she hissed.

Tch. Always looking for excuses to reprimand me. She was sure to have me whipped tonight.

Turning her attention back to Merce, she reluctantly said, "Since Leon has started working here, your expenses have increased to unacceptable levels."

"What expenses?"

"Well for one thing, he has had to clean the linen you soil every time you have an accident."

"Surely you're not paying him to also wash the cloth. Why pay him twice for what he is already meant to do?"

"Merce, the expenses come from the cleaning itself."

"Surely it can't be that expensive. It's just water."

"I would not expect you to know since you'll never have to do servant's work as a noblewoman, but I can assure you it is far more expensive than you'd think."

"Well, how much?" Merce said with a pout.

"More than your allowance."

That shut her up real fast. As dimwitted Merce could be, she was smart enough to perceive a threat for what it was.

Title: Born To Be King

Summary:

Haaa. After so long, I was finally at the Academy, and the game could begin. I would meet the girl who would save the kingdom as the Saintess reborn.

The plot demanded she would slap me and potentially cuckquean my fiancée.

What a shitty woman. Like hell I was going to trade in Angie for some gold digging harlot.

I'll take my plot demanded beating and push the protagonist towards Brad. The braggart was going to find himself single in a year or two anyways. Stephanie was too much of a rabid bitch for me to feel guilty.

I strolled mindlessly around the fated corridor where I would meet the girl.

Heh, instead of the protagonist hunting the prince, it was the prince hunting down the girl. Kinda creepy when the roles were switched.

"Ah, excuse me," a stammering voice called out from behind me.

"Leave me be," I grouchily said as I turned to look at... "Who the hell are you?"

She slapped me and remained silent as she waited for me to continue the plot.

"... Reincarnate?" I groused as I massaged my smarting face. She had an arm on her that's for sure.

"... Ah damn it all. You too?"

"Yup. My sister-niece as well."

"Your sister-niece?"

"We think she was my niece in my previous life, and now she is my sister. We're not too certain since I died before she was born, and she only has stories about her uncle from her grandparents. We're fairly certain we were related, given the circumstances of my and her uncle's death."

"Well... shit..."

"Speaking of shit, what did you do to the protagonist?"

The girl gave me a look as though she were looking at garbage. "What? Trying to get in the protagonist's pants?"

"Nah. I quite like Angie, but we do need the protagonist's light magic to beat the final boss."

The girl smirked as she put a palm on my smarting cheek. A soft glow appeared and the pain diminished.

"Who needs that girl when I can use light magic," the girl said proudly with her non-existent chest puffed out.

"Oh, cool. Have you been able to use the more advanced light magic?"

"Erm... not quite, but I have three years to get it down pat," she said nervously.

I could only give her an unamused look.

"Pardon?"

"Well the plot will sort itself out. I only need light magic to get to the happy ending."

"... Tell me. What magic did the protagonist use in the final encounter?"

"..."

"You didn't finish the game, did you?"

"... It was too tough. I had my brother finish it for me..." she mumbled pathetically.

"... Please don't tell me you were going to risk the entirety of Holfort on some half baked knowledge of the game!"

"Well excuse me! Not everyone has the luxury of being born with a silver spoon in their mouth!"

"Gold actually."

"... Can you just stop talking? You're ruining my favorite character," the girl grumbled.

"In any case. Protagonist? Where?"

The girl pointed in a direction away from the auditorium.

"Okay. Also, just as a forewarning, avoid Jilk and Brad."

"Why those two?"

"I plan for Olivia to get hitched with Brad since he will be single anyways. Least messy way for the plot to progress naturally. As for Jilk, Clarice is a sweet girl.., and she's liable to leave you in a ditch. Chris's and Greg's fiancées honestly don't take any interest in them."

"Wait. Clarice is a yandere?"

"Yup."

When I entered Angie's classroom to pick her up for lunch, I saw she was cordially talking with Olivia.

Alright. Part two of the plan was going swimmingly. Angie was unlikely to issue the honor duel if she liked Olivia.

Honestly, I always found it weird that Angie issued the honor duel in every route. It didn't matter if Julius took no interest in Olivia in the game. Even if one argued that it was in service of preserving the political bloc formed by the engagements, that argument fell apart with Brad.

AN:

1) My document manager is finally more manageable. I'm surprised how many plot ideas I left abandoned in 2024. This should be the last set of really short shorts for a while.

2) First Impressions is the idiot brigade going back in time and trying to develop a good first impression. Too bad they're idiots.

3) Indentured is based off the fact that demi humans form slave contracts in canon, which ijust feels like a blatantly weird choice of words. Indentured servants sounds way less weird and I just decided to roll with it.

4) Born to be King is obviously being reborn as Julius. Funnily enough, the title randomly came to me since I was thinking of Lion King - King Leon.

5) All these ideas just simply wouldn't get off the ground for me. Lack of motivation I guess.

Review Response

Galeon82: Considering it follows Vol 13's scenario, I should hope it reminds you of it. You made a mistake. Leon's parents never threw him out. He was already living in an apartment when that misunderstanding came up. Marie's kid was already going to be taken care of canonically regardless of Marie's efforts. They simply didn't want Erika to grow up in the crappy environment Marie would provide.

Seth A Minceberg: Considering I have several people list KH2 and Dark Road, not duh. Also, didn't Sora say it?

dawnwatch: Not a bad idea to be honest. The motivations are already in place. Grateful to Leon and wanting to pay him back by ensuring his health.

DoctorChoiceTheunchainedX: Do it. Also, I'm unlikely to do that crossover.

HalfmoonSilver80: Good. It means I wrote it the way I intended.

Ominous442: It's a mix of me cleaning out my abandoned fics and getting randomly inspired. I can quickly pump out a chapter in a day or two when the inspiration hits. Also, I might make a part 2.

Symbolic Joker: Completely original without any inspiration. The KH2 quote only hit me after since it fits surprisingly well, what with Roxas's tragedy. As for the girlfriend, Nel is Ryo's girlfriend in this fic. Angelica's counterpart wasn't introduced. Rolo has a few bastards running around being the sleazebag that he is.

Guest: 2. It's from 2.
